Nepal is a country known for its friendly faces, amazing Himalayan landscapes and fascinating cultural discoveries. Our Khumbu luxury lodge trek is a magical journey that will lead you into the very heart of the Everest Region. This adventure allows you to experience some the most fascinating places within the Khumbu Valley. Gaze at the remarkable Nuptse wall with Mount Everest towering high above, explore Sherpa farming villages steeped in traditional Buddhist culture, visit the famous Tengboche Monastery and walk in the footsteps of legendary mountaineers such as Sir Edmond Hillary. This trek makes a great first Himalayan experience for new or experienced trekkers and is sure to excite the adventurer within you.

During the trek you’ll stay among the finest lodges within the Everest region of Nepal. These lodges offer a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere when compared with many of the over-crowded and noisy tea houses often associated with trekking in the Khumbu.

Everest Lodge-to-Lodge and Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek • 14 Days

Our Lodge-to-Lodge trek begins in the historic city of Kathmandu, known for its fascinating Nepalese culture and ancient temples. We tour some of the cities famous world heritage sites including Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and the always favorite Swayambhunath “the Monkey Temple“. We overnight at the historic Hotel Yak and Yeti located near Thamel where you’ll have a chance to shop and explore Kathmandu’s famous tourist district.

The flight to Lukla provides amazing views of the terraced Nepalese landscape and Himalayan giants including the crown jewel Mount Everest. Once in Lukla we’re welcomed with a cup of tea and meet our gracious Sherpa staff. The trek takes us along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River passing small Sherpa villages laden with prayer flags and Mani stones. We carry light packs as porters carry all our heavy trekking gear. The Beyul Hermitage and Farm affords a charming atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the main Everest trail. The seasonal local organic food comes from the farm and local community gardens surrounding Chhuserma.

Today we walk the old forested trail to Everest and visit the Thaktul Monastery, recently rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. Before entering Sagamartha National Park we settle into Monjo for the evening. You soon arrive in legendary Namche Bazaar the main trading center of the Sherpa people and gateway to the Khumbu Valley. As we walk the stone paved streets browsing the local souvenir shops one can’t resist stopping by the local bakery for coffee and slice of pie. The Panorama Lodge offers a delightful experience with its relaxing dining room and remarkable view of Namche, along with its gracious proprietor which makes the stay one to remember.

The next day gives way to amazing Himalayan views of Mount Everest as we begin the long traversing descent to the Imja River. We arrive in the small village of Tashinga away from the throngs of trekkers pushing on towards Tengboche.

The next morning, we trek up the now peaceful trail to Tengboche. The impressive Tengboche monastery was first built in 1916 by Lama Gulu and subsequently rebuilt a few times due earthquake and fire, with luck we meet the famous Rimpoche. We continue trekking to the village of Pangboche, traditionally known as the last year-round Sherpa settlement and visit the oldest monastery in the Everest region. Ama Dablam meaning “mother’s charm box“ offers nothing less than spectacular views along the way. The next morning some in the group may choose to venture to Ama Dablam Base Camp at 15,000 feet before descending back to Tashinga.

We begin our slow descent to Monjo retracing our path to Lukla. After saying farewell to our Sherpa staff, we return to Kathmandu where you’ll have a chance to relax, shop and further discover Nepal’s ancient city. Then depart for flights home or continue with a safari to Chitwan national park and Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge.

The lodge is situated in a nearly uninhabited village, amongst pine forest, from where you can gaze endlessly at the panoramic views. You will not find any lodge nearby that delivers such brilliant service and hospitality. (B, L, D)

Day 7 • Pangboche • 13,074 ft

We descend to the river and cross another long suspension bridge at Phungi Thenga. Then begin a steep climb to Tengboche, regarded by many as the second hardest day of the approach trek. The late morning is spent touring the historic monastery considered the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region and residence of the famous Rinpoche revered by Buddhist’s. The route drops to Deboche a quite village situated among conifer and rhododendron forest.

Our trek continues through rhododendron forest until crossing another suspension bridge high above the Imja Khola. The route climbs the sheer valley to the village of Pangboche traditionally known as the last year-round settlement in the Khumbu region. (B, L, D)

Another option is too visit the upper Pangboche monastery where Lama Geshe offers a blessing of safety and success to mountaineers attempting to summit Mount Everest or trek up the main route to Everest Base Camp towards Pheriche as a day hike. Overnight at the Everest Summit Lodge in Pangboche. (B, L, D)

Good to Know

Best time for everest luxury lodge trek.

There are two distinct seasons for this trek – March to May ( Spring ) and September to November ( Autumn ).

Observing this trek in only one season is like getting to understand just a part of it. That's because the route is set in the Sagarmatha National Park, home to some vibrant varieties of flora amidst its mossy forest. And the forest transforms colors in different seasons.

So, in different seasons, the whole color palette of the trek changes. Even the way the trek lights shift with the seasons. While Spring is known for its romantic, surreal look, autumn is loved for its fine views.

Everest Luxury Lodge Trek in Spring Season

The beauty of this trek in Spring lies in witnessing the blossoming rhododendrons , especially in April. In Spring, the misty forests on the Everest trail come alive with varied shades of pink and scarlet.

The rhododendrons start from around Sagarmatha National Park. Their variety increases as you reach higher, and after that, you are in for a treat of a lifetime. Sunlight diffuses, filtering in from the multicoloured flowers, which add a magical touch to your experience.

During the walk, you can hear the chirping sound of birds and insects all the time. That creates a very harmonious vibe .

Everest Luxury Lodge Trek in Autumn Season

In autumn, there are no flowers. But now, something else gives color to the trek – it's the dark, mossy forest inside Sagarmatha National Park. The vibrant blushes are inching towards deep greens, reds, and browns.

The air is washed clean of the mist. So when you step out of the sunshade, you see excellent views of beautiful nature and landscape . You also witness a sharp star-lit sky during this season. And it is a great time to be on Everest Luxury Lodge Trek, especially if you are interested in night-sky photography.

Everest Luxury Lodge Trek in Summer Season

June to August months fall in the summer season in Nepal and are also known as the monsoon or rainy season. During this season, you will experience super-hot weather in the lower region, especially in the eastern part of the Hilly region.

The month of June is the pre-monsoon period, and temperature decreases during the downpours and rises on sunny days. Clouds most likely cover majestic views of mountains, but you may see mountains occasionally. From July to August, you will experience frequent rainfall on Everest Trek. Flight cancellation occurs during these months.

As Nepal is located in a hilly area, there will be a chance for landslide problems to occur in monsoon seasons. If you decide to trek in this season, be sure to take precautions and safety measures. Your trek will be memorable if you have a good guide who knows the route well as this is the offseason, so there will be few lodges that remain open in this weather condition.

Everest Luxury Lodge Trek in Winter Season

December to February is the winter season in Nepal. The beginning of winter is one of the best times to trek Everest Luxury Lodge. It is pretty cold at high altitudes , but the aspects of the landscape are crystal clear.

In mid-winter, massive snowfall will make your trek difficult or impossible sometimes. The lodges may be closed during this season, as the weather at a high altitude is challenging. In the late winter, the temperature begins to improve. The snow deposits start to melt down, and wildflowers begin to blossom everywhere at the lower altitudes.

Packing List for Everest Luxury Lodge Trek

Every trekking requires certain preparation of gears and types of equipment for the journey to make your trip more comfortable. It is recommended to carry the necessary and light things so that it will be easy while you are walking. The following belongings are recommended that should be brought, although we concede that our clients have their own decision for the clothing. What the Trip is Like

Trail conditions can be primitive, and there is a good bit of up-and-down (often 2,000- to 3,000-foot gain or loss in elevation per day). For the most part, you can hike at your own speed; the group will spread out along the trail during the day to cover a normal maximum of 8 to 10 miles per day (3-6 hours of hiking). Trip members carry only a daypack with camera, jacket, rain gear, water bottle, and other small necessities.

Although you carry only a daypack on the hikes, there are steep ascents and descents, so for your own enjoyment, we recommend you make a special effort to be in good physical condition. Daily brisk walking and/or regular hiking (or using a stair-climbing machine at your gym) are excellent preparatory exercises. You should wear sturdy, well-broken-in hiking boots for maximum comfort on the trail.

A Typical Trekking Day

Hiking distances on trek are normally measured in hours, not miles, since maps aren't really accurate enough to assess how far we walk up and down winding mountain trails. On a typical trek day, wake-up is around 7:00 am. After packing up our duffels and having breakfast, we set off on the trail. There is always a guide in the lead and a "sweeper" who trails behind the slowest hiker to ensure that no one is lost on the trail. We ask you not to hike ahead of the leader because trails are often not well-marked. We typically walk for three to four hours in the morning, then stop for a leisurely lunch of an hour or more. After lunch, we walk for another three hours or so until we reach our next night's lodging, where we can enjoy a cup of tea and relax before dinner.

All our meals are taken at the lodges. On our exploration days, we occasionally have more time in the morning or afternoon near the lodge to rest or for further individual exploration. Temperatures drop quickly as the sun falls behind the peaks, and it's easy to get chilled after exerting yourself for several hours, so have an extra layer of clothing ready.

Our lodge-based treks are led by an experienced English-speaking Sirdar (leader) who is ably assisted by a team of assistants and a trail crew. He and his team have a deep connection with the Himalayas and are wonderful trailside companions, hiking with you throughout each day on the trail, providing good company, and making sure that you are comfortable and hiking at a pace that suits you.

With more than 200 different adventures to choose from, we want to help you find the trip that’s right for you. A plus (+) sign means the trip is a bit more strenuous than other trips of that level. The detailed explanation of each trip—below the bar with the number rating—is perhaps more important, specifying activities, altitudes, hiking, and travel conditions. The Detailed Itinerary, available by download or mail, gives further information. Our Area Managers can also answer questions and guide you to the trip that best suits your interests.

9:00 AM: Today you start a guided cultural tour around Kathmandu Valley. On this cultural tour, you will experience the numerous colors, sounds, and tastes of authentic Kathmandu and its surroundings. Our experienced tour guides will tell you all you need to know and answer all your curiosities regarding those sites.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

You will take a short drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square, also called Hanuman Dhoka Durbar. This ancient site used to be the residence of the Nepali royal family and administrators. It incorporates an architecturally extraordinary complex of ancient palaces, temples, courtyards, and shrines dating from the 15th to the 18th century.

The prominent sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square are Kumari Ghar or the house of the living goddess.  Kasthamandap is a huge rest house that is said to have been built with wood from a single tree and is the source of which Kathmandu valley got its name. Other sites around Kathmandu Square are the ferocious Kal Bhairab – the red monkey God- Hanuman, hundreds of erotic carvings, temples, and statues dedicated to different deities.

Swayambhunath:

Swayambhunath (monkey temple), is the magnificent ancient religious architecture and center of faith of Hinduism and Buddhism. Its lofty white dome and dazzling golden spire are visible from far and wide. Swayambhunath is the ideal place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. In the shadows of the imposing structure and besides the integrated architecture can be found the daily surge of devotees faithfully offering their prayers to the gods. Upon arriving at the top, you can hear the Buddhist song “Om Mani Padme Hum” resounds everywhere. The candles and the aromatic fragrance of incense that burns constantly create a serene vibe and enormous prayer wheels which encircle the stupa.

PM: You take a drive to Mulkot in the afternoon. Mulkot is a small settlement, from where Manthali Airport is just 37 km away (1 hour’s drive).

