Our ride didn't arrive until 9:30am. We then changed vans at a central location and headed to the ruins. It was a nice visit with some culture. There were souvenir shops but absolutely no time to look around. We were told to switch vehicles again abs ended up with a different group. Then we went to lunch. Which was basic but good. After that we went to a great cenote and swam. The guide was fantastic. After that more of our group was changed and we went to a second cenote that was private but had partially collapsed, visibly dirty and had bugs everywhere. We were told we had 20 minutes to swim. Our whole group was ready to leave after 8 minutes. We then were dropped off at our hotel, which saved us taxi money at 3pm. Total time was 5.5 hours. Again not the tour we booked. No zip lines and no rapelling or snorkeling. Decent tour, lots of confusion and less than what we paid for. The staff was friendly but it was a disappointing day. Moka tours had a lot of customers on several tours. Several others complained about the constant changing vehicles amd delays. Wonderful and Relaxing!

Our Sunset cruise on the Moana was delightful!

We had 15 family members ranging from 10 to 78, and everyone was comfortable. Patrick and his crew kept us entertained and pampered. They even provided snorkeling gear, and a guide, and took us to a swimming spot for the kids.

The younger kids enjoyed being out in front in the "splash zone". The crew keep the boat spotless, and kept us "well fed and watered". It was a beautiful afternoon and lovely sunset.

We'll pick you up at the meeting point of your choice and make our way to Puerto del Carmen , where the catamaran will be waiting for us. Are you ready to sail the waters of southern Lanzarote at sunset ? 

We'll welcome you aboard the catamaran with a mojito and set sail just before sunset to enjoy spectacular golden hour views of the southern coast of Lanzarote . With a little luck, we may even see dolphins swimming alongside the boat!

During the  catamaran cruise , we'll get to see the typical white houses of Puerto del Carmen , picturesque fishing villages, volcanic landscapes, and beautiful beaches as the sun begins to set on the horizon.

We'll enjoy a magical sunset aboard the catamaran while we contemplate the coastline of Lanzarote and indulge in some delicious canapés. What's more, you'll have a drink included too, to choose between water, beer, sangria, or a soft drink. Cheers!

Sunset and dolphin-watching catamaran tour

Enjoy one of the most relaxing moments of your holidays in Lanzarote on this catamaran trip to see dolphins and watch the sunset.

The boat tour schedule varies throughout the year, but as a rule, it starts 2 hours before sunset and lasts until nightfall.

The first part of our adventure will be focused on spotting cetaceans. Although there’s no guarantee of finding dolphins in the open sea, the chances are more than 60%. If you’re lucky, we’ll see herds of dolphins surrounding the boat and, exceptionally, we’ll be able to spot a whale.

From the boat you can also see Puerto del Carmen and some of the craters found in this part of the island.

During the journey you can drink beer, sangria, mojitos, soft drinks and water and dine on some of our buffet dishes such as potato omelet, croquettes or vegetable sandwiches.

The catamaran is spacious and you can move through the bow, stern or bar area at all times.

As night falls, we’ll move closer to the port to enjoy a pleasant sunset, as we watch the sun hide behind the Lanzarote mountains.

This will undoubtedly be the finale of an afternoon that we hope you’ll enjoy and which you’ll remember as one of the best moments of your stay on the island.

Recommendations:

• Bring sunscreen, a cap and some warm clothing.
• Take precautionary measures for motion sickness.

Improvable. The negative part is that we didn’t see any dolphins not any other type of cetacean and the buffet was tasteless, the dishes had no flavour. On the positive side, watching the sunset from the sea with my partner was very relaxing.

A special sunset. The catamaran trip was very pleasant, however we didn’t see any dolphins and at dusk we saw the sunset in the mountains and not on the sea.

A nice experience. We didn’t see any dolphins but did spend an afternoon enjoying the sea and the sunset.

Worse than we expected. I went with my husband and we expected a better experience because we didn’t see any dolphins, the boat was full and we couldn’t sit in the bow of the boat, the snacks were pretty bad and the sun went down behind the mountains, not the sea.

A plan to do with the family. At first we thought it was a tour for couples but Luis told us that families with children also went so we decided to go, my husband and I, and our 8 and 10-year-old children. The four of us really enjoyed watching the dolphins and the sunset. Also, we had dinner on the boat and loved the experience.

A great sunset. Everything is planned so that you can enjoy the day’s last 2 hours of sun in a very special way. From the moment you’re welcomed until you leave the ship you’re entertained. Snacking, dolphin watching and finishing with a sunset from the sea. 2 very special hours.

Perfect for couples. Luis from OkLanzarote encouraged us to do this boat trip and gave us some tips to get the most out of it. Everything was perfect, from the moment they picked us up at the hotel until we got back. Good crew and a nice catamaran. The sunset was amazing and dolphin watching was spectacular.

A good way to end the day. I went with my husband and 2 children and we were very excited to see the dolphins so close to the boat and relaxed watching the sun go down.

We loved it. We saw quite a few dolphins, 2 whales and took in the sunset before heading back to port.

Good tour but we didn’t see any dolphins. We would’ve loved to see some dolphins but the boat ride and sunset at sea were still worth it.

Amazing. The catamaran ride was very pleasant and went by quickly. With a bit of luck you’ll get to spot some dolphins, as we did, and enjoy a nice sunset from the sea.

It’s good but crowded. The boat is big and a lot of people go on this tour. There are plenty of places to sit but we would’ve preferred to go with fewer people. Otherwise, we were lucky as we saw some dolphins and loved watching the sunset from the catamaran.

Unforgettable. We saw lots of dolphins and 2 whales sporadically, as they didn’t come up to the surface much. The crew was very friendly and helpful and the sunset at sea was one of the most relaxing and romantic moments of my honeymoon.

Good experience though unlucky. We didn’t see any dolphins on the outing, however the sea trip and sunset were worth it anyway.

Good organization and experience. The boat is big and it was almost full but there were many areas where you could sit and enjoy the sunset and see some dolphins.

It was worth it. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. We were able to see several dolphin families on 2 occasions at the beginning of the boat ride and then relaxed watching the sunset.

Sunset without dolphins. The boat ride is ok and the crew is lovely, but we weren’t lucky and didn’t see the dolphins.

Marvellous. We sat at the bow of the boat and watched several dolphins swim alongside the boat. A unique experience that ended with the sun going down behind the mountains which we saw from the catamaran

Sunset with friends. We were 3 couples and loved the experience. The catamaran is spacious and the crew is very friendly. The sunset was very nice and calm and seeing the dolphins was one of the most exciting moments of our lives. Thank you so much!!

Highly recommended. I went with my girlfriend because we wanted to do something romantic and we really liked it. Even though the catamaran is big and there are quite a few people, you can stay in one place or move around the boat. Seeing the dolphins was amazing, and the sunset was super relaxing.

A plan for couples. My girlfriend and I were excited to see the dolphins, the coast, the sunset, the boat…..everything was very good.

Dusk at sea. The catamaran ride was relaxing and we spent the first hour sailing in search of dolphins but unfortunately didn’t see any. We saw the sunset on the last hour of the tour.

Awesome. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the sunset and the dolphin sighting. Good organization and good onboard service.

Highly recommended. The catamaran is large and even if you sit in one area, you can move around the boat during the trip. They gave us several drinks and a lot of snacks. The crew was very friendly and we saw a large pod of dolphins on the first part of the tour and watched the sun go down over the island’s mountains before heading back to the pier.

Staying at Grand Hyatt for the start of our trip then moving on to Andaz Myakoba this October. Love some feedback on restaurants both for a fun lunch vibe and then for dinner?

Would love to golf one or two days. I know Myakoba can help with green fees but if I’m missing something, please let me know. Would love a couple day trips. One for sure is a full day catamaran trip with lunch and a beach stop- any recommendations?. Suggestions for a land trip? Also are there sunset cruise?

Never been to this area before so looking forward to it :). Thank you!!!!

Forgot to mention. Two adults, no children :)

Check Maroma Adventures for sunset cat sails and other water and land excursions, plus Dolphin Discovery , 9km north of Mayakoba.

Our favorite cat sails are out of Puerto Aventuras, a gated community with a deep harbor/marina 24km south of Grand Hyatt. The favorite of visiting friends/family is Catamaya. No beach stop, just a 4 hr day with a snorkel stop and lunch on the boat, but an amazing day! Look at Local Quickies for a more adventurous day!

For a fun lunch vibe definitely Karen’s Restaurant on 5th Ave. But the best time is after 7PM when Luis is working. For a nice dinner oh la la is our favorite…

Land excursion could include Coba and a nice cenote, or for a shorter day the Mayan ruins of Tulum and a closer cenote.
