Everything you need to know about Michael McIntyre’s MAGNIFICENT tour at AO Arena
Dads, we do hope you kept your tickets in the 'man drawer'.
British comedy legend Michael McIntyre is rolling back into Manchester this weekend for a double bill of his brand-new tour, MAGNIFICENT at the AO Arena.
Still one of the biggest names in UK comedy and always delivering a reliable and largely family-friendly performance (this being a 14+ show), he’s set to pack out the legendary Manc entertainment venue this Friday and Saturday.
Despite being a household name for the best part of two decades now, this latest show is actually his first stand-up tour in five years and has already received pretty solid reviews from the likes of Chorlte , so it’s great to see him back out on the circuit.
With all that in mind, we thought we’d provide those going along to either of his two Manchester shows with all the info you need.
Are there tickets left?
First off, if you’re still looking to grab tickets to see Michael McIntyre at Manchester’s AO Arena , although the Sunday is sold out there are still a fair few tickets left for the Friday, 22 March show.
With the cheapest tickets starting from just £34.50 and the closest seats going all the way up to £147.06, you can pretty much have your pick of the bunch.
As always, if you’re feeling like being a bit posh and treating yourself (you always deserve it, as far as we’re concerned), you can of course spring for the more premium hospitality packages like the Electric Lounge’s Champagne Experience. You can find the full gamut of tickets HERE .
Warm-up act and stage times for Michael McIntyre’s Manchester show
As for stage times, comedy shows at the AO Arena skew slightly earlier than the likes of your live music in Manchester but we can still let you know how long you can expect to be there.
Doors are set to open from 6pm on both nights but the jokes won’t start flying until 8pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to grab a drink, something to eat, nip to the loo etc.
With opening support act Jake Lambert — who has also turned with the likes of industry heavyweights Romesh Ranganathan and Jack Dee — set to take the stage for a 20-minute warm-up set at 8pm, McIntyre isn’t due on until 8:20pm, and his roughly 75-minute set will take you up to 22:10pm, so you should be out well before the venue’s curfew at 11pm.

How to get to the AO Arena and other travel info
The AO Arena is right in the heart of the city centre, so it’s fairly easy to get to.
The AO Arena is located within the Manchester Victoria Station complex in the city centre, on the corner of Trinity Way, Hunts Bank and Great Ducie Street. You can enter through the station (up the stairs), through the Trinity Way Tunnel, or from Hunts Bank.
By tram: Also super straight-forward – hop off the tram at Manchester Victoria and you’re right by the stairs to the venue. It’s also a short walk from Exchange Square and Shudehill. Trams run directly to Victoria Station from Rochdale, Bury, Altrincham, East Didsbury and the Airport.
By train: While Piccadilly is the city’s largest train station, plenty of trains do pass through Manchester Victoria. You can plan your journey through the National Rail website .
Parking: The postcode if you’re driving to the AO Arena is M3 1AR. There’s an on-site CitiPark car park with 958 spaces, which can be pre-booked here . Bear in mind that Trinity Way is closed after concerts to allow gig-goers to leave safely, though cars are allowed out of the car park with directions from staff.
About the AO Arena
The AO Arena has a few strict policies to keep gig-goers safe, so make sure to check entry requirements carefully before you travel.
For example, only one small bag per person is allowed, and bags like backpacks, travel cases and laptop bags are not permitted inside the arena.
All bags are scanned on entry to check for prohibited items like laser pens, flares, projectiles, weapons, drugs and alcohol, and even selfie sticks.

We hope that should be everything you need to know ahead of Michael McIntyre’s two Manchester shows this weekend.
The veteran comic also recently had to postpone a show in Southampton after undergoing surgery at the start of the month, so we’re glad to hear he’s back fit, fighting and funny.
Also, if you’re looking for somewhere for a classy drink and a nice bite to eat, then the brand-new Mezz restaurant is the perfect spot for some pre-gig fun.

