I tried to find info on this company here but nothing comes up. Is anyone familiar with Sodha Travel. We had booked a trip with a company that we found our YESTERDAY... went bankrupt... so we need to make a change. Looking at only reputable travel agencies for a private tour. This one came to us though Zicasso.

Choose a few of interest, read some reviews and then get in touch with them for quotes or info.

*Please watch out for people on TA that recommend tour operators that they have not travelled with.

* For a safe, pleasant trip, always use independant Indian tour companies that are listed on Trip Advisor.

If you need any more help, just ask :)

All the best

Thanks spud.

Hope this helps!

REVIEWS: “I am very happy with Sodha Travel. They worked with me to put together an individual itinerary that was perfect for me. The hotels were great, the local guides and representatives were friendly, informative, and willing to share their love of their country, region, and faith. When an airline in India canceled many of their flights on short notice, Sodha’s colleagues in India, Orange, quickly made alternative travel arrangements (by car, train and plane) that allowed me to arrive in each city on the day planned and adjusted local schedules to accommodate this. They kept me informed and had my back the entire trip.” – Guru K.

From Road Trips to Staycations, Here’s Why RVshare Is Our Go-To for Festival Camping

  • By Tim Chan

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.

When it comes to traveling, few things are as stressful as finding a place to stay — and a way to get there. But as the summer travel season gets underway, savvy adventurers are discovering a better way to get around, that offers convenience, flexibility and a surprisingly good night’s rest.

That’s RVshare , the largest community for RV owners and renters, which offers more than 100,000 vehicles nationwide that travelers can book for road trips, tailgates and camping getaways alike. We recently took a vehicle from RVshare to Stagecoach , and it turned out to be the best traveling decision we could have made.

Founded in 2013, RVshare offers a variety of recreational vehicles for rent, from trailers and Airstreams, to vans and luxury motorcoaches. You can search by location, dates, number of guests, and other preferences, like a specific style of vehicle or something that’s suitable for kids and pets.

For our Stagecoach trip, we selected a luxe, 43-foot, fifth wheel camper , that came with a full kitchen, sitting room, two bathrooms and enough room to comfortably sleep six (no, seriously). While RVs often (unfairly) have a reputation of being pedestrian and basic, this was glamping at its finest, and we were spoiled with more space and amenities that we could have imagined (think working electric fireplace, massage chairs and a master bathroom with his-and-her sinks).

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Our RV was owned by Al, who drove the motorhome up from Temecula, a small town about 60 miles north of San Diego. Super friendly and accommodating, Al was quick to walk us through the trailer settings and help us get settled in. While you can correspond with the owners by messaging them on the RVshare site, we felt comfortable enough to give Al our number, and he texted throughout the weekend to make sure we were okay.

This is a good point in the story to mention that if you’ve ever been hesitant to travel in an RV, RVshare completely takes the intimidation factor away. Everything is broken down for you on their website, from the size of the vehicle to kitchen appliances and entertainment options (our RV had a big-screen TV that tucked down into a cabinet when not in use). The descriptions are accompanied by clear and accurate full-color photos of the interior and exterior of every rental option, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Eli Brown's Tour Essentials Include Air Jordans, Bose Headphones and His Just-Launched Streetwear Line

How to watch 'rupaul’s drag race all stars' season 9 online (and where to stream past seasons), 2024 acm awards: how to watch the show and performances online, donna summer's estate reaches settlement with kanye west over alleged 'theft' of 'i feel love', billie eilish releases highly-anticipated third studio album 'hit me hard and soft', 2024 acm awards: the complete winners list, the beach boys hold 'family reunion' at 'surfin' safari' spot in clip from band's documentary.

An RV also provides flexibility, whether you want to cook your own meals, have a place to entertain friends, or simply get into nature and explore places where hotels cannot be found. An RV offers more amenities and better comfort than camping, and more versatility than a traditional hotel stay.

