Their staff quickly resolved my problem, when I had incorrectly inserted the wrong name

Upgrading my travel insurance almost last minute

I called to upgrade my travel insurance that I have for a whole year. I wanted to add a new country and wanted to find out whether it was cheaper to get a new insurance for that country, or add it to my existing one, that will come to an end in a few months' time. Zyreena had to check with managers, then send it off to the Underwriters, as I had a recent claim, and ask them to decide urgenly, instead of the 3-5 days. i The next day she called me, that they accepted me and in about10 minutes I had the new travel insurance emailed to me. Zyreena was very understanding, when I explained that I needed to know urgently, as I am due to travel in 2 days (I didn't want to leave it for the last minute, but wanted to wait for the visa and buy the ticket first). I have always had good experiences with the company, I always renew my travel insurance every year and get a little loyalty discount.

Updated 2 days ago NEVER PAY YOU This company refuses to pay out This company refuses to pay out. It keeps telling you that they need more information, you call them up and show them you’ve provided information, they then say ah yes this will now take 5-10 days to pay out, then 5 days later you get another email saying they need more information. They have done this now to me 5 times, I have issued complaint and nothing is happening. Do not use cover for you under any circumstances if you expect to be paid for a claim. They will just keep stringing you

CoverForYou Travel Insurance Review: What You Need to Know

CoverForYou offers a range of holiday cover plans to suit a variety of budgets and coverage needs, from those looking to cover a single holiday in Europe with budget cover for less than £5, up to those needing insurance for more valuable holidays worth up to £7,500 (or possibly more, if you need it).

Top tip: Travel Disruption cover is an extra add on. Keep this in mind if you want extra cover in the post-pandemic world of frequent cancellations and delays! It could be the best £2 - £10 you spend on a holiday.

There are basically two ways to buy CoverForYou holiday cover—direct from their website or from a comparison site like QuoteZone. What's the main difference? It depends on the comparison site. Our partner QuoteZone offers the same plans as you can buy direct (Silver, Gold and Platinum). But other comparison sites might have different plans—this typically means they might cost a touch less but they have lower cover limits, fewer features and higher excess levels. For example, MoneysuperMarket sells Economy, Standard and Premier plans and Confused.com sells Emerald, Ruby and Diamond plans. These offer less cancellation cover and charge a higher excess than the comparable Silver, Gold and Platinum plans you can get from QuoteZone.

The CoverForYou plan with the highest cover (£7.5k Cancellation and £3,000 of Baggage) is the Platinum plan, which is available direct from them or from QuoteZone. Those who don't need that much cover may very well find a cheaper deal from a comparison site, but remember the coverage and excess will be different. What does CoverForYou cover for coronavirus?

• DO cover medical claims due to Coronavirus
• DO cover cancellation due to you falling ill with Coronavirus and being unable to travel or being required to self isolate
• DO cover curtailment due to the death of a close relative due to Coronavirus
• DO NOT cover any cancellation due to government restriction on travel or the need to quarantine either at your destination or on return home due to Coronavirus

Are Mobile Phones Covered? Mobile phones are covered (up to £500 or £750) on all plans bought direct. We imagine these levels may be too low for most people, given we tend to travel with more than one gadget and they can cost hundreds or thousands of pound each. If you want £1,000 to £3,000 of total gadget cover you can buy the Extended Gadget Cover option, which can be added to policies bought direct and policies bought from a comparison site. Expect to pay anywhere from £11.75 to £69 for the Extended Gadget Cover option, more details of which can be found in the Gadget section.

Does CoverForYou Travel Insurance Cover Trips in the UK? Holidays in the UK are covered under CoverForYou Annual, Multi-trip policies, so long as you have pre-booked at least two nights’ accommodation in a hotel, motel, holiday camp, bed and breakfast, holiday cottage or similar accommodation rented for a fee.

Pre-Existing Conditions: As part of the online application you'll be asked a series of brief medical questions. If you have a medical condition, CoverForYou may be able to offer cover for some pre-existing medical conditions , for which you may need to pay a higher premium. Pre-existing conditions are only covered if they've been fully declared, accepted and paid for.

How do CoverForYou Prices Compare?

Generally speaking, holiday cover from CoverForYou is lower than the average cost of travel insurance , so anyone price conscious should definitely take a look at them. Despite that, they have some really great coverage options despite the affordable prices, whether your travel plans will take to you Europe , America or elsewhere.

Insurance quotes can vary significantly from day to day and according to each individual's details, so please just use this data for general educational purposes only; your quotes may reflect a large degree of variation. Our sample quotes were gathered for a healthy, 35-year-old individual traveller. Below you can see further data, including for Single trip policies.