It’s almost time for tens of thousands of people to flock to the fields of Heaton Park for this year’s Parklife festival, which is bigger than ever in 2024.
The huge festival brings together the biggest names in dance, house, hip hop, grime and electronic music for two days of partying.
This year’s line-up is arguably its biggest yet, featuring headline performances from Doja Cat, Disclosure, Becky Hill and loads more.
And even with the incredible European debut of Fisher and Chris Lake’s Under Construction now pulled from the line-up , it’s still set to be Manchester’s biggest party of the year.
If you can believe it, it’s been 14 years since the first-ever Parklife was held and since then it’s gone on to be not only a Manc music institution and rite of passage, but one of the most famous festivals around the world – we’re just lucky it happens to be right on our doorstep.
With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about Parklife 2023, from who’s playing and where to how you’ll be getting there and back.
Parklife 2024 line-up
The city’s biggest music event has lined up huge names like Doja Cat, Disclosure and J Hus to perform over the weekend of 8 and 9 June.
Returning Parklife favourites Peggy Gou, Becky Hill, and Four Tet are also heading up the huge 2024 Parklife line-up.
The pop and R&B side of the line-up will be taken care of by names like Sugababes, Anne-Marie and Mahalia.
Also on the bill will be Kaytranada, Camelphat, Rudim3ntal, Nia Archives, Hybrid Minds, Patrick Topping, Barry Can’t Swim, Folamour, Dom Dolla, Casisdead, Wilkinson, Shy FX: Specials, Interplanetary Criminal, Sammy Virji b2b Interplanetary Criminal, Kenya Grace, ANOTR, PAWSA, TSHA, Girls Don’t Sync, Max Dean, Hedex, Bou, Uncle Waffles, Skream, Jyoty, Loco Dice, Sub Focus and loads more.
You can see the full line-up here .
Tickets for Parklife 2024
The good news if you’ve not yet booked your Parklife tickets is that there are still some available, whether you’re picking a day to go or want to take on the whole weekend.
And this year, Parklife has reduced the price of tickets – a first for the industry and part of its commitment to keep festivals financially accessible.
Day tickets for either Saturday or Sunday cost £79.50 (plus booking fees), while weekend tickets are £135 plus fees.
You can check the latest availability here .
How much is a VIP upgrade and what does it get you?
Having done a fair few Parklife festivals now, we can confirm that the VIP upgrade is well worth the money.
You’ll get fast-track entry to the festival (no queues for you!), and access to a whole separate area of the festival to relax in.
The VIP area at Parklife has exclusive DJs, a street food market, cocktail and spritz bars, lockers, fast-track loos, a make-up artist and glitter station, and even a streetwear stall by Suzy Loves Milo.
It’s £35.50 to upgrade a day ticket to VIP, or £34.50 for weekend ticket-holders – again, check here to book yours.

Stage splits for Parklife 2024 headliners
It’s always the eternal question for festival-goers – how am I actually going to see all this amazing music and one weekend, and who’s going to clash this year?
Parklife has already confirmed the stage splits for its 2024 instalment, so we know exactly who’s going to be playing which stage.
Stage times aren’t out yet but usually drop a good few days before the festival – you can download the Parklife app ( here for Apple, here for Android) for all you need to know.
How to get to and from Parklife festival 2024
As Parklife is a non-camping festival, getting home at the end of the night is always a question people ask.
Organisers make it as straight-forward as possible for people to get back home after the stages wrap up in Heaton Park.
The fastest and easiest way to travel to and from Parklife is with the official Parklife Travel Pass, a partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (Bee Network), Manchester City Council and Parklife, which allows you to travel on the direct Parklife Shuttle Bus and Metrolink service from Manchester City Centre.
Buses will operate back into Manchester from the early evening, until the site is clear, and fans should use the NORTH EXIT of the site for the bus departure point.
Tickets are just £5.50 per day.

Are you someone caught in that annoying middle ground of loving a boogie to some tunes but not being the biggest fan of the traditional night out in the usual club setting?
If so, we’ve got some good news for you: a brand new way of clubbing is coming to Salford Quays that is prioritising neurodivergent live music lovers whilst hoping to create a safe and fundamentally sensory-friendly night out.
Cleverly named ‘ Disco Neurotico ‘, the new series of club nights is created by founder Byron Vincent as well as author and fellow DJ, Stefan Mohamed, who are ensuring people’s mental health comes first.
Receiving funding from Arts Council England for this first run of research and development events across the UK in 2024, the first show of 2024 arrives at The Lowry this August.

The tagline for the event is, “Reimagining raves for the nervous and neurospicy” – now that’s the kind of motto we can get behind.
But what exactly does that look like? Well, it starts with something as simple as wearing whatever you want (even if that means your PJs or cosplaying as Corrie character) and goes on to involve everything from board games and consoles, a silent disco, a UV doodle wall, a calming ‘breakout’ space and more.
You can even pick which music you want to funnel into your headphones – the cornerstone of this sensory-friendly club night and increasingly popular sight at gigs and festivals in general – so whether you want to fully rave in your own headspace, groove out or just enjoy soothing sounds, it’s up to you.
However, there are also plenty of snacks and drinks, calming recovery rooms for anyone feeling overwhelmed, and they actually already recommend guests come in and take a pre-event venue tour to familiarise themselves with the surroundings, be that in person or virtually.
- You can ‘run and rave’ as part of this new charity-driven social in Manchester city centre
Snow Patrol announce massive Manchester gig at Co-op Live next year
- WHP announces huge opening party with rooftop rave and Jungle and Bonobo as headliners
Speaking on the concept, Vincent said: “I love the idea of clubs and festivals but as an autistic person with complex PTSD, I often struggle with the reality.
“So with the help of a fantastic neurodivergent team of artists, I’ve designed a lovely night with gaming and multiple music genres that’s kinder to sensitive little squirrels like myself.”
We love the idea of a properly inclusive, sensory-friendly club night with full safeguarding measures in place and the neurodivergent community firmly in mind. We sincerely hope this takes off.
Taking place on 31 August at the iconic Salford venue and running from 8pm until midnight, affordable tickets are just a tenner and general admission is just £12. You can find out all the information you need to know about the event and grab your Disco Neurotico Manchester tickets HERE .

