Best Bali Tour Packages from Sri Lanka

Bali is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, and with good reason, as this island which is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Surrounded by azure seas and edged with golden beaches, Bali is, of course, a surfer’s paradise, and if you are looking for a beach holiday then there is no better place to find it than this gorgeous island set in the middle of Indonesia.

Bali has a huge number of other attractions to enjoy such as temples, caves, waterfalls, museums, and markets, and if you like history and culture then you can spend hours learning the local legends and Balinese traditions in places like Ubud.

Best Things to Do in Bali (Indonesia)

bali tour packages from sri lanka prices

Tanah Lot Temple - Bali's iconic sea temple

Tanah Lot Temple (Indonesian: Pura Tanah Lot) is probably the most popular and photographed temple on the island which located in coastal side of Beraban countryside, Kediri sub district and Tabanan Regency. Tanah Lot Temple stands for earth (Tanah) and sea (Lot), quite appropriate considering its spectacular setting on top of an impressive rock overlooking the sea.

It’s one of seven ocean temples on the coast of Bali that creates a sort of spiritual bulwark against bad vibes rolling on the ocean currents. This is an extremely popular tourist destination and the whole area is often very busy indeed, especially in the late afternoons, pre-sunset.

Holy Spring Water Temple ( The Pura Tirta Empul )

For over a thousand years, Balinese Hindu worshipers have been drawn to Pura Tirta Empul (Holy Water Temple), whose sacred springs are said to have been created by The God Indra and possess curative properties. This tradition still continues almost unchanged, and today, aside from worshipers, tourists from all over the world also come to this place to marvel at its beauty and bathe in its refreshing blessed water.

The Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple is located in the village of Manukaya, near the town of Tampaksiring, not far from Ubud, in the Gianyar Regency, the cultural heart of Bali. The temple is situated just below the Presidential Palace of Tampaksiring. Built-in 1957 by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno, the beautifully built palace itself is an important landmark of the island and the country. Together with the Presidential Palace, the Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple provide some of the most fascinating views you will ever see.

Ubud Royal Palace Bali

Puri Saren Agung is the palace of the Ubud royal family, making it one of the most prominent landmarks in Ubud. It serves as a cultural repository of arts, dance and literature. The palace’s stage and meeting halls host international events, including the opening ceremonies of the annual Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.

Featuring well-preserved Balinese architecture and a charming garden setting, the palace was built during the lordship of Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800–1823). The front section of the palace is open to the public, where there are walkthroughs for viewing and photos during the day.

The Ubud Royal Palace is best known among lovers of Balinese arts as one of the main sites to view traditional dance performances. The performance stage has a backdrop of ornate angkul-angkul (traditional gate and guardian statues). Every evening, it hosts performances with gamelan percussive orchestras. Tickets to these performances are usually available in the afternoon.

Tegenungan Waterfall Bali

Tegenungan waterfall is a famous place to visit in Bali, yet it still quite hidden away from the hustle and bustle as it’s located just about 10 kilometres outside Ubud, next to Tegenungan village.

Tegenungan Waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls in Bali so the pathway is well maintained and very safe to explore. It’s just a short walk down the concrete steps and the safety rail leads you all the way to the pit of the falls.

On the way down you’ll pass a few typical Bali photo spots, as well as Baby Tegenungan Waterfall, which doesn’t have much on its big brother. Tegenungan Waterfall can be pretty dangerous following storms or even just on a windy day.

There are two platforms to view Tegenungan Waterfall from, both connected by a bamboo bridge. Tegenungan is a great day out for families or friends with funny signs to hold up and create photos with and even a swing that’s been created for the perfect Bali Instagram photo.

Nusa Dua Beach Holiday

Nusa Dua means ‘Two Islands’ in Indonesian which is something of a misnomer as if you come here you will find two non-descript headlands, each topped with a temple. Nusa Dua is widely known as the ‘upscale’ district of Bali and many of the high-end resorts are located here. There is actually a dedicated tourist area in Nusa Dua which is gated and studded with guard posts and once inside you will find beautifully manicured lawns and not a leaf out of place. In short, it is a world away from much of the rest of Bali.

Most visitors come to Nusa Dua if they are looking for a relaxing beach holiday and you can spend your days swimming, enjoying the vistas across the water, and having dinner on the pretty beaches here. There are a lot of cultural activities in Nusa Dua to enjoy in addition to the sea and sand.

Things to do in Nusa Dua

  • Sunbathe on Pantai Geger
  • Go for a camel ride
  • Walk to Pura Gegar
  • Visit Pasifika Museum in Nusa Dua

November to March marks the rainy season that does bring in mosquitoes! But if you don’t mind a little rain, you can find the jungles and the paddy fields in full bloom. Bali Tourist Places

Bali tourism offers a wide range of places for all kinds of travel enthusiasts. Here are some of the most prominent Bali tourist places that you must check out:

Pura Tanah Lot Temple

At sunrise, many visitors trek the 1,700-metre summit of Mt. Batur to watch the sunrise above the mist-shrouded mountains. The hike can take two to three hours and stands along a well-marked trail. Guided tours are also available with an omelette breakfast, cooked from the volcanic steam. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended along with two layers before sunrise to beat the cold. How Much Does a Bali Trip Cost? (Prices for 2024/2025)

When considering a Bali trip, you may want to know how much it would cost. Is it expensive?