You get a slight discount per person when travelling as a couple. And while kids don't exactly go free, the additional cost of adding children to a policy is pretty small (e.g. an extra £15 - £40 for two kids for an annual, worldwide policy).

CoverForYou Gadget Cover

As you can see in the Policy Limits , plans bought directly from CoverForYou include a low level (£250 or £500) of Gadget cover to protect mobile phones, iPads, etc. If, like many people, you travel with gadgets worth more than these low limits, you want to consider buying Extended Gadget Cover, which provides cover of £1k, £2k or £3k of total gadget cover (max £1,000, £1,500 or £1,500 per item), depending on which option you choose. Extended Gadget Cover can be added to both policies bought direct from CoverForYou or from a comparison site like QuoteZone.

Gadgets include mobile phones, iPhones, iPads, tablets, cameras, Go Pro’s, smartwatches and laptops.

Gagdet cover can cost between roughly £26 and £55 for Annual, Multi-trip policies or £11 to £24 for Single trip policies, depending on the plan and level of cover. (FYI the average cost of optional Gadget travel cover market-wide is £35 for Annual, Milti-trip policies and £13.50 for Single Trip policies.)

Buying Direct vs Using a Comparison Site

Generally speaking, the cheapest CoverForYou holiday cover plans are available through comparison sites, whereas the plan with the best cover is available direct from the CoverForYou website or from our comparison partner. Beyond that, there are pros and cons to both sources in terms of features and price points. We'll try to explain some of the differences to help you decide whether buying direct or through an aggregator comparison site better suits your particular needs.

Below is a table detailing the differences in Standard excess and upper age limits. You'll notice the excess and upper age limits are generally more favourable on plans bought direct rather than from a comparison site—depending on your age and situation, these details may or may not be important to you.

And most negative reviews lately are related to a slow claims process, which CoverForYou says is due to the claims handler being extremely busy due to the volume of travel disruption in the last several months. They say most cases are resolved within 10 weeks, but not all are and this time frame is frustrating to some people. And some people are frustrated because they expect cover outside of what they purchased or when they don't follow the terms and conditions of the policy. For example:

"As other reviewers have suggested the timeline for claims being resolved just gets longer and longer every-time you contact. Apart from spending a long time on the phone to find out whats happening you receive no other communication." "... Sold us a £200+ policy under the title diamond cover and apparently it does not cover "travel disruption". Staggering!!" Saga travel insurance is offered as one, simple travel insurance plan to those over 50 years of age—with no upper age limit. We like that Saga includes cover for Catastrophe and a higher level of Personal Belongings/Baggage cover on all policies, plus Golf. Another perk is that travellers whose international flight is delayed more than 2 hours can benefit from access to a LoungeKey airport lounge, as part of Trip Delay cover. While travellers can be covered of any age, prices do rise steadily for older customers.

Bottom Line: If you are an older traveller, especially in your 70s or 80s, Saga may be a more viable travel insurance option for you, as they specialize in "mature" travellers.

Steer Clear Of This Company!

After being given the runaround and advised to cancel my policy to help with my refund as my holiday was cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation, I then get told I'm not eligible for a refund. This was probably their agenda from the start. Given the diverse situation and the difficulties people are experiencing the very poor advice, customer service and empathy from this company is disgusting. There's no way I will ever use this lot again.

They offer an online, confidential screening process which allows you to declare medical conditions that will be covered on your travel insurance policy. Please note that undisclosed conditions will not be covered and can cause your policy to be voided entirely.

TERRIBLE company

TERRIBLE company. No customer service. Making a claim for LOST BAGGAE and they don't want to know. ansaphones refer you to www or airlines. Only reply I have is when i make a poor review. . . . . Left positive reviews for all other aspects of the holiday. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are awful. Noe heading to small claims court

No partial refund for cancellations.

Had to cancel our policy due to Coronavirus. Couldn't even get a partial refund for a policy that wasn't due to start until April 2022. Basically they have had our money for doing nothing. Not impressed.

You should register your claim as soon as possible but within 30 days following the discovery of the incident (or in the event of the incident occurring outside of the United Kingdom, as soon as reasonably possible upon your return to the United Kingdom).

Please ensure your policy number is quoted in all correspondence to assist a quick and efficient response.

The claim administrators will make every effort to resolve your complaint immediately. If they cannot resolve your complaint by the end of the next working day they will acknowledge your complaint within 5 days of receipt and will do their best to resolve the problem within four weeks by sending you a final response letter.

If they are unable to resolve your complaint in this time they will write to advise you of progress and will endeavour to resolve your complaint within the following four weeks.

If you are still dissatisfied after receiving their final response letter you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service at the following address:
