Complete Saputara Tour Guide – Day 3 Saputara Itinerary

This blog post is in continuation from the previous one where I spoke about our Day 2 Saputara itinerary . In case you have not read it, I suggest you go back to our Complete Saputara Tour Guide blog post and start from there. That will help you plan your Saputara itinerary better.

Day 3 was our final day in Saputara and we were to head back to Ahmedabad at the end of the day. Hence the places that were on the list today were the ones that are on the way to Ahmedabad. Day 2 was a tiring day as we had covered so many places that most of us crashed immediately as we returned. Apart from the travel, the most exciting part of Day 2 was getting to know everyone.

Day 3 Saputara Itinerary

Our last day started with a wonderful Gujarati/Marathi breakfast at our hotel – Toran. We all were well aware that it was our last breakfast at Toran. Everyone from our friends from Mumbai and people working as well knew that this might be the last time we meet. Soon after breakfast, we had a group photo session. It was followed by a round of selfies and finally, we were on our way.

Places To Visit on Day 3

Gira waterfalls, waghai botanical garden.

• Sunset Point

One of the things about hill stations is that you will definitely have a few waterfalls. Either on a river or due to rain. Waterfalls in the misty monsoon weather make us fall in love with the place. Having visited Girmal Waterfalls during Day 2 of Saputara Trip, we knew that Saputara has some great waterfalls. While Girmal is located inside Purna Wildlife sanctuary, Gira is located quite close to the Waghai Waterfalls. It’s about a 2-hour drive from Saputara.

The entry ticket here is Rs 10 per person, and you need to walk a good distance to reach the falls. On the way, there are local artisans selling handcrafted bamboo products and local delicacies that you can purchase. I bought a pack of Nagali Papad and Bamboo Pickle. At the end of a 10 minutes walk, you get the first glimpse of the might Gira waterfalls.

Unlike Girmal waterfalls, you can get very close to the Gira Waterfalls and experience it. The falls are a mini replica of Niagara falls. The terrain close to the waterfall is rocky making it a great place to sit and lose yourself in nature. We were here in the afternoon and would recommend you visit early in the morning or late in the evening as the sun plays a spoilsport. Overall a great spot to spend time in Saputara and our Saputara tour guide won’t be complete without this

Post our visit to Gira, we had a quick lunch. We had packed Aloo Paratha and I ordered a couple of plates of Sev Tameta. There aren’t many restaurants near Gira , so I’d suggest either pack your food or rely on Maggi and Soda. As mentioned earlier, Gira is located close to Waghai Botanical garden and it took barely 10 mins to reach Waghai.

The landscape soon dotes lush green forests and tall trees as you reach the Waghai Botanical Garden. Established almost 4 decades ago, Waghai botanical garden is the largest garden in Gujarat with over 2 lakh people visiting it every year. Spread across an area of 24 hectares, this botanical garden is huge. Even larger than the botanical garden in Coonoor .

The garden has a huge variety of plants and trees. Since there are so many, one might not know about all of them. Hence they have developed an Android App – Floral Safari – which you can download. Every tree in the Waghai Botanical garden is marked with a number. You just need to enter this number on the app to get all the details about it. While I strongly suggest a guide as you can easily get lost over here.

If you are a plant lover, you will love this place and would not want to leave. Even a few hours is not enough and you might need a complete day to explore the entire garden. There’s also a souvenir shop at the exit where you can buy local handicrafts and food items. I purchased a few boxes of Nagali cookies.

Other places to vist in Saputara

While we concluded our Saputara trip at Waghai and went onwards to Ahmedabad, you can very well come back to Saputara and explore other places during the remaining time you have. Most of these places are again within the city and hence you can quickly cover them. The other places that you can visit in Saputara are:

It’s been more than a few weeks that I’m back home from this awesome Saputara Trip. I would like to thank Gujarat Tourism along with the Ministry of Tourism for inviting me to experience Gujarat ki Aankhon ka Taara. The trip was a wonderful one and we explored a lot of places. I strongly suggest you explore the place on your own as well, you’ll surely find some offbeat photography spots.

2. Artist Village

The Artist Village of Saputara is located merely a few kilometers away from Satpura Lake. It’s a gorgeous village near the Nasik road that exhibits spectacular artifacts of Bamboo, tribal art, clothes, and many other things representing the Dang way of living. This is the main tribe of the village of Bhil, Warli, and Kunbi that are renowned for their benevolence and will let you try your hand at creating some of these works of art in their own workshops as well. So, other than simply buying these beautiful artworks, make sure you put your skills to test and try crafting their art yourself.

