Frequently asked questions

Can i use the voyager mastercard at any fuel or retail location.

Accepted on both the Voyager and Mastercard networks, the Voyager Mastercard can be used for approved fleet-related expenses including tolls, parking, repairs, hotel stays and restaurants.

What do I do if the pump doesn't read the chip or the magnetic stripe?

Drivers may either need to go inside the store to complete their transaction or contact Voyager Customer Service at 800-987-6591 for assistance.

How does a chip card work?

The embedded chip stores information required to verify, authorize and process transactions. This is the same type of information that is stored today on the magnetic stripe. Chip cards and chip terminals work together to ensure a highly secure transaction.

What are the benefits of chip card technology?

Chip cards can help reduce certain types of fraud. The primary benefit of a chip card is a dramatic reduction in counterfeit fraud at chip-enabled point-of-sale systems (also known as “card present fraud”). For drivers, the chip card provides enhanced security for in-person (“card present”) transactions when used with chip card-compatible terminals and a stronger verification method that helps protect account information.

Why does my EMV chip card not work at all terminals?

As more gas pumps are being updated to accept EMV chip cards, you may have varying card usage experiences at different fueling locations, even within the same brand. Some will be chip-enabled and others will still rely on magnetic stripes. You should continue to follow pump prompts to begin and complete your fuel purchases.

Overview of steps for setting up purchase orders and check-in records for periodicals in Voyager.

These steps assume that your library already has bibliographic records in Voyager for your periodical titles.

  • Login to the Acquisitions Client with a username/password that has privileges to create and update purchase orders.
  • Click  Orders  on Left side of screen. Choose  New Purchase Order . It is strongly recommended that you create a separate PO for each serial title.
  • An order number is automatically assigned. You can edit this number, for example, if you want to include a locally defined code to indicate it is a subscription PO (i.e. add PS before the number to indicate it is a “print subscription”).
  • Type: Continuation.
  • Site: Should be your happening location for Acquisitions/Serials.
  • Vendor Code: Enter the correct vendor code for the particular order; Click on the ellipses to validate the code. If you are not sure of the vendor code you can also click the magnifying glass icon to search for the vendor code. (Vendors and accounts need to be created prior to setting up POs.)
  • Choose an account if you have multiple accounts with the vendor.
  • You can choose the ship to/bill to addresses if you like, but it isn’t necessary unless you need to print out the purchase order through the Reporter Client.
  • Currency Code: Select appropriate code.
  • Click  SAVE  at top of the purchase order.
  • Click  ADD LINE [BIB SEARCH]  located on bottom left of the purchase order. You may search by any field; searching by ISSN (022a) tends to be the quickest (you must include the dash in ISSN searches). Choose the correct title and click OK, the title will be added to the Purchase Order.
  • Intended Location: choose the correct location in your library.
  • Link to Holdings: Click on the ellipsis and Click  LINK . NOTE: This will link the checked-in serial records to the existing MFHD. If you have multiple MFHDs associated with the bib record, be sure to verify that you are linking to the correct one. If you don’t have an existing MFHD a new one will be created. If you do not want the checked in issues to be on the same MFHD as your existing holdings do NOT link to holdings.
  • Ship to: [Optional, may want if your library receives multiple copies of the same title.]
  • Ledger: Click Folder Icon to browse through ledgers/funds and select the correct one. If your funds have codes you may enter that code directly or search instead of browsing (if you search for your funds be aware that all funds will be retrieved, even those that are expired).
  • Click  Save .
  • Click  Close .
  • Line Item Type: Subscription (should be filled in if you chose Continuation as your PO type).
  • Subscription Length (optional): fill in appropriate number of issues.

