Want to know how to view Location History in Google Maps? After all, Google knows everywhere you go, so why shouldn't you be able to access that information too?

Location History is a feature in your Google account that saves details of all the places you visit and the routes you take there. It works on any mobile device on which you're signed into your Google account and have Location History turned on.

The data collected by Location History is available to view in Google Maps, in both the Maps website in your desktop browser and in the Maps app for Android or iOS.

It’s hard to imagine a time before we used Google Maps to get around on foot or while driving. Searching for a location in Maps is simple and straightforward.

And provided you have Google web activity tracking on your phone or laptop, all your previously searched locations will be in one convenient place. In fact, Google Maps does a great job of remembering all the places you’ve actually been and those you’ve just searched.

In this article, we’ll show you how to view your Google Maps search history, review it, and even delete specific searches if you want.

How to View Google Maps Search History?

If you use Google Maps to get around often, then you probably have a long list of searches in your Maps activity. When you click on the Google Maps search box, it will automatically show a list of your recent searches.

But if you need to view older items in your search history, you need to go to the Maps Activity page. First, let’s go over the steps required to view Google Maps search history if you’re using a PC. Regardless of whether you’re a Windows or Mac user, this process will be exactly the same.

Also, keep in mind that you must be signed in to your Google account to be able to see your search history. Here’s how to find and view your Google Maps search history:

last visit place

Your “Saving activity” option should be turned on. And your “Auto-delete” should be off. Just under those two options, you’ll see a search bar that says, “Search your activity.”

Here you can enter a specific location you’ve searched in the past. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, you can browse the search history.

The search filter gives you the option to view search history on the last day, week, or month, or do a custom search. You can also alternate between the “Bundle View” and “Item View” options to see the search history. Bundle View groups the search entries by date, and Item View lists them all in one row.

How to View Google Maps Search History on Android?

Undoubtedly, one of the best things about Google Maps is that you can take it with you wherever you go with your mobile device. With your Google Maps app, the chances of getting lost in a new city are minimal.

If you’re an Android user, you can view your Google Maps search history at any time. The Android mobile app will show several recent searches from the main search bar, the same as the web version does. But to be able to view the entire search history, this is what you should do:

last visit place

You’ll see “Maps Activity” at the top of the screen. Below, you’ll notice the “Search your activity” bar where you can enter the search item from the Maps history.

The search history in the Maps app will appear in Bundle View automatically. You’ll also have the option to filter the search history by date.

There will also be the option to “Delete” items in your search history. If you tap on this option, Google Maps will allow you to delete searches from the past hour, past day, all time, or let you create a custom range.

How to View Google Maps Search History on iPhone?

Google Maps mobile app works efficiently whether you’re using an Android smartphone or iPhone. The app works identically on both operating systems. So, if you’re an iPhone user, here’s how you can view your Google Maps search history:

last visit place

Remember, you can filter by date and delete search entries in specific time ranges.

How to Change the Places You Visited and Activities You Have Done on Maps?

Google Maps keeps a log of all the places you’ve visited, but only if you allow this feature to be on. It will create a list of visited and most visited places, as well as unconfirmed locations that it’s not sure you’ve visited or not.

You can access these places and activities by accessing the Google Maps timeline. This is something you can do in both web browsers and the Google Maps app on your mobile device. Here’s how it works:

last visit place

If you’re using Google Maps in your web browser, you’ll spot a red rectangle in the bottom left corner. It will list the number of places you’ve visited.

When you click on it, you’ll see an enumerated list of places next to each three dots. If you click on the dots, you’ll see the “Last visit in your timeline” option.

When you click on this option, you’ll be able to see and change specific steps in this activity. You’ll also have the option to confirm if this was indeed a route you’ve taken before.

In your Google Maps mobile app, tapping on “Your Timeline” redirects you to another window where you can switch between tabs labeled “Day,” “Places,” “Cities,” and “World.”

If you select “Places,” for example, you’ll see that they are organized by type of activity, such as “Shopping” and “Food and Drink.” By tapping on each category, you can change or remove items from the list of places.