Britain’s Got Talent viewers slam Amanda Holden for ‘creepy’ comments to male contestants

Britain’s Got Talent viewers aren’t happy with Amanda Holden .
Viewers of the ITV talent show have called the judge out for ‘creepy’ and inappropriate comments about semi-finalists, the Messoudi Brothers.
Amanda, 53 , sits on the BGT panel alongside Simon Cowell , Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli , with the latter joining her in fawning over the duo.
The Messoudi brothers are part of a string of Got Talent performers who travel the world appearing in the multiple versions of the series, showcasing their juggling skills – but with a twist.
Their amazing act gets many viewers hot under the collar, as the brothers undress and swap clothes during their rapid routines.
It’s all very impressive, with the pair having become known as the ‘sexy jugglers.’
Following their semi-final performance on Friday night, the siblings were left in Union Jack print underpants, later covering up with dressing gowns.
After being asked for his thoughts, Bruno struggled to string a sentence together.
Gasping for breath, he said with a deep voice: ‘Very impressive.’
‘After that reveal, no one is going to talk about the juggling,’ he added suggestively.
The Italian TV star went on to praise their ‘incredible’ performance after they ‘raised their skill so high’ from their first audition.
Alesha then teased that the duo left the audience ‘wanting more’ before Amanda chimed in: ‘I’m just asking on behalf of a friend, if you were in the final, what else would you take off?’
Having stripped down to their pants, the brothers laughed: ‘There’s not much more we can take off, this is a family show.’
‘Well, after 9pm it’s fine!’, Amanda quipped.
Alas, the brothers won’t be in the final, unless they can secure the judges’ wildcard, as comedian Alex Mitchell and magician Trixy were sent through on Friday night.
As the studio audience wolf-whistled, Amanda continued: ‘You were so joyous and so brilliant. There’s always a sense of humour attached to this, which is really important as well, and that self-irony.’
‘I’m gutted you put your dressing gowns back on,’ she concluded.
Reacting to Amanda’s feedback, viewers took to X to shame the star for ‘double standards’.
‘Imagine Amanda was a man and said all that to a female contestant? It’s ok though, it’s allowed when it’s a woman objectifying men’, wrote RantyAlex.
‘I do wonder why it remains okay for Bruno and Amanda to fawn over the topless male jugglers on @BGT and actually ask them what else they will take off… Imagine, for a second, that Simon even hinted that a female singer showed a touch more cleavage – instantly cancelled!’, blasted chriscymraeg.
‘A male judge would never be able to say the things to a female contestant that Amanda was just saying to those 2 guys’, agreed the_corke.
ElloTeenah wondered if she would be ‘reported’ for ‘sexualising’ the brothers, while uksprout actually did complain to Ofcom, branding Amanda’s comments ‘unacceptable.’
Musical theatre performer Amanda is the longest-serving judge on the BGT panel, having joined in 2007 and sat behind the desk with the likes of David Walliams, Michael McIntyre, and David Hasselhoff.
During her time on the show, the mum-of-two has been caught up in her fair share of controversies.
What seems to grab headlines the most, though, are her risqué outfits, with viewers at home actually filing complaints that they are too skimpy for a family programme.
Hitting out in the past, Amanda has made it clear she is totally unbothered by critics of her cleavage-baring ensembles.
If a man just said what amanda holden did on BTG hed be called a creep #amandaholden #BGT — nataliegarthley (@nataliegarthley) May 31, 2024
Is Amanda going to be reported to Ofcom for sexualising them or? #BGT — Tina (@ElloTeenah) May 31, 2024
If roles were reversed Amanda would be cancelled for being a dirty perv. Double standards. #bgt — Josh (@northmadt) May 31, 2024

In December 2022, Amanda defended her fashion choices, saying: ‘Fashion is about taking risks. I encourage everyone to have a little fun and be a little daring. I’d be bored playing it safe.’
She added that her co-star Alesha, 44, never doesn’t receive the same backlash.
‘Alesha gets away with wearing bikinis, but I don’t seem to. It’s bizarre,’ Amanda said.
‘With shows where there are strong women on a panel, it’s sadly inevitable that they’ll be judged on what they’re wearing.’
Amanda has also previously said that her lookalike daughters, Hollie and Alexa, ‘encourage’ her to look and feel her best and they are far from ashamed.
She’s also frequently seen posing in swimwear on Instagram, showcasing her tone physique.
