The Sentry Hill

You’ll hop back on Soualiga Sky Explorer and glide up to the mountain ridge of Sentry Hill. After your orientation at the transfer station, you will put your safety equipment and harness system for your Sentry Hill Zip Line flight over the mountain ridge.

Overall it was a wonderful experience the workers were extremely nice, funny, and very motivating when I was nervous they made me very comfortable and were just amazing people! As we made it up the mountain we got a very interesting tour on the history of the island you could tell they put lots of research into it, the zipline was absolutely amazing, with amazing views and adrenaline rushes! I 10/10 recommended this to anyone who is visiting the island you wont regret it, will definitely be doing it again next visit!

I’d say this experience is a must-try. I wanted a view of the island on my short stop and this was an awesome way to get it! Wicked view of the main bay including Phillipsburg and neighboring islands like St Barts, fun ride to the top of the hill and awesome zip-line back to the bottom. Staff were nice too – I liked the tidbits on the local history of what we were seeing. Total time about 45 mins – 1 hour.

I had an extra hour free while I was in Philipsburg so I went to Dock Maarten to try the new Zip Line. It was AWESOME!! Staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. And they made it a lot of fun – I was a bit nervous to be honest but they put me at ease right away. The exhilaration of flying over the road then having water all around and the cruise ships to my left with the horizon and sunset out in front of me while I flew through the air was really amazing. Can’t wait to do it again with my kids! Great Job Pelican Peak team!!! See you again soon…

Hurricane Irma hit Sint Maarten as a Catagory 5 hurricane on Sept 6th, and completely devastated the island. With exceptional hard work and planning, the Rainforest Adventure team prepared their eco-park attractions, including the ZipRider, for the incoming hurricane. For the most part, the eco-park suffered minor damages compared to the rest of the island. After re-building, the Rockland Estate eco-park, and the Flying Dutchman ZipRider, opened to the public on November 24th, 2017, an amazing feat and comeback. Once your ship has arrived in St. Maarten you will meet directly at the park just a 30-minute ride away, where you will begin your adventure. Your adventure begins in the Museum, discovering the customs, traditions, and lifestyle of plantation life through the eyes of Trace and Emilio Wilson, born into slavery in 1818.

 As you exit the Museum you will embark on the Sky Explorer, a chairlift rising 1,125 feet to the top of Sentry Hill, one of the island's highest peaks. On your first climb, you will stop at the mid-station for the Schooner Ride, sending you down the mountain on an inner tube through a series of curves and straightaways on a safe, specially designed track. After you catch your breath you will hop back on Sky Explorer for your ascent to the transfer station for a short orientation. Here you will put on your harness and safety equipment and revel in your exhilarating flight over the mountain ridge on the Sentry Hill Zipline for 500 meters.

Completing your bottom-to-top adventure you'll glide on Sky Explorer one final time to the peak of Sentry Hill where you enjoy a 360-degree view of the island in addition to the neighboring islands of  Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts, and Anguilla from a series of platforms. After taking advantage of this fantastic photographic venue, you will board Sky Explorer for your descent into the beautiful Emilio Wilson Estate, enjoying this incredibly unique perspective of The Friendly Island.