2. Scroll down and browse your Google activity. It will have a list of all your searches in Bundle View or Item View.

Keep in mind that this will only show you searches you’ve had in Google, not those done in any other search engine.

2. How to See and Delete Your Google Search History?

You can find all your Google Search history by accessing the “My Activity” page for your Google account. You’ll find all the Google search items, which you can browse by date or by entering a specific term in the search bar.

There will also be a “Delete” button next to the search bar. You can delete only recent searches, previous day searches, all time, or create a custom range.

3. How Do I Look at My History on Google Earth?

Google Earth is a great way to explore our planet and see it from a different perspective. You can enter any location in the search bar, and Google Earth will show it to you immediately.

If you want to revisit the place you’ve searched for before, simply click anywhere in the search bar, and the list of previous searches will dropdown. Just tap on the location you’re looking for, and it will take you there back again. Make sure to sign in to your Google account first.

4. How Do I Find My Recent Google Searches?

If you’re using Google as your primary search engine, it will automatically give you suggestions in the drop-down menu when you click on the search bar.

These suggestions are usually related to your recent and most frequent searches. But if you want to see the most recent searches and in their chronological order, then you must visit the “My Activity” page of your Google account.

5. Can I See My Google Maps Search History?

Yes, you can absolutely see your Google Maps search history unless someone has deleted it already. You can access it via web browser and mobile app, change it, and delete it if you want. The Google Maps search history is located in the “Maps Activity” section in the Google Maps settings.

Managing Your Google Maps Search History

If you’ve had one Google account for a long time and you’ve had Google Maps tracking on the entire time, you’ll be able to see an entire story about the places you’ve visited and journeys you’ve made.

But search history is more than just location history. It tells you about the places you’ve only looked up but haven’t visited yet. Either way, it provides valuable data, and now you know how to access it when necessary.

How to View Your Browsing History

Easily find websites that you previously visited.

by Linda Criddle, Nancy Muir, Using the Internet Safely for Seniors for Dummies, March 28, 2011

Sometimes you need to find a site you visited but didn’t save as a favorite. To do that, you can review your browsing history.

  • Click the Favorites Center button and then click History to display the History pane.
  • Click the down arrow on the History button and select a sort method: By Date: Sort favorites by date visited. By Site: Sort alphabetically by site name. By Most Visited: Sort with the sites visited most on top and those visited least at the bottom of the list. By Order Visited Today: Sort by the order in which you visited sites today.
  • In the History pane, click the link to the site you want to visit. It takes you to the site, and the History pane closes.

In the History pane, click the link to the site you want to visit .

  • You can also choose the arrow to the right of the Address bar to display sites you've visited most recently.
  • You can search your Favorites, as well. With the Favorites Center open, click the arrow on the History button and choose Search History to display a search box you can use to search for sites you've visited.
  • You can empty your History file so that no one can see the sites you've visited. (Kids do this a lot to hide searches from their parents or grandparents, but their monitoring software will flag this.) Perhaps you don't want your spouse or partner to know that you've been researching presents for an upcoming birthday, or maybe you're using a public computer and don't want to leave a trail. Whatever your motivation, to erase your history, choose Tools@@-->Internet Options. On the General tab of the Internet Options dialog box, click the Delete button under Browsing History.

Google Maps

Google Maps has a nifty Timeline feature that lets you browse the places you've visited along with the routes traveled. The Timeline received a good overhaul in 2015, and Google has since added the ability to collate images you've taken at particular locations, allowing you to get a better overview of all your travels. This feature certainly comes in handy if you're looking to see all the images you took at a particular location or if you're trying to get a highlight of your weekly or monthly activities. Google Maps boasts loads of features, making it stand out from the competition. Although having a variety of features is a plus, for a regular user, it can be tough to know how to use all of them. The Google Maps Timeline is one of the platform's essential features, allowing you to view places you've been to in the past and the routes you used to get there.

The Timeline feature leverages the fact that Google tracks your whereabouts in the background. We will show you how to see your location history on Google Maps on your phone.

