Starting Price Tour of Tuscany & Wine Tasting

Taking Photos of Chianti in Tuscany

This is a more economic tour if you would like to enjoy the iconic Tuscan countryside but only have a casual interest in wine. Of all my wine tours, this is the one that puts a little more emphasis on the landscapes. However we’ll still be enjoying some great Chianti wine tastings. It also has a slightly lower price tag, and for four or more participants, the fee equals or betters those for group tours. Why do a group tour when you can have the comfort and flexibility of a vehicle and driver all for yourselves? Though less wine focused than my other tours, we still have two winery visits with tasting of Chianti and Super Tuscan wines. The tour departs directly from your accommodation in Florence: other locations on request.

My private Tuscany cooking class is a full immersion in the traditions of the Tuscan dinner table. You could consider it a course on how to how to prepare the perfect Sunday lunch. A Chianti wine tour and personalized photo shoot in the vineyards, with Sandro Fabbrini one of the top professionals of the area. Couples, families and friends will have the perfect memory. Of course we’ll also be enjoying wine tasting at one of my guest’s favorite wineries, from my Wine Lover’s Tour , plus a Tuscan light lunch at a local restaurant. I’m a state licensed driver with access to limited traffic areas, therefore all my private Tuscany wine tours depart directly from your accommodation.

Brunello di Montalcino Wine Tour from Florence

Brunello di Montalkcino wine cellars

It’s a two hour drive from Florence to the Brunello wine region, which is situated in central Tuscany around the town of Montalcino. Brunello is one of Tuscany’s and the world’s most prestigious wines, so lovers of excellence will have plenty to be happy with. Brunello is a diminutive of Bruno (brown), which refers to the color the wine assumes, with it’s extended aging period. It can only be put on sale five years after the harvest, but it’s considered to be at it’s best from ten years upwards. We visit two wineries for extended stays of about one and a half hours, and also visit the tiny medieval town of Montalcino. This tour is carried out by my partner Maurizio Bellini.

A private Tuscany wine tour isn't just about about reaching the next winery. It's about enjoying the journey as an experience in itself. The beauty of Tuscany has much to do with nature, but man has improved what nature gave. It was during the renaissance that a new philosophy of combining farming with landscaping was conceived, and the concept still exists today. This is where you'll find some of the world's most breathtaking scenery, making each turn of the meandering roads a new and vibrant experience. Oh! The wine's pretty good too.

Testimonials

Our Client’s Words

You can read here what some of our clients had to say about our Tuscany wine tours. Imagine what we could do for you!

My wife and I took Angie’s Castle & Wine tour in late May. We had a fun, small group with Barbara as our guide. Barbara was very genuine and truly expressed an interest in wanting all of us to enjoy our day, as well as our time in Tuscany Would I recommend the tour? Yes, without a doubt. If you are a red wine drinker, these are smaller producers that you are most likely not able to purchase in the U.S. They make excellent wines, so treat yourself and send some home Our wines arrived in four weeks. Grazie Mille Angie and Barbara for a terrific day!

We had an excellent wine and castle tour day. Federico was an exceptional guide and we had a wonderful time touring and tasting wine and olive oil. We would like to also mention the fantastic lunch we had it was memorable. We would highly recommend this tour.

An amazing day touring the Tuscany wine region! I would especially like to thank Francesca for making my 50th birthday a memory I will treasure forever! Her knowledge of wines, the countryside, olive oil, etc. was extraordinary! The wineries and the owners (Stephania and Marco) were excellent hosts and provided us with samples of the most amazing wines and olive oils. I would highly recommend your company to anyone visiting the Tuscany region! Again, thanks!!!

I went on a wine tasting tour with Angie a few years ago and because of the great experience I booked again for May 2013. Angie’s tour was already fully booked so we were in Olivia’s group, another awesome day! The whole region is beautiful and there are plenty of tour operators but for me Angie’s personal service and small groups make her the go-to company for your Tuscan wine tasting tour. A bonus with the smaller groups is that Angie takes you to small and medium sized wineries, not the giant mass production places, so you really get face to face time with the owner/winemakers.

Angie’s blog

My name is Angela and this is my Tour Operator business specialized in Tuscany wine tours in Chianti and Super Tuscan wines . I studied for the sommelier qualifications recognised by the Province of Florence. In 2005, I set up my own company, TuscanyTourTime snc., based in Florence, and began offering minibus tours of the Tuscan wine territories.

Creating Tuscany wine tours is a result of my main passion for wine and for the wine countryside, so I’ll be happy to accompany you in exploring this beautiful wine territory as an old friend who will help you discover the most authentic parts and will assist you to fully understand Tuscan wine, be it a Chianti Classico, Brunello, Nobile di Montepulciano or a Super-Tuscan wine.

My wine tours from Florence to Tuscany are designed with special care, selecting only the finest vineyards that produce excellent wines and where possible organic quality wine.

Here, in my blog, I’ll tell you my point of view on wines and Tuscan tastes. Enjoy the reading!

12 Best Wine Tours and Tastings in Florence

By Erica Firpo

Podere le Ripi Winery overhead Val d'Orcia

A nearly 9,000-square-mile region of rolling verdant hills, salty coastline, and picturesque hilltop hamlets, Tuscany is an incredible play land for the eno-curious. The region's heavy-hitters are many, from Chianti Classico, to Brunello, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano—and, of course, the famous Super Tuscans. It's filled with landmark wineries and epic winemakers who know it, so they've created incredible experiences and tasting rooms to attract visitors, from fairytale to futuristic, combing natural landscapes with award-winning architects. Whether you've only got time for a light tasting or want to make a day out of a full regional experience, we've got you covered. Exploring this countryside is the tastiest way to truly understand Tuscany, which is why we've picked our favorite wine tours and wine tastings in Florence.

Italy Florence Winery Badia a Cultibuono

Badia a Coltibuono Arrow

Badia a Coltibuono is set in a beautiful landscape of rich greens near Siena. Its charming medieval building, a historic abbey with a romantic atmosphere, looks like the backdrop to a Raffaello painting. Guests reserve their Chianti tasting in advance, so you can be sure that everyone here has done their research—you'll be in good company. The entry-level wine tasting, though well planned, doesn't include snacks. If you're looking for a bite, go for the more advanced tasting, which includes charcuterie and bruschetta.

Default

Cantina Salcheto Arrow

Cantina Salcheto enjoys an enviable and jaw-dropping location—in the beautiful hills of Montepulciano—and manages to toe the line between rustic and futuristic, if that's possible. The 40-acre main vineyard is Tuscany at its best: rolling hills, rich colors, and a state-of-the-art cellar that's impressive in looks and, of course, in inventory—here, you're drinking Rosso di Toscana IGT and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. There's no food in the basic tasting, but you can upgrade to the paired tasting or enjoy lunch at Salcheto's onsite enoteca.

Italy Florence Winery Rocca di Frassinello Winery

Rocca di Frassinello Arrow

Rocca di Frassinello is a beautiful and modernist winery designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. The feat of geometry—whose rich ambers and reds seem to fold into the greens of Grosseto along Tuscany's coastline—is a must-stop for architecture buffs and oenophiles alike. Rocca di Frassinello isn't the kind of place you just happen upon—Maremma, in the south of Tuscany, is rugged cowboy country, so there are no crowds; rather, you'll be tasting cult favorite wines alongside well-researched and well-traveled culture vultures.

Italy Florence Distillery Ornellaia

Ornellaia Arrow

Ornellaia, which produces superb Super Tuscans that most can only dream of tasting, is one of the most exclusive wineries in Tuscany, and it's the perfect place to come with wine-loving friends. The landscape itself is worth the trip, with verdant and beautifully landscaped hills dotted with castle and towers here and there along the coastline between Livorno and Grosseto. Visitors will gain a fully immersive lesson in the world of winemaker Axel Heinz's Super Tuscans and innovative wines, which are favorites among collectors sommeliers the world over.

Italy Florence Winery Castello di Ama

Castello di Ama Arrow

Located in a beautiful medieval hilltop town just north of Siena in Chianti, Castello di Ama feels like an old-fashioned fairytale—one that also happens to be a destination for contemporary art. Lush vineyards produce award-winning wine; gardens are a backdrop to 14 site-specific works and installations by 13 international artists, a combination that attracts wine connoisseurs and art lovers alike. The tour and tasting of Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG also includes bruschetta, though if you're looking for something heartier, the surrounding picturesque village has an enoteca.