Here is a breakdown of how much it costs for flights, hotels, transportation, sightseeing, food, and activities.

Is Bali Expensive?

  • Typical Costs for 1 Day, 1 Week, and 1 Month
  • Cost of International Flights to Bali
  • Cost of Eating and Drinking
  • The Cost of Transportation
  • Cost of Attractions/Activities
  • Tips for Saving Money

Bali is not an expensive destination compared to other vacation spots in Southeast Asia .

  • A private customized tour of the main attractions/activities in the south costs around US$120/person/day (2–4 people)*
  • A private volcano and hot spring tour or a rainforest discovery tour costs around US$200/person/day (2–4 people)*

* Private guide, car, and driver, attraction tickets, activities, and lunch included

It is a cost-effective island for a tour partly because most of the best beaches, surfing beaches, scenic terraced rice fields, and sightseeing landmarks are in the central and eastern parts of the island within about an hour from the airport and main hotel locations by private vehicle at times of low traffic, so transportation costs and trip lengths are kept low.

Some of the best snorkeling/diving areas are also within this 1-hour driving radius . Some others of the best beaches, diving areas, terraced fields and waterfalls/sightseeing/hiking areas are in the northern and eastern parts of Bali within an hour and half to two hours travel time from the airport.

Moreover, Bali can suit all kinds of budgets, from economical to luxury . However, Bali is an expat enclave and has heavy tourism. So, this drives the prices up, but in the off season (November to March except during the major holidays), you can get better prices.

With Asia Highlights , you enjoy 100% refund of any payments made to China Highlights prior to 3 weeks before departure ( detail⇒ ).

Get to know more details about  the cheapest time to visit Bali >>>

Typical Costs for 1 Week in Bali

Prices are going up, but Bali remains very good value compared to Western countries.

  • For a comfortable private tour (2–4 people) : About 160–220 USD per day per person is typical with private guide, 4- or 5-star hotels, nice meals, and private transfers included. For this standard of vacation in the US, the average price is 500+ USD.

The typical cost for a person for a week in Bali is from 1,000 USD.

For more on planning a week's holiday, see How to Plan a Trip to Bali .

Comparison with Thailand

Similar to Bali, Thailand is also affordable for all budget levels. 2–3 plane journeys are generally needed for a classic Thailand tour from north to south (Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket or Koh Samui), which makes traveling in Thailand slightly costlier than in Bali by 20–30 USD per person per day. A 10-Day Private Classic Thailand Tour costs around 2,000 USD per person.

Check the sample itineraries of Bali for 10 days .

The Cost of International Flights to Bali

The only international airport in Bali is Denpasar International Airport (DPS). The cheapest months to visit are October to March (rainy season). Airline prices from the middle of December to early January are high for the Christmas and New Year season. The most expensive months are from April to September, especially the Easter vacation period and summer holiday season (June to August).

Airline Ticket Prices from Major Cities to Bali (round trip):

  • New York , United States: From 1,500 USD . Flying to Bali from New York requires at least one stopover.
  • Sydney , Australia: From 800 USD. Flying out of Sydney can be non-stop.
  • London , England: From 900 USD. Flying out of London requires at least one stop.

For more on seasonal differences in Bali travel, see Best (and Worst) Times to Visit Bali .

Cost of Accommodations in Bali

Here are the approximate costs for a standard 2-person room in Bali for 2024. This is for reference only (prices fluctuate quickly due to various uncertainties related to changes in the epidemic situation):

* Low season : November to March except for around Christmas and New Year

* High season : April to September, Christmas and New Year season

During the busy months/weeks, we recommend you plan and book your accommodations well in advance.

Hotels are included in our itineraries and we can generally secure favorable prices. We recommend suitable hotels based on your budget, preferred location, room specification (e.g. no-smoking), and other requirements. Feel free to contact us .

The Cost of Eating and Drinking in Bali

  • Budget : A meal in a cheap local-style restaurant can be as low as 25,000 IDR (1.70 USD or 1.70 EUR).
  • Mid-range : A mid-range restaurant meal for two people with three courses costs about 21 USD or 21 EUR.

For our recommendations for food to try in Bali, tips on staying healthy, and some phrases to use in restaurants, see The 10 Best Bali Foods and Dishes You Absolutely Have to Try .

The Cost of Transportation in Bali

  • Taxi: The price of a taxi in Bali depends on several factors. The taxi starting price is about 0.47 USD (7,000 IDR). For each additional 1 km you have to pay about 0.50 USD (7,500 IDR).

Traveling around Bali is usually by taxi or private transfer. It generally takes no more than 2 hours of driving from Ubud in central Bali to the most southerly beaches.