How to See Your Google Maps Location History

It's no longer a secret that Google tracks you in the background. The Timeline feature capitalizes on this, giving you a way to check your location history.

The critical thing to note is you must have your Google account's Location History turned on to use the feature. With Location History enabled, you can view the countries, cities, and other places, like restaurants, malls, etc., that you've been to in the past.

Follow these steps to check whether you have your Location History enabled:

  • Open Google Maps and tap your profile icon or letter in the top right.
  • Select Your data in Maps from the pop-up menu.
  • If you see On under Location History , that means you have it enabled. Otherwise, tap Off , and Google will take you to a page where you can switch it back on by tapping Turn on .

If you have just enabled your Location History at the moment, or you deleted your past data to protect your privacy in Google Maps , there won't be anything in your Timeline.

However, if you have some other settings like Web & App Activity enabled, you may still see some location history data. Our tips on troubleshooting Google Maps issues on Android should come in handy if you're experiencing issues with the app.

How to View Your Google Maps Timeline

Otherwise, with that out of the way, here's how you can see where you've been in the Google Maps app:

  • Inside Google Maps, tap your profile icon or letter in the top right.
  • Select Your Timeline from the pop-up menu. Google will take a few seconds to load the Timeline page.
  • The Timeline page will show today's location history by default at the bottom. It provides additional data like how you went to a specific location, the amount of time used during the commute, and an estimate of your time in an area. Tap Today to select a particular date in the past.
  • If you want to see your past trips, select the Trips tab at the top. Google will show you the number of trips you've been on, how long they were, and in which month and year.
  • The Places tab showcases specific places you've gone to presented in different categories like Shopping, Hotels, Attractions, and more. You can also go to the Cities and World tabs to view the cities and countries you have traveled to in the past, respectively.

In the Day tab, nearby places you've visited in the past will be shown as dots of different colors on the map. Each color hints at the kind of activity done at the place.

The amount of data in your Google Maps Location History depends on how long the Location History feature has been enabled on your account. If you have set up your account to auto-delete your history, or if you chose to instantly delete your location data in Google Maps recently, the data will be much less.

Learn more about using the app in Google Maps tips to turn you into a pro user .

Track Your Location History in Google Maps

The Google Maps timeline is an excellent way to see where you've been in the past and on which day. The app presents data in an easy-to-understand manner. Additionally, it adds richer details like the routes you took to a place and an estimate of your time in a location.

While some might ignore the feature or disable it due to privacy issues, there's no way to deny its importance. If you're more privacy-conscious, you can still use the feature and instruct Google to delete your data after three, 18, or 36 months.

How to check your Google Maps timeline and see every place you've traveled

William antonelli   .

How to check your Google Maps timeline and see every place you've traveled

  • Your Google Maps timeline shows all the countries, cities, and attractions you've visited.
  • You can see your timeline in the Google Maps mobile app and on the website.
  • You'll need to make sure you have Location History enabled on your Google account for the timeline to work.

Nearly every major app tracks your location in some way. And while most try to keep this a secret (and won't even tell you why they need it), Google Maps is pretty public when it comes to using your location.

But Google Maps doesn't just use it to give you directions and show your current location . If you have it enabled, you can also create a Google Maps timeline , which lets you see where you traveled on a specific day, any attractions or restaurants you've visited, towns you've been to, and countries that you've traveled in.

Here's how to check your Google Maps timeline — and how to enable Location History so you can make a timeline in the first place.

How to enable Location History in Google Maps

Google Maps creates your timeline by tracking where you've been over a long period of time. To do this, it needs your location history.

Location History is enabled on all basic Google accounts by default (although it might be disabled if you have an education or enterprise account). To make sure it's on:

  • Head to your Google account page and log in if you haven't already.
  • Tap Data & privacy at the top of the screen (on mobile), or click it in the left sidebar (on a computer).
  • Scroll down to Things you've done and places you've been and make sure that Location History is turned on. If it's not, tap it and toggle it on.

You might also want to change your Auto-delete settings if you want to track your history over a longer time.

