Uriah Heep announce first dates of Magican's Farewell world tour
Support comes from a band who haven't played UK shows in over 40 years
Uriah Heep have detailed the UK leg of their upcoming farewell tour. The run of seven dates kicks off at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on February 19, concludes at Bexhill's De La Warr Pavilion on February 27, and includes a prestigious show at London's iconic Palladium venue.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am this Friday from MyTicket , while support comes from Canadian legends April Wine – who haven't played in the UK since their Nature Of The Beast Tour in 1981 – and New York rockers Tyketto.
“Who can believe next year is 55 years since the band started?" asked Mick Box in a video posted earlier this week . "And I know many of you have been with us since the beginning. Well, none of us are getting younger so unfortunately we have made the decision to wind down touring the World starting next year. "Under the very apt title of The Magician’s Farewell we will start our final journey on the road. This isn’t going to be one of those long, dragged out goodbyes but we do intend over the next two/three years to play as many places possible and see you all for one last time. I want to reiterate that the band will continue to play shows as long as we can after we are done touring but these will be limited to one-off festival type events and the like. "On behalf of the band and myself I want to thank you all for the continued support you have always given us and it means so much to us. Look forward to seeing you all again very soon … ‘Appy Days!"

Slowdive Announces Spring 2024 North American Tour with Drab Majesty
- December 6, 2023
- post-punk.com
Following their successful fall 2023 tour supporting their long-awaited fifth studio album, “Everything Is Alive,” British shoegaze heroes Slowdive are poised to continue captivating their devoted fanbase with a new set of tour dates in 2024. The album, released on September 1, 2023, has been a commercial triumph and critical darling, securing top ten spots in several European countries, including Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Notable singles from the album, such as “Kisses,” “Skin in the Game,” “The Slab,” and “Alife,” have further cemented Slowdive’s reputation for creating deeply textured and emotionally engaging music.
The spring 2024 tour will see Slowdive returning to the US, building on the momentum of their fall 2023 tour. This time, they’re set to headline the Sick New World festival and perform in several cities missed in their previous run. Anticipation is high for shows in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas), the Southwest (Phoenix, Albuquerque), New Orleans, Kansas City, Atlanta, and the unique subterranean venue, The Caverns, in Tennessee.
Enhancing the tour’s allure is the inclusion of Drab Majesty as the opening act. Known for their distinct post-punk and goth-infused sound, Drab Majesty gained recent acclaim with their EP “ An Object in Motion.” The EP’s lead single, “Vanity,” featuring Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, has been particularly well-received, offering a rare blend of Goswell’s ethereal vocals with Drab Majesty’s darker tones.

the concert was great! loved the performance and the music! there’s just one thing that bothered me and that is the fact that the music was waaaaaay too loud, to the point that it was making me dizzy (and i didn’t consume any alcohol), but other than that it was amazing! i would definitely watch again.

Everyday I Decay in the audience at the Portland, Oregon Drab Majesty and Body of Light destroyed. Hadn't heard any Body of Light until this wasn't hard to get into. Drab's full sound just plain rocks peoples socks off. Will need more U.S. dates I can travel to.
Amazing show at beautiful venue in Toronto!
Dais records is the best label currently and Drab Majesty brought all their albums at merchandise desk. Super cool band with the most unique sound. Their albums are epic but now I think they sound even better live!

Take the episode with Fripp, the former King Crimson band leader who struck up a friendship with Hall in the mid-‘70s and produced 1980 album Sacred Songs . Hall says Fripp was blown away by performing with Hall’s band. Fripp joined Live From Daryl’s House for renditions of such songs as “You Burn Me I’m a Cigarette” (co-written by Fripp and Hall), King Crimson’s “Red,” David Bowie’s “Heroes” and “Babs and Babs” from Hall’s Sacred Songs .
“[Fripp] said, ‘I have never worked with a band that didn’t take at least three or four days to even begin to learn these songs. You guys just played them,’” says Hall. “I mean, it flipped Robert out.”
The tour is like a traveling version of Live From Daryl’s House . After Jones opens the show with the Daryl’s house band, Hall, who’s supporting his latest album, D , will perform a set with the same band. Near the end of Hall’s set, Jones will join Hall on stage to trade vocals on each other songs and perhaps throw in a cover song or two.
Until recording Live From Daryl’s House last year, Hall and Jones had never met. Now they’re prepping for a short tour together. “Howard and I get along really well, and I think he’s great,” says Hall.
The eight-date tour starts in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 7, heads north to Evans, Ga., on Nov. 16, Nashville and Knoxville in Tennessee, and culminates in Atlantic City, N.J., on Nov. 23. Before the tour kicks off, Hall will perform a free, private concert on Oct. 31 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Daryl’s House Club venue and restaurant in Pawling, N.Y.

