Schnebly's Redland Winery
Price & Hours
- Facilities 5.0
- Atmosphere 5.0
You won't find grapes growing at Schnebly Redland's Winery, dubbed the southernmost winery in the United States. Instead, it makes wine using local tropical fruits like guava, mango and passion fruit. At this gem in Miami's rural farmland region, you can take part in a wine tasting at the taproom or enjoy a walking tour of the estate to learn how the tropical wines are made. In addition to single-fruit flavors ranging from avocado to lychee, Schnebly also produces award-winning signature blends and even sparkling wine varieties. Whether or not exotic fruit wines are for you, recent visitors praised the winery's beautiful grounds, with its lush foliage, serene waterfalls, koi ponds and tiki hut structures that provide shade while you wine and dine.
For $25 per person, you're able to select five wines to sample, which a bartender will pour for you into a souvenir engraved wine glass (you'll get to take it home as a memento). Once you've picked a favorite, you can always opt to purchase a bottle to take home or open it up right then and there to split with friends alongside a charcuterie board from the small market. Guided tours are offered hourly on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for $16 per person, but must be reserved online at least 24 hours in advance. The 30- to 45-minute tour of the estate covers the history of the Schnebly family and the process of making wine with tropical fruits instead of grapes.
If you have beer lovers in your group, make your next stop the on-site brewery (which, naturally, makes tropical fruit-based beers). Miami Brewing Company has its own expansive 10,000-square-foot taproom with games like cornhole and pool around the corner from the rest of the winery. Schnebly also offers a full-service restaurant called The Redlander open for brunch, lunch and dinner from Friday through Sunday, which serves a menu of seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers markets.
The winery is at least an hour drive from the center of Miami to the "countryside" of Homestead, Florida, but it's a worthwhile stop if you'll be making the day trip to any other attractions in the area, such as the Everglades , Fruit & Spice Park, or Knaus Berry Farm. Schnebly Redland's Winery is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Schnebly hosts frequent events like live musical acts, so there may be an extra cover charge during event hours, recent visitors warn. The winery is also a popular spot for weddings, proposals and other private events, so be sure to call ahead to confirm it'll be open to the public. For more information or to make your reservations, visit Schnebly Redland's Winery's website .

More Best Things To Do in Miami
#1 Miami Beach
Travelers go to Miami mainly for Miami Beach and they go to Miami Beach mainly for South Beach , the region's unrivaled crown jewel, which visitors say they can't get enough of. Here, the art deco history of the city meets the bright lights and vibrant nightlife of the younger generation.
There's something for everyone in Miami Beach – and a lot of it. White sand, an eclectic dining scene, prime shopping, luxurious spas and world-class nightlife are all staples in Miami Beach. Just make sure to bring plenty of cash – Miami Beach can be done on a budget, but you'll severely limit your options and it won't be nearly as fun.

This Stunning Winery In Homestead Serves Up Tropical Vibes & Fruity Wines
Schnebly Redland’s Winery is the perfect spot in which to un wine with a glass of tropical wine and soothing waterfalls.
Let’s be real, there’s nothing better than Miami and its buzzing city life but even so, we all feel like swapping the skyscrapers and busy streets for something a bit more relaxing from time to time. And what better spot is there than a hidden tropical garden that also doubles as a winery?
View this post on Instagram
The Southernmost winery in the U.S., Schnebly specializes in exotic tropical fruit wines — We’re talking coconut, guava, passion fruit, mango… the whole shebang! They even have an avocado wine, because who can live without avocado everything in this day and age.
If you don’t feel like touring the whole estate, don’t worry, you can always just sign up for a tasting, explore the compound by yourself or visit the winery’s restaurant, the Redlander.
This farm-to-table restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as avocado dippers, barbecue platters and grilled seafood that you can enjoy paired up with your tropical wine of choice. The Redlander is currently open for lunch, dinner and brunch from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday to Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p. m . and requires reservations, which can be made online on Schnebly’s website.
A waterfall in a tropical garden with a refreshing glass of vino sounds pretty much ideal right now if you ask me. So next time you’re feeling a bit agoraphobic and need a respite from the hectic Miami life, why don’t you pay Schnebly a visit?

Review: Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery
First impression? It’s less than an hour from Miami, but a visit to Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery feels like another world. Grab a seat in the luxurious outdoor garden and discover Miami’s early days as a swampland. Fortunately, this swampland comes with a great lineup of beer and wine, made just a cork’s throw from where you’re enjoying it.
How’s the crowd? Given its proximity to the Everglades , Schnebly largely caters to tourists and day-trippers. They’re also an adventurous crowd, as Schnebly’s claim to fame is wine made with fruit beyond grapes—including the world’s first avocado wine.
How are the drinks? By now, you surely know whether you prefer red wine or white. What you probably don’t know is whether you prefer it made of passionfruit, coconut, mango, lychee, guava, or avocado. But you’ll find out fast enough at Schnebly.
What do they have for food? All that beer and wine tasting can work up an appetite. Fortunately, Schnebly has a full-service, farm-to-table restaurant—the Redlander—right on-site. Like its beverages, the focus is both seasonal and local. Standouts include coconut shrimp with a sweet chile sauce, jumbo seared scallops, and a seafood pasta plate overflowing with shrimp, scallops, and mussels.
Did the staff do you right? Because Schnebly has both its own winery and brewery, throwing back a drink or two here is as educational as it is thirst-quenching. The staff makes sure you know everything there is to know about what you’re about to imbibe.
Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? Spending a day in the Everglades can be exhausting. Whether you’re heading straight back to the city or spending the night nearby, there are few better ways to end your adventure than with a culinary one. Plus, where else are you going to have a cold glass of avocado wine?