We knew we would have a good time at Stagecoach but we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked our RV too. Coupled with the amenities and activities at the RV resort (think everything from a brand new pickleball court to an outdoor pool and sundeck), it was almost a bonus attraction for our stay. Of course, most of our weekend was spent at the actual festival, where we jammed out to Post Malone and Miranda Lambert, but the experience was enough to make us want to book an RV again for a proper road trip or staycation. As Lambert sang on stage about her “Hell on Wheels,” we were reminded that our RV was anything but. And the only thing better than staying there, was knowing we were just a few clicks away from doing it all again soon.

Air Travel Is Chaos. This Gear Will Help Get You Through the Exasperating Delays.

Hundreds of people waiting in a congested airport security check area.

By Elissa Sanci

Elissa Sanci is a writer on the discovery team. She has found that clear ice makes carbonated drinks taste better, and citronella candles don’t work.

Flight cancellations. Traffic jams. Train delays. Is any mode of transportation safe from massively frustrating obstacles? It seems not. For the past few years, airline travel specifically has been fraught with delays, staffing shortages and flight cancellations. And there’s no guarantee that travel this summer will be without interruptions.

If this is the new normal of travel , the only way to make it through endless hours stranded in a terminal is to plan ahead. By packing the perfect carry-on (complete with an extra outfit in the event of lost baggage), you’ll have everything you need to make the delay a little more tolerable. Here’s the gear we’d bring to get through the stress and frustration of a travel delay.

A portable phone charger

sodha travel reviews

Belkin BoostCharge Plus 10K

The best power bank for phones, tablets, and more.

This power bank is small and light, and its rounded edges make it easy to slip into a pocket. It comes in only one color, but it has two built-in cables and enough capacity to charge most smartphones up to three times.

Buying Options

Most airports and train terminals have charging stations, but if the area is packed with frustrated travelers trying to juice up their devices, you may not be able to find a free outlet. Bringing along a portable power bank ensures that your devices don’t die before your departure. Compact and lightweight, the Belkin BoostCharge Plus 10K doesn’t take up much space in your carry-on, and it has the ability to charge two devices at once, so no need to play favorites between your phone and tablet.

An uber-long phone charger

sodha travel reviews

Cable Matters USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable

A powerhouse charging cable.

This 6.6-foot cable rated for 100 watts performs just as well as Apple’s MacBook Pro charging cable—for about half the price.

A long charging cable is ideal, especially if you do manage to snag a free outlet while preserving your power bank’s reserve. At 6.6 feet, the Cable Matters USB-C to USB-C charging cable will easily snake through airport lounges to juice up your devices. This powerful cord can even recharge large laptops (like the 16-inch MacBook Pro) at full speed. (And if you realize at the last moment that you’ve left your charger at home, here’s some buying advice to keep in mind when you hit up Hudson News.)

A compact travel pillow and an effective eye mask

sodha travel reviews

Trtl Pillow

A packable, one-sided neck pillow.

This space-saving travel pillow is ideal for side sleepers: It’s a fleece scarf with a built-in one-sided plastic brace. It’s not ideal for folks who shift position while they sleep, but side-sleepers will love its comfort and convenience.

sodha travel reviews

Alaska Bear Natural Silk Sleep Mask

A cozy, silk mask.

This silken eye mask feels wonderfully soft against the skin, and the adjustable strap fits it to almost any face.

If you have hours (or an entire night) to wait out before a flight, a nap may help stave off crankiness. A cozy travel pillow , along with an eye mask to block out harsh fluorescent lights, can turn an uncomfortable situation into a slightly more comfortable one.

The Trtl Pillow , ideal for side sleepers, supports your head from one side. It’s essentially a scarf with a plastic plate in it, so it packs down to the size of a sandwich and lays flat against the back of your bag. The Alaska Bear sleep mask, made of soft mulberry silk, breathes even when pressed against the skin and blocks external light well. You might not get the best sleep of your life, but some rest is better than none.

A reusable water bottle

sodha travel reviews

Takeya Actives Insulated Water Bottle with Spout Lid (22 ounces)

A water bottle that can adapt to any situation.

The spout on this bottle is easy to drink from (and simpler to use than a sports cap), and the flip lid stays secure and out of your face.

Sipping from your own bottle while waiting for your flight beats refilling the crushed plastic water bottle you overpaid for at the terminal. The Takeya Actives insulated water bottle was a crowd favorite during testing. It excels as a commuter bottle: Its plastic top features a spout with a twist-on flip cap, so you can drink on the go without the worry of water dribbling down your chin.

