Perfect touring pole

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just returned from a two week ski touring trip, and these poles worked great. Nice and lightweight, but also durable. Adjustment is easy, and the powder baskets are a good size. the wrist straps seem to stay put after you adjust them, and they're comfortable during ascents.

Quality Adjustable Pole

I have used this pole for one season already both at the resort and in the backcountry. Adjustability is solid (I'm 5'10") in the size range. They are light weight enough for a day climbing over 10,000' of vert so your arms aren't tired from lifting the poles. They have a quality vibration dampening feel when at the resort or going across chunder in the backcountry. One aspect I really like about this pole and others from Dynafit is the very top of the pole. I like to rest my hands on the very top of the pole when I'm standing. The larger surface area and rounded edges make for a comfortable hand rest.

VIRON2 DELUXE

Freeride, school.

The VIRON2 DELUXE allows the easiest access into the kite world. Highest longevity and safety, superb stability in the strongest storms, simple handling, auto-relaunch and usable on all terrains. This is a must have tool for all kitesurf stations and the best kite for teaching and children.

tour vairon 2

// AUTO-RELAUNCH

// simple useabilty & versatility, // great stability, "the viron2 revolutionizes the possibilities in teaching kitesurfing. we can start to teach in the water from the very first moment.".

Peter Goldbach , Founder boardway.org

Triple Depower

Triple Depower

There are 3 ways the kite achieves maximum depower: Reducing the angle of attack, profile change and reducing the projected area. This leads to a huge wind range and ideal handling.

Auto-Relaunch

Auto-Relaunch

The unique auto-relaunch delivers you the easiest kite relaunch you’ll ever experience. Even in low winds, simply let go of the control bar and the VIRON2 DLX will automatically wander and park at the edge of the window. With just a simple steering impulse, the VIRON2 DLX flies on.

Verbesserte Performance

Improved Performance

Developer Armin Harich has reworked the airfoil and construction on the kite, which has improved the overall flying performance. Now the VIRON2 DLX is even easier to control in strong, gusty winds. The Deluxe kite cloth has a noticeable effect on a kite’s performance – all sizes fly in less wind, turn tighter and have noticeably more power.

Raff-Safety

Reefline Safety System

The unique, patented and now even more robust Reefline Safety (which is similar to a 5th-line safety) of the VIRON2 DLX ensures maximum security and easy relaunch for everyone. After activating the Infinity quick release, the kite lands safely and easily without any remaining pull. It can be relaunched any time, even by beginners.

Langlebigkeit und Qualität

Automatic Drainage System

The proven drainage system is located on both ends of the trailing edge near the tips, openings that are about the size of a hand. They allow water and sand to be drained automatically, without influencing the performance of the kite.

Tiefe Y-Vergabelung

Deep Y-bridle

Because of the optimized bridle, the VIRON2 DLX is more efficient and stands flatter, generating more power, speed and up-wind performance.

Anyone still using 2 irons on tour?

What is the most popular club usage within tour in terms of 17-19* ranged clubs: 5 wood, 2 hybrid or 2 iron?

Just curious. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Freddy Couples still uses a 2 iron. As for most used in that usage range, I would think it would still be the five wood, but it's probably a toss up between that and the hybrid.

2023 What's In The Bag

theinsider

Geoff Ogilvy...he was asked about it today in an interview. Said he still has it in because he can still hit it as high as he needs too. Makes sense.

Not sure about anyone else...not many left.

Karlson has a titleist 735 2 iron. then zm 3-pw.

Used To Be Good

Freddie Couples has always used a 2 iron (Bridgestone J33 CB Prototype) and I can't see that changing.

A few players alternate between a 2 iron and a 5 wood depending on the course and weather conditions. Geoff Ogilvy (Cobra Forged CB), Justin Rose (TM R7 TP), Robert Karlsson (Titleist 735 CM), Rory McIlroy (Titleist ZM), Paul Casy (Nike Pro-Combo), Justin Leonard (Nike Pro-Combo), Angle Cabrera (Ping Rapture/Ping G2 HL), Davis Love III (Titleist 680), Adam Scott (Titleist AP2) to name but a few.

There are far fewer 2 irons on tour now than there was a few years ago which is mainly due to the changes in course setup and the fact they're normally playing in perfect conditions. That being said, you do see quite a few on the European Tour and every now and then you'll get an event where 75% of the players are using them.

Who still uses a 1 iron?

It depends how you look at it. It's been a while since I last saw a 1 iron on tour but look at it this way, the loft on Anthony Kim's 2 iron is 17*. That's a 1 iron in my book.

I love to see those guys with 2 irons;

unfortunately not may left playing it regardless of set up / conditions

Does tiger use his 2 iron after return from his surgery? I know he used to switch between 2 iron and 5 wood....

ragin cajun

I remember hearing that the 5 wood is going to be a permanent part of his bag now. Unless he gets in a situation where is really matters, like the 2007 PGA. Hot weather, ball flys farther, he used the long irons on all the doglegs. I find it intersting how those that play 2-irons, play a much more forgiving iron when compared to the rest of the irons in their bag.

No real surprise that Ogilvy still uses one, he hits the ball to the moon.

Extreme Firepower

Do you think Tiger would switch back to the 2 iron for the Open? Links golf and the way the pot bunkers are laid out I think a two iron is better for avoiding trouble than a 5 wood.
I find it intersting how those that play 2-irons, play a much more forgiving iron when compared to the rest of the irons in their bag.

It's always been quite common. Ping and Callaway 1 or 2 irons used to be commonplace next to a set of blades. It just means that if they do have to hit a high approach shot, they've got a bit more leverage with a cavity back iron over a blade.

I would have thought so mate. The 2 iron obviously flies a lot lower than the 5 wood as well so he's able to control it better in the wind. Most of the courses that these guys play on simply don't require an iron off the tee. They're all setup for big drives and big approaches. There aren't many courses that allow them to pitch it short and let it to run to the pin.

Edit: When Tiger switched to the last set of Nike Blades (with the Swoosh in the middle), he still used the 2 iron from the set with the Swoosh on the toe. If he does use a 2 iron for the Open Championship, I wonder if it'll be a new model or if he'll continue with the old favourite?

When do you exactly know which course to switch from 2 iron to 5 wood or vice versa?

The only thing I can think of is when playing on a windy course, players would go with 2 iron...

When he won at St Andrews he played some of the best golf in the last 10 years. These guys know how the courses play. Landing a 2 iron on the right part of a links fairway can give these shots driver like distances but with cert accuracy. Or they can hit a higher trajectory shot for position.

If you watch a lot of links golf, drives can come up real short depending where they pitch or bomb forward way too long from where the pro wants to club in with the big stick. They rip the driver for max distance which isn't great for links course management. 5 woods dropping from the moon ain't easy to control where it's going to bounce to. Living in Scotland, a perfect tee shot can kick at near right angles. You don't see such things on the US tour.

I'd bet $5 that Woods will be sporting a 2 iron this summer at Turnberry

Twoironblade

If you rely on hitting par 5s in two, you are often faced with carrying bunkers and/or a hazard on your approach shot. The trajectory of a 5 wood allows you to make the forced carry and still hold the green. Since pros need to take advantage of par 5s to stay even with the field, it makes sense for them to play a 5 wood when those types of par 5s are present on a course.

The advantage of a 2 iron is trajectory control and accuracy. The player can look at the types of shots he is faced with that week and decide whether to use a 2 iron or 5 wood. Even if those forced carries are present, the player may still have a few tee shots where he really wants the 2 iron, so he decides to keep it in the bag and lay up on the par 5s where he would have used the 5 wood.

Actually, another strategy is to keep both the 2 iron and 5 wood and drop the 3 iron that week (or day).

If you can save 1 stroke a round by using strategies like this, it adds up to a lot of cash.

Last year I saw Joey Sindelar hitting a 845 1 iron off tees.

Undivided Ent. Announces “Reunion Tour 2.0,” Plus International Maverick City Music & Kirk Franklin “Kingdom” Series

Kingdom Tour: Maverick City Music & Kirk Franklin - Atlanta, GA

Undivided Ent. has been living up to its name and serving us with a united front of entertainment for the past few years. Last night (April 16) they took to social media to announce that a Reunion Tour 2.0 is on the way!

Reunion Tour 2.0 is a follow up to the original 2023 tour that featured Kirk Franklin, The Clark Sisters, David and Tamela Mann, Tye Tribbett , and Israel Houghton. On this new run that is equally nostalgic, Kirk Franklin and The Clark Sisters return with Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, and Yolanda Adams.

