Before you take your pick from the available Gujarat holiday packages, make sure to gather all the details about the destination. Here are some quick facts about Gujarat that you need to know;
Best time to visit Gujarat
While you can set your Gujarat tour for any time around the calendar, it is better to visit during a season when you will be able to make the most out of your trip. So, make sure to decide on the time before looking for Gujarat holiday packages. In general, the winter season is considered the best time to visit Gujarat. However, you can learn more about the tourism experiences as per different seasons in Gujarat in the following;
Winter in Gujarat
The Winter season in Gujarat starts around October or November and stretches till February. The weather conditions during these months remain the most pleasant, with an average temperature range of 12°C to 29°C. Tourists love to schedule their Gujarat trip during this period as it allows them to engage in sightseeing and outdoor exploration all throughout the day. In addition, the region celebrates an impressive number of important festivals and events during the winter months. It includes the likes of Navaratri, which comes along with Dandiya and Garba events, the Kite Festival, Rann Utsav, Shamlaji Mela, Vautha Mela, Modhera Dance Festival, etc. As winter is the peak time for Gujarat tours, make sure to book Gujarat travel packages, hotels, flights, sightseeing tours, etc., in advance. Also, don’t forget to pack warm clothes for the trip.
Summer in Gujarat
The summer season in Gujarat usually begins around March and can extend till late May or June. The weather conditions during these months remain pretty hot and dry, with an average temperature range of 29°C to 41°C. The temperature during the daytime can be difficult to deal with, however, it drops by some margin after sunset. This unbearable temperature makes it difficult to go sightseeing and explore the region, which is why most tourists usually avoid visiting Gujarat during summer. But, there are still many who consider summer the best time to visit Gujarat on a budget. Certain locations in the northwestern part of this Indian state experience a more pleasant temperature during summer. If you are planning on visiting Gujarat during these months, consider visiting Saputara Hill Station, Gir National Park, Blackbuck National Park, etc. You can find great deals on Gujarat trip package options for this season.
Monsoon in Gujarat
Besides winter, many tourists prefer visiting Gujarat during monsoon. This season stretches from June to September and brings new life to the region’s natural beauty. The state experiences moderate to heavy rainfall, which varies from region to region. While the average temperature range hovers between the mid-20s and mid-30s, humidity stays quite high. Monsoon can be an ideal time for Gujarat tours for individuals who like exploring the rain-soaked city streets and want to witness the region’s natural elegance. Find the best Gujarat trip package that suits your travel needs on our website.

One of the most preferred ways to travel to Gujarat from any corner of India is via a flight. For your Gujarat trip, you can consider looking for flights to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD), Vadodara Airport (BDQ), Porbandar Airport (PBD), Surat Airport (STV), Bhavnagar Airport (BHU), etc. Most major domestic and international airlines offer regular flights on this route. For travel reference, a direct flight from Chennai to Ahmedabad can take around 2 hours and 10 minutes, while the same from New Delhi takes around an hour and 20 minutes.
Another quick yet economical way to reach Gujarat for your trip is by train. Gujarat falls under the Western Railway Zone and has a very well-planned railway network, creating a link between its major cities and also linking the state with other important cities across India. The most popular railway stations in the state are Surat Railway Station, Vadodara Railway Station, Rajkot Railway Station, Ahmedabad Railway Station, etc. You can find both regular and weekly long-distance trains for Gujarat. For instance, the PBR KAVIGURU Express, which runs from Santragachi Junction to Porbandar, takes roughly 40 hours to complete its route. There are also super-fast trains to Gujarat that you can get from Mumbai and Delhi.
Individuals travelling from nearby Indian states can opt for road travel to reach Gujarat. It makes for an interesting road trip and can help you save a lot of money on transport. The state has great road infrastructure and connectivity, which links all of its major cities with one another. Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana, India, has a rich history that underpins its vibrant tourism industry. Founded in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the city was historically known as a trading hub, particularly for pearls and diamonds, earning it the nickname 'City of Pearls'.
The tourism history of Hyderabad is closely tied to its grand historical monuments, rich cultural heritage, and diverse cuisine. The city's iconic Charminar, built in 1591, has long been a major tourist attraction, symbolizing Hyderabad's historical significance. Additionally, the opulent Golconda Fort, which dates back to the Yadava dynasty in the 12th century and later became the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, is a testament to Hyderabad's medieval grandeur.
The Nizams of Hyderabad also played a pivotal role in shaping the city's cultural and architectural landscape, which continues to draw tourists from across the globe. The Chowmahalla Palace, Falaknuma Palace, and the Salar Jung Museum, house various art collections and artifacts belonging to different eras, portraying the city's rich past.
Development into a Modern Tourist Destination
With the growth of technology industries in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, Hyderabad has come to be known as Cyberabad, reflecting its emergence as a global center for information technology. This modern identity has added a new dimension to its tourism, combining traditional and modern attractions.
Hussain Sagar Lake, established in 1563, is another tourist hotspot, especially with the addition of the towering Buddha statue in its midst. The surrounding areas of the lake are replete with parks, eateries, and entertainment options, seamlessly integrating old world charm with modern amenities.
Latest Tourism Trends in Hyderabad
In recent years, Hyderabad's tourism has embraced more experiential and cultural travel. Tourists are increasingly interested in experiencing the local Hyderabadi lifestyle, from sampling the city's famous biryani and Irani chai to exploring the bustling bazaars such as Laad Bazaar and Sultan Bazaar for traditional crafts and textiles.
The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) has been instrumental in promoting thematic tours, such as the Hyderabad Nizami Heritage Tour, which showcases the grandeur of the bygone era. The Ramoji Film City, one of the largest film studios in the world, has also become a significant attraction, offering visitors a chance to see where numerous Indian films are made.
Ecotourism is gaining momentum, with spots like Mrugavani National Park and Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park offering green retreats and wildlife viewing opportunities.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail, since its inception, has become a modern lifeline for tourism, providing convenient transportation for visitors to various landmarks and museums in the city.

Hyderabad: Key Files Gutted In Fire At Tourism Dept. Fire
Many vital files of the BRS-led government were gutted in the fire mishap that occurred at the tourism development office at Himayatnagar in Hyderabad. Flames engulfed the first floor of the building where the administrative files are stacked up, in the early hours of Friday. The incident occurred in the early hours but it came to light in the afternoon.
According to information, several files relating to both the tourism and forest departments were gutted in the accident.
On being informed, the fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The aluminum beading of the windows which softened under the impact of the heat, fell down on a car and the vehicle also got burnt.
Meanwhile, there are several doubts over the fire mishap which occurred right after the elections and the exit polls suggesting a change in the government. Several files relating to the government expenditure are stored in this office and following charges of rampant corruption under the BRS dispensation, a conspiracy is being suspected behind the incident.
CPI national secretary Narayana suspected that it was not an accident but was intentionally done. Narayana visited the office which was gutted in the fire and demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident. Though short circuit was said to be cause of the fire, Narayana said that tourism department MD Manohar was hand in glove with the BRS leadership in carrying out the corrupt activities. He said the mishap was not accidental but intentional.
The police are investigating if unknown persons entered the office in the night and lit the flame.
It is pertinent to note that recently, Manohar was suspended by the EC for violation of the model code of conduct, which is now leading to suspicion.