A calming game for the Nintendo Switch

sodha travel reviews

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A soothing video game.

This Nintendo Switch game offers mellow music, soothing colors, and undemanding gameplay.

Certain video games can be a great way to relax. Trade the chaos of the airport for a calming island that’s all your own. In the Nintendo Switch favorite Animal Crossing: New Horizons , you are plunked down onto a deserted island that you construct over time. If the idea of spending a few hours fishing, gardening, and catching bugs sounds like a soothing reprieve, this game (or something similar ) may be for you.

A way to read (or listen) to books

sodha travel reviews

Amazon Kindle (2022)

The best e-reader.

Amazon’s most affordable Kindle is also its most portable, with a 6-inch screen that has finally been upgraded with a higher pixel density for sharper text and support for USB-C charging. Those features bring it in line with far more expensive e-readers. The Kids version costs an extra $20 but comes with a slew of perks that make it an excellent option if you can spend a little more.

sodha travel reviews

A good audiobook subscription

An audio subscription from Audible includes a monthly credit for one ebook, along with two free original stories.

If you lean on books to get you through bouts of boredom, an e-reader is monumental. We recommend the Amazon Kindle (2022) : It has a massive, affordable ebook catalog, and the ability to connect to your library. The Kindle is also able to play audiobooks if you’re a hybrid reader who likes to switch between the two.

For folks who strongly prefer audiobooks, an Audible subscription is ideal. Each month, subscribers get access to one audiobook and two Audible originals. All you need is a good book and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones to enjoy.

Fun card games

sodha travel reviews

A packable card game

Unleash chaos in the airport with a round of Coup. It plays quickly, packs up small enough to easily fit in most bags, and encourages you to betray your friends.

If you’re traveling with a buddy, kill time with a card game that whips up some friendly rivalry. Coup , which hinges on deceit, ticks all the boxes a good travel game should: It’s small enough to fit in your bag, it doesn’t take up too much space on a table, and it’s a quick play, with rounds lasting around 15 minutes.

Good noise-cancelling headphones (or earbuds)

sodha travel reviews

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700

Excellent noise-cancelling headphones.

The Bose 700 over-ear headphones provide excellent noise cancellation in a comfortable, lightweight design that’s traveler friendly.

sodha travel reviews

Soundcore Space A40

The best noise-cancelling earbuds under $100.

This wireless pair of earbuds offers excellent noise cancellation, great sound, long battery life, and lots of extra features for an affordable price. But the touch controls are slightly limited.

Terminals are hectic, especially after mass delays and cancellations. Tuning out the noise can help you keep calm in a stressful situation, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t completely block out helpful announcements. The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are great because you have the option to turn off noise cancellation to be more aware of your surroundings.

The Soundcore Space A40 , a pair of noise-cancelling earbuds , is a more affordable option that offers good sound, and a 40-hour battery life. Once you’re officially en route to your destination, you can flip the noise-cancelling feature back on to drown out your surroundings and dial into your favorite comfort Netflix watch.

An app that helps you breathe through it

sodha travel reviews

A soothing meditation app

This user-friendly meditation app can hopefully bring you a moment of calm with its warm colors, adorable illustrations, and range of sessions.

A quick meditation session can help melt the tension from your shoulders. Headspace offers a large variety of meditations; we love the guided sessions for beginners, but the app also provides less-structured programming for pros. With a good pair of headphones, you can almost pretend you’re relaxing on a white sand beach and not in a hard-back chair outside a Hudson News.

I Never Forget My Running Belt (Because It’s Built Into These Leggings)

Portrait of Brenley Goertzen

The Strategist happens to be full of runners, so this week, we hit the ground running (literally), testing tons of running gear and interviewing experts to give every kind of runner all the intel they might need. Welcome to  Running Week .

When I ran college track at TCU, then at Cal, my coaches always encouraged me to listen to the sound of my feet hitting the ground, concentrate on my breath, and, of course, pack together with my teammates for miles and miles. I left my phone in the locker room and the only running gear I wore was my Garmin watch; the main goal was to minimize distractions and stay present through the pain.