Public buses and scoooter/bike hire are obviously a lot less efficient, convenient, and comfortable. While you could save most of your transport costs, it would mean less time at the attractions and hence less value-for-money on your tour time, so we don't recommend them generally.

The Cost of Attractions/Activities in Bali

Beaches : Public beaches are free, but you may need to pay to enter a private beach. See Best Beaches in Bali: How to Choose the Right One for Your Trip .

Rice terraces : The less popular rice terraces are generally free to visit. The most popular ones such as Jatiluwih and Tegallalang have entrance fees of about 4 or 5 dollars for tourists. The ticket sales help locls to cultivate the land and build concrete paths for better access to the rice fields. See The Top Bali Rice Terraces: Which to Visit .

Tips for Saving Money in Bali

  • Traveling during shoulder/low season (November to March helps to reduce airfare and touring costs substantially.
  • Use bicycle/scooter hire. Take the public buses. Share taxi rides with others.
  • The biggest tourist areas around Denpasar, on the southern and southeastern coasts, and around Ubud are the most expensive touring areas. For lower prices, you can go to the north coast, and the least expensive and least touristy area is western Bali.
  • Eat at small, local, inexpensive restaurants called warungs for authentic and cheap Balinese food.
  • Shop at fresh food markets for fruits and vegetables instead of supermarkets.

These mainly depicted wayang, a traditional form of puppet theatre which originated from the island of Java in Indonesia and were seen quite frequently until the western artists began to gain popularity during the 20th century. Some of these paintings also resemble comic strips, displaying scenes from epics and texts from ancient India, such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Balinese Woodcarvings

The sculptors of Bali have definitely created a separate niche for themselves through the 3D masterpieces they create using wood. For the ones who wish to find such pieces in their most glorious form, you can head to the district of Tegallalang in the Gianyar Regency of Bali, as this is where you will discover plenty of woodcarvers who are known for their creations of woodcarvings that are primarily intricate, unique, and Balinese renditions of Garuda, a mythical bird who is known to be the vahana or mount of Lord Vishnu. Some of the other wood-based creations to shop for in Bali include designs of fruits and animals along with Balinese masks.

Silver And Gold Jewellery

Located between Batubulan and Ubud are the villages of Celuk and Mas where you will find plenty of unique pieces of jewellery in gold and silver.

Tourists can explore various showrooms and workshops in these areas, such as Prapen Jewellery & Artifacts that allow people to get a deeper insight into the long process of creating a pendant made of silver or gold. There are also workshops that teach people how to make their own piece of jewellery, such as a bracelet or a ring.

Balinese Coffee

Available in packages, Balinese coffee is a very popular souvenir among tourists, sold in the form of ground coffee or whole bean coffee. You can also get them as hard candies from a brand known as Kopiko.

The different types of Arabica and Robusta coffee beans sold in Bali come from an eclectic variety of islands in Indonesia, including Mangkuraja, Java, Gayo, Kalosi, Mandailing, and Kintamani.

The creativity of ceramic products in Bali is something you will get to see at various stores, such as the Jenggala Keramik store in the Kuta Selatan area. These organic and fluid ceramics have designs that are inspired by tropical plants and flowers, leading to the creation of plates, vases, bowls, and other tableware products of the highest quality.

Things To Remember When Shopping In Bali

  • Remember to carry cash in the local currency with yourself as not all the stores in Bali accept credit or debit cards.
  • In order to walk around comfortably in the tropical weather of Bali while you’re shopping, make sure to wear loose and comfortable clothes and preferably something made of cotton.
  • If you end up buying things that need to be shipped to your home, then remember to keep the taxes and other charges in mind before making the purchase. Even with the presence of reputed shipping services, it can be quite a hassle to get the products shipped to wherever you live.
  • Although bargaining is a common occurrence in many markets in Bali, it is not appreciated at fancy shopping boutiques and malls. Therefore, negotiate accordingly. Make sure to do your research to find out how much the items you want to buy actually cost so that you don’t let the sellers get you to pay much more than the normal price.
  • Before paying for an item, recheck its quality. Some vendors might try to sell you something defective. Hence, a quality check is imperative.

Since the island of Bali consists mainly of Balinese Hindus, the most prominent religion on the island is Hinduism. The next most prevalent religion is Islam, which is then followed by Christianity. Balinese Hinduism includes interpretations of Javanese, Indian, and Chinese beliefs. The people of Bali have a belief that the region is blessed by the God Sang Hyang Widhi.

Three genres of Balinese dances were recognized by UNESCO in 2015, namely Wali which are sacred dances, Bebali which are semi-sacred dances, and Balih-Bailhan which are entertainment dances. Sacred dances are commonly performed to entertain and welcome the Gods during religious functions. It is often believed that the dancers who participate in Wali get possessed by holy spirits. Semi-sacred dances are performed both for entertainment purposes as well as during rituals. Such cultural dances are accompanied by storylines, symbolism, and characters. The Balih-Bailhan dances are ones you will get to commonly see as a tourist in Bali as they are organized several times a week. The culture and traditions of Bali are displayed gloriously through these entertainment dances.

