Welcome to Delhi, the capital city. Arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and get greeted by our representative before being transferred to the hotel. Upon reaching hotel, you will be assisted with the checking-in procedures and will be briefed about the tour.

Delhi is an old city which has been inhabited since the 6th century BC and has been capital of many kingdoms. It was the capital of Indraprastha under the reign of the Pandavas during the Mahabharata. It underwent many kingdoms and got destroyed and rebuilt several times. Delhi is also called the “city of cities” and is full of beautiful monuments. The culture of the place has been influenced by its different rulers from time to time. And the same is reflected in the food habits of the residents. The Mughlai cuisine originated here since the reign of the Mughal rulers. Due to the proximity of different states, all festivals are celebrated here.

Get amazed and awestruck with the variation in construction and look. Old Delhi showcases a maze of small lanes lined and old buildings exhibiting the different cultures that reigned in the city. And New Delhi is a modern city with broad roads and high rises. New Delhi is the capital of India and is a political hub.

Start your morning with a tour to Old Delhi. This part of the city was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1639 AD. The first spot is the Raj Ghat – that is the cremation point of Mahatma Gandhi and the museum which was built to commemorate him. Up next is the visit to the iconic Red Fort and the areas of Chandni Chowk. The Red Fort was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years, until 1856. It houses a number of museums.

Chandni Chowk is one of the most popular and busiest markets in Old Delhi. You may take a rickshaw ride around the area to check out the colorful crowd and shops. These shops sell delicious food items, clothes, jewels, household things etc and typically a shopper’s paradise. You may pick a souvenir or two from this area.

The next spot to visit is the Jama Masjid, one of the iconic, historic and largest mosques in India built by Shah Jahan. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1644 and 1656 at a cost of 1 million rupees.The mosque was completed in 1656 AD with three great gates, four towers and two 40 metres high minarets constructed with strips of red sandstone and white marble.

In the afternoon, you would be driven to Humayun’s Tomb – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum in 1569-70. Your next spot is India Gate which is a war memorial located across the Rajpath built in the memory of the Unknown Soldier.

Drive past the Parliament House, President’s House and other Government Secreterial Buildings and reach your last spot of the day – Lakshinarayan Temple dedicated to Lord Narayana and Goddess Lakshmi.

Have your breakfast, and drive to Jaipur – the capital of Rajasthan which derives its name from Maharaja Jai Singh, the founder of the city. Jaipur is a tourist’s delight with its huge variety of impressive architecture and design. It is also called the “pink city” when it was painted pinksymbolizing hospitality to welcome the Prince of Wales in the 18th century.

You will be taken for a half day tour of Sanganer, which is famous for textile printing and its Jain temples. Sanganer prints are famous for their exclusive designs in colors that are printed on a white background. Sanganer is popular for Shri Digamber Jain temple made of red stone which pulls a large number of devotees. Lord Adinath - the first Tirthankara is worshipped here.

The temple was built in phrases during different times and portrays some of the finest carvings. The last part was constructed in the 10th century AD as per an inscription on one of the Toranas. The temple has seven underground floors kept closed due to old beliefs. Visitors are not allowed to enter the underground floors and only an ascetic Digamber saint can enter these floors.

Start your day with a visit to the Amber Fort – the former capital of the state of Jaipur. The outstanding piece of architecture was built in red sand and marble by Raja Mann Singh. The palace is divided into four sections each with a patio. Surajpol is the main entrance door which has a magnificent architecture to stare at. There is a temple near the Gate of Ganesg dedicated to the Goddess Sila Devi.

The other places include Diwan-e-Aam (Hall of public audience), Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of private audience), Sheesh Mahal - palace of mirrors and SukhNiwas which are all equally captivating to the eyes. SukhNiwas exhibits a unique phenomenon where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade inside the palace.

You will be taken to the City Palace of Maharaja which is a royal palace with seven floors and perfectly blends Mughal, Rajput and European styles. The palace has seven storeys and an observatory Jantar Mantar, which had always attracted the mathematicians as well as astronomers from across the world.

On the way, you will be driven past by Hawa Mahal with its unique five-story exterior that looks like honeycomb of a beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. You will also pass by the Jaipur business center.

The city trip to Jaipur will not be complete without shopping. The city is famous for clothing, carpets, precious stones, semi-precious, jewelry, crafts made of wood, metal and silk paintings and miniatures.

The next day is a drive from Jaipur to Agra visiting Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri enroute.

Abhaneri (AbhaNagri) which means the city of brightness. The GoddeshHarshat Mata temple stands for joy and happiness which is worth visiting for its wonderful architecture of the medieval era. Abhaneri has a glorious past and is home to one of the most famous wells of Rajasthan - "Chand Baori". It was built by King Chanda of the Nikumbh dynasty between 800 CE and 900 CE.

Up next is the former capital of Mughal Empire, Fatehpur Sikri which is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendors at its height. It was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. The place is an exceptional testimony to the Mughal civilization and is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Move ahead with your trip to the Jama Masjid, followed by the Tomb of SalimChisti, the five storied Panch Mahal and Buland Darwaza a graceful monument and stupendous piece of beautiful architectures. It is central portico with a total of three arched entrances and is locally known as Horseshoe gate. The other buildings of this place include Ibadat Khana, Mariam-uz-Zamani’s palace, Naubat Khana and Birbal’s house.

Reach Agra – the former capital of the Mughal rulers located at the banks of Yamuna River. Also called Akbarabad during the Mughal era, the city lived its greatest splendor and that was the time when the Fort, the TajMahal and other great mausoleums were built.

Treat your eyes with the beauty of Agra. Start the city trip with Taj Mahal – one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The magnificent construction was built in white marble by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between the years 1631 to 1648 in the memory of his beloved Queen MumtazMahal. Standing majestically on banks of Yamuna River, this breathtaking, immensely beautiful monument is a synonymous to romance and love.

Up next is Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its architectural structure, it was built in the 16th century during the Mughal Empire. There are several fairy-tale palaces like KhasMahal and Jahangir Palace, and Diwan-e-Aam(public audience hall) and Diwan-e-Khas (private audience hall). Agra is famous for inlaid marble work and handicrafts.

Have your breakfast at the hotel and you would be transferred to Delhi by road. Arrive Delhi and the vehicle will be at your disposal for a visit to the local markets, till afternoon and within the city limits.

'Purpose was to make world aware that Delhi alone doesn’t represent India'

Prime Minister further stated that his government succeeded in its efforts to create a new image and brand of Bharat and make the global powers 'curious' about India and its diversity, with a series of G-20 Summits across the country.

“We organised G-20 Summits across the length and breadth of the country and not just restricted it to Delhi alone. The purpose and thinking behind this was to make the world aware that Delhi alone doesn’t represent the country, the diversity of the country can be best explored by visiting all those diverse locations,” PM Modi said.

'Huge potential in country'

“Just by visiting the Taj Mahal, you can’t think you have seen the whole of Bharat. There is huge potential in the country and there are multiple destinations to explore,” he added.

Claiming that the tourist footfalls have increased in the country after the G20 Summit, PM Modi also explained how this gave boosted the country’s tourism prospects.

“Over 1 lakh policymakers from across the globe participated in more than 200 summits held under G20, in different parts of the country. They not only explored those locations but also informed their families and acquaintances in their respective countries about the beauty of India,” PM Modi told IANS.
