Except for its prime location, you can get better value-for-money somewhere else!”

Location is FANTASTIC with its close proximity to the Eiffel Tower so if you want to catch the tower in its glory at night, you don't have to go far. Aside from that, everything else is really not up to standard for a 5-star hotel. The housekeeping did a poor job at cleaning the room (crumbs were still left on the carpet though the room has been cleaned), left a note to request for a shower cap but didn't get it (maybe the housekeeping staff only understand French). Coffee pods were not replenished daily that we had to buy our own supplies - yes, they don't cost much but this is definitely NOT the kind of service guests expect/want from a 5-star hotel. Slippers were also not replenished daily - i mean, we don't get a cheaper rate with each extra day that we stay there so why should we expect less than what we got on our first day of stay, right? On some days, we were given large bath towels but on other days, the towels were smaller. They really could and SHOULD do better...

Comfortable Stay”

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and a great layout . The beds were extremely comfortable and the apartment had all necessary amenities for a family of 4. The location was good and within walking distance to many restaurants and tourist spots . The only minor issue for us was the hotel is on a busy road so expect traffic noise and the pub across the street meant some large crowds with loud patrons Other than that I would recommend this hotel .

Paris 2024 : des anneaux olympiques "vont rester sur la tour Eiffel" après les Jeux, annonce Anne Hidalgo

Les anneaux olympiques vont " rester sur la Tour Eiffel" après la fin des Jeux paralympiques, a annoncé la maire PS de Paris Anne Hidalgo dans un entretien accordé au quotidien Ouest France, samedi 31 août. "En tant que maire de Paris, la décision me revient et j'ai l'accord du CIO. Donc oui, ils vont rester sur la tour Eiffel" , explique-t-elle au sujet des cinq anneaux, accrochés début juin sur le monument emblématique de la capitale.

De nouveaux anneaux, "aussi grands mais plus légers" , seront fixés "le plus vite possible" sur la tour de fer, les anneaux actuellement installés étant "trop lourds" pour "résister durablement" , précise-t-elle. L'élue socialiste exprime également son souhait d'installer le long de la rue de la Chapelle, "lieu symbolique" du 18e arrondissement de Paris, les statues des dix femmes françaises apparues sur la Seine lors de la cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux olympiques.

La vasque pérennisée aux Tuileries ?

"C'est une avenue majeure qui va vers Saint-Denis et la basilique des rois de France. C'est un symbole fort, j'en ai discuté avec Tony Estanguet qui trouve l'idée excellente" , ajoute-t-elle. Si l'élue réaffirme également son envie de voir la vasque olympique, "objet indissociable des Jeux de Paris" , maintenue aux Tuileries, la décision revient néanmoins au président de la République, le site étant une propriété de l'État.

Sur l'accessibilité du métro parisien, la maire de la capitale s'est dite "favorable à une adaptation complète" du réseau, avant de souligner les "coûts extrêmement importants" de sa rénovation, qui nécessiteront des recettes publiques supplémentaires. "Je veux bien participer à l'effort général, même si les transports relèvent d'abord de la compétence de l'État et de la Région, mais je n'ai pas l'argent pour financer le tiers de ce chantier titanesque" , relève-t-elle.

Quelques jours après le lancement des Jeux paralympiques (28 août-8 septembre), la maire de la ville-hôte s'est cependant félicitée "que les Français soient retombés amoureux de Paris" lors de l'événement. "Paris ne sera plus jamais comme avant" , assure-t-elle au moment de dresser le bilan des Jeux, avant de rappeler leur " héritage " laissé dans la capitale, dont la baignade en eau libre dans la Seine , qui devrait être autorisée sur le bras Marie, à Bercy ou encore sur le bras de Grenelle d'ici l'été 2025.

Le démontage des tribunes, des terrains ou encore de tous les dispositifs installés pour les compétitions a débuté dès la fin de la cérémonie de clôture. Il devrait durer jusqu’à la fin du mois d’octobre

Le démontage des sites olympiques et paralympiques notamment dans le centre de Paris devrait s’achever d’ici « fin octobre », a fait savoir mardi Edouard Donnelly, directeur exécutif du comité d’organisation des JO au cours d’un point presse. Certains démontages ont commencé dans la nuit du 26 au 27 juillet après la cérémonie d’ouverture des JO inédite sur la Seine. Mobiliers, câbles, éclairage, tribunes… « on démonte à l’inverse de ce qu’on a monté », a expliqué le dirigeant.

