INTRODUCTION

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a Test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode w.e.f. December 2018 onwards.

Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations of the concerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, as the case may be for recruitment of Assistant Professor.

UGC-NET is conducted twice every year (June & December) . In order to regularize the UGC-NET examination cycle, the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC is conducting UGC NET December 2023 in 83 subjects, at selected cities across the country.

INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) – 2024] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday, 05 May 2024 (Sunday) in Pen and Paper mode in 13 languages, as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to BHMS course as per National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020. The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2024 would be conducted are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2024 are required to qualify NEET. The NEET score shall also be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.

Nta released the ugc net admit card 2024 on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. registered candidates can download their admit cards using their application number, date of birth and other details on the login page..

UGC NET Admit Card 2024

The UGC NET exam will be conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D. and admission to Ph.D. for various Indian universities and colleges, only in 83 subjects which will be in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode. The National Testing Agency will be conducting the examination of UGC NET on June 18, this year.

The exam will include two papers. Paper I will be for 100 marks and Paper II for 200 marks and the exam will be held in two shifts, the first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The exam will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions, and candidates will receive 2 marks for every correct answer. There will be no negative marking for any incorrect answers.

NTA To Start Application Process For UGC-NET June 2024 Session Soon

T he application forms for the UGC-NET June 2024 session will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the near future. Candidates can register by visiting the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in once the application forms are available. According to the NTA examination schedule for the academic year 2024-25, the UGC-NET Session I competitive exam is set to take place from June 1 to June 21.

Eligibility

To be eligible, a Master's degree in any field is required, with a minimum of 55% marks.

Furthermore, candidates from the reserved categories of OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender must possess a similar qualification with a minimum of 50% marks.

The maximum age for candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is 30 years.

There is no specified age requirement for candidates applying for the assistant professor examination.

Application Fees

The fee required for candidates belonging to the general category to apply for the exam is ₹1,100, whereas for OBC candidates it is ₹600.

Reserved category - SC/ ST/ PwD, the application fee is ₹275.

The UGC NET December 2022 would be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at various centres across the nation on February 21, 22, 23, and 24.