Italy Florence Winery Franco Biondi Santi Tenuta Greppo

Biondi Santi Tenuta Greppo Arrow

One of the most popular wineries in the world, Biondi Santi's tours and tastings are superbly rated—for good reason. This is the seat of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most popular reds coming out of Tuscany around the world. When you book, you're asked a series of questions relating to your knowledge of and interest in wine; from there, you'll be matched with a guide and tour type. Even those with little (or no) knowledge can enjoy the sweeping views and the history of the vineyard, as well as the universally edifying experience of learning about a trade and practice.

Italy Florence Winery Antinori nel Chianti Classico

Antinori Nel Chianti Classico Arrow

Antinori nel Chianti Classico is nothing if not monumental: a striking contemporary sculptural edifice that epitomizes the winery's impact on Italy's history and culture. Antinori is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) producers of wine, and one of the most historic: the label defined, and then redefined, Chianti Classico, upgrading it from a table wine to a prestige one. The architecture, designed by Marco Casamonti, best exemplifies this grandeur. Antinori plays the classics; expect plenty of silky Chianti Classico.

Altesino Arrow

Altesino is a postcard-perfect Italian country villa off a charming dirt road in the Montalcino hills. The late-14th-century Palazzo Altesino sets the stage for an elegant wine. Visits are private; often it's only you, your group, and the winemaker. The focus is Altesino's award-winning wines, from Brunello di Montalcino DOCG to Rosso di Montalcino, and you can also a enjoy a decent snacks pairing. The beautiful location promises to win everyone over, no matter how much they know about wine.

Italy Florence Tours Divine Tours

DiVine Tours Arrow

DiVine Tours offers a series of bespoke wine tours around Tuscany and other select parts of Italy—Umbria, Sicily, Puglia, and Piedmont, among others—all of which are highly personalized and professional. Miriam, DiVine's owner and founder, is a consummate professional who hires top-notch guides and experts. Her tours are very organized and very easy to understand, and you can customize pretty much everything. These tours are excellent for those interested in attaining robust knowledge of area wineries and their history, but they're not for people who don't like wine.

Italy Florence Winery Volpaia

Volpaia Arrow

A walled hamlet on a Chianti hill, Volpaia is the quintessential Tuscan wine fantasy visit. The town itself is charming and the castle drips with Florentine history, having served as a key defensive outpost for the Florentine Republic during its heyday. Volpaia wines are exceptional Chianti Classicos, and that's what you'll learn about on a private tour. The staff is very personable and friendly—but most importantly, they know and love Volpaia, and that enthusiasm is infectious.

Podere le Ripi Winery overhead Val d'Orcia

Podere Le Ripi Arrow

A beautiful Tuscan drive through winding rustic roads ends at Podere le Ripi, a photogenic winery with a modern reception and tasting area. Winemaker Francesco Illy (of the Illy coffee family) is known industry-wide as an innovator; his wines are biodynamic—and he himself is dynamic, too. After a tasting and snack, you'll leave with one key takeaway: that you can at once embrace and buck tradition while still creating great wine.

Italy Florence Winery Fèlsina

Fèlsina Arrow

Felsina's picture-perfect stone entrance comes into view after you've slowly meandered around the hills and valleys of Chianti—and what a sight it is. Here, the mentality is purist; everything you eat comes from the surrounding land. The olive oil is from single cultivars, and the oil-making process strictly adheres to Veronelli's rules of pressing. You can have a simple Chianti wine tasting, a wine tasting with a light lunch, or a wine and olive oil tasting with lunch alongside other wine lovers, culinary travelers, and anyone interested in the hows and whys of wine- and olive-making.

What are the best wine tours in Tuscany from Florence? How far is Tuscany wine region from Florence?

With my 100% Italian family still residing in the northern province of Cuneo (my maiden name!) and my grandfather’s homemade wine running through my veins, I can attest to Tuscany’s reputation as one of the best wine regions in Italy.

So, if you’re a wine lover visiting this iconic destination in Italy, you definitely don’t want to miss out on the region’s famous wines! From bold Chianti Classico to delicate Brunello di Montalcino, there are dozens of wine tours that will give you a taste of Tuscany’s impressive and diverse wine production that conveniently depart right from Florence.

But, in complete honesty… who wants to spend hours behind a computer researching the top wine tours from Florence trying to figure out which one is the perfect fit for their group? I do. And I did!

⭐ 2,800+ 5-Star Reviews ⭐ 9 Wine Samples & 2 Olive Oil Samples ⭐Traditional Tuscan Lunch

This post was created by vetting dozens of local companies running their business out of Florence, among other popular regions in Tuscany. I scoured reviews, made note of what the tours included, and found the top 11 that are deserving of a spot on your Italian vacation!

