Ricardo Arjona born Edgar Ricardo Arjona Morales is a Guatemalan singer-songwriter and one of the most successful Latin American artists of all time.

Born on the 19th January 1964 in Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala, Arjona’s early life was spent playing basketball for the National Team touring around Central America and teaching in a primary school.

At the age of 21 Arjona signed with the label PolyGram through which he released his debut album “Déjame Decir Que Te Amo” in 1985, and who keyholed the singer as a stereotypical Latin-lover. Unsurprisingly the album failed. Three years later when Arjona was 24 he represented Guatemala in the OTI Festival performing the song “Con Una Estrella En El Vientre” which led to the release of his second album “Jesús, Verbo No Sustantivo” which brought Arjona significant commercial success becoming a best-seller in many Central American territories.

Ricardo Arjona is highly respected in Latin American music due to his socially conscious approach to songwriting. Highlighting the inequalities of capitalism and imperialism and addressing issues such as love, sexuality, racism, violence and immigration among many others, leading to Arjona long been referred to as a protest singer. After enjoying consistent commercial success under the Song BMG record label Arjona signed a long-term deal with Warner Music Latina in late 2008.

The Guatemalan has released a total of 14 studio albums, four of which have top the Billboard Top Latin Album Chart including the thirteen-platinum album “Tropico” and the double platinum album “Santo Pecado”, one live album , nine compilation albums and no fewer than forty-three singles. His music has earned the singer a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for “Adentro” in 2007, a Latin Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Album also for Adentro in 2006, as well as a Rafael Álvarez Ovalle Order from the then President of Guatemala, Ramiro de León Carpio, for his international accomplishments.

Ricardo Arjona live is a visually impressive, fun, exciting show. The concert I was at had a large TV screen playing 3D animated footage of roads and other things that made one feel as if they were on a roller coaster ride of a concert.

As one of the most successful Latin artists of all time he doesn't have to try, but he still does and we should all be thankful for it. As one poppy Latin song comes to an end he belts out notes very few artists could make sound good and moves on to slow, haunting Latin ballads.In these he stares into the souls of his audience. He shows them his soul and they show him theirs. The audience sways with the rock ballad guitar playing just loudly enough to accentuate his lyrics of life and love.

Ricardo pulls no punches even with all of his success. He just keeps getting better and better. The lights flicker and the audience sings along to the ballads they all know, until the very last note is struck and they all cheer...and then the encore, slower, softer, and even more lovely. There is nothing quite like Ricardo Arjona live singing directly to your soul.

Edgar Ricardo Arjona Morales better known by his stage name of Ricardo Arjona is one of Guatemala's most well known musicians with his unique take on latin pop. It is incredible to think that his first album was released three decades ago, and since then Ricardo has seen his reputation grow substantially.

He is an unashamed showman and this confident persona goes down fantastically with his loyal fan base. He struts onto the stage in time to the brass introduction of 'A la luna en bicicleta' and this confirms to the audience that they are in for quite a show. The cheers are deafening and Arjona approaches the microphone with a bold grin and says his first thank you of the evening before strumming the guitar introduction of 'Acompáñame a ester solo'.

The audience cheers him on continuously during complex instrumentals and huge versions of his pop classics. The whole show is a visual experience and the crowd leaves the venue safe in the knowledge they have witnessed the very highest calibre of latino pop music.

Fue increíble. Me encanto todo. Canto increíble y constantemente. Sus músicos tocan fabuloso y su Circo show estuvo muy divertido. Pero Ricardo estuvo increíble. Todos cantaron con el y aún así su voz hermosa se seguía escuchando. Me dio mucho gusto que le allá dado una oportunidad a la cuidad de Sacramento. Todo mundo estaba cantando con el se miro que todos estaban igual de emocionados que yo.

Sensacional!!!! Gran show, gran artista, buena voz, grandes músicos, geniales letras, mil por ciento recomendable!! Una gran experiencia que valió la pena para toda la vida, única y espectacular!!! Buena atmósfera, excelente escenario, todo fue fenomenal!!!!

Just awesome! He was so engaded with public. I was close enough to make eye contact with him a couple times. Show is great. Sang beautifully and included a lot of the most popular songs. Defiantly recommend it. Loved it all the way.

Amazing voice...best talent...he sang and sang non stop like 17 songs in total....I recommended 100%...people were all in that sang and he pick someone from the public kiss her respectfully and sang to her very nice class

A must see. Excellent experience. He is a genius. His songs reach everybody's heart. He is one of those genius that are born one in a century. One need to see him; it is an experience that last a life time.

The most amazing show I’ve ever attended!! The Microsoft Theatre was very clean and staff was professional and friendly! Ricardo Arjona is a crowd pleaser and had everyone on their feet all night!!

Super fun concert !! He had circus acts behind him it was super cool to see . Most of all to be able to share it with my mom and enjoy the same music was the highlight of it all .we sing so much!

Ricardo Arjona anunció nueva fecha en Miami de su gira “Blanco Y Negro Tour 2022”

El pasado 8 de octubre salieron a la venta los boletos para la gira “Blanco Y Negro Tour” de Ricardo Arjona , que lo llevará a recorrer un total de 23 ciudades de los Estados Unidos en la primera parte del año 2022.

Por supuesto, una de las paradas que no podía quedar por fuera del nutrido calendario de conciertos que tendrá el reconocido cantautor guatemalteco en el país; era la ciudad de Miami , que debido a la gran comunidad latina e hispana es uno de los destinos preferidos por los artistas para realizar grandes shows.

Y como era de esperarse, sus fans residentes en la “Ciudad de Sol” no decepcionaron, porque en menos de 15 días agotaron las entradas para el espectáculo del 3 de junio de 2022 en el FTX Arena. Noticia que dejo a muchos tristes y decepcionados luego de que fuera revelada por el propio Arjona en sus redes sociales.

El artista anunció las fechas de su gira en blanco y negro para el 2022..

La gira más esperada del 2022 ya tiene fecha de salida. Este 8 de octubre estarán disponibles los espacios para acudir a la gira de un artista que ha marcado un antes y un después en el mundo del espectáculo latinoamericano.

Más de un millón y medio de personas vieron en vivo su anterior tour Circo Soledad , y más de 3 millones de personas presenciaron Hecho a la antigua , el streaming más visto en la historia de la música iberoamericana.

Blanco y Negro se asoma como la apuesta más atrevida del artista defendiendo dos de los mejores discos de su carrera grabados en los emblemáticos estudios Abbey Road en Londres.

“El término  legendario  a menudo se usa en exceso en nuestra industria, pero parece inadecuado cuando se describe a Ricardo Arjona. Este verdadero hombre renacentista ha trascendido las fronteras de su Guatemala natal para convertirse en la voz del hombre común en todo el mundo. En un nuevo comunicado, Albareda dijo el miércoles que “le enorgullece profundamente reunir [a Arjona] con sus fans” en este tour.  

La gira Blanco y Negro y sus nuevas fechas extendidas le siguen a su concierto en vivo Hecho a la Antigua, que fue filmado durante la pandemia desde la histórica ciudad de Antigua, en Guatemala, con más de 30 músicos y más de 5.000 velas.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
