If anyone is wondering, the race face turbine dropper post is great, I bought it a couple of months ago and it works really well when it’s cold. Now I’m looking for some new shoes and clipless pedals, so I’m open for all recommendations 😊

Welcome to the Cyclingnews overarching roundup of bike deals, a page in which we collate all of the best discounts and savings for cyclists. 

The past 12 months has been full of them - for better or worse. Canyon, for example, saw a nice lift in its sales this year, but profits tanked as a result of the discounting. Brands and retailers may have borne the brunt, but buyers like you and me have benefitted from better prices. 

As it does every year, this peaked for Black Friday in November. Retailers went earlier than ever; the first sale we saw was Wiggle, who were no doubt using it to generate some cash flow following their difficult situation and subsequent acquisition by the Frasers group . 

We saw dozens of bikes discounted by half or more, big savings on helmets and shoes and even big brands like Specialized got in on the action. Read on to see what we've unearthed.

Cervelo Aspero AXS Exclusive: $4300 $3,225 at Competitive Cyclist 25% off - The Aspero Apex AXS is a racy gravel bike from Cervelo. There's actually a handful of different Aspero 5 models on offer , with different specs and price points, but this particular model is our pick, at 25% off in a good range of sizes.

Apple AirPods 2nd Gen: $129.99 $99.00 at Amazon Save 23% - The 2nd Gen of the base model AirPods might have a slightly less premium sound quality and come with a slightly shorter feature list compared to the Pro, but if you're after a more affordable option, they're still a great pair. 

Apple AirPods Pro 2: $249.00 $189.00 at Amazon Save 24% - Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds come equipped with USB-C Charging, Up to 2X More Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones, Transparency Mode, Adaptive Audio, and Personalized Spatial Audio. We believe this is the Pro 2's cheapest price so far on Amazon.

GoPro Hero12 Black: $399.99 $349.00 at Amazon 13% off -  The GoPro Hero12 is the latest all-rounder action cam from Garmin, and this deal at Amazon brings it down to the same price as the older Hero 11. It's full of the bells and whistles though, so if you're after a basic action camera, we'd probably opt for the few-gens old Hero9 which is now under $200 . 

Echelon Connect EX5 Smart Connect Bike: $1,2995.98 $974.99 at Echelon 25% off - An impressive discount on the Echelon EX5 for US readers, with the current spring discount offered on Echelon. There are 32 manually adjustable resistance levels, so you can set yourself up to follow Echelon's online classes. Its biggest competitor is the Peloton Bike, which is a touch more expensive. Factor in the yearly Echelon plan to your buying decision though.

If you're looking to kit yourself out this winter, the following deals include everything from caps to socks, summer to winter. 

Giro Aether Spherical helmet: $299.95 $149.98 at Competitive Cyclist 50% off - A highly renowned helmet with MIPS Spherical safety tech used at the highest level. We gave it a full five stars in our Giro Aether MIPS review , so to get it at this price is a great deal. The best price is limited to the Matte Charcoal Mica colourway in sizes S or L. 

Specialized Men's Prime Alpha jacket: $249.99 $149.99 at The Pro's Closet Save 40% - Our tech editor has been using this jacket since the start of the year and it's his go-to cold-weather outer layer. It's not totally waterproof, but the inner Alpha material is cosy and it has a casual fit that looks good on both road and gravel rides. It's so good he actually owns two of them, and continues to wear the one that he put a hole in the elbow on when crashing. 

Chrome Barrage Backpack: $165 $95.99 at Chrome 41% off - Well made, impervious to water, cool looking, and extremely utilitarian. It'll last you for years, and you can fit more or less anything into the cargo net. If I had to use only one backpack from here on in, it would be this one, and it's for those reasons this won the award for best cycling backpack overall. 

Assos EQUIPE RS S9 TARGA Men's Bib Shorts: $270.00 $162.00 at Competitive Cyclist 40% off - T hese uber-premium bib shorts from Assos are very well renowned for their comfort and durability. It's not often they get discounted, so if you're looking to add plush comfort to your ride this year, then you can't go wrong here. Only L,XL and XLG sizes are available now. 