How to see your Google Maps timeline in the mobile app

1. Open Google Maps on your iPhone or Android, and tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.

2. Tap Your timeline .

The screen will change, and a large menu will appear with a variety of options at the top. They'll be a bit different depending on whether you're using an iPhone or Android.

On both devices, you'll see:

  • Day: Here, you can see all the places you've visited in a single day. It'll also show you how you got there (via subway, car, etc.) and how long you spent at each location.
  • Places: This shows the different restaurants, attractions, shops, hotels, and more you've visited. They'll be sorted into different categories, which you can tap to see a full list.
  • Cities: You'll get a list of all the towns and cities you've visited, and when you visited them. Tap a city name to see where you went in that city and how often.
  • World: A list of all the countries you've traveled to. Tap a country in the list to see which cities you've gone to.

If you're using an Android, you'll also see Trips and Insights . Trips shows (as the name suggests) the vacations and getaways you've taken. Insights tracks how much time you've spent walking, driving, and taking public transit every month, along with how far you've traveled and what you spent your time doing.

How to see your Google Maps timeline on the website

You can find the timeline on the Google Maps website too, but it looks a bit different.

1. Open Google Maps on your computer and click the three stacked lines in the top-left corner.

2. Select Your timeline .

You'll be brought to the Timeline page. Here, you can:

  • Click one of the blue bars at the top-left of the screen or enter a specific day to see all the places you traveled on that day.
  • Click the red Places option in the bottom-left to see every business, attraction, and place of interest you've visited.
  • Click the More Trips box to check out the vacations and get-aways you've been on.

You can also double-click a red dot on the map to check out the exact day you traveled to that spot.

If you clicked something and want to reset the map, click Timeline in the top-left to return to your main Timeline page.

15 Islamic State group fighters dead, at least 6 U.S. soldiers injured in raid on terror group in Iraq

A U.S. military operation Thursday in Iraq killed at least 15 Islamic State militant group fighters, and at least six U.S. soldiers suffered injuries, three U.S. defense officials said.

None of the injures to the U.S. soldiers were described as life-threatening. Several were possible traumatic brain injuries, and at least one soldier suffered external injuries, the defense officials said.

The operation took place Thursday in Anbar in western Iraq, the officials said. Some of the dead ISIS figures were in leadership.

U.S. Central Command said in a statement Friday night the partnered raid with Iraqi security forces took place in early Thursday.

The ISIS operatives were "armed with numerous weapons, grenades, and explosive 'suicide' belts," the command, abbreviated as CENTCOM, said.

"This operation targeted ISIS leaders to disrupt and degrade ISIS’ ability to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against Iraqi civilians, as well as U.S. citizens, allies, and partners throughout the region and beyond," it said.

There was no indication of any civilian casualties, CENTCOM said in the statement.

"Iraqi Security Forces continue to further exploit the locations raided," it said.

All-inclusive family vacation ideas and resorts in the U.S.

All-inclusive resorts make the best family vacations because they take the stress out of the vacation-planning process. You probably picture tropical vacation spots when you think about all-inclusive family vacations, but there are some great resorts here in the United States as well. These are the best family vacations in the U.S. where everything’s included.

1. Sandpiper Bay All-Inclusive Resort by Wyndham

Port st. lucie, florida.

A lot of resorts claim to offer something for everyone in the family. But Florida’s Sandpiper Bay All Inclusive Resort by Wyndham  (formerly called Club Med Sandpiper Bay) actually delivers on the promise. It has multiple pools, water sports, golf, a spa, private beach access, and kids clubs for different age groups.

The Mini Club is for ages four to 10 and Latitude 27 keeps tweens and teens ages 11 to 17 busy. There’s even a “Pajama Club” in the evenings. Better yet, this one of the rare truly all-inclusive resorts in the country.

Florida’s Atlantic coast beaches are 10 minutes away, and the resort offers an activity-rich experience that includes tennis, volleyball, jet skiing, and swimming. Should you ever want to leave the all-inclusive oasis, Sandpiper Bay’s Port St. Lucie location puts you just two hours from Disney World and Universal Orlando. It’s just an hour from Palm Beach.