Bali’s traditional music is known as gamelan, which is the traditional ensemble music of the Balinese, Sundanese, and Javenese people of Indonesia. Gamelan is derived from ‘gamel’, a Javanese word which means a mallet that is used to strike musical instruments. Although percussive instruments are the main part of gamelan, there are other instruments involved as well, such as gongs, bamboo flutes, xylophones, metallophones, and drums that are known as kendang.

The tradition of theatre in Bali originates from the deeply rooted musical influences prevalent on the island. These are usually called dance-dramas, and some of the types of theatre that often showcase an intersection between dance and drama include topeng, gambuh, and barong. Several of the social gatherings in Bali showcase drama performances as they are an integral part of the island’s culture, which is why they are often a recurring ingredient in Bali’s weddings, birthdays, and several social gatherings.

The art visible in Bali has Hindu-Javanese roots. The highly developed art pieces inject artistic expression into objects that are used on a daily basis. The village of Kamasan situated in east Bali was the center of art between the 16th to the 20th century. A couple of prevalent art forms in Bali include Balinese paintings, wood carvings, and stone carvings.

When we visit a new place, what’s one of the first things we like to try out? The food of the place we’re visiting, of course. If this is your very first trip to Bali, then you’re in for an absolute treat, because the food of Bali is as diverse as its culture, containing a wide array of spices, such as turmeric, cloves, and cumin. Turmeric is, in fact, quite commonly present in much of Bali’s food as the people of Bali consider turmeric to be very beneficial, which is something you will experience firsthand through our Bali tour packages.

Much of Bali’s food is influenced by Indian and Chinese cuisine, which is why you will find a delightful combination of the two cultures in Balinese cuisine. Let’s walk you through some of the food items you must try during your trip to Bali.

Nasi Campur

Nasi campur is a staple dish in Bali, with ‘campur’ being a loose translation of ‘a mix of everything’. It mainly consists of steamed rice along with a variety of side dishes in small portions, such as satay, shredded chicken, grilled meat, sambal, bean sprouts, tempe, and tofu.

The dish is almost like a Balinese tasting platter, with every chef having their own style of making it and each restaurant serving it in a different manner. Although nasi campur is found in numerous parts of Indonesia, the element which makes the Balinese version is the presence of the spices that are commonly found in Balinese cuisine.

Babi Guling

Babi guling, which is also known as roast suckling pig, is among the most famous foods of Bali. It’s not common to find this dish outside Bali, mainly because pork isn’t available in most parts of Indonesia as it’s still considered as taboo among Indonesians and is forbidden in Islam.

The dish is normally a part of celebrations and was once served primarily at special occasions or religious gatherings. However, as tourism kept growing in Bali, the dish was eventually included at various restaurants to be consumed by the tourists. The pig is first marinated using several spices, after which it is slow-roasted over an open fire.

Satay or sate is a beloved street food in both Bali and all of Indonesia. These are skewers of grilled meat that are available in numerous varieties, such as chicken, beef, mutton, goat, and pork. There are also satay versions available of eggs, tofu, fish, and minced blends.

Sate lilit is a very common type of satay tourists will find in Bali. It can be made using minced beef, pork, fish, chicken, and sometimes even turtle meat. The meat is combined with coconut milk, coconut, and a variety of spices and vegetables. The concoction is then wrapped around a stick made of bamboo, lemongrass, or sugarcane and then grilled well over charcoal.

Nasi ayam, which also goes by the name of chicken rice, is a dish that is quite synonymous with Balinese cuisine. It consists of a bowl of steamed rice along with satay, boiled egg, shredded chicken, French bean salad, sambal, and roasted peanuts. The mixture of all the flavors feels like a delightful explosion within the mouth of the one who consumes it.

The satay that is included is usually made of fish and is marinated along with the chicken and then grilled well. While the chicken is served shredded, the fish satay is served on a stick.

If you’re a vegetarian looking for a delicious food option in Bali, then gado gado is one to go for, which is regarded as Indonesia’s super-salad. Although there are vegetarian alternatives to be found for most dishes in Bali, this is one that most people love. The salad is made up of a base that consists of bean sprouts, corn, potato, spinach, boiled long beans, and sometimes egg as well.

Although it’s a cold salad, the warm version of it is often consumed as well. The salad is topped with a peanut sauce, with the dressing being sweet, spicy, and salty.

Nasi Goreng

Nasi goreng, also known as Indonesian/Bali fried rice, is an all-time favorite both among locals and tourists. Multiple spices are mixed to create a thick paste, which is then added to boiled rice and the mixture is cooked over a slow flame.