I’ve also gone ahead and broken it down into the best overall tours for your money, the top private wine tours, the leading luxury wine tours in Tuscany, and for those of you who are short on time, even the best half-day Tuscan wine tours.

I’ve also included ample information after these tours on the best time to take a wine tour in Tuscany, how much these tours typically cost, if it’s actually worth taking one of these Tuscan wine tours, what to pack, and more!

Looking for one of the best full-day wine tours in Tuscany from Florence? Well, the Essence of Chianti Small Group Tour with Lunch was put at the top of this list for a reason! As crazy as it is to say, this tour has over 12,000 5-star reviews . Not only do you get to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside on horseback, but you’ll also enjoy an indulgent 3-course Tuscan lunch, some sightseeing time in San Gimignano, and a wine tasting at a local winery.

Definitely one of the best options on this list, it’s no wonder why this tour always books up months in advance!

🍷8. Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano Day Trip with Lunch & Wine Pairing

Some of the best wine tours from Florence include food pairings

Winner of Viator’s Badge of Excellence, the Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano Day Trip with Lunch & Wine Pairing is a perfect option for those looking to visit multiple iconic Tuscan destinations in one day while still experiencing the region’s wine culture.

Wine Tours & Day Trips in Florence & Tuscany – My Recommendations • Best Tour from Florence: Tuscany Wine Tasting • Best Tour from Siena: Chianti and San Gimignano • Best Tour from Rome: Tuscany Taster Tour • Best Wine & Food Tour: Tuscany Wine & Food • Best Private Tour: Chianti Wine Tour Best Private Wine Tour in Tuscany: The Chianti Wine Tour: Full-Day from Florence with Tastings Tip: Book early! Wine tours from Florence are very popular and sell out months in advance. I’ve listed more good ones below in case other recommendations are fully booked. Florence tours are typically very high quality and great value for what you get. Good Alternatives if Fully Booked Small Group Wine Tasting Tour to Tuscany (4.5 hours) From Florence: Tuscany Wine & Food Tour with Guide (8 hours) Full-Day Countryside Tour with Lunch (9 hours) – Siena, Wine Estate, San Gimignano The Best Wine Tours from Florence 1. Tuscany Wine Tasting Full-Day Trip This budget-priced wine tour is designed for younger travelers, aged 18 to 35. (They aren’t strict about the max age and will often say 41, 45, or 51 when asked about an upper limit – if you have a fun attitude you’ll be fine.) Leaving from Florence, the tour travels to San Gimignano, home of Vernaccia, Tuscany’s best white wine variety. The tour covers a little bit of the winemaking process but focuses more on tasting (read: drinking). Expect lots of laughs, gorgeous scenery, and big pours of several varieties of Vernaccia, rosés, Chiantis, and Super Tuscans, but remember you don’t have to finish every glass. After visiting two vineyards, the tour stops inside medieval San Gimignano for some free time to explore. An excellent all-ages alternative is the Small Group Wine Tasting Tour to Tuscany . 2. Grape Tours: Super Chianti This full-day, small-group excursion covers all the best in Tuscany, including informative guided tours of two vineyards and wineries, lunch at Dario Cecchini’s famous butcher shop in Panzano, and a visit to the quaint village Greve. Guided by an expert sommelier, guests will get an in-depth look into the full process of winemaking from grape to glass. Special attention is given during the tastings to show what gives Tuscan wines their distinctive characteristics. Learn how to identify specific features of wine, especially Chianti, Chianti Classico, and Super Tuscan, how to choose a great bottle, and how to pair wine and foods—all while surrounded by miles of luscious grapevines and olive groves. Also recommended: Chianti Private Wine Tour: Full-Day from Florence with Tastings 3. Tuscany Vespa Tour Flat out fun and exhilarating, this scooter tour visits a 12th-century castle for a tour of their vineyard and winery, followed by a wine and olive oil tasting, and tower climb for panoramic views of the Chianti wine country. Guests drive their scooters through winding hills, past villas, vineyards, and ancient olive groves. The drive is broken into two portions with an authentic Tuscan lunch (wine included) served in a rustic bistro overlooking a valley. Guides are very helpful and especially accommodating for those who haven’t driven a scooter before. All tours begin with a lesson in a quiet parking, and the drive itself is along low-traffic roads with slow speed limits. Also recommended: From Florence: Tuscan Countryside Tour on a Vintage Vespa 4. Walkabout Florence: Chianti Wine & Food Safari This full-day, four-wheel-drive tour explores some of the less accessible portions of the Chianti Classico region and focuses especially on Tuscan food traditions, olive oils, and wine pairings. Visit two wineries, one at an aristocratic villa and the other an award-winning vineyard, for an exclusive look at their winemaking process and olive oil mills. Enjoy a hearty, rustic lunch with jaw-dropping views at a popular, local restaurant. The tour finishes in Greve with a visit to the historic butcher shop (since 1729, one of the best-known in Italy for its salumi and its strange selection of gelatos topped with meats) and free time to wander the village, check out its church, wine museum, or cozy up to an espresso bar. 5. Under the Tuscan Sun: Chianti Shared Wine Tour Half Day The best half-day wine tour out of Florence. This small-group tour travels to two vineyards in the Chianti Classico region, offering a behind-the-scenes look into the full winemaking process from harvesting to fermenting to bottling. Both wineries offer tastings of three or so varieties from different vintages, mostly Chiantis with one or two Super Tuscans mixed in. Rates for morning or afternoon tours include a meal, as well as a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view of Florence. This half-day tour is ideal for travelers who have a limited amount of time in the city. Book the afternoon tour (start times are flexible), so that you have all morning to take in the city sights, before heading to the countryside for rich wines and a glorious Tuscan sunset. 6. Angie’s Personal Tour: Chianti & Super Tuscan Tour A full-day tour of boutique vineyards between Florence and Siena, highlighting the unique flavors of Chianti and Super Tuscan wines, alongside other local varieties of white and rosé. Tours can be scheduled for three wineries plus lunch or four wineries without lunch (don’t worry; there will be plenty of snacks) The first two wineries visited include tasting and tours of their vineyards and cellars, where the winemaking process is explained. The third stop focuses less on making wine and more on tasting and pairing. For tours with four stops, the final winery boasts a 12th-century cellar and a 14th-century olive grove.