Departure for Saputara at 4:00 a.m from ahmedabad / nearby desired destination. Arrival at saputara arround 1 p.m. Transfer to hotel, lunch at hotel. Rest, enjoy the hotel / resort amenities. After 4 pm, Visit of Artist village & Table land with sunset point till evening. Return to hotel. Have a Dinner,Enjoy Tribal dance programme & campfire activity, over night stay at hotel.

Day 2 : , Shivji temple

After breakfast, go for morning trekking. Lunch at hotel. In noon, Visit of Tribal museum, Honey bee centre, Shivji temple. In evening,do Boating & Ropeway activity. Return to hotel. Musical programme in late evening, Dinner. OverNight Stay.

Join Blue Hens as they travel the State of Delaware June 6-8

The final itinerary for the 2024 University of Delaware 302 Tour is set! Join Blue Hens as they travel the State of Delaware from Thursday, June 6, through Saturday, June 8.

The tour begins in New Castle County with partners WSFS Bank at Humane Animal Partners, where the Hens and WSFS associates will volunteer at the animal shelter. Another group will head to the Community Education Building in Wilmington to tour the facility, donate items to the family resource center and visit with students from Kuumba Academy. The tour partner, Saul Ewing, presents the visit to CEB.

After lunch provided by sponsors Raising Cane’s, the cohort heads to the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library for an educational afternoon. The day concludes with a field day with the Hens – a free event open to the public where community members can enjoy ice skating, swimming, and field activities with the Blue Hens. Those interested in coming should  register in advance . The event is supported by corporate sponsor, Bank of America. At the field day, Grotto’s Pizza will provide dinner. 

Friday finds the Hens in Kent County at the Dover Air Force Base to visit students at schools on base and then tour the Air Mobility Command Museum. The day continues at Fifer Orchards for fruit picking and fun farm activities in conjunction with partner Visit Delaware. Day two ends on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry for Rock the Boat, where the public can join the tour for a ferry ride to Cape May and back. The final day of the tour kicks off at The Starboard for the Chicken Chase 5k and 1 Mile Walk. The Hens will cheer on the participants and give out water and medals at the finish line.  Registration is still open for those looking to participate . From there, the tour heads to the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays for a discovery program to learn about aquatic life. The team will fuel up with lunch provided by Surf Bagel before heading to the final destination.

The tour concludes at Delaware Seashore State Park for a beach bash from 3 to 5 p.m., where the public can enjoy the Delaware beaches with the Hens. At the conclusion of the beach bash, the tour moves into the Big Chill Beach Club for the 302 Tour Reception from 5 to 7 p.m., presented in partnership with La Vida Hospitality.  Fans can join the crew by registering here.

At a distance of 1 km from Saputara Bus Station, Rose Garden is a pretty garden located in Saputara, Gujarat. Rose Garden is a beautiful garden that houses several species of roses. The roses found here are of different colours, shapes and sizes. 4 Saputara Tribal Museum

At a distance of 1 km from Saputara Bus Station, Saputara Tribal Museum is a small museum located on Surat - Nasik Road in Saputara. It is one of the important tribal museums in Gujarat and among the best Saputara Tourist Places. Also known as Saputara Museum, the museum is a place of great cultural and historical significance. Established in 1970, this museum was built in order to portray the life history and the methods used by the Dang tribe in particular, but it also represents the culture of Bhils, Kunbis, Gamits, and Warlis amongst other tribal communities of the region. This unique museum has gained importance due to the large number of interesting artefacts and handicrafts put on display here. The collection of the museum depicts the everyday life of the tribal communities of the region. There are nearly 420 artefacts exhibits in the possession of the museum. 5 Artist Village

At a distance of 1 km from Saputara Bus Station, Artist Village is a magnificent place to see and buy tribal artifacts in Saputara, Gujarat. Situated opposite to Saputara Lake, it is one of the must visit places in Saputara. Artist Village, popularly known as Gandharvapur artist, is a lovely spot afloat with beautiful artefacts. Run by Surya Goswami and Chandrakant Parmar, it is regarded as the cultural and traditional center of the region. It exhibits spectacular artifacts of the native tribes that include bamboo craft, warli paintings, jewellery and pottery etc. Artist Village is a good place not only to see and buy artefacts but also to get your hands to work and learn about the culture of this region, especially for school groups.