The dish consists of an eclectic variety of vegetables and meats, including chicken, beef, eggs, shrimp, lamb, anchovies, crab, onions, green peas, and shallots. Nasi goreng usually comes with toppings, such as fried shallots, sliced cucumbers or tomatoes, shrimp or fish crackers, and mixed pickles. Until the dish is completely cooked, the chef keeps adding butter to the pile of fried rice to add to the taste and richness of it all.

If you like having coconut in your food, then lawar is something you must try during your vacation in Bali. Grated coconut is what it is primarily made from, after which bits of chicken skin and minced jackfruit are added to the mix, along with coconut milk and chilies.

While the chicken skin adds to the chewy texture of the dish, the sweetness of it is brought out owing to the coconut milk and jackfruit. The ingredients that go into lawar are usually mixed by hand, and tradition asks for it to be served on a banana leaf.

Sambal Matah

Sambal matah is an Indonesian salsa or dressing which is a common part of Balinese cuisine. Although every chef makes it differently, the traditional form of sambal matah includes garlic, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, and chili peppers. It often also contains coconut oil, shallots, and shrimp paste. Numerous dishes in Bali make use of sambal matah as a marinade or base.

Ayam Betutu

Ayam is the Malay word for chicken, and ayam betutu refers to a dish where a chicken is slow-cooked, making it a go-to dish for the ones who don’t prefer pork. For this dish, a whole chicken is stuffed and seasoned by making use of a unique Balinese spice paste.

The chicken is then wrapped in banana leaves and banana tree bark, after which it is baked for anywhere between six to seven hours. At times the chicken is cooked in the coal fire. The aroma of this concoction is so strong that you are bound to remember it for ages to come.

Durian is often given the title of ‘the king of fruits’ and is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia. It’s very popular in Indonesia and is consumed quite frequently. The outer appearance of the fruit is greenish yellow in color, with spikes on its body and an oval shape.

The smell of the fruit is quite overpowering, and durian is known to make an appearance in various dishes as well as milkshakes found in Bali. Some people also eat it raw.

Best of Sri Lanka Tour

Best of Sri Lanka

The tour led by Prageeth an independent tour leader contracted by Intrepid Travel , the supplier was phenomenal (above excellent). However my experiences with the wholesaler/booking agency Tourradar was dismal. Once I paid and signed up they were almost non-communicative. I had critical questions about tour information that I submitted to there private network and both times it took over 7 days to get an incomplete response. Since I was a few days from departure, I tried there messenger service on the website and had to wait for 7-10 minutes for each response to a query. I spent over 45 mintues on the messenger to finally get the starting hotel since they would not let me talk directly with Intrepid and to top it off they told me an old inactive hotel. I only lucked out because I happened to book at another hotel which was to my good luck the starting hotel. I never received a tour document from tourradar and they still were claiming my starting hotel was Rani Beach Hotel, which Intrepid has not used for more than 1 year) instead of Ruvisha Beach Hotel which I booked by serendipity. Its hard enough with covid and Sri Lanka going into demonstrations without your tour operator giving you little, no information and incorrect information. I did Cuba with tourradar 3 years ago and it was great -- but with this experience I can no longer recommend them. Top management at tourradar needs to look at this and change their tight close to vest information policy. Your website claims the tour package is delivered about 2 weeks before the trip, why didn't I ever get a package? Why can't you hire enough live operators to respond in a reasonable time (7 minutes is an eternity to wait on an instant messenger that doesn't even tell you what is happening)? Covid while damaging is no excuse.

Lifetime Experience In Sri Lanka Tour

Lifetime Experience In Sri Lanka

My husband and I recently embarked on the Lifetime Experience in Sri Lanka tour and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Every activity listed on the itinerary surpassed our expectations, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the beauty of Sri Lanka. We loved the local cuisine and all of our hotels were so clean and comfortable. What truly made our experience exceptional was our guide, Buddhika. His expertise and knowledge about the country added immense value to our journey. From historical insights to local anecdotes, he enriched every moment of our trip. Moreover, Buddhika's friendly demeanor and genuine passion for showcasing the best of Sri Lanka made our stay even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to fulfill all of our requests that were outside of our tour itinerary. From exploring ancient ruins to indulging in the flavors of local cuisine, every day brought new adventures and unforgettable memories. We couldn't have asked for a better itinerary or a more fantastic guide. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an enriching and memorable experience in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Uncovered Tour

Sri Lanka Uncovered

I had an amazing experience on the Sri Lanka tour with V! It well over exceeded expectations! Each attraction we attended, V was filled with so much knowledge and fun facts to inform us with and he was such a friendly and fun tour guide. I have done a trutravels tour before and this tour has by far been the most fulfilling because of our amazing tour guide. We did additional activities outside of the itinerary which V went above and beyond to find and provide for us and thanks to him I was able to tick off some huge bucket list activities such as meeting and feeding my first ever elephant, and being able to watch little baby elephants getting fed and their rehabilitation centre! There were countless experiences V arranged for us all outside of the itinerary that enhanced our already amazing trip! I am so grateful for the experience and the many laughs and memories created on this once in a life time experience! I am gutted to be leaving but beyond overwhelmed with happiness with everything I got to see and do on this tour! Thank you V so so much for everything! Highly recommend the Sri Lanka uncovered tour!

