The Longhorns eliminate Stanford in a goose chase for home plate.

With two runners in scoring position and no outs in the 7th, Ashton Maloney bunted the ball to the circle. In a 1-2-5 play, baserunner Alyssa Washington was caught at third base and raced home with third base player River Mahler running after her with the ball for the tag. Mahler underhanded the ball to Ava Gall (C) as Washington slid face-first to home plate, just in time. The Longhorns advance to their second WCWS finals in three years with a 1-0 win over Stanford in the semis.

Aces NiJaree Canady and Teagan Kavan each totaled seven strikeouts in tonight's pitching showcase.

Florida avoided elimination by handing Oklahoma the heftiest offensive effort the Sooners have seen in the postseason in four years. The Gators loaded up four homers, including Kenra Falby's insane inside-the-park HR, tallying nine runs to OU's three to break Oklahoma's 20-game WCWS win streak. The two play tomorrow in a winner-takes-all if-necessary game, with a ticket to the WCWS finals on the line.

There has been an update in the WCWS schedule due to today's extended delays. If Oklahoma sweeps in Game 11, then the Texas-Stanford game 13 and if necessary games will take place today. If Oklahoma loses, then Texas-Stanford Game 13 will close out the night and any if necessary games will be tomorrow. Here's the official breakdown.

WCWS semis ➡️ Monday

The top seeds — Texas and Oklahoma — face Stanford and Florida respectively for a ticket to the WCWS finals. In the double-elimination format, Texas and Oklahoma each need just one win in the semifinals to advance, whereas Stanford and Florida need consecutive wins to trump the undefeated teams. 🥊 Stanford knocks out UCLA

The final all-Pac-12 softball game ended in close fashion. Stanford ace and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year NiJaree Canady tossed eight Ks while allowing four hits, one run and no walks. The Bruins were kept quiet after hitting a solo homer in the second inning, while the Cardinal built its lead, highlighted by two runs from Emily Jones.

The Cardinal advance to the WCWS semifinals on Monday, facing Texas at 7 p.m. ET . 

World Rugby Sevens Series 2023/2024 Grand Final Madrid: Full schedule and how to watch live

The first ever rugby SVNS champions will be crowned at the 2023/24 World Rugby Sevens Series Grand Final in Madrid, from 31 May-2 June.

The top 12 teams in both the men's and women's standings will compete in La Liga football team Atletico Madrid's magnificent Civitas Metropolitano Stadium, joined by the top four men’s and women’s finishers from the second-tier World Rugby Challenger Series. These teams will be vying for promotion to the top-tier SVNS next season in a thrilling promotion and relegation contest.

In the men's Championship tournament, keep an eye out for third-place finishers France , who have selected 2021 World Player of the Year in 15s Antoine Dupont in what will be the final tune-up event for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 hosts.

Elsewhere, league winners Argentina will be hoping to rediscover their early season form, having not seen a podium finish in their last three outings.

It's the opposite story for red-hot Ireland , who finished second overall after securing second, third, and third-place finishes in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Singapore respectively. The electric Terry Kennedy is their key player, but with 15s star Hugo Keenan having transitioned over for the finale, expect fireworks from the men in green.

Meanwhile in the women’s tournament, Olympic champions New Zealand , whose four consecutive tournament wins helped them seal the title by two points, are the Grand Final favourites. Expect flying winger Michaela Blyde to be their main try-scorer once again.

Australia , who were pipped into second place, will be desperate to get back to winning ways with free-scoring Maddison Levi central to their cause, while Olympic silver medallists France are not to be written off after finishing third overall.

There will surely be a carnival atmosphere in the stands, with both Spain’s men’s and women’s teams taking part in the Play Off, desperate to maintain their SVNS status.

"That's why we're excited to be here, but know we have a ton of work," Denver coach Michael Malone said. "It's going to be the hardest challenge that any of us have faced in our NBA careers."

Regular-season matchup, recent history

The Nuggets won the season series 2-0 − 124-119 in Denver on Dec. 30 and 112-108 in Miami on Feb. 13.

Miami hasn’t won a game in Denver since 2016, which is also the last season Jokic and Murray were Nuggets reserves. Denver is 11-3 against Miami in the past seven seasons, including a six-game winning streak over the past three seasons.

How the Heat win

The Heat’s blueprint has revealed itself throughout the playoffs: play hard, commit to defense and hit 3-pointers at a rate higher than their regular-season percentage of 34.4%, which was No. 27 in the NBA. In the playoffs, the Heat lead the league at 39%, including 43.4% against Boston in the conference finals.

Jimmy Butler brings out the best in himself and his team in the playoffs. His tour de force is necessary. Bam Adebayo plays outstanding defense, even if his offense sometimes suffers, and there's that collection of undrafted shooters (Caleb Martin, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent and Duncan Robinson).

How the Nuggets win

Denver has emerged as the best team in the playoffs. That doesn’t guarantee a championship. Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, a triple-double threat every game , and playmaker Jamal Murray, gifted as a scorer and passer, must continue their stellar play. As long as they do that, and the Nuggets receive strong contributions from Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jeff Green and Bruce Brown, the Nuggets give themselves a great chance.

The Heat will present challenges with their dogged play and zone defenses, but the Nuggets are confident they can handle anything the Heat do defensively.

Deciding factor

The Heat will have trouble stopping both Jokic and Murray, and what it takes to defend them has an impact on Miami’s offense. Butler, Adebayo and Martin will be tasked with heavy lifting defensively. Denver’s offense is relentless with its options, and that will wear down Miami in the series. As long as the Nuggets aren't complacent, this is a series they should win.