Specialized Torch Road Shoes: $120.00 $59.99 at Specialized 50% off - The Torch 1.0 is Specialized's entry-level road shoe. It borrows trickle-down tech from the multitude of performance road shoes in the brand's range. It represents good value for money at retail price, with a comfortable ride that's stiff enough to get the power down when required, but without causing hotspots. Jenson has them at 25% off in other colours, but this deal at Specialized is by far the best available now. 

Giro Republic R Knit Road Cycling Shoes: $149.95 $74.98 at Competitive Cyclist 50% off - Giro was the first major shoe firm to revert to lace-up shoes and its knit Republic shoes continue the trend. The laces ensure even pressure distribution over the forefoot and the knit fabric offers great ventilation and comfort on hot rides. They're not the cheapest shoes on the market, but they're the ones to go for if you're worried about comfort and are riding indoors or in warmer climates.

Rapha Core long sleeve Jersey: £93 £68 at Sigma Sports 27% off - The core line from Rapha is always popular and the Core Long Sleeve jersey is currently discounted by 27% in the black option from S-XXL. Perfect for spring conditions

Cateye Ampp 500 front light: £39.99 £29.00 at Amazon 25% off -  Cateye has been a go-to brand for decent, well priced lights for years. I've had one myself for close to 8 years now. For a 500-lumen light with a great mounting system that will work with any kind of handlebar it's hard to fault at this price. This isn't the cheapest we have seen this light, it previously had almost 50% off at the time of Black Friday 

Cateye Ampp 400 light set: £39.99 £28.49 at Amazon 37% off -  Having just a front light isn't safe (or legal, at night), so if you need both a front and a rear to get going then this bundle deal is a real winner in our eyes, this set is also rechargeable. 

Pinnacle HC Smart trainer: £700.00 £299.00 at Evans 57% off - Offering 2500 watts of resistance, 20% gradients, and accuracy within 2%, this is a well-specced smart trainer. At its usual retail price it's outshone by the Zwift Hub but thanks to this Evans Cycles deal, it's easily the best-value smart trainer available right now. Again, we have seen the trainer with a larger discount but 57% off is certainly still worth including here.

Garmin Edge 1040 GPS Solar: £630.00 £569.99 at Sigma Sport 10% off -  The Edge 1040 Solar, like the standard Edge 1040, comes with a massive touchscreen, smartphone responsiveness, 70-hour battery life, and the ability to track every metric you're ever likely to need, but it also adds solar panels to the screen, meaning it will charge while you ride. 

Apple AirPods Pro 2: £229.00 £199.00 at Currys Save 13% - Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds come equipped with USB-C Charging, Up to 2X More Active Noise Cancelling, Transparency Mode, Adaptive Audio, and Personalized Spatial Audio. They're far from the cheapest headphones around, but if you're after Apple's latest and greatest, this is the best price we've seen these at, and the first time we've seen them on offer in the UK since their launch. 

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar:   £649.99.99 £520.00 at Amazon 20% Off - Down to its best-ever price, if you're looking to treat yourself to an absolutely feature-packed smartwatch, I don't think you'll find a better watch at this price (or a better price for this watch). This isn't the cheapest we have ever seen this model, but the 20% off still represents a good deal. 

Apple Watch Ultra: £699.00 £589.24 at Amazon The Apple WatchUltra 2 is here now, but the Apple Watch Ultra is still a solid buy and uses a 49mm titanium case and flat sapphire front crystal protecting the biggest display any Apple Watch offers. The extra size and durability bring longer battery life as well with options for 36 hours of normal use or as much as 60 hours in a power-saving mode.

Apple Watch Ultra 2: £799.00 £779.00 at Amazon Save 3% - It's £170 more than the older model. At this price difference and considering the spec differences, I'd personally stick with the older model, but if you want the better chip, on-device Siri, and gesture control feature, then this is the best deal around at the moment.

They tend to increase in line with after-Christmas sales, Boxing Day sales, bank holidays and large events such as the January sales, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, as well as the big ones: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