The news comes just a day after teasing that Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin ’s groundbreaking Kingdom Tour would be making its way to Africa, Europe, and Asia. In 2022, the collective Kingdom Tour around their collaborative album Kingdom Book 1 set the highest attendance record for Christian/Gospel tours to date.

But that’s not all.

While Undivided Ent. is currently wrapping up the One Hallelujah Tour with Erica Campbell, Tasha Cobbs, Jonathan McReynolds, Israel Houghton, and Jekalyn Carr, earlier this Spring they announced the Girls Night Out Tour featuring Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Naomi Raine, Koryn Hawthorne and Wande kicking off this summer.

Are you not entertained?!

Taylor swift's surprise songs from night 2 of her edinburgh eras tour show, including a rare hannah montana pick, share this article.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continued its international journey on Saturday night in Scotland (afternoon in the United States) with the second of three shows in Edinburgh. The now 14-time Grammy winner will be touring almost non-stop for the entire year, and at each show she adds two “surprise songs” to her 44-song, three hour plus set list.

MORE:  7 adorable ways Scotland has embraced Taylor Swift and the Eras Tour before her Edinburgh shows

For the second night in Edinburgh, Swift chose a mashup of “The Bolter” from The Tortured Poets Department and “Getaway Car” from Reputation on guitar. On piano, she played a combo of “All Of The Girls You Loved Before” from Lover with a never-played-before “Crazier” from the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.

Next up, Swift has one more show in Edinburgh before sticking around the United Kingdom for shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, and London.

We added two more integrated spikes in the forefoot, bringing the total to six for great grip. We placed the spikes under the Air Zoom unit to provide better energy return and added comfort throughout your round.

Low and Stable

The Air Zoom unit is lower to the ground, offering you better stability without sacrificing responsiveness when marching from hole to hole.

Stability for Swings

The updated midsole foam offers a different level of stability for a more consistent underfoot feel, helping keep you level when swinging for the green or walking down the middle of the fairway.

The upper is made of Nike Flyweave construction, which gives you lightweight strength and containment. The lightweight stretch skin in the upper helps keep water out and makes the shoe easier to clean.

  • We upgraded the internal fit pods in the heel for comfort and security.

2024 U.S. Open field: Here’s who qualified for Pinehurst

  • Follow on Twitter
  • Follow on Instagram

Over 9,000 golfers attempted to qualify for this year's U.S. Open, but only 156 will tee it up this week at Pinehurst No. 2.

Getty Images

The U.S. Open is the most accessible major in all of golf. So long as you have a handicap index of .4 or lower (or are a professional) you can enter to play in our national championship.

That doesn’t mean you automatically get to waltz into Pinehurst, though. The USGA received over 10,000 entries for this year’s U.S. Open — and just 156 men will tee it up this week in the Cradle of American Golf. To get to Pinehurst, every member of the field had to earn their way in, whether it be through qualifying or exemptions for past play.

Featured in this year’s field are PGA Tour winners, major champions and future Hall-of-Famers. There’s also some major championship rookies, journeymen and long-shot dreamers. No matter their resume, each has the same goal entering the week: winning the U.S. Open.

Check out below for a full field list for those playing this week at Pinehurst No. 2.

Tiger Woods arrives Sunday at Pinehurst for U.S. Open preparation

Has finished third and second in previous two showings at pinehurst.

One of the rare courses that Tiger Woods has yet to fully solve: Pinehurst No. 2.

The 82-time PGA TOUR winner is on the ground in North Carolina, preparing for this coming week’s U.S. Open and aiming to fill one of the rare voids on his resume. Woods was seen Sunday in a black-and-white striped shirt and black pants, smiling as he set up shop on the Pinehurst practice range.

Woods is a three-time U.S. Open champion – most recently in 2008 at Torrey Pines, defeating Rocco Mediate in a memorable 18-hole playoff – but he hadn’t qualified for this year’s event via the standard qualification criteria. Last month, Woods graciously accepted a special exemption into this year’s U.S. Open, a testament to his enduring significance in the game.

“The U.S. Open, our national championship, is a truly special event for our game and one that has helped define my career,” said Woods in a USGA release last month. “I’m honored to receive this exemption and could not be more excited for the opportunity to compete in this year’s U.S. Open, especially at Pinehurst, a venue that means so much to the game.”

Tiger Woods gets ready for U.S. Open on Sunday at Pinehurst

Woods struggled at last month’s PGA Championship, missing the cut with rounds of 72-77, but his physical condition – which will always be a factor after various injuries and surgeries, including ankle surgery in April 2023 – didn’t appear to put his appearance at Pinehurst in jeopardy. He said after the PGA that he felt in better physical condition than the month prior (where he made the cut at the Masters with rounds of 73-72, but faded to 82-77 on the weekend). He also stressed the importance of playing more to knock off the inherent competitive rust – he has made just three TOUR starts this season, with the Masters and PGA preceded by a WD midway through the second round of The Genesis Invitational due to flu-like symptoms.

“Hopefully everything will somehow come together in my practice sessions at home and be ready for Pinehurst,” Woods said at the PGA.

The U.S. Open will mark his fourth start of 2024; he hasn’t made more than three TOUR starts in a season since 2020, and perhaps that rust will continue to fade. Woods will need a precise game at Pinehurst, with its dynamic shot values, turtleback greens and native areas expected to be more severe than at the most recent Pinehurst U.S. Open in 2014.

Woods finished tied for third at the 1999 U.S. Open at Pinehurst, two back of winner Payne Stewart, and he finished solo second in 2005, two back of Michael Campbell. He didn’t compete in the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst, as he was recovering from back surgery, meaning this will be his first competitive appearance at Pinehurst in 19 years. If he wasn’t quite at the height of his powers in 2005, he was pretty close, winning six times on TOUR that season including the Masters and The Open.

He just hasn’t been quite able to get over the finish line at Pinehurst, which is regarded in some circles as the home of American golf. It’s one of the rare things missing from Woods’ acclaimed resume – and although a victory this week might be unlikely, he’ll give it his best shot.

NASA Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams gave a tour of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft two days after docking at the International Space Station.

NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore took the public on a live tour of the Boeing Starliner on Saturday, two days after docking their spacecraft at the International Space Station .

Williams and Wilmore docked at the ISS on Thursday, a little more than 24 hours after becoming the first astronauts to launch on Starliner and United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla. The veteran astronauts and Navy test pilots are conducting the Crew Flight Test of Boeing's spacecraft to certify the vehicle for future astronaut missions to the space station.

The tour on NASA TV was the first look inside Starliner since before launch. The spacecraft's software system doesn't support live video, so once it was docked at the space station, the astronauts could use the ISS cameras and microphones.

"Let’s go on board the Starliner, where there was a little bit of action the other day," Williams said.

The astronaut and retired U.S. Navy captain was likely referring to being the first humans to launch in Boeing’s Starliner capsule on Wednesday and their exciting rendezvous with the International Space Station on Thursday .

Williams and Wilmore took turns holding the camera to show the view from the capsule cockpit and the controls of Starliner. Both astronauts wore their "Fly Navy" T-shirts. Williams brought a collection of fun socks into orbit and was sporting her American Flag socks.

Both astronauts have reviewed their trip on the Starliner positively so far. They will spend more than a week on the ISS before returning to Earth and landing in New Mexico .

"The spacecraft has handled remarkably well. Much better even than the simulator, and it’s just a positive event from start to finish," Wilmore said.

The astronauts said they performed an emergency drill over the weekend, running through an event as though they would need to evacuate the ISS and use the Starliner as a lifeboat.

For this trip with only two crew, the spacecraft could carry more cargo. Wilmore and Williams pointed out bags packed with emergency supplies, oxygen masks and other items that took up a lot of legroom inside.

"It’s actually fairly roomy for just Suni and myself with just the two of us," Wilmore said.

Williams closed the tour with remarks about the future missions for Starliner.

ULA's Atlas V rocket launched on Wednesday morning from Florida sending the first Boeing Starliner capsule with crew into orbit. NASA Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are conducting the crew flight test of Starliner and will spend about a week at the International Space Station.

"It's really awesome to showcase our new spacecraft, Starliner, and show them that we can take people up here, and we'll be hopefully rotating more and more people to the International Space Station this way, as well as our friends from Dragon and our friends who came in the Soyuz," Williams said. "So pretty spectacular event to have humans orbiting the planet, and now we have a number of ways to get people here."

Starliner's arrival marked the first time three vehicles capable of flying humans to space, including SpaceX 's Crew Dragon and the Russian Soyuz, were docked at the ISS. The next astronauts to launch on Starliner will be the first long-duration mission using the spacecraft called Starliner-1.