Reviews about us

Me and my group were extremely happy with every tour. We used Tuscany wine tours twice during our May trip. The drivers were very kind and hospitable throughout the time together, they were helpful in giving us information and setting up lunches and wine tasting. Our experience with this company was 5*. Everything was just great and wouldn’t change a thing.

We had a very tight schedule for our only day in Tuscany and Tuscany wine tours was our only hope to allow us to visit the Chianti for a few hours and get to our cruise ship in Livorno later in the day. We had a group of 5 people and had reserved the minivan. This company truly made our single day in Tuscany perfect literally. I truly felt spoiled and will use them again if the opportunity arises.

Thank you for all the accommodations and last minute changes/requests. You made our vacation easy and stress free. We have fallen in love with Tuscany and we would recommend your services to anyone visiting Italy! And when my family and I come back, I will be sure to use your services again. Thank you for everything!

Wine and Food on Our Tuscany Day Tours

For both Tuscany private tours or small group tours we are going to bring you to one of three Wine Regions you desire to visit. For the wine lovers who are interested in the history of the visited vineyard and the production methods a complete vineyard tour can be provided. You will be taken around and shown the estate including the cellars where the precios drink is being aged. Lunch with a wine tasting can be included in such a wine tour. What can be nicer than a glass of fine wine paired with local specialties such as traditional Tuscan cold cuts, flavored cheeses, ribollita soup or mouthwatering pasta? Italian cuisine is world-famous for being very rich and sophisticated. But did you know that Tuscan cuisine is the leader in terms of diversity of food and drinks in Italy? Being an integral and important part of the culture of this country the gastronomic traditions developed over the centuries will be demonstrated during your trip.

1. horseback ride to san gimignano for tuscan lunch and wine tasting at chianti winery.

Woman riding a brown horse with fences and trees in the background.

Giddy up because this is easily the best wine tasting Florence can supply if you’re looking for a super rustic ( but totally awesome) experience.

I mean, what’s more, bucolic than trekking by horseback through those rolling hills and tapestries of vineyards?

Nothing that’s what. And as someone who rode horses every summer growing up, I absolutely loved this tour since it combines two of my all-time fave things – horses and copious amounts of vino.

Now, this horseback ride to San Gimignano means that you’ll spend a full day outside the city.