A stay at the nearly all-inclusive Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island has been one of the most popular family vacation ideas in the U.S. for generations. This is a true throwback experience. Not a lot has changed on Mackinac Island since the resort’s grand opening in 1887.

Victorian homes, car-free streets, and horse drawn buggies are all part of the experience. But there’s a lot more to do here than marvel at the old-timey charm. Cycling the bike-friendly streets, playing mini golf, eating ice cream, and kayaking along the shores of the eight-mile island are all part of the family fun.

Summer events like the annual Fudge Festival (August) and Lilac Festival (June) keep families coming back to this Midwest family vacation destination. As for the Grand Hotel at the center of it all, its family vacation packages typically include resort amenities and meals (breakfast and dinner) in the nightly rate.

Dubbed “America’s Best Idea,” the country’s national parks are also one of the best family vacation ideas anywhere in the U.S., and their geographic diversity makes them an option for all four seasons.

1. National parks to visit in spring

In spring, national parks tend to not be as hot or crowded, and National Park Week in April brings free admission on top of the nice weather. Some of the best parks to visit with kids this time of year include New River Gorge National Park, Shenandoah National Park, Everglades National Park, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

2. National parks to visit in summer

The summer months from late May to early September are peak season for many national parks. With kids out of school and family vacations in full swing, national park visitor numbers swell. But spacious parks like Kenai Fjords, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park do a good job of managing crowds and keeping the experience special.

3. National parks to visit in fall

When kids go back to school and cooler temperatures arrive, the crowds thin out at some of the country’s most beloved national parks. Crisp autumn weather makes for more pleasant hikes, and the shorter days make it easier to catch the sunset at parks like Yosemite, Zion, Great Smoky Mountains, and Badlands National Park.

4. National parks to visit in winter

Winter in the Great Outdoors might not be one of your top family vacation ideas, but maybe it should be. Many of the top national parks in the U.S. are located in deserts and tropical locations, making winter a prime season to visit places like Death Valley and Saguaro National Park. And if you’re a family that loves winter sports, both Grand Teton and Acadia National Park reveal whole new sides of themselves in the winter months.

5. More family vacation ideas in national parks

One of the best-kept secrets of America’s national park system is the hut-to-hike hiking trips through Montana’s Glacier National Park, which consists of two dramatic backcountry lodges (Sperry Chalet and Granite Park Chalet). Hut-to-hut hiking offers family-friendly amenities like hot meals and comfortable beds without the need to carry heavy overnight gear like tents or sleeping bags on your day hikes. And in terms of spectacular mountain views, it rivals the Swiss Alps for sheer natural beauty.

Licensed tour operator Glacier Guides offers guided hikes through Glacier National Park that are geared toward families with kids ages 10 and up. For outdoorsy families looking for a significant upgrade from tent camping, this hut-to-hut experience is one of the best family vacation ideas in the country. Glacier Guides’ backcountry family vacation packages include a three-day Granite Chalet trek and a six-day hut-to-hut adventure that features horseback riding and an optional half-day whitewater rafting trip.

Nationwide, fourth graders are eligible for a national parks pass through the Every Kid Outdoors Program. The pass grants entry to all children under 16 in the group and up to three accompanying adults. You can also use recreation.gov to find a campsite in or near a national park or to get a permit.

Family staycations

Outdoor movie screens: Young people with popcorn watching movie in open air cinema. (Photo: Shutterstock)

You don’t have to travel to popular family vacation spots like Washington, D.C. or San Diego to have a great time with the kids. Sometimes it’s easier (and a lot less expensive) to let the family vacation come to you. Instead of searching for cheap flights and then choosing between a hotel and vacation rental for accommodations, you can turn a week at home into one of your best family vacation ideas ever.

Taking a staycation doesn’t have to mean just staying at home and doing nothing. Instead, treat it like an opportunity to transform your home into a family vacation destination.

Have a nice big backyard? Pitch a tent and sleep under the stars. Roast marshmallows over a fire pit. Set up an outdoor movie screen and introduce your kids to a favorite childhood movie on the big screen.