After I graduated, I lost that daily practice routine. I started running alone and listening to music or podcasts, which meant packing my phone along with my keys and a small card case in a running belt . I had tried a few belts by the time I found the OG FlipBelt , which immediately became my go-to. I loved that it accommodated my essentials and always stayed put around my waist. It seamlessly blended in with my bottoms, and the continuous loop of stretchy fabric meant no clunky buckles digging into my sides.

After using the OG FlipBelt for several months, I became very intrigued by the brand’s leggings, which have a FlipBelt built in. And when the brand sent me a pair, I was not disappointed. The FlipBelt Mid-Weight Leggings have all the qualities I love about the FlipBelt — they’re sleek, lightweight, and comfortable to wear for hours — but the all-in-one design streamlined my running outfit in a way I didn’t even know was possible. They’ve also eliminated any chance of driving to a trailhead and realizing I’ve forgotten my FlipBelt at home, since it’s already attached to my leggings.

FlipBelt Women's Mid-Weight Leggings

The leggings themselves are high quality and provide the right combination of compression and stretch (I’m not constantly having to hike them up or stopping to pick a wedgie a few miles in). The high rise hits above my belly button, which gives my lower-abdomen extra support and coverage. Overall, the fit and feel remind me of a now-discontinued Lululemon pair that I refuse to get rid of. But unlike those Lululemons, this pair has the large front pocket of the belt, a zippered back pocket for keys, gels, my Airpods, and even a few treats if I’m jogging with my dog, plus drop-in side pocks on both legs. Altogether, that’s a lot of storage for a pair of leggings. Better yet, nothing moves around, so I can focus on the effort of the run instead of what’s jostling around in my pockets.

sodha travel reviews

FlipBelt makes a few other hybrid designs, too — including a pair of cropped leggings and a pair with thicker thermal fabric — but I’m sticking with the Mid-Weight leggings for their full length and sturdy-yet-breathable fabric. I would as happily wear them if I were training for a marathon or just running casually and would absolutely throw them on for long walks or hikes. And if I need even more carrying capacity, I just add a FlipBelt over the FlipBelt tights (yes, I’ve tried it, and yes, it works).

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments , rolling luggage , pillows for side sleepers , natural anxiety remedies , and bath towels . We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.

Amid hush money trial, when is Trump campaigning? How he's still crisscrossing the US

sodha travel reviews

Former President Donald Trump spends most of his weekdays in a lower Manhattan court listening to testimony in the hush money trial , but what does he do on the weekends? He campaigns for the White House, of course.

Before the first criminal trial against the GOP frontrunner began on April 15 , Trump's campaign was concerned that the grueling schedule would impact his ability to campaign for his Republican spot on the 2024 November presidential ballot. Trump himself told journalists he wished he was campaigning instead of in court, according to reporting from Politico.

Even with his trial obligations, Trump has been traveling around the U.S. on weekends and Wednesdays, when the court is not in session. He's also been using the media coverage of the trial to campaign from a distance and get his message out.

It's been five weeks since it began, and since then, Trump has made appearances in Wisconsin and Michigan in addition to his recent New Jersey visit on Saturday. On April 20, Trump was en route to a rally in North Carolina when it was canceled due to inclement weather.

Where will Donald Trump's following speaking engagements be?

  • Saint Paul, Minnesota on Friday, May 17 where he is expected to speak at the Minnesota GOP Lincoln-Reagan dinner
  • Dallas, Texas on Saturday, May 18 where he plans to speak at the NRA convention
  • Washington, D.C . on Saturday, May 25 to address the Libertarian Party Convention

Has Trump missed trial for campaign events?

Despite a social media post claiming Trump took the day off from trial to attend a campaign event, the event was during an off-day for the prosecution and Trump has not missed a day, according to a USA Today fact check.

Justice Clarence Thomas calls criticism of him ‘nastiness’ and ‘lies’

Justice Thomas offered some of his most extensive comments since news broke last year of travel and real estate deals paid for by businessman Harlan Crow.

POINT CLEAR, ALA. — After facing harsh questions about his judicial decisions and acceptance of lavish gifts from a billionaire, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas forcefully pushed back at his critics Friday — saying he and his wife, Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, have endured “nastiness” and “lies.”