My wife and I planned our tour to Sri Lanka with ASY Tours. We had an absolutely wonderful time exploring a number of cities, cultural sites and natural preserves around the country. We got to know about ASY Tours from our dear colleagues. To be honest, they were very genuine, knowledgeable and extremely helpful in tailoring the trips as per our needs and requirements. From booking to departure, ASY Tours' team was in contact with us and our tour guide Mr Chanaka was amazing and a very safe driver. We really enjoyed our tour in a relaxing, stressfree manner with ASY Tours.

Splendour of Sri Lanka - ( 8 Days and 7 Nights tour in Sri Lanka ) Tour

Splendour of Sri Lanka - ( 8 Days and 7 Nights tour in Sri Lanka )

The best trip I’ve ever been on! The 8 days were filled with amazing sites and experiences. The highlights of the trip for me were the elephant safari, lion rock, botanical gardens, Ella train and the snake farm (was hard to narrow down). I feel like we saw and learnt so much about Sri Lanka and I’d love to do it all again. Our tour guide was Nishantha. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all the nature and history of Sri Lanka. He was also a really lovely and friendly person. We felt he went out of his way to make sure everything we wanted from the trip happened. I would highly recommend him to anybody wanting to do this trip. 5 stars all round from me and my partner. If you book this holiday have a lovely time.

Splendour Of Sri Lanka (7 Days) Free Upgrade to Private Tour Available

So it's only fair I start this review by praising how amazing our driver and tour guide Nishantha (Nish) Was. he made us feel so comfortable throughout our entire tour, he was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and really went out of his way to make sure we were happy with what we had done each day. He was always on time and we felt very safe with his driving as you may or may not know drivers and tuk tuks in Sri Lanka are pretty crazy and Nish was very relaxed and in total control. He also took us to places that weren't on the schedule which he called Nish's highlights and he seemed to know everyone lol and everyone seemed to really like him which made us feel entirely safe. On our last day for drop off at our hotel that we had booked not through the tour company and the hotel was to say the least not very welcoming and dirty so Nish drove us to a new hotel which we knew with no quibble and sorted out on our behalf with the hotel for none payment. We feel we've made a friend in Nish and will definitely us him again whenever we return to Sri Lanka. So onto the hotels, each hotel was clean and the food was good no upset stomachs which was good, we opted for the moderate hotels package and we booked quite late so some of the original hotels that were quoted were full but beauty Lanka travels found some very nice alternatives The only issue we probably would say was that the hotels were very quiet with no evening entertainment but to be honest we were quite tired each night so we would chill in our room after dinner. In fact one hotel we stayed at we were the only 2 people in the whole hotel staying there but the whole staff made us feel very special and the food was amazing. So now On to the tour itinerary and company itself to be honest I can't fault beauty Lanka travels for what they provided the attractions where varied and well spread out, each day was definitely full and you can adjust anything you want or don't want to do Me and my wife really wanted to see and do the ambuluwawa tower (which we highly recommend) so Nish just cut out another part of the tour to accommodate so we could To make you aware the tour is quite tiring as it's quite early starts and late finishes And you are checking in and out of hotels every day so you dont really get to use the hotel facilities much. If we was to do another tour we would prob have it so we have break days especially at Ella ( which is lovely) and the last stop at the beach resort But overall very good company to deal with and they provided everything that was offered. We were in Srilanka for 14 days trip and booked online before our trip with ASY tours. They planned our tour very well including great places in Srilanka. What people love about Sri Lanka Tours

Sameera was a brilliant tour guide and was very knowledgeable about all the different places we visited in Sri Lanka. I thought the tour was also very well organized and with lots of activities and a good balance of free time as well. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone else and I had an amazing time!
Fantastic. Great group, lead was awesome and inclusive and knowledgeable. Different things happened every day. Very well organised. Highly recommend.
The tour was perfect for my needs. Day in Kandy a bit of a muddle and wash out. Hotel to far out of town and no choice for food but the hotel and whilst ok not great. Prefer to Sri Lankan food. Amba estate amazing. Hotel J in Negombo and Unawatuna little more than a hostel Didn’t like at all. Same group as Jetwing and they are nice hotels. Guide very knowledgable and friendly. Not great value for money would have been better without using hotel j

Best Time to Visit Bali

Before diving into the details of Bali tour packages, it's essential to understand the best time to visit Bali. Bali has a tropical climate, characterized by two distinct seasons - the wet season and the dry season. The wet season, from November to March, brings occasional showers and lush green landscapes. On the other hand, the dry season, from April to October, offers clear skies and warm temperatures on your Bali tour.

For beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts, the best time to visit for a Bali tour is from May to September when the weather is dry, and the seas are calm. If you prefer to avoid crowds and enjoy lower prices, consider visiting in the shoulder seasons of October or January, and February. Hikers and nature enthusiasts should plan their Bali packages between April and October when the weather is conducive for outdoor activities.

“ In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

Foods to Eat in Bali

Alongside browsing through available Bali packages, make sure to also look into the exciting regional cuisine. One of the best experiences about visiting exotic places like Bali is the experience related to trying the local cuisines there. The amazing flavour made from blending local spices used through generations is all the reason to try local dishes in Balinese cafes and restaurants, leaving behind (at least for a while) the conventional food we all are so used to eating!

Here’s what you must try dishesh in Bali:

  • Fried/Smoked Duck
  • Local Ice cream
  • Barbeque Food
  • Jimbaran Seafood
  • Balinese Kopi

Fried/Smoked Duck:

Most menu cards will have Bebek Goreng (Fried Duck) or BebekBetutu (Smoked Duck) as their specialties. If you spot them, well, we are telling you, you must try them! Fried Duck is the conventional seasoned, boiled or steamed deep fried duck. Smoked Duck, on the other hand, is smoked for over 24 hours after being seasoned with local spices. Both are traditional Balinese dishes served with rice, vegetables and dips.

Local Ice cream:

If you thought Bali was just about beaches and swimming and temples, you thought wrong. Bali is also about food- particularly about ice cream! Get ready to spot several small gelatos or cafes that produce their very own, very Balinese ice cream. Once there, make sure you try their local flavours like the red dragon fruit, lemongrass or lychee! There’ll be no regrets, we assure you. Enjoy your dream vacation in Bali with your spouse by opting for the honeymoon special Bali trip packages on our website.

Barbeque Food:

Do you remember reading novels or watching movies where a group of friends just sit at the beach, around the fire and munch of barbequed snacks? Well, this can now very well be a scene out of your life, for the smell of charcoal-grilled meat is so tempting- something we must not ignore and indulge in! What makes Balinese barbeque food stand out from others is its seamless blend of sweet, savoury and slightly smoky taste with the perfect balance of meat and spices. So, make sure to try the Balinese barbecue food during your Bali tour.

Jimbaran Seafood:

This category of food is available at all the shacks along the Jimbaran beach. Cafes and shacks that specialize in Jimbaran seafood let their customers pick the sea food either from the a la carte menu or offer pre-set meals for more than two people.

Balinese Kopi:

What is even a vacation without some relaxing coffee? The Balinese Kopi, or coffee, is famous and for all the right reasons- it blends coffee grown in fertile volcanic lands. The stalls on main roads, or on beaches offer varieties of coffees- hot and cold. Let us handle the aspect of meals alongside accommodations, sightseeing, flights, etc., while you enjoy your dream vacation by going with Bali travel packages offered by Thomas Cook.

Things to Do in Bali

Bali, often referred to as the "Island of the Gods," is a mesmerizing destination known for its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and diverse range of activities. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural immersion, Bali has something for everyone. Here's a list of things to do in Bali to make the most of your visit:

  • White Water Rafting in Ayung River
  • Surfing in Padang Padang and Kuta
  • Join a Balinese cooking class
  • Sunrise Trek to Mount Batur
  • Bathe in the Pura TirtaEmpul Temple
  • Museum hopping
  • Watch and enjoy a traditional dance
  • Explore the Artisans Village

White Water Rafting in Ayung River:

The Ayung River near Ubud is Bali’s longest and largest rapids. Just thinking about rafting in Ayung River is giving us the thrills! To add a big and red cherry on the cake, let us also tell you that the Ayung River is set in a beautiful backdrop of wild, unspoiled jungle, scenic rice fields and towering gorges. What you must expect from White Water Rafting in Ayung River is refreshing waterfalls, swirling foamy water, sudden drops and lots and lots of adrenaline rush! For the best adventure experience, opt for Bali packages that include these activities as standard attributes.

Surfing in Padang Padang and Kuta:

Can we really talk about beaches without talking about surfing? What an injustice it would be! Padang Padang Beach, in Bukit Peninsula (north-west coast) is one of the most famous surf spots of Bali and is visited by surfers from around the world. What’s more, Padang Padang is also host to international surfing events like Rip Curl Cup Padang.

For beginners, however, heading to the Kuta beach will be a safer and more enjoyable surfing experience. This beach has several surfing schools, too.

Join a Balinese cooking class:

Yes, this is as unusual for us as it would seem to you! But, believe it or not, as part of a Bali Tour Package, you can join a home cooking class where you will be taught by locals the secret of authentic Balinese cooking. These cooking classes are coupled with market tours to find fresh vegetables, aromatic spices and other ingredients.

Sunrise Trek to Mount Batur:

The sunrise view from Mount Batur is one of the most exquisite views in the entire region of Bali. An early morning trek up Mount Batur is famous just for the views. Since Mount Batur is one of the active volcanoes in Bali, your visit needs to be accompanied by a certified local guide. Bali tours are incomplete without going for this mesmerising trek, so make sure to go for this experience.

Bathe in the Pura TirtaEmpul Temple:

A national heritage site, the TirtaEmpul Temple in Manukaya Village is a temple dating back to 960 AD. This legendary temple has a sacred water spring which is said to have healing properties. The Pura TirtaEmpul Temple is frequented by tourists from across the world who come to take a bath in the blessed water. Get to enjoy similar delightful experiences by opting for Bali travel packages from our website.

Museum hopping:

Bali is not entirely about beaches. It is also about cultural sights like museums and galleries. The Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) is the place to go to explore the creative arts of Bali- it features Balinese architecture. Its creativity is heightened by its location- it is set amidst tropical gardens. The museum also hosts gamelan orchestras, woodcarvings, dance performances, history and indigenous fabrics. Museum visits are often included as a part of popular Bali packages.

Watch and enjoy a traditional dance:

One of the things to do in Bali is watch performances of Balinese dance forms such as Legong, Topeng, Kecak and Barong. These performances happen in multiple venues, one of which is the Ubud Palace where Balinese girls, dressed in traditional attire, dance to recite Hindu epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Explore the Artisans Village:

It is often said that the best way to explore a region is to explore its culture through its people. We agree with this, completely. And, what better way to explore a place’s culture than through its artists? Bali offers you trips and visits to its artisans’ villages where you can interact with and learn from the artisan’s crafts of great varieties. Celuk village is known for its silversmiths- here, you can not only shop for high-quality silver jewellery, but can also learn how to craft them. Batuan village in Ubud is another artisan village. This one is famous for traditional Balinese paintings. Here, you can get hands-on lessons on traditional Balinese art, wood carving and dancing.

Step out of your geographical boundaries and into this diverse land of relaxation, exploration and fun! Book your trip to Bali with offer through Thomas Cook India now, and give us the chance to make this vacation the vacation of your dreams!

Popularly known as the “Land of Thousand Temples”, it is no wonder that this island is home to some of the most important and well-known religious shrines in the country. Here are some of the most popular temples that you can include in your Bali tour itinerary;

Uluwatu Temple

The Uluwatu temple is one of the best places to visit in Bali for religious tours. Nestled on top of a cliff, roughly 70 metres above sea level, this temple welcomes thousands of devotees and tourists on their Bali tours and travels. Locally known as “Pura Luhur Uluwatu”, the shrine is dedicated to the deity Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa as Rudra. Besides its religious significance and alluring surrounding beauty, one of the main highlights of this temple is the Kecak Dance Performance, which is based on the Ramayana and takes place every day between 6-7 P.M. on an adjacent cliff-top stage. You can easily find Bali tour packages that include a visit to this temple.

Pura Bratan Temple

Pura Bratan, or the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, is one of the most beautiful tourist places you can check out during your Bali tour. Located on the west of Lake Bratan in Bedugul, the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan is affiliated with Hinduism and features three shrines dedicated to Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva. The Pagoda-style temple architecture, a “floating” appearance due to the surrounding lake and the backdrop of the Bedugul mountains make this site one of the most beautiful religious landmarks in Bali. It is one of the most-visited tourist landmarks in the region, commonly found in popular Bali tour packages.

Located approximately 5 kilometres from the centre of Ubud, Goa Gajah is one of the most popular cultural and spiritual places to visit in Bali. Also called the “Elephant Cave”, Goa Gajah is a temple cave that features several intricate carvings and relics belonging to Buddhism and Shaivism. The temple complex is home to several attractions, such as the detailed cave entrance, an ancient pool, intricate stonework and relics, etc., all of which will leave you captivated. It is best to go for Bali tour packages that feature this site as a standard inclusion.

Taman Saraswati Temple

The Pura Taman Saraswati, also known as Ubud Water Palace, is one of the most significant religious landmarks you can visit during your Bali tour. Located at the heart of the Ubud town centre, it is a Balinese Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Saraswati. The Pura Taman Saraswati is known for its exceptional temple architecture. The massive temple complex houses a beautiful lotus pond and water garden, which are two main highlights of the site. Tourists can also check out the Cafe Lotus for some delicious snacks and witness traditional dance performances at this location.

Bali Currency

As this province is a part of Indonesia, the official Bali currency is also the Indonesian Rupiah. It is denoted by the symbol “Rp” and the currency code “IDR”. A single rupiah can be divided into 100 cents (locally called “sen”). In terms of coins, the denominations available are Rp50, Rp100, Rp200, Rp500 and Rp1000. As for banknotes, the denominations available are Rp1,000, Rp2,000, Rp5,000, Rp10,000, Rp20,000, Rp50,000 and Rp100,000. Currently, the value of 1 Indonesian Rupiah is equal to 0.0054 INR. As the Indonesian Rupiah is the only accepted currency in Bali, tourists visiting this Indonesian Province will need to acquire its official currency to make legitimate payments towards their purchases and used services during their stay. You can easily acquire foreign currency for your Bali tour (in both cash and forex travel card forms) by opting for the online foreign exchange services offered by Thomas Cook.