Certains sites comme celui du VTT à Elancourt, le golf à Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelynes, ou encore le stade de Lille qui a reçu le basket et le hand ont déjà été remis à l’identique. Dans le centre de Paris, « cela s’échelonne sur septembre et octobre ». Christophe Rosa, délégué général adjoint aux JO de la mairie de Paris, a expliqué qu’une « phase de remise en état » suivait l’état des lieux de sortie, comme remonter les lampadaires de la place de la Concorde ou resemer de la pelouse au Trocadéro. Pour l’instant, « pas de mauvaise surprise », a-t-il dit.

Le Stade de France bientôt prêt

A la Concorde, qui a accueilli la cérémonie d’ouverture des Jeux paralympiques après les sports urbains olympiques, « d’ici début octobre on aura retiré nos installations sur la moitié ouest » et la partie est « sera démontée d’ici la fin du mois d’octobre », a précisé Edouard Donnelly.

Le pont Alexandre III « sera libéré d’ici fin septembre ». À Versailles en revanche, sur le site olympique d’équitation, les travaux de remise en état dureront jusqu’au « printemps et été 2025 ». Après la clôture des Jeux paralympiques dimanche, le Stade de France sera prêt pour le concert de Mylen Farmer le 27 septembre. Interrogé sur la date à laquelle seront démontés les anneaux olympiques sur la Tour Eiffel , qui pourraient y être remplacés par une version plus légère, M. Rosa a précisé que c’est « en train d’être calé avec le CIO et ArcelorMittal ».

Le nouveau directeur exécutif de la Solideo (Société de livraison des ouvrages olympiques), Yann Krysinski, a rappelé que le village olympique accueillera ses premiers habitants « fin 2025 ». Les collégiens du collège Dora Maar situé en face du village pourront réintégrer leurs locaux « la semaine prochaine », a-t-il aussi précisé.

Les premiers habitants du village des médias à Dugny (Seine-Saint-Denis) arriveront « au premier trimestre 2025 ». La construction des 500 logements de la deuxième tranche de ce village « démarrera en 2025 » pour une livraison en 2027.

Quant au comité d’organisation des JOP, monté à plus de 4 000 salariés pendant l’été, une première vague de 1 500 à 2 000 personnes est sur le point de partir, et les clés du siège de Saint-Denis seront rendues « fin septembre » pour un siège plus confidentiel situé dans le 18e arrondissement de Paris.

Jeux paralympiques, cécifoot : les images de la qualification des Bleus pour la finale

Au stade tour Eiffel, l’équipe de France de cécifoot a battu la Colombie 1-0 et s’est qualifiée pour la finale. Elle affrontera samedi l’Argentine, avec à la clé une médaille d’or ou d’argent.

Ils se portent dans les bras, s’enlacent, vont saluer le carré des supporters au son du tube « Freed from desire » de Gala et des « On est en finale ! » d’un public en ébullition, avant de s’offrir un tour d’honneur.

Au stade tour Eiffel, les Bleus du cécifoot viennent de battre la Colombie 1 à 0 et se qualifient ainsi pour la finale des Jeux paralympiques samedi à 20 heures. Ils affronteront l’Argentine qui s’est imposée face au Brésil, vainqueur des cinq dernières éditions des Jeux paralympiques, avec à la clé au mieux une médaille d’or et au pire une… médaille d’argent ! Ils tenteront de faire encore mieux que l’argent - leur meilleure performance jusque-là - raflée il y a douze ans aux Jeux de Londres.

Les Tricolores doivent leur succès à un but, en seconde mi-temps, d’une frappe puissante de leur capitaine Frédéric Villeroux et les arrêts spectaculaires, pour ne pas dire miraculeux, de leur gardien Alessandro Bartolomucci.

Méritant parfaitement son surnom médiatique de « Messi du cécifoot », Frédéric Villeroux, 41 ans, a été dans tous les bons coups, provoquant même les fautes adverses.

La victoire face à la Colombie, 4e au dernier Championnat du monde à Birmingham en 2023, est méritée. Une sacrée revanche pour les Français qui avaient perdu, en mai, contre les Sud-Américains sur ce même score de 1 à 0 lors du tournoi international en mai à Schiltigheim (Bas-Rhin).

10 000 spectateurs au soutien

Les Tricolores ont encore pu compter sur le soutien inconditionnel de la très grande majorité des quelque 10 000 spectateurs, avec un carré des supporters chaud bouillant malgré des températures frisquettes pour la saison. « Je veux entendre les tribunes trembler », convie d’un des deux maîtres de cérémonie quelques minutes avant le coup d’envoi à 17h30. Sous une pluie fine, à l’heure de la sortie des bureaux, les tribunes sont encore bien clairsemées. Mais elles vont progressivement se remplir au fil des secondes de match et surtout des éclaircies.