You pass small groups of donkeys and yaks carrying trading goods and trek-gear along the trail. The trail passes through the villages of Benkar, Monjo, and Jorsale then climbs steeply to 2,000 feet to the market town of Namche.

Book this tour through our partner: MT Sobek

MT Sobek, the originators, innovators and leaders in adventure travel for more than five decades, crafts journeys to the world's most memorable places.

Arrive in Nepal

Arrive by 2pm to meet an MT Sobek representative and transfer to your hotel. Meet the group and your trip leader, get briefed on trek arrangements, receive a brief intro to Kathmandu, and then enjoy a Himalayan welcome dinner.

Tour the Kathmandu Valley

The Kathmandu Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage. Take a morning tour of Bhaktapur, an enchanting medieval Nepalese town dripping with character. A highlight is Durbar Square, with its temples, ancient palace ruins, and exquisite Sun Dhoka — a gilded gate crafted in 1753. Come afternoon, explore Kathmandu's fascinating sights, shrines, and markets. Don't miss Asan Tole bazaar, Durbar Square, the Thamel district, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple — try to catch the sunset here!), and King's Palace. The afternoon is free to rest or explore. Alternatively hire a driver and head for the ancient city of Patan.

Fly to the Khumbu

Transfer to the airport for the mountain flight to Lukla. The short but spectacular flight leaves the Kathmandu Valley and heads into the Himalaya, home to the world's highest mountains. Make an unforgettable landing on Lukla's 1,729-foot-long, 65-foot-wide runway, perched high on a mountainside above the Dudh Kosi (River of Milk). Collect your gear and walk to your lodge. If the flight is on time, fit in a warm-up hike to Kharka, on a trail that leads to Mera Peak, passing small hamlets and resident shepherds along the way.

Hike Lukla to Monjo

Begin trek from Lukla with a descent to the Dudh Kosi. Follow the trail to Phakding, passing mani walls (boulders inscribed with Buddhist prayers), small villages, and well-terraced hillsides. Meet Khumbu locals who, unlike the majority of Kathmandu residents, are Sherpas — people who migrated from Tibet over 500 years ago and still dress traditionally and practice evolved forms of Tibetan Buddhism. With Khumbila (18,800'), sacred peak of the Sherpas, looming above, arrive at the lodge in Monjo (9,317') in the early afternoon. Relax and enjoy free time while you acclimatize.

Experience Namche Bazaar

Head north into UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) National Park, established in 1976 to protect an area of great environmental, religious, and cultural importance. Cross the Dudh Kosi and begin the steep climb up "Namche Hill" amidst lovely rhododendron, fir, and magnolia forests. As you ascend, catch your first glimpse of Everest! Arrive in the vibrant Sherpa market town of Namche Bazaar, the unofficial Khumbu capital beautifully situated in a terraced amphitheater facing the hanging glacier below Kwangde (20,293'). Check into the lodge, then spend the afternoon exploring Namche Bazaar.

Trek to Tashinga

This morning stop at the Sagarmatha National Park visitors' center and museum, where there are terrific views of the Everest region and educational displays on the culture, geography, geology, climatology, and wildlife of the park and the Khumbu. Back on the trail, follow the classic route to Everest on a winding, almost level path. After about three hours, it's a slight detour and another 15 minutes to the lodge in Tashinga (11,800'). The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy — and there's nowhere more relaxing than the peaceful Himalaya!

Ascend to Tengboche and Pangboche

Descend into the deep Dudh Kosi Gorge — one of the most beautiful valley walks on Earth — and then climb steeply to the famous Tengboche Monastery (12,680'). Burned in 1989 and now completely rebuilt, Tengboche is the spiritual center of the Khumbu and a training center for new monks. After lunch, continue through this holy region to Pangboche. This incredibly scenic hike follows the Imja River, and Ama Dablam (22,349') and the great massif of Everest (29,028') hover majestically above. The tangible spirituality and stunning scenery of this place always impresses!

Day Excursion to Ama Dablam Base Camp

After crossing the Imja River and a gradual ascent to Lhabarma, you find yourself facing Ama Dablam, one of the Khumbu's most beloved and spectacular mountains. Ama Dablam Base Camp (15,013') sits on an open yak pasture beneath the west face, affording incredible views of Kan Tega (22,254'), Thamserku (21,729'), and Tawoche (21,463'). Here you'll likely meet climbing groups, either acclimatizing or fixing their route, as this trek coincides with climbing season. With binoculars you may even see climbers descending the steep ice slopes from the summit. Return to lodge.

Hike Back to Tashinga

This morning you cross the Mengbo and Imja rivers to reach a quiet trail offering an incredible panoramic vista complemented by charming old stone houses — and the blissful absence of other trekkers. Today is a shorter hike with time to stop at one of the tea houses along the way. When you arrive in Tashinga, check into the lodge and relish a free afternoon to rest and relax. Maybe it's siesta time — or, if you're feeling more energetic, explore the surrounding area on your own before reconvening for dinner.

Reach Monjo

Continue your push to Monjo. Leaving Tashinga Lodge, follow a small path to reach the main trail leading to the villages comprising Khumjung, approximately a one-hour hike. The path leads gently up the shallow valley to Khumjung, built into a mountain bowl and surrounded by patterned, terraced fields. Here in 1961 Sir Edmund Hillary's Himalaya Trust built its first school, which still operates today. And enter the Khumjung monastery for a peek at the infamous yeti scalp! Continue south to Monjo for the night.

Return to Lukla

Today you return to Lukla along the meandering Dudh Kosi, retracing your steps from Day 4. Pass Sherpa villages and soak in the stunning scenery until you arrive at the familiar lodge in Lukla.

Fly to Kathmandu

Bid a fond, if somewhat hesitant, farewell to the Khumbu as you fly from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.

Hinduism & Buddhism in Kathmandu

If your flight from Lukla operates as scheduled, you'll enjoy a morning tour of the Pashupatinath Hindu temple complex on the Bagmati River and Bodhnath's enormous Buddhist stupa — the largest in Asia and the center of Tibetan Buddhist culture in the Kathmandu Valley. This afternoon you're free to roam, relax, or do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing on your own. In the evening, join the group for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Depart for Home

After breakfast, transfer from hotel to airport and depart Kathmandu on your homeward-bound flight.

THE ULTIMATE EVEREST TREK IN NEPAL’S KHUMBU REGION

  • Explore the beautiful lakes of Gokyo
  • The Ultimate Mount Everest Trek
  • Hiking through the main valleys of the Khumbu
  • Cross the Renjo La, Cho La & Kongma La passes
  • Visit Everest Base Camp & Khumbu Icefall
  • Climb Kala Pattar (18,188 feet) and Gokyo Ri (17,585 feet)

The Mount Everest National Park has been a popular destination for trekkers and climbers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1950’s. Our Three Passes of Mount Everest Lodge Trek includes the crossing of the Cho La, Renjo La Pass and Kongma La passes and provides a high-altitude challenge for the hiker looking to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds. This trek offers unique views of the spectacular mountain scenery in the Everest region. We find ourselves crossing three high passes: the Renjo La (17,521ft/5,340m), the Cho La (17,777ft/5,420m) and the Kongma La (18,159ft/5,536m). We will also have the option of hiking to the top of two viewpoint summits: Gokyo Ri (17,585ft/5,360m) and Kala Pattar (18,188ft/5,545m).

At Namche Bazaar, we deviate off the beaten track into the little-traveled Bhote Koshi Valley, over the Renjo La Pass to Gokyo Lakes. From Lobuche we will visit Everest Base Camp before returning to Gorek Shep and hiking to the top of Kala Pattar the following morning. These seldom-trekked detours allow us to make a unique linking from Namche Bazaar to the Gokyo Valley and on to Mount Everest Base Camp. All three high passes and both mountain summits offer superb views of the snow-capped giants of the Khumbu, including Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cholatse and Makalu. The unrivaled scenery and solitude of these dramatic mountain valleys are well worth the effort of this demanding trek.

The Three Passes of Mount Everest Lodge Trek is part of our Epic Himalayan Journey Series! Altitude Graph

Additional information, trekking info.

Altitude Sickness:  The main and common risk while trekking above about 2500m is Altitude sickness. Altitude sickness is caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. The available amount of oxygen to sustain mental and physical alertness decreases with altitude. Available oxygen drops as the air density itself, the number of molecules (of both oxygen and nitrogen) per given volume, drops as altitude increases. So don’t ignore, if you have any symptoms then descending to a lower altitude is the only option.

Water:  Have some means to purify water, iodine or a fine ceramic filter are the best options. The streams should be considered polluted and whilst bottled water is often available, the disposal of plastic bottles is a problem.

Electricity in Nepal

Nepal is a developing country, Outside of major cities area electricity on trekking can be scares. You should have to pay 100-800 NRs per hour to charge goods on many lodges and also many tea-house treks, including in Annapurna base camp trek, Everest Base camp trek and many others treks also. Chargers often won't work on low power solar systems you find right up in the mountains so u can buy alternative bayonet light to electricity power plug converter, which will only works in low voltage is highlow. The standard Nepalese electrical outlet is a three-pronged triangle so bring three-pronged triangle chargers.

Nepal Climate information

Nepal is a landlocked country which lies in Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Nepal has monsoonal climate having four main seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn and winter. Below is a general guide to conditions at different seasons: January to March (winter):  In this season temperature will decrease at often 0°C (32°F) at night, with extreme cold at high elevations. It is possible to trek in places like the Everest region during the winter but due to extreme cold weather and heavy snow fall it may be quite difficult than as usual. April to June (summer):  In these months it is quite warm and dry weather. There is an abundance of blooming flowers in the Himalayas at this time, with rhododendrons, in particular, adding a splash of color to the landscape. This season is the best time to undertake mountain expeditions. June to September (Monsoon):  There will be heavy monsoonal rainfall in this season. Rains are generally lighter in high Himalayan reasons. In this season the mountain ranges are not often visible due to the clouds. October to December (autumn):  These months are cool and clear which is due to the end of monsoon, there is little dust in the air so this is the best season to visit the hilly and mountainous regions.

Today’s trek takes you through beautiful forests of rhododendron, giant fir, and magnolia trees. You’ll cross the Bhote Kosi River and begin a steep climb up to Namche Bazaar. Known as the “Gateway to Mount Everest,” Namche is the largest Sherpa village and a key trading hub. Locals from nearby villages come here for the weekly bazaar to sell fresh produce. This will be one of the toughest days due to the numerous uphill sections.

Acclimatization day/explore around Everest View hotel and Khumjung Village

Today is a rest day in Namche to help you adjust to the altitude, but we won’t stay inactive. We’ll hike to the Everest View Hotel to enjoy stunning views of Everest and have some tea. If you still have energy afterward, you can continue on to Khumjung village; if not, you can head back to the hotel at a relaxed pace. This will help you get ready for the rest of the trek. Staying active on a rest day is better than being idle and helps your body adjust to the changes in altitude and environment.

Trip Reviews

The team was really supportive from beginning to end: as soon as we arrived to Kathmandu we met the team and our super guide -“Bir”- who helped us purchase the few outstanding things we had to buy – on a record time as we only had a few hour left on KTM that day- even though it was not planned he stayed with us showing us the best mountain gear places in Thamel until he was sure we had got all we needed to start our EBC adventure on the coming morning. This is just a small piece of example of how supportive the team and especially our guide Bir was -as at the end, it’s him who we spent most of our time with. He was not only our guide to the EBC, but he gave us the best tips to survive on these mountains, and the most interesting pieces of Nepali history and culture. We had a blast, thank you all!