Take day trips to museums, aquariums, botanic gardens, or a state park or local park. Head to your local children’s museum if your kids are younger. Explore local beaches and turn your staycation into a family beach vacation. Blow up an inflatable pool and turn your backyard into a homemade splash pad water park.

And if the biggest barrier to your vacation is expensive airfare for the whole family, book a vacation rental or find a hotel deal within driving distance, making a road trip part of the experience. Most of all, treat your staycation like a real vacation. Turn off your work email notifications. Change up who cooks dinner or let the kids choose their favorite takeout food.

Take a lazy afternoon and read a book. Make breakfast for the whole family. Relax screen time restrictions for the kids. Play a board game. Spend a day doing outdoor activities and hanging out together. Family vacations at home are only limited by your imagination.

Family road trips

You may not remember every family vacation you went on as a kid, but you probably remember at least one road trip. That’s because there’s something quintessentially American about the family road trip experience. It’s practically a rite of passage for many families.

What makes a road trip one of the best family trips isn’t just the scenery or wherever your ultimate destination may be. It’s also a chance to spend hours at a time together—in the car, at roadside attractions, at rest stops and restaurants. Telling bad jokes, playing car games, forcing your kids to listen to “real music” for a change: It’s all part of building memories they’ll remember when they have their own kids.

Private group tours and guided family vacations

Like all-inclusive vacations, there’s something liberating about family travel adventures where a small group tour company handles all the details of your family vacation. Here are a few family vacation ideas that are perfect for small groups led by professional guides.

Family vacations don’t get any better than an overseas trip with Adventures by Disney, the small-group tour operator known for its authentic experiences, attentive guides, and kid-friendly activities. Now imagine it all without any of the hassles or hangups (or whining) you might expect on even the best family vacations. That’s part of the magic of traveling with Adventures by Disney. This year, these Egypt family vacation packages start at $8,549 per child and $8,999 per adult, a true bucket-list family vacation with a price tag to match.

Describe a New Place that You Visited Cue Card with Answer

Describe a new place that you visited; You should say:

  • Where the new place is?
  • When did you go there?
  • Why did you go there?
  • And explain how you feel about the place?

I love exploring new areas, and here I would like to talk about my recent visit to Jaipur. Just last month, I went to Jaipur, which is located in Rajasthan, with my friends. I am very well known for its heritage and culture. My friends and I planned the trip randomly as we all wanted to spend some time together, so we decided to go to any desert area, so Jaipur was the best option. It was four days trip, and we explored a lot ….we visited renowned monuments like Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal and the beautiful amber fort. We also went to 3 museums, and among them, the science museum was fascinating. I also did some shopping for myself and my family. It was my life’s best trip. The attractions were so thrilling. I really loved the place. And I wish to visit it with my family next time. It was an electrifying experience. If I get to visit Jaipur again, I won’t miss the boat.

In the past, I was not much into visiting new places, but now I like to visit new places on weekends. Last Saturday I visited a new cafe called Coffee culture. We were five people in the group we reached there by car at around 8 pm. One of my friends, Viraj, was throwing a party as he got admission to his dream college. The ambience of the cafe was awesome. We ordered two pasta, two pizzas and 1 Chinese platter. We also ordered two giant coffee mugs. The taste of coffee and food was very impressive. In the cafe, there is also a section for live music. The person who was playing the guitar was super energetic. We enjoyed the evening and then we left the place around 11 pm. It was a nice experience at coffee culture, and in future, I would really like to visit some more places like this which are nearby and affordable and enjoyable at the same time.

Nowadays, senior citizens are more found doing the workout in parks, whereas teenagers are in gyms. This means youngers are more attached to technology than the retired age group who love being around nature.

Answer 2:- I think both young and old people like public parks. Young people can go to the park for a walk, for exercise, or they can also take their children to the park for playing. Question 6. How do young and old people react differently to new things?

Answer 1:- Youngers are energetic and impatient, due to which sometimes they react aggressively, while elders, although they have less energy, still hold lots of patience and are also experienced, so they react to things very swiftly.
