Delta Travelnet: How Airline Employees, Their Friends, and Family Book Standby Seats

Not all travelers flying on standby are ticketed passengers trying to catch an earlier flight, or hoping to get a seat after a cancellation of missed connection.

Many are actually airline employees, both current and former, or buddy pass-holders (friends and family of airline employees with discount vouchers). In the industry, they are known as non-revenue, or "non-rev" passengers.

Standby seats are rarely given out according to when a passenger is added to the standby list. Ticketed, paying travelers will always get priority. Non-rev passengers are prioritized by status or relationship to the company. For instance, active Delta employees using vacation passes trump active employees without them, though any active Delta employee will be prioritized over a retiree. Delta employees (either active or retired) are more likely to get seated than active Delta Connection employees, and passengers holding buddy passes, as well as Delta Connection retirees, are at the bottom of the pile.

Unlike paying passengers, airline employees and their friends, relatives, and buddy pass travelers don't have to show up at the check-in desk to get added to the standby list.

In the case of Delta Air Lines employees and their traveler partners, for example, there is an application called Delta Travelnet that makes the process for booking non-rev traveler a little easier. And because these travelers are not guaranteed a seat, there is a bit of strategy involved in planning non-rev travel — and that's finding flights that have the space to accommodate extra standby travelers.

Using Delta Travelnet

Travelers using Delta's Travelnet application will log into apps.delta.com, and select the Travelnet link. The default search option is to show “All Direct Flights.” For more options, change the search parameters to “All Flights." This will show flights with connections as well as direct flights. Connecting flights are, generally speaking, better bets than direct flights from major hubs.

Delta Travelnet’s search results page provides flight numbers, origins, destinations, and aircraft types. Just like searching for a conventional ticket, these details matter.

But when flying non-rev, the availability of seats for each flight has a much more direct impact on the likelihood of getting to travel. Travelnet’s search results break down the number of seats available (labeled “Av”), the number of tickets available for sale (labeled “Au”), as well as the total seat capacity (labeled “Cap”) in each cabin. (Capacity numbers are not displayed on mobile devices.)

All airlines plan for no-shows by overselling flights. To find out how many no-shows Delta expects, subtract the number of authorized seats by the number of available seats. The flights most likely to have room for standbys are the flights with the most available seats.

In addition to determining the number of available seats, travelers also need to consider how many other non-rev passengers are planning on taking this flight. Click on the list icon in the search results to show the non-rev passengers already on the standby list for that flight. (On a mobile device, this appears as the “Listed” tab.) No-show rates are even higher for standbys than paid passengers, but a shorter list is better than a longer one.

On the day of the flight, non-rev travelers check in just like regular, paying passengers — only instead of a boarding pass, they get added to the gate agent’s standby list.

DLnet.delta.com provides access to this portal at its main location, including the “LOGIN Authorized Users” feature.

Your login credentials should be entered here on the Delta Extranet page when you click on this option.

The information Delta Airlines Company makes available to employees is accessible once you successfully log in from that page.

It is easy to log in to the Delta Extranet if you know your login details. The login page has a link to help you reset your password if you forget it. 

For Delta Airlines employees to access Deltanet, a Delta Passport ID must be known to recover their password. You must first set up an account if you are not already an authorized Deltanet user. 

How to register for an account at DLNET – DeltaNet

How to access DeltaNet :

• Go to https://register.delta.com/ to access the Delta Employee Portal.
• Obtaining your PIN and Password from HR
• Type those login credentials into the appropriate fields on that page.
• Then, click Sign In to complete your registration.
• After completing the process, you will receive an email with instructions on how to verify your Delta Net account.

If you enter the login details incorrectly more than three times, your account will be blocked and you will not be able to log into the portal until after 30 minutes have passed after registering for an account here . 

You can also receive login errors if you have your firewall or popup blocker enabled, so make sure these are disabled before trying to log in. Cookies are also necessary to complete the login process.

• If you have any issues remembering your password or aren’t able to log in, click the Trouble Logging In gray button under the Sign In button
• Enter your PPR or Delta Login. And click the red Send Request button
• You will be led through and process to set up a new password

What info can I get in DLNET?

Logging in to DLNET on delta.com not only makes it easier for employees to access their personal information but also enables them to get to know their colleagues and improve their knowledge to provide the best customer service possible. 

To enhance productivity in the workplace, employees have access to the information they need through the portal, making it convenient to access the information they need. 

DLNet includes information about employee benefits. Delta employees can use their travel privileges after completing 30 days of service with the company, such as:

• A full range of health insurance coverage, including dental, medical, and vision 
• Information about employee emotional well-being programs. 
• Information about direct deposits.
• Up-to-date Delta Airlines information. 
• Answers regarding the calendar changes in the DLNet Work plan.
• The disability benefits system.
• Credit card or CC benefits

As a result of interacting with fellow employees via the portal, they can learn a lot about the company’s policies, procedures, and procedures. They know how to provide travelers with the best information possible regarding areas like accommodation and attractions for the different locations.