  • Choose default item type (if you create item records for each issue, otherwise optional).
  • Choose Claim Period: below are suggestions only. It is important to consider the title when you set up your claim periods (is it a title that can’t be claimed after a certain amount of time has passed, etc). Possible claim periods: Weekly: enter 14 days; Semi- Monthly/Monthly: enter 30 days; Bimonthly/quarterly: enter 60 days; 3x a year/semiannual/annual/biannual: enter 90 days.
  • Click  Predictive Component Pattern  tab.
  • Choose appropriate pattern (Pre-set patterns exist). You may also choose to set up your own prediction pattern using the “New Publication Pattern” or “New Complex Prediction Pattern” option.
  • Click  Start Prediction.  You may want to start the prediction based on the item in hand or for the first anticipated issue received of a particular volume. Either way, enter the enumeration/chronology for the first item you wish to check in.
  • Expected on : box: put in day of month based on when issues usually received, if you have that information (default is 1).
  • First issue expected date : must be same day of month as entered in the above step.
  • Click  OK .
  • To verify the pattern has been correctly predicted by the system you can click in the “ Issue ” box and view the expected issues.
  • Click  Serials Check-In  on left hand part of screen. [Do this step if you want to start your check-in as you are setting up your predictions.]
  • Search for the component you just created, this will show you the expected issue; it should be the one you entered in the “Start Prediction” step above.
  • Click  Accept  in middle of screen. The next screen that opens will have the details for the title/issue you are receiving on it. Click in the box next to the issue you are receiving to highlight it, and click  Receive . The screen will return to Serials Check-In (You will see that the expected issue has changed to next issue with the issue expected date).
  • You can also check in a single issue by clicking quick check in. This method requires fewer “clicks” and may be preferable after a comfort level has been established with the system.
  • Click  History  button to see that the issue is checked in, if desired. From this screen you can also remove issues from OPAC display, collapse issues, and un-receive them as necessary.
  • Click  Clear Workspace .
  • At the bottom of the screen you will see your PO and line item still open, but minimized. Click on them to maximize then click  Save and Close  on Line item.
  • Approve the PO: Order -> Approve. If you don’t approve the PO you will not be able to invoice it later. Click  Save and Close  on PO.

Nasa voyager 1 back to science after glitch in interstellar space.

An illustration shows a Voyager spacecraft in space. The twin Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes ... [+] launched in 1977.

Not bad for a 46-year-old spacecraft. NASA’s Voyager 1 is back in business after a serious glitch in November put a stop to its science work for months. The probe is humanity’s most distant emissary as it explores interstellar space—the space between stars. NASA’s ability to fix the elderly spacecraft over a great distance is a testament to perseverance and ingenuity.

Two of Voyager 1’s instruments are working again and sending back usable science data. “The mission’s science instrument teams are now determining steps to recalibrate the remaining two instruments, which will likely occur in the coming weeks,” said NASA in a statement on May 22. “The achievement marks significant progress toward restoring the spacecraft to normal operations.”

Voyager 1 is in uncharted territory with both its location and its age. The probe is over 15 billion miles away from home. It takes more than 22.5 hours for a message from Earth to reach the probe and another 22.5 hours to receive a response. That means troubleshooting works in slow motion. Voyager 1 and its twin Voyager 2 launched back in 1977, so the team is working with decades-old systems, technology and documentation. Voyager 1 became the first human-made object to leave the solar system in 2012 when it entered interstellar space. Voyager 2 took the same cosmic step in 2018.

Voyager 1’s plasma wave subsystem and magnetometer instrument are sending usable data. The team is still working on fixing the cosmic ray subsystem and low-energy charged particle instrument. This process could take weeks. “Kinda like when your power goes out and you have to go around your whole house resetting all your electronics,” the Voyager 1 team tweeted on X. “That's basically what my team and I are doing now.”

The Best Beers In Canada According To The Canadian Brewing Awards

Iphone 16 pro max key new upgrades leaked in latest report, nyt strands 84 hints spangram and answers for sunday may 26th.

Returning Voyager 1 to science operations has been an incremental process. The probe began sending back garbled data in late November and it took time to track down the source of the glitch . “The team eventually determined the issue stemmed from a small portion of corrupted memory in the flight data subsystem, one of the spacecraft’s three computers,” said NASA. “Among other things, this system is designed to package data from the science instruments as well as engineering data about the health and status of the spacecraft before that information is sent to Earth.”