À la fin de la première mi-temps, le stade tour Eiffel affiche quasi complet. À un arrêt de jeu, le numéro 10, Frédéric Villeroux, enchaîne les moulinets avec ses bras pour demander aux foules de faire du bruit. Quelques secondes d’acclamations avant le retour au silence pour ne surtout pas perturber les joueurs de champ atteints de déficience visuelle (seuls les gardiens de but sont voyants) et qui portent le même masque occultant, se déplaçant à l’oreille, au son des grelots dans le ballon et les consignes à voix haute de leur staff.

En première mi-temps, les Bleus se sont procuré les actions les plus dangereuses, notamment sous la houlette de leur dribbleur-vedette Frédéric Villeroux, 41 ans, se présentant, en début de match, seul devant le gardien sud-américain. La défense se montrait, elle, solide avec le retour aux affaires du taulier, Hakim Arezki, 41 ans, qui avait été suspendu deux matchs après son carton rouge lors de la première rencontre face à la Chine . À la pause, la chanson fétiche des Bleus, « Les Champs-Élysées » de Joe Dassin, a été diffusée à la pause, ce qui leur a visiblement porté bonheur.

Trois ans après leur huitième et dernière place à Tokyo, les Bleus sont au sommet. Au pied de la Tour Eiffel, poussés par un public en feu, l’équipe de France de cécifoot a décroché, samedi 7 septembre, la première médaille d’or paralympique de son histoire en dominant en finale l’Argentine (1-1, 3 tirs au but à 2). Au bout du suspense, face aux champions du monde en titre, les Français l’ont emporté, sans trembler, grâce à un ultime tir de leur leader Frédéric Villeroux, impressionnant durant tout le tournoi. Après l’argent à Londres en 2012, le cécifoot tricolore remporte sa deuxième médaille mais surtout sauve l’honneur des sports collectifs français qui restaient jusque-là sur un zéro pointé.

Poussés par le public de l’Arena de la Tour Eiffel, bien habitué aux règles du cécifoot – c’est-à-dire silencieux lorsque la balle est en jeu pour que les joueurs déficients visuels puissent entendre les grelots à l’intérieur du cuir et aussi bruyant que possible lorsque le chrono est arrêté – les champions d’Europe 2022 ne partaient pourtant pas favoris face aux vice-champions paralympiques en titre.

L’inévitable Frédéric Villeroux trouve le chemin des filets

Tombeurs (0-0, 4-3 tirs au but) de l’ogre brésilien, vainqueur de toutes les éditions depuis l’apparition du cécifoot au programme paralympique en 2004, les Argentins sont des joueurs professionnels alors que les Bleus sont tous amateurs et ont dû réaliser de grands sacrifices, tant dans leurs vies professionnelles que familiales, pour en arriver là.

Dominés en début de rencontre, les Français résistent grâce à une défense solide et plusieurs arrêts de leur gardien, qui dans ce sport n’est pas atteint par une déficience visuelle. Alors que le match commence à s’équilibrer, les Bleus ouvrent le score par l’inévitable Frédéric Villeroux, qui slalome à travers la défense, balle au pied côté gauche, et vient battre le portier argentin (1-0, 12 e ).

Probablement déconcentrée par la joie de la célébration, l’équipe de France encaisse immédiatement un but sur la première action argentine (1-1). Sur un cafouillage, Maximiliano Espinillo trompe Alessandro Bartolomucci et égalise d’un tir au ras du poteau gauche, bien guidé par l’assistant positionné derrière le but adverse, qui oriente les joueurs à voix haute afin de trouver le chemin des filets.

Tour d’honneur et communion avec le public

Au retour des vestiaires, le match repart sur un rythme beaucoup plus débridé avec des actions offensives de part et d’autre sans qu’une équipe ne parvienne à prendre l’ascendant. Le Girondin Frédéric Villeroux, décrit comme « le meilleur joueur du monde » par le sélectionneur Toussaint Akpweh, mène plusieurs percées balle au pied pour porter le danger dans le camp adverse mais ne réussit pas à trouver la faille. Juste avant la fin du temps réglementaire Tidiane Diakité se blesse et est remplacé par Gaël Rivière. Malgré le soutien du public, les Bleus ne se montrent pas décisifs et l’arbitre envoie les deux équipes aux tirs au but.

Dans une ambiance irrespirable, Alessandro Bartolomucci arrête d’une superbe détente le troisième tir argentin tandis que Frédéric Villeroux inscrit le sien et s’effondre de joie sur le terrain, vite retrouvé par son guide et les joueurs venus le congratuler. Sous les vivats des 11 500 personnes (match à guichets fermés), les Bleus entament un tour de terrain. Ils viennent de faire entrer le cécifoot français dans l’histoire.