Thomas targeted the maelstrom he has faced in Washington, offering some of his most extensive comments since news broke last year of travel and real estate deals paid for by Republican donor Harlan Crow, and since he has faced calls to recuse himself from cases related to the 2020 election because of his wife’s involvement with efforts to block Joe Biden’s victory.

“What you are going to find, especially in Washington, is that people are going to pride themselves on being awful,” Thomas said during the hour-long conversation with U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, a former clerk of his, at a judicial conference on the Gulf Coast, hundreds of miles from the nation’s capital. “It’s a hideous place.”

The justice went on to say that he maintains his positivity in work and life despite the tribulations. Still, he told his audience that he wished he had remained a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and that he “had no interest in public life” but felt called to it by God. He did not address any recent decisions by the court.

Thomas’s remarks were markedly different in tone from an earlier public appearance Friday by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, who said consistency, transparency and mutual respect are the keys to improving public trust in the judiciary at a time when support for the Supreme Court has dropped.

In a conversation in Austin with Chief Judge Priscilla Richman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, Kavanaugh acknowledged the polarization in the country over political and legal issues, especially since the Supreme Court in 2022 overturned the legal right to an abortion established decades earlier by Roe v. Wade .

He said judges and Supreme Court justices must clearly explain their interpretation of the law and apply those legal principles in a uniform fashion. “Individual decisions don’t have to be popular. … The losing party has to respect the decision,” Kavanaugh said at the 5th Circuit Judicial Conference.

“Consistency builds respect,” he continued. “It’s showing up every day in the courtroom and trying to be respectful to the parties, to write your opinion in a way that’s clear and understandable, to get out when you’re speaking and try to explain, to the bar, the judicial process, to try to be transparent and to be impartial as a judge.”

The two talks were part of a flurry of public appearances by members of the high court, which finished oral arguments for this term in late April and now is working on decisions for all the cases in which it has not yet ruled .

On Saturday morning, Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. delivered the commencement address at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. Dressed in a black cap and gown, Alito received a standing ovation from hundreds of students and their families after he was introduced as the author of the court’s majority opinion that eliminated the nationwide right to abortion.

In a speech that quoted from Shakespeare and the comedian Rodney Dangerfield, Alito urged the graduates of the Catholic university to “go boldly and engage the world.” He warned that they may soon find themselves “in a job or community or a social setting when you will be pressured to endorse ideas you don’t believe or to abandon core beliefs. It will be up to you to stand firm,” he said, adding that “there may be times when it’s necessary for you to speak up.”

Supreme Court 2024 major cases

sodha travel reviews

The court is poised to hand down numerous rulings on contentious issues before the current term ends in late June or early July. They include access to the abortion pill mifepristone , whether Donald Trump is immune from prosecution for election interference, and the scope of the powers of federal agencies.

Kavanaugh’s hour-long question-and-answer session with Richman also touched on the high court’s emergency docket, which in recent years has become a hotbed for highly consequential cases such as Texas’s immigration law — known as S.B. 4 — that expands the state’s role in enforcing border security.

In March, with the legal challenge to the statute’s constitutionality still pending, the Supreme Court declined to take emergency action to keep the law from taking effect. Hours later, the 5th Circuit issued an order blocking its enforcement while the appeal continues.

Kavanaugh said Friday that he understands that the court’s caseload has an effect on American life, far beyond academic and legal circles. In his remarks, Thomas also said the court will have to address the emergency docket.

“Real lives are being affected. Real people are being hurt or helped. You can’t lose sight of that,” Kavanaugh said. “It’s polarized. I get it. I’m part of the system. I understand. I see it.”

The justices’ public appearances come at a challenging moment for the court, amid tepid approval ratings, controversies over ethics and lavish gifts to justices.

A Marquette University Law School poll from February found 40 percent of respondents approved of the work the Supreme Court is doing, while 60 percent disapprove. Gallup’s ongoing opinion surveys show the court’s ratings by the public remain mired at near-record lows.

The spotlight on Thomas has been particularly glaring over his relationship with Crow. In a previous statement, an attorney for Thomas has said he is “confident there has been no willful ethics transgression, and any prior reporting errors were strictly inadvertent.”

In an interview Wednesday, Vice President Harris told the New York Times that she was alarmed by the current court and Thomas in particular.

“This court has shown itself to be an activist court,” Harris said. “I worry about fundamental freedoms across the board.”

In one of his last major speeches, shortly after a draft of the decision overturning Roe was leaked to the media, Thomas lamented the damage that incident caused to the court and likened it to infidelity. He offered a similar refrain Friday, waxing nostalgic about his early days as a justice. He has served on the high court since 1991.

“It would be inconceivable that anyone would leak in the court or do anything to intentionally harm one another,” Thomas said of that period on the court.

Kavanaugh did not address the ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which led to the overturning of Roe. Instead, he cited the 5-4 decision in Texas v. Johnson in 1989, which upheld flag-burning as speech protected by the First Amendment, in acknowledging that the high court sometimes issues unpopular decisions.

After the leak of the Dobbs draft, a man with a gun and a knife was detained by police near Kavanaugh’s Maryland home and charged with attempted murder. Nicholas John Roske of Simi Valley, Calif., was upset by the leaked draft as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Tex., according to an affidavit.

Kavanaugh called the heightened security measures that are now in place for the justices “night and day” from when he clerked for then-Justice Anthony M. Kennedy in the early 1990s.

“It’s a huge adjustment for your family,” Kavanaugh said. Referring to his two teenage daughters, he added: “You pray that there’s not a long-term impact on them.”

Liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor and conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett have been making joint appearances in recent months, showing a more congenial side to relations between justices despite the deep ideological divisions on the bench.

Raji reported from Austin. Marimow reported from Washington.

I visited the Guy Fieri restaurant that's on every Carnival cruise, and it was a far cry from an average fast-food joint

  • I tried Guy's Burger Joint, a  Guy Fieri -created restaurant that's on all Carnival cruise ships.
  • The menu has five different burgers and a wide array of toppings and sauces.
  • My favorite burger had two patties — one was made of beef and the other of bacon.

Guy Fieri has a burger restaurant on every Carnival Cruise Line ship, and I decided to try it.

sodha travel reviews

Carnival Cruise Line is known for its budget-friendly voyages and impressive lido-deck dining options, one of which is Guy's Burger Joint.

The restaurant opened in 2011 as a partnership between the cruise line and Guy Fieri , a chef and Food Network personality. Now, it's a staple on every Carnival Cruise Line ship and will also be on the upcoming addition to the fleet: the Carnival Jubilee.

When I sailed on the Carnival Elation , I decided to try the " roadside burger shack " for myself. Since Guy's Burger Joint is included in the price of the cruise, I stood in line for burgers and fries almost every day of our four-night cruise.

We didn't need a reservation but still made sure to check the operating hours on the Carnival HUB app ahead of time. On the Elation, Guy's Burger Joint was open from noon until 6 p.m.

The menu lists five burgers, and there's a language key to decode Fieri's iconic lingo.

sodha travel reviews

The restaurant is described as a "roadside burger shack," and it definitely felt like one.

The road signs were the first thing I noticed since they made the restaurant look like it actually sat along the iconic US Route 66. The red tile and dark wood paneling also played into the roadside diner theme without being too over-the-top.

The Guy's Burger Joint menu only has five burger options , but they encapsulate everything a person might want, from a plain burger to a loaded chili cheeseburger.

When I perused the menu, I noticed a lot of abbreviations. Luckily, there was a key underneath to help. It explained that "LTOP" stands for "lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle," and "SMC" is short for "super melty cheese."

The line at Guy's Burger Joint moved quickly, and it never took me more than five minutes to reach the front.

I ordered one of every burger so I could try all of them.

sodha travel reviews

When I first boarded the ship, I ordered one of every burger on the menu, along with a side of fries, to test out the menu.

That way, I could decide which burger would be my go-to selection for the rest of the weekend.

The sauce bar fell short of my expectations.

sodha travel reviews

After receiving my burgers on a metal tray with Guy's Burger Joint-themed parchment paper, I headed to the sauce bar.

Because the sauce selection at Fieri's Chicken Guy restaurant in Orlando was so impressive, I was slightly disappointed by the lack of options at Guy's Burger Joint.

There were only five sauces: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, ranch, and chipotle mayo.

I'm not a big fan of putting traditional condiments , like ketchup or mustard, on my burgers or fries, but the chipotle mayo always made its way onto my tray. It was creamy and spicy, making it a perfect topping for my burger and a delicious dip for my fries.

From grilled peppers to dill pickle chips, there were plenty of burger toppings to choose from.

sodha travel reviews

I loved the selection of hot burger toppings , which included grilled peppers, onions, and chili.

The cold options — pickled peppers, dill pickle chips, sliced white onions, sliced tomatoes, and shredded iceberg lettuce — were a little less inspired but still solid.

My favorite burger had two patties, and one of them was made of bacon.

sodha travel reviews

After trying the entire menu, I landed on the Pig Patty as my absolute favorite. It had two patties stacked on top of each other — one was a standard smashed patty with crispy edges and a cheese topping, and the other was made out of bacon .

The Pig Patty was indulgent and slightly greasy, two things I look for in a burger. It had so much flavor that I didn't use any extra toppings or sauces.

Fieri's signature condiment, Donkey Sauce, was slathered all over the Straight Up burger.

sodha travel reviews

I was excited to try the Straight Up burger, which had the same toasted bun and smashed burger patty as the Pig Patty.

The toppings were supposed to include cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and a generous slathering of Donkey Sauce (Fieri's signature garlic aioli).

When I got the Straight Up burger, it didn't have lettuce, tomatoes, or pickles, but it didn't really need them. The Donkey Sauce and cheese added plenty of flavor.

The Plain Jane burger is a safe, simple option.

sodha travel reviews

The Plain Jane, a grilled patty on a bun , was the item I heard ordered most frequently in line. I got mine with cheese, but it can also be ordered with just a patty as well.

It was a great option for kids who don't want a lot of extra dressing on their burgers. Personally, I wanted a bit more flavor, so I dipped the Plain Jane into some chipotle mayo.

The Ringer was topped with barbecue sauce and an onion ring.

sodha travel reviews

The Ringer was dressed up with cheese, a crispy fried onion ring, and Fieri's bourbon-and-brown-sugar barbecue sauce, which was a bit spicy.

All of the sauces made the burger a little messy, but it was nothing a napkin couldn't fix.

The one bad thing about the Ringer was that the onion ring got soggy fairly quickly. Next time I order it, I'll ask for a few onion rings on the side and eat them along with the burger.

The Chilius Maximus was an ideal order for chili lovers.

sodha travel reviews

The Chilius Maximus is loaded with melted cheese, chili, an onion ring, and Donkey Sauce.

I don't like chili, so I knew this burger would be my least favorite. So, I tapped on my dad, who loves chili burgers, to give me his honest opinion.

He said the chili wasn't too spicy, and its warm notes paired well with the garlicky Donkey Sauce. But again, the onion ring did lose its crunch after sitting on top of the moist patty.

The fries were such a hit that I ordered a serving every time I went to Guy's Burger Joint.

sodha travel reviews

Nothing goes better with burgers than hot fries, so I got some every time I ate at Guy's Burger Joint.

Even though the menu said the fries were hand-cut, they tasted more like frozen fries — but that's completely fine by me. They stayed crisp for a long time.

They were tossed in a spice blend that tasted like a mix of salt, paprika, and possibly garlic powder. I tried to get the chef to share the recipe but had no luck.

Beyond tasting delicious on their own, the fries were a perfect vehicle to get more of my favorite chipotle-mayo sauce into my mouth.

In the span of my four-day cruise, I ate around 10 burgers.

sodha travel reviews

The delicious burgers at Fieri's restaurant were a far cry from an average fast-food meal . I also loved eating at Guy's Burger Joint because it felt like stepping into Fieri's popular Food Network show " Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives ."

Whenever I walked by the restaurant, there were at least three or four people waiting in line. Clearly, it resonated with my fellow cruise-goers as well.

Guy's Burger Joint might not be the fanciest restaurant on the Carnival ships, but in my opinion, it's definitely the most flavorsome.