Upon logging in to the Delta Extranet, you will be directed to a tutorial explaining how to use the content available on the portal. However, the information is the property of your employer and is only meant for your use of you as an employee. 

The portal is a good way for employees to interact with each other, learn more about the company, and to be able to interact with other employees. The information you receive will be useful as an employee in understanding how the company expects you to be more productive and advance your career.

How to access Delta TravelNet

If you’re a Delta employee or retiree, you might be wondering how to access Delta TravelNet. It’s easy, just visit the website dlnet.delta.com and sign in with your Delta employee login.

Just type in dlnet.delta.com and enter your login information. And for those Delta retirees out there, you can also access DeltaNet at deltanet.delta.com.

It’s important to remember that Delta TravelNet is only available to Delta employees and retirees, so make sure you have your login information handy.

Moscow Oblast is a federal subject of Russia located in the Central Federal District. Moscow, the capital city of the country, is the administrative center of Moscow Oblast. At the same time, Moscow is not part of this region, it is a separate federal subject of Russia, a city of federal importance.

The population of Moscow Oblast is about 7,769,000 (2022), the area - 44,379 sq. km.

History of Moscow Oblast

The territory of the Moscow region was inhabited more than 20 thousand years ago. In the first millennium AD, this land was inhabited mostly by the Finno-Ugric peoples (Meryane and Meshchera). In the 9th-10th centuries, the Slavs began active development of the region. The population was engaged in hunting, fisheries, agriculture, and cattle breeding.

In the middle of the 12th century, the territory of the present Moscow region became part of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality, the first towns were founded (Volokolamsk in 1135, Moscow in 1147, Zvenigorod in 1152, Dmitrov in 1154). In the first half of the 13th century, the Vladimir-Suzdal principality was conquered by the Mongols.

In the 14th-16th centuries, Moscow principality became the center of unification of Russian lands. The history of the Moscow region is inextricably linked to military events of the Time of Troubles - the siege of the Trinity-Sergius Monastery by the troops of False Dmitry II, the first and second militias.

In 1708, by decree of Peter the Great, Moskovskaya gubernia (province) was established. It included most of the territory of present Moscow oblast. In 1712, St. Petersburg became the capital of the Russian Empire and the significance of the Moscow region as the country’s economic center began to decrease.

In 1812, the Battle of Borodino took place near Moscow. It was the biggest battle of the Russian-French War of 1812. In the second half of the 19th century, especially after the peasant reform of 1861, the Moscow province experienced economic growth. In 1851, the first railway connected Moscow and St. Petersburg; in 1862 - Nizhny Novgorod.

The population of the Moscow region increased significantly (in 1847 - 1.13 million people, in 1905 - 2.65 million). On the eve of the First World War, Moscow was a city with a population of more than one million people.

In November, 1917, the Soviet power was established in the region. In 1918, the country’s capital was moved from St. Petersburg to Moscow that contributed to economic recovery of the province. In the 1920s-1930s, a lot of churches located near Moscow were closed, a large number of cultural monuments were destroyed. On January 14, 1929, Moscow Oblast was formed.

In 1941-1942, one of the most important battles of the Second World War took place on the territory of the region - the Battle for Moscow. In the postwar years, the growth of economic potential of the region continued; several science cities were founded (Dubna, Troitsk, Pushchino, Chernogolovka).

In the 1990s, the economy of Moscow Oblast experienced a deep crisis. Since the 1990s, due to the motorization of the population and commuting, road traffic situation in the Moscow region significantly deteriorated. Traffic jams have become commonplace.

Moscow Oblast - Features

Moscow Oblast is located in the central part of the East European Plain, in the basin of the rivers of Volga, Oka, Klyazma, Moskva. The region stretches from north to south for 310 km, from west to east - 340 km. It was named after the city of Moscow, which however is not part of the region. Part of the administrative authorities of the region is located in Krasnogorsk.

On the territory of the Moscow region, there are 77 cities and towns, 19 of them have a population of more than 100 thousand people. The largest cities are Balashikha (518,300), Podolsk (309,600), Mytishchi (262,700), Khimky (256,300), Korolyov (225,300), Lubertsy (209,600), Krasnogorsk (174,900), Elektrostal (149,000), Odintsovo (138,900), Kolomna (136,800), Domodedovo (136,100).

The climate is temperate continental. Summers are warm, winters are moderately cold. The average temperature in January is minus 10 degrees Celsius, in July - plus 19 degrees Celsius.

One of the most important features of the local economy is its proximity to Moscow. Some of the cities (Odintsovo, Krasnogorsk, Mytishchi) have become in fact the “sleeping districts” of Moscow. The region is in second place in terms of industrial production among the regions of Russia (after Moscow).

The leading industries are food processing, engineering, chemical, metallurgy, construction. Moscow oblast has one of the largest in Russia scientific and technological complexes. Handicrafts are well developed (Gzhel ceramics, Zhostov trays, Fedoskino lacquered miniatures, toy-making).