A gold record ready to be attached to a Voyager space probe, circa 1977. The record, The Sounds Of ... [+] Earth, contains a selection of recordings of life and culture on Earth. (Photo by NASA/Hulton Archive/Getty Images)

With the source located, the team set about reworking Voyager 1’s code. By late April, the probe was once again making sense . Getting two instruments back to science work marks a major milestone in the recovery operation. Every day Voyager 1 continues to function is a small miracle. NASA’s heroic troubleshooting efforts will help scientists better understand interstellar space .

The spacecraft won’t last forever, but NASA hopes to keep at least one instrument working on both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 until around 2025. Even if the science instruments go into retirement, the probes could stay in touch with Earth for many years to come. And there’s always the hope Voyager’s Golden Record —a phonograph record full of messages from Earth—may one day be found by intelligent life from beyond our solar system. In the meantime, Voyager 1 is back to work for as long as it will last.

2024 Indy 500 live updates: Crash-heavy race after weather delay, Kyle Larson misses NASCAR start

voyager online order

The 108th Indianapolis 500 is underway after a four-hour delay due to stormy weather.

There are plenty of storylines surrounding this race, including Kyle Larson’s potentially botched attempt to run the famed “Double.” Larson won't make it to Charlotte Motor Speedway in time for the start of NASCAR's Coke 600.

We're following Larson and more, with the latest updates, analysis and news from the track.

How to watch

The Indy 500 is on NBC and Peacock.

Annnnnd another caution. Marco Andretti spins on the restart.

The restart running order with 87 laps to go was Newgarden-McLaughlin-Ferrucci-Palou-Rossi-Larson-Castroneves-Canapino-Rasmussen-Rahal in the top 10.

Big spin for Ryan Hunter-Reay

Caution No. 6 of the Indy 500 was a hairy one. Ryan Hunter-Reay was trying to make a pass on Scott Dixon for 16th place, but Dixon drove him down into the grass and the two made contact. Hunter-Reay did a 360-degree spin and then was able to continue without further damage.

Colton Herta, a pre-race favorite, crashes

A big shocker as one of the best cars of the day crashed. Colton Herta, who was running in second place, suddenly wiggled and lost control of his car — and then hit the wall. Herta had aggressively and skillfully moved through the field, but what appears to be a mistake has suddenly taken him out of contention.

That last restart was incredible. We've just seen replays of how Scott McLaughlin got the lead, and he took it all the way down to the inside wall and came oh-so-close to hitting it. Absolutely gutsy display of bravery there. He currently runs second behind Sting Ray Robb (yes, that's his name).

PENALTY: Rinus VeeKay, unsafe release. He was P11. Has to drop to the rear.

Flavor Flav — Indy 500 hype man

Flavor Flav, the rapper and original member of Public Enemy, has been making the rounds at the Indy 500. He was spotted supporting driver Will Power . It appears he also hung out with Austin Butler and Ken Griffey Jr. at the race.

Engine woes for Honda continue

This is the latest yikes for Honda. Felix Rosenqvist became the third Honda-powered car to blow a motor, and it's still only 55 laps into the race. Certainly anyone with a Honda engine may be nervous at this point.

Scott McLaughlin leads Indy 500

We're a quarter of the way through the Indy 500. Polesitter Scott McLaughlin is the leader over Santino Ferrucci, the exciting American who is 5-for-5 in Indy 500 top-10 finishes. Then Alexander Rossi is third, followed by an aggressive Colton Herta and Josef Newgarden. NASCAR star Kyle Larson, who is missing the start of the Coca-Cola 600, is running in ninth place.

Jeff Gluck: There’s simply nothing like it. This is only my ninth 500, but if it’s up to me, I’ll never miss this race again. I love the pre-race ceremonies — “Taps,” the 21-gun salute, “Back Home Again in Indiana,” all the traditional things. You look up and down the frontstretch and it’s like a canyon with people on both sides of the track for as far as you can see, with the track bending off into the distance. It just feels massive — and it is — and everything on race day has to be experienced at least once in your life. Add it to your bucket list for sure.