So, you’ll meander through the countryside on your trusty steed, breathing in the fresh air and getting an eyeful of picturesque scenery.

Then, once at the medieval town, you’ll feast on a 3-course Tuscan lunch washed down with a wine pairing of Chianti’s finest (so flipping good).

“We had a wonderful time! Max was incredible; very knowledgeable. The horseback riding was truly remarkable and the team there were kind and helpful matching all of us with horses suited to our riding experience. The winery was beautiful and the wine and food were unmatched.” Robert ( read more reviews now)

Actually, you can expect to sample 8/9 wines at this tasting. I know, crazy right? So, deffo pace yourself but so many epic wines.

So, yeah, this tour has some epic value. FYI, this 8-hour tour includes transfers to the riding stable via private vehicle.

And the horseback ride lasts around an hour so your butt won’t get super sore and you won’t start to smell like a horse.

You know, just in case you were wondering if you’d spend 8 hours in the saddle.

Note, kids under 6 can participate but must travel only in the minivan. Kids 6 and old over 1.10 meters tall will be allowed to ride.

Pro Tip: Do yourself a favor and wear long pants and boots for the ride. Chaffing free is the way to be. You can rent a car in Tuscany and do this trip on your own.

2. Chianti Safari to Tuscan Villas and Vineyards near Florence

Sure, all of these wine tasting tours give you an epic, immersive encounter with Tuscan winemaking. But, this tour takes the cake when it comes to getting off the beaten track.

See, this Chianti wine and food safari adventure literally takes you off-road in a custom 4×4 vehicle

So, you’ll be able to set eyes on parts of the Chianti Hills that most visitors never see.

Plus, during this full-day excursion , you’ll stop off at three different locations that are home to the best wine tasting Florence has ever seen.

Firstly, you’ll check out a grandiose winery owned by an aristocratic Italian family. There, you’ll receive a wine cellar tour and enjoy a lavish tasting.

Next, you’ll stop at a Tuscan winery and restaurant where you’ll have lunch and enjoy tasting number two.

Actually, this segment follows a hurtling off-road journey through the local woodlands so…hold on to your butts (Jurassic Park anyone?)!

“This may have been the highlight of our trip. It was nice to see the Tuscan hills, sample some very nice wine and enjoy a great lunch in a place surrounded by locals. Our guide Alex was super. Full of information and lots of fun. Don’t be put off by the word “Safari” in the title. Very comfortable, pleasant day away from the hustle and bustle of Florence.” Mark ( read more reviews now )

Lastly, you’ll visit a low-key Chianti Classico vineyard where traditional techniques are used to create award-winning wines.

Finally, you’ll return home with a full tummy, an appreciation for Tuscan wine, and a somewhat elevated blood pressure.

Note, a valid driving license is a prerequisite for this tour. And, you will need to dress appropriately. So, no flip-flops.

“Absolutely incredible experience. The tour guides were so kind, on time, and informative. It was such good value for the money. We rode our scooters through beautiful scenery for around 2 hours, they let us stop in Greve and gave us great sandwiches as a snack, and then took us to our lunch and wine tasting spot. Upon arrival at a dreamy 17th-century villa, you’ll commence one of the best wine tastings near Florence.

4. Florence Wine Tasting and Tuscan Lunch in a Vintage Car

Buckle up because this awesome wine tour from Florence takes place behind the wheel of a vintage Fiat 500.

Yup, you (or your travel companion) will have the chance to drive this retro vehicle while enjoying the best wine tasting Florence has to offer.

Now, these colorful automobiles require 2 passengers. And, the driver must be licensed to drive a manual vehicle.

So, if you can do all of that then you can follow your tour leader as part of a convoy through the Tuscan hills.

Note, the tour route sticks to quiet secondary roads so you won’t have to deal with insane traffic or hour-long traffic jams.

Plus, the pace is slow and the group is required to remain together at all time.

“Very scenic tour. First you drive around for 40 min. Stop at a scenic spot to take pictures then continue driving back to the farm where you have wine tastings with cheese, breads and meats. Our guide was excellent! Driving that car was so fun but make sure you have someone comfortable driving stick!” Anonymous ( read more reviews now )

FYI, the driver must also complete a quick test drive prior to hitting the road. Nothing intense but just to make sure they are safe behind the wheel.

Then, your final destination will be a Renaissance-era villa with its own vineyard. Once there, you’ll dig into a light lunch and participate in a tasting in the wine cellar.
