Package Glimpse of One day Chennai to Tirupati Balaji Tour

Tirupati is blessed with great stunning temples including the 106th and the last earthly Divya Desam called the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, it is one of the eight Vishnu Swayambhu Kshetras

The Celebrated spiritual site is also the richest temple in the world. Its construction began in 300 AD with numerous additions made during the reign of different dynasties.

Emperors made several modifications to the temple which is well maintained by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams today.

It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi took birth as a daughter of King Akasha Raja and was named as Padmavati. To marry her Lord Vishnu came to earth and had taken loan from the God of wealth Kubera for the marriage.

In order to repay him he stayed back on the Tirumala Hills and thus originated the famed Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

Begin your journey with the visit to the sacred shrine of Goddess Padmavati. Head over to the biggest attraction of the town, the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

Witness the temple with the shoulder to shoulder crowd and enjoy the rejuvenating experience of visiting the temple set amidst the Tirumala Hills.

Next amazing stop of the one day Tirupati tour from Chennai by private cab is the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple located on the hill town of Tirumala.

The Presiding deity is Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu who is also referred as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam.

It is believed that Lord Vishnu appeared to save mankind from the Kali Yuga troubles as such the place is often popular as Kaliyuga Vaikuntam. Devotees call him with different names including Govinda, Balaji, Venkatachalapathy and Srinivasa.

Renowned as the Lord of the Seven Hills, the sacred shrine is nestled amidst the Tirumala Hills that consists of seven peaks. The revered temple is located on the seventh peak called Venkatadri which is set on the southern banks of the holy water tank called Sri Swami Pushkarini.

It is said that the seven peaks features the seven heads of the king of all nagas called the Adisesha. Legends state that the benefits of paying obeisance to Lord Venkateswara have been mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas.

Marvel at the magnificent Dravidian style architecture that dates back to 300 AD. Devotees worship the idol of Lord Venkateswara which appears in a standing form in the sanctum sanctorum or the Garbhagriha.

Gold plated three tiered gopuram (the tower above the sanctum sanctorum) with one Kalasam on its top is known as Ananda Nilayam which means the abode of happiness.

Gaze at the impressive sight of a small icon of Lord Venkateswara carved at the second tier of the Vimana and known as Vimana Venkateswara. The gopuram is 65.2 feet tall and beautifully decorated with several Vaishnava mythology idols.

Take in the grandeur of the beautifully ornamented idol of Lord Venkateswara which has Goddess Lakshmi on the right chest and Goddess Padmavati on the left.

Entrances to the Garbhagriha showcase the feats of religious architecture. There are three entrances which are also called the Dwarams. The Mahadwaram or the Padikavali that goes through the outer compound wall called Maha Prakaram has a beautiful five storied gopuram.

A three storied gopuram is constructed over the silver entrance called Vendi Vakili adorned with seven Kalasams over it. Circumambulation paths within the spiritual complex have wonderful mandapams.

"Abode of Lord Venkateswara Swamy"

Tirupati tourism.

Situated in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati is known for Lord Venkateshwara Temple, one of the most visited pilgrimage centers in the world. It is also one of the world's richest temples known by different names - Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple, and Tirupati Balaji Temple . Tirumala is one of the seven hills in Tirupati, where the main temple is located. The temple is believed to be where Lord Venkateshwara took the form of an idol and is home to the deity Govinda. Tirupati is one of India's oldest cities and is mentioned in many ancient Vedas and Puranas.

Tirupati is the main town, while Tirumala Hills is where Tirupati Balaji Temple is situated. Also called Sri Venkateshvara Swami Vaari Temple, it is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, believed to be a form of Lord Vishnu, who appeared on earth to save mankind from kali yuga. The famous Tirupati Laddoo, given as a prasad at the temple, has the Geographical indication tag, which means it can only be made and sold at the temple. It is hugely loved by the pilgrims and is generally included in the paid darshan tickets or can be bought from the laddoo counters inside the temple complex. Many devotees also tonsure their heads as an offering to Lord Venkateswara Swamy once their wish is fulfilled or to get rid of their sins and ego. It is done free of cost at  Kalyanakatta  buildings. Another popular ritual at Tirupati Temple is Thulabaram, wherein a devotee sits on one side of the weighing balance scale. In contrast, the other side is filled with materials (like sugar, jaggery, tulsi leaves, banana, gold, and coins) more than the weight of the devotee. This ritual is mostly performed with children and infants. The non-stop chanting of ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya,’ the mad pilgrim rush, and the 8-feet tall idol of Lord Venkateshwara – everything about the Sri Venkateshwara Temple is majestic. Spread over an area of 26 kilometers and is visited by nearly 50,000 pilgrims daily. The Padmavathi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Padmavati, consort of Lord Venkateswara, is situated at Tiruchanoor in Tirupati town. Many devotees believe they should visit Goddess Padmavati and seek her blessings before visiting Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala. There are other temples in Tirupati too that you can visit, including the Sri Kalahasti temple, Sri Govindarajaswami Temple, the Kondandarama Temple, the Parashurameshwara Temple, and the ISKCON temple. Tirupati is home to a unique geological wonder that you shouldn’t miss out on! The Silathoranam is a natural arch formed out of rocks and is located at the Tirumala Hills.

Must Know Before You Travel to Tirupati

  • Sarva Darshan Without Ticket: This is a free darshan where the pilgrims can enter the line and have darshan without any tickets
  • Slotted Sarva Darshan: Time slotted sarva darshan is where the pilgrims have darshan of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy without waiting in line and free of cost in a given time slot.

My vision is to make Andhra Pradesh zero-poverty state: CM N.Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asserted on Thursday that his vision was to make Andhra Pradesh a zero-poverty state.

“I want to see the Indian community on top in the world and 35 per cent of Telugu in the Indian community as number one. We should work for a zero-poverty nation, zero-poverty state and zero-poverty district,” he said.

Naidu, who took oath as the Chief Minister on Wednesday, said he prayed for the prosperity of the state and all Telugu people.

Underlining the need to remove economic inequalities, he said this was possible only through government policies.

He recalled the initiatives taken by him as the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh in this direction.

“CBN 1.0 started in 1995. We took governance, which was limited to the Secretariat, to the doorsteps of people. There was development and everyone has seen its results. World leaders came to Hyderabad. I did not invite them. They came on their own. They come wherever good work is done,” he said.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) termed the family system as the biggest asset of the country.

“The family recharges your energy, gives you security and happiness. The family system of India is a model for the entire world,” he said and mentioned that family proved to be his biggest support when he was in jail.

CM Naidu, who is set to assume charge as the Chief Minister on Thursday evening, made it clear that there would be no witch-hunting but those who have done wrong will be punished as per law.

He remarked that God has also ordained to protect good and punish evil.

CM Naidu, who led the NDA to a landslide victory, termed it a historic mandate.

“We have never seen such a huge public mandate. The strike rate of 93 per cent never happened in the state or the country's history,” he claimed.

Recalling his attachment to the Tirumala temple since his early days, he said it was the blessings of the Lord that he came up in life to become the Chief Minister and play a key role in national politics.

Referring to the failed assassination attempt by Maoists near the same temple in 2003, he said the Lord saved him from claymore mines.

“No one would have survived. He saved me so that I serve the state and the people,” he said.

The TDP supremo said he prays to Venkateswara Swamy every morning to seek blessings.

He alleged that the previous government tried to damage the sanctity of Tirumala and remarked that while other gods punish sinners after death, Venkateswara Swamy punishes in this life.