Want some good news? Kylie Minogue is heading on a world tour next year! Want some even better news? She'll be hitting up nine different venues across the UK.
The Tension 25 tour is set to be Kylie's biggest tour in a decade, with the pop star covering Australia and Asia before heading to the UK.
Kylie's backstory truly is the stuff of legend. The Australian star first rose to prominence thanks to her performance in the iconic soap opera Neighbours, along with fellow big Ozzie name Jason Donovan .
Kylie left the soap in 1988, embarking on a career that would see her embrace as many musical eras as Taylor Swift. She started off with classic '80s bubblegum pop, featuring catchy tracks like The Loco-Motion and I Should Be So Lucky.
From there, she moved on to encorpoarting elements of house and Eurodance, with tracks like Better The Devil You Know, before exploring disco on her 2001 album Fever.
More like this
In 2005, Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer and decided to take a break from her music career to rest and recover before returning in 2008 with club and dance-orientated tracks like Wow.
Synthpop continued to influence her career, and most recently Kylie has turned back towards disco with tracks like Real Groove and dance-pop with Padam Padam, the chart-topping hit which was the top 2023 track on more than one RadioTimes.com member's Spotify Wrapped...
Kylie's hard work and versatility hasn't gone unnoticed. The Princess of Pop has received a Grammy award, three BRIT awards, two MTV VMA awards and more, as well as selling over '80 million records worldwide.
We just know you're dying to see Kylie live – it's In Your Eyes. Read on for everything you need to know.

Ringo Starr issues health update following cancellation of final US tour dates due to illness
The Beatles legend Ringo Starr, 84, has been forced to cancel the remainder of his US tour after being advised to rest by a doctor.

Ringo Starr has been forced to call off the remaining gigs of his American tour due to health reasons. The beloved former Beatles drummer, 84, had to forgo his Philadelphia show on Tuesday.
It followed a subsequent cancelation of Wednesday night's concert in New York. In an announcement on social media , it was shared: "Ringo has come down with a cold and after consulting a doctor he was advised to cancel these two remaining shows and get rest. As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon."
Fans with tickets for these two scrapped performances will be receiving refunds. The famed musician embarked on this latest series of shows beginning on September 7, having graced the stage last on September 22 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, along with his All Starr Band, reports the Mirror .
The recent April release of Starr's Crooked Boy EP saw a collaboration featuring guitarist Nick Valensi from The Strokes, as he sought more lively tunes from songwriter and producer Linda Perry for the record.
Explaining to Variety , Starr said: "Even on 'February Sky,' it was all about the dark sky everywhere in February, so that's an emotion in there. But I told her, 'There's gotta be a crack - a break in the sky - and the sun is coming out.' Because all my songs have that. They can be 'I'm down, I'm this, I'm that... But things are getting better, things are going up.' They always have a positive upside.
"'Rewind Forward' [the title song of his previous EP, from 2023] was like that. 'Rewind forward' meant, sometimes you're in a mood, and if you just backtrack a little and then find that (previous) space, and then carry on from that moment, it helps sometimes."
Ringo also requested more rock songs. He added: "I did. (At first) she wrote 'Crooked Boy,' and it was all about the story of my life - you know, I was ill, I was better, I found my own way "She sent me a couple of them, and then I called her and I said, 'Linda, write me a rock song!' And she says, 'What's that?' I said, 'I'll leave it there. Just write me a rock song. ' And she did, of course, and it's called 'Gonna Need Need Someone'. And it did rock, and she put the band together, and then we did a video with the song playing and we are popping in and out."
Ringo's sad tour axe comes after he celebrated his 84th birthday in July with a message of "peace and love". The former Beatle was joined by friends including rock star Joe Walsh, comedian-turned-actor Fred Armisen and musician Diane Warren as well as a limited number of fans to mark the occasion in Beverly Hills.
Join the Daily Record' s WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.
Ringo celebrated his traditional midday 'peace and love' birthday ritual, leading fans in chanting the familiar phrase and enjoying a birthday serenade. Discussing the lasting impact of the ritual with PA news agency, Sir Ringo noted: "I think a lot of it is a throwback from the 60s, I was in that band and then a lot of it's still from the 60s onwards, but people love it.
"People enjoy the peace and love moments, that's what it's about and that's all I do, peace and love," he added. Since the event's inception in 2008, it has grown internationally.
Overwhelmed by the response in 2022, Sir Ringo said during the gathering: "I am getting overwhelmed, there are so many of you now, we started with like 50 people in 2008," while expressing gratitude to attendees. "(I am) truly grateful that you all turned up today otherwise I'd be lonely all I do is say peace and love. That's all I'm doing and we're going around the world, now we're in 35 countries, most of them have gone back to bed."