Jordan Bianchi: The Indy 500 is one of the best sporting events on the calendar; a true slice of Americana that nothing else compares to. Being at the track during pre-race ceremonies is incomparable; it will literally give you goosebumps. It’s an event every sports fan should have on their bucket list.

Indy 500 expert predictions: The scoop on the drama, spectacle, long shots and favorites this weekend

Conor Daly passes Scott McLaughlin for the lead on Lap 37. Santino Ferrucci is also near the front, running third.

Another caution

There's another caution, this one on Lap 28, after rookie Linus Lundqvist went wide into the wall. It's been a rough start for this race with three cautions before Lap 30.

Uh oh for Honda

After Katherine Legge had a motor blow on Lap 21, two Honda engines have already expired early in the Indy 500. Marcus Armstrong also had his motor go bad on Lap 8. Additionally, three other Hondas are out of the race due to the Lap 1 incident involving Marcus Ericsson.

Kyle Larson has contact on restart

Kyle Larson's first restart in an Indy car featured his first hairy moment that included contact with a competitor.

Larson missed a shift on the restart, causing him to slow while a procession of cars passed him. Eventually, Larson got up to speed but as he did, he and Ryan Hunter-Reay made slight contact. Neither car suffered damage, and Larson was able to stabilize himself and continue on in the 14th position.

It's moments like this that spotlight Larson’s lack of experience in these types of cars. Restarts are just something a driver can't truly familiarize themselves with until they're in actual race conditions.

Ericsson: 'It’s just unbelievable'

"It’s just unbelievable," Marcus Ericsson tells NBC after exiting his car following his crash on the first lap. He called the situation "frustrating" and said he "can't believe it" multiple times. A tough break for the 2022 Indy 500 winner.

Marcus Ericsson involved in early crash at Indy 500

The Indy 500 didn't take long to see its first incident. On the opening lap of the race, rookie Tom Blomqvist spun when he got on the curb, which sent his car up the track into the path of 2022 Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson. The former F1 driver had nowhere to go and got slightly airborne, and immediately looked frustrated after a miserable month.

Ericsson had also crashed in practice and then barely qualified for the race in the last-row shootout on Bump Day. Then he immediately felt the consequences of starting in the back, since he was collected in an incident not of his own doing.

Pietro Fittipaldi also tried to avoid the wreck but got hit by Callum Ilott, who was supposed to start 15th but had to drop to the rear after a shifting issue during pace laps.

Green flag!

The Indy 500 gets underway, and there's an immediate caution after a crash.

Pace laps area underway at the Indy 500, but Callum Ilott (who was supposed to start P15) will now have to start at the back. He had to pit for mechanical issues.

Green flag next time by! NBC!

Engines fired

Roger Penske has given the command to fire engines. We're getting ready to go green, roughly four hours after the originally scheduled start.

How much does starting spot matter to win the Indy 500?

Indy 500 2023

On Indy 500 Media Day, driver after driver from rows further back in the field spoke of how the race can be won from anywhere. So if that’s the case, they said, the starting spot doesn’t really matter.

But those drivers may be trying to convince themselves, because the race hasn’t been won by a driver outside of the top 20 since Johnny Rutherford started 25th in 1974. Last year, when Josef Newgarden won from 17th, he was the first winner with a double-digit starting spot since Alexander Rossi (11th) in 2016.

"It does matter. It 100 percent matters," Colton Herta said. "You have to take so much more risk the further back you start. On restarts and pit stops, pit entry and pit strategy, you have to take a lot more risks and do something that's a little bit different than everybody. That can help you, but also catch you out and make you a lot worse off.

"Ideally you're in that top five the whole race and you do what the leaders do. It makes it a lot easier. But if you have to come from the back, you have to take a lot more risks."