Moscow railway hub is the largest in Russia (11 radial directions, 2,700 km of railways, the density of railways is the highest in Russia). There are two large international airports - Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. Vnukovo airport is used for the flights within the country.

Attractions of Moscow Oblast

Moscow Oblast has more than 6,400 objects of cultural heritage:

• famous estate complexes,
• ancient towns with architectural monuments (Vereya, Volokolamsk, Dmitrov, Zaraysk, Zvenigorod, Istra, Kolomna, Sergiev Posad, Serpukhov),
• churches and monasteries-museums (the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, Joseph-Volokolamsk monastery, Pokrovsky Khotkov monastery, Savvino Storozhevsky monastery, Nikolo Ugresha monastery).

The most famous estate complexes:

• Arkhangelskoye - a large museum with a rich collection of Western European and Russian art of the 17th-19th centuries,
• Abramtsevo - a literary and artistic center,
• Melikhovo - an estate owned by A.P. Chekhov at the end of the 19th century,
• Zakharovo and Bolshiye Vyazyomy included in the History and Literature Museum-Reserve of Alexander Pushkin,
• House-Museum of the composer P.I. Tchaikovsky in Klin,
• Muranovo that belonged to the poet F.I. Tyutchev,
• Shakhmatovo - the estate of the poet Alexander Blok.

The architectural ensemble of the Trinity Sergius Lavra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The largest museum of the Moscow region is located in Serpukhov - Serpukhov Historical and Art Museum.

The places of traditional arts and crafts are the basis of the souvenir industry of Russia:

• Fedoskino - lacquer miniature painting,
• Bogorodskoe - traditional manufacture of wooden toys,
• Gzhel - unique tradition of creating ceramics,
• Zhostovo - painted metal crafts,
• Pavlovsky Posad - fabrics with traditional printed pattern.

Some of these settlements have museums dedicated to traditional crafts (for example, a toy museum in Bogorodskoe), as well as centers of learning arts and crafts.

Sherpa reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, alter or otherwise update these terms and conditions at any time, and You agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations or updates immediately upon them being posted on the Sherpa website. None of the staff or agents of Sherpa (other than the CEO, in writing) has the right or authority to amend or waive these Terms and Conditions, other than via posting to the Sherpa website.

‍3. Any commentaries and information contained in, or provided by, Sherpa should not be considered personal legal advice. Please consult with Your lawyer with respect to Your particular circumstances.

4. Sherpa and its services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any representations, warranties or conditions of any kind, whether expressed or implied, and including without limitation implied representations.

5. Sherpa does not act as a representative of the destination governments, and is in no way affiliated with these governments. Sherpa operates as a third party, submitting applications through our simplified interface, on behalf of You. To this end, Sherpa cannot guarantee performance on behalf of destination governments, and can only speak on behalf of the actions undertaken by Sherpa in submitting visa applications and delivering visas.

‍6. Sherpa commits to forwarding government emails within 48 hours; however, it is your responsibility to check email promptly and respond if needed. We take no responsibility if you fail to respond to requests for information or evidence. Sherpa assumes no responsibility to reply to any request of information on your behalf.

7. By using Sherpa, You are appointing the Sherpa Team as Your representatives, and authorizing any relevant government to share information about Your application with the Sherpa Team.

8. Reasonable effort has been made to ensure that the material contained on Sherpa is accurate at the time of publication. By accessing Sherpa, You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sherpa and its agents, suppliers and their respective directors, officers and employees from and against any and all actions, proceedings, costs, claims, liabilities, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with a breach by You of these terms and conditions or the use of this application.

11. By accessing Sherpa, You; (a) expressly waive any right to commence or to participate in any class action against or involving Sherpa; and (b) expressly agree to opt out of any class action that may be commenced by another person.

12. The contents of Sherpa are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Unauthorized use or exploitation of such content is strictly prohibited, including without limitation, unauthorized downloading, retransmission, storage in any medium, copying, redistribution, reproduction, or republication of the Site, or any part thereof, for any purpose.

13. Other sites accessed by hypertext appearing in Sherpa may have been independently developed by parties other than Sherpa. No consent or waiver by either party (You or Sherpa), or of any breach or default by the other party in its performance of its obligations under these terms will be deemed or construed to be a consent to, or a waiver of a continuing breach or default or any other breach or default of those or any other obligations of that party. No consent or waiver will be effective unless in writing and either signed by, or sourcing from, the party to be bound.

18. If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed to be severed from the rest of these terms and conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

19. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, excluding any conflicts of laws which would lead to the application of any other laws. By accessing Sherpa, you hereby irrevocably submit and attorn to the provincial and federal courts located in the City of Toronto, Ontario for any disputes or matters arising from, connected with, or relating to Sherpa, this agreement or any related matters.

20. If you have subsequent matters with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and we receive correspondence due to an error by the government, we take no responsibility over these government correspondences. We are not your representatives for any immigration matters.