Additional Information

This is ADVENTURE travel , and many of the destinations on this site are in remote, underdeveloped areas where unpredictability is the norm. Despite careful planning and organization, our adventure trips can’t be taken for granted like regular trips. Many of the places we visit lack the emergency health and safety services you’re used to in the developed world. Internal flights can be canceled, road transport is often uncomfortable and unreliable, and hotel standards may not match those of the West.

If you’re not prepared for this, you shouldn’t travel with us . The unpredictability also means that our itineraries are statements of intent, not contractual obligations. Factors such as weather, transport difficulties, and political instability might require us to change any itinerary. The trip leader will make any necessary changes after consulting with the group. Such changes are rarely significant, and we always do our best to minimize their impact. However, we cannot be held responsible for changes or delays, regardless of their cause.

What makes this trip different ?

Trekking Team Groups is one of the main supporters of Ambe Foundation, a non-political and non-profit social organization. We contribute our support to the remote village of Nuwakot and different schools like Gramin Devi, Khumbeshwori through donation, sponsorship and partnership in various projects. For details click here what we do and why we do?

Trekking Team Group donates a percentage of business profits to the foundation on a yearly basis, which supports the ongoing maintenance cost required for Gramin Devi and Khumbeshwori school, a community-based school in Nuwakot.

Sponsorship

One of the major activities of Ambe foundation is the children sponsorship program, which is conducted with full collaboration with Trekking Team Group.

Partnership (Volunteering Program)

The Ambe Volunteer Program, organised by Ambe Foundation and Trekking Team Group, aims to mobilize teams of experts and interested individuals as an effective and economic measure in providing the human capital for education, health and community development in Nuwakot District.

Everest Luxury Lodge Trek | Cost and Itinerary Overview

If you like dining in style and want to trek luxuriously with a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayas in the backdrop, Himalayan Trekkers provide you with - Everest Luxury Lodge  Trek . It includes staying in quintessential lodges all around the Everest Region .

Experience this one-of-a-kind trek designed solely for comfort along with breathtaking views of multiple 8000m peaks visible around the region.

In a place where hot water is more of a feature than an amenity, you will experience Nepal’s finest trek with spacious rooms with attached bathrooms. Heated rooms, single supplement bedrooms, and much more are provided for an enjoyable experience.

The lodges are based on the Yeti Mountain Home chain at Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thame, and Kongde and are designed to deliver the best service. This package caters to finer hotels and better accommodations at locations in Kathmandu, and Khumbu like Phakding, Lukla, and Namche Bazaar.

Why Everest Luxury Lodge Trek?

The features of this Everest Luxury trek besides staying in luxury lodges include stunning views of the Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, & a noble trail along the valley's west side to Kongde. All in all, we spend 9 days experiencing the Khumbu region, home to Mount Everest.

We even provide an optional day hike itinerary to Farak Ri for those seeking a more sprawling view of the Khumbu Valley. One can expect lovely hiking conditions on this relatively simple Himalayan trek that barely touches 5000m.

The highest altitude we will rest at is 4250 meters, a modest elevation by Himalayan standards, and we don’t expect any accompanying altitude sickness issues on this hike. However, please note that proceeding above the 3000-meter elevation mark takes its toll on the body as compared to walking at lower elevations.

Most of the paths we will follow are well traversed by Sherpas and yaks, the former of which tends to care for some of these paths. Considering hikers will be required to walk between 3 to 4 hours every day for about a week - this Everest luxury trek is intended for hiking at a moderate pace.

If you are on a slightly less budget, you can choose our standard 14-day Everest base camp trek itinerary .

The trail follows through numerous Sherpa villages, along with enjoying spectacular vistas of Everest and other surrounding mountains. This trek is a moderate walk that follows some of the classic Everest trails and beaten tracks before heading to the quieter valley of Thame.

Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty

Although the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is rated as a fairly tough trek, the actual difficulty of the journey will depend on your fitness level and how well you adjust to the high altitude. Hiking for many hours every day, with an average elevation increase of about 500 meters, the trek takes 12 days to finish. At 5,643 meters above sea level, Kala Pathar is the highest point of the journey.

The altitude is the trek's biggest obstacle. The air gets thinner as you go higher, which might make breathing harder. Trekkers frequently experience altitude sickness, which can lead to headaches, nausea, dizziness, and exhaustion. Before moving up to higher altitudes, it's crucial to spend a few days at a lower altitude to fully acclimate to the altitude.

The trail's rough terrain and unpredictable weather present additional difficulties. There are many suspension bridges to cross, and there are some steep and slick parts of the course. In the Everest area, the weather is unpredictable and can snow at any time of year. It's critical to pack appropriately and be ready for any kind of weather.

Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a condition that can occur when ascending to high altitudes too quickly. It's characterised by symptoms like headaches, nausea, and dizziness. While our GrandTrek minimises altitude-related risks with gradual acclimatisation, it's crucial to stay hydrated and listen to your body.

Our experienced guides are well trained to recognize and address any signs of altitude sickness, ensuring your safety and well-being throughout the journey. Embrace the stunning heights of the Himalayas while we take care of your health and comfort.

Travel Insurance for Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Getting travel insurance is a must when doing treks like the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek. Travel insurance helps to cover medical crises, trip delays, stolen luggage, or any other unforeseen circumstances.

Getting travel insurance is a must when organising any trip, but it's especially important for trekkers. Medical crises, trip delays or cancellations, misplaced or stolen luggage, and other unforeseen events that may arise while travelling are usually covered by this kind of insurance.

It's crucial to have coverage for medical evacuations and other emergency services when trekking in a remote area like Everest. It is thus advised that you acquire a complete travel insurance policy that includes coverage for high-altitude hiking, such as the Luxury Trek to EBC, as well as any other activities you want to engage in while visiting.

Permits for Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Permits are a necessary authorization needed for the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek. The first essential permit that you’ll need is Sagarmatha National Park Permit. All people entering Sagarmatha National Park, which includes the Everest area, must have this permission. For foreigners, the permit costs NPR 3,000.

Another important permit is the Trekkers Information Management System permit. It is mandatory for all trekkers in Nepal to have this card. It assists in monitoring hikers' whereabouts and ensuring their security in the highlands. For foreigners, the TIMS card costs NPR 2,000.

A local area permit is another important permit that you’ll need for your luxury trek to EBC. All tourists accessing the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, which encompasses most of the Everest hiking route, must have this permission. For foreigners, the permit costs NPR 2,000.

Best Weather Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

There are four different seasons in the Everest region's weather: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Your experience on your luxury trek to Everest Base Camp will be influenced by the distinct temperature differences and weather patterns that each season provides.

The spring season usually lasts from March to May. While there may be occasional rainfall, springtime generally brings pleasant weather for your luxury trek to EBC.  Similarly, the summer season usually lasts from June to August.

Trekking may become more difficult during the summer season due to the increasing precipitation, since paths may become muddy and slippery. However, the brilliant wildflowers and lush forest this season enhance its panoramic appeal.

The autumn season, on the other hand, lasts from September to November. With its perfect combination of bright sky and temperate temperatures, autumn is another great time of year to go luxury trekking to Everest Base Camp.

Lastly, the winter season lasts from December to February. The Everest area has cold temperatures, strong winds, and occasional snowfall throughout the winter season. Trekking in this season is regarded as difficult and requires proper weather preparation.

Here is a list of temperature ranges during different seasons:
