Best Programs to Travel for Students Around the World

Study Abroad Programs:

One of the most popular ways students travel abroad is through study abroad programs. These programs, offered by universities and colleges worldwide, allow students to spend a semester or more studying in a foreign country. Not only do they get to experience life as a local student, but they also earn academic credits towards their degree. Destinations vary widely, from historic European cities to vibrant Asian metropolises. Scholarships and financial aid often make these programs affordable for students.

Work and Travel Programs:

Work and travel programs, such as the J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program in the United States, enable students to work part-time while experiencing life in another country. Students can take on temporary jobs to fund their travels, thereby gaining cultural insights and international work experience. Popular destinations include the United States, Canada, Australia, and various European countries.

Teaching English Abroad:

Teaching English as foreign language (TEFL) programs allow students to travel while making a positive impact. These programs usually require a TEFL or TESOL certification, which can be obtained relatively quickly. South Korea, Japan, China, and Europe offer English teaching opportunities. In addition to a salary, teachers often receive benefits like accommodation and airfare, making it an excellent way to explore new cultures

Volunteer Abroad Programs:

Volunteering abroad allows students to give back while immersing themselves in a foreign culture. Numerous organizations offer opportunities to work on community projects, environmental initiatives, and humanitarian efforts. These experiences can be both rewarding and eye-opening. Students can choose from various destinations, from African villages to South American rainforests.

Summer Abroad Programs:

Summer abroad programs provide a perfect solution for students looking to travel during the summer break. These shorter-term programs allow students to experience a different country without interrupting their academic studies. Whether it’s a language immersion program in Spain or an archaeology excavation in Greece, there are options for all interests.

Scholarships and Grants for International Travel:

Many organizations and foundations offer scholarships and grants for students who wish to travel abroad. These financial awards can significantly reduce the cost of international travel. For example, the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship supports students with limited financial means. Students should research these opportunities to discover the funding that matches their goals.

Scholarships and Grants for International Travel:

Internship Abroad:

International internships offer students the chance to gain professional experience in a foreign country. This is particularly beneficial for students in fields such as international business, journalism, and the sciences. Companies and organizations in major cities worldwide often host interns. It’s a great way to build a global network and enhance one’s resume.

Student Exchange Programs:

Student exchange programs like the Erasmus+ program in Europe facilitate cultural exchange between students from different countries. These programs often enable students to live with host families, enhancing their immersion experience. Exchanges can be for a semester or an entire academic year, allowing students to embrace life in a new country fully.

Adventure Travel Programs:

Adventure travel programs are perfect for students seeking a more unconventional experience. These programs involve trekking, mountain climbing, or exploring remote regions. Destinations may include the Himalayas, the Amazon rainforest, or the African savannah. Adventure travel offers a unique blend of adrenaline, cultural immersion, and environmental appreciation.

Cultural Exchange Programs:

Cultural exchange programs are designed to foster understanding and relationships between people from different cultures. The International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) and the American Field Service (AFS) are examples of organizations that offer such opportunities. Students can live with local families and participate in cultural activities to gain insights into people’s daily lives in the host country.

Language Immersion Programs:

Language immersion programs are an excellent way for students to improve their language skills while experiencing life in a foreign country. Countries like France, Spain, and Japan offer language immersion programs for students. Living and studying in a place where the language is spoken daily accelerates language acquisition and cultural understanding.

Traveling as a student is a rewarding and life-changing experience. The world has opportunities for cultural immersion, education, and personal development. Whether through study abroad programs, work and travel initiatives, volunteering, or internships, there are countless paths for students to explore the world. Scholarships and grants can make these experiences accessible to students from all backgrounds. The programs mentioned in this article are just a selection of the many possibilities available, and each offers its unique set of experiences. Students should seize these opportunities to broaden their horizons, foster personal growth, and create lasting memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. Travel, after all, is one of the best forms of education.

I wanted to write and tell you what a terrific job you did with our trip. I’ve been traveling since 1980 and this was the easiest trip ever for me. I simply had to do nothing but teach! It’s hard to believe it’s taken me this long to get it right, slow learner! The students and parents have had nothing to say but wonderful things…

Nan Moore Male High School

You have been so wonderful with our parents and students throughout the entire course of this tour. I am so glad we signed on with Music Travel Consultants/Educational Destinations as you gave our group the red carpet treatment every step of the way.

Janis Stackhouse Bloomington High School North

Music Travel Consultants/Educational Destinations is top-notch. The professionalism of the staff and their attention to detail is a director’s dream come true. My students and I have traveled with them four times over the past several years and I can say that “I won’t leave home without them!

Jena Adrianson Lawrence Central High School

I can’t say enough good things about Educational Destinations. They had everything covered and it was a relaxing and fun trip. My students and parents commented that it was the best trip we have ever taken. I’m ready to plan another trip with this company.

Brenda Bergman Jay County School Corporation

I recently had the pleasure of going on a Disney Trip with our band from Eastern High School in Greentown, IN. I was skeptical about going but am so glad I did. My Grandson and I came in rather late and had no problems whatsoever in getting onto your site, paying for our trip, and having confirmation that we were good to go.

Dianna Workinger Greentown, IN

Being able to trust implicitly the people who are planning what we will see, the timing of the itinerary, and the traveling arrangements is comforting not only to our staff but also to our parents. For our parents to know that this is a company that we use year after year with great results gives them the peace of mind that their children will experience the safest trip possible.

Mrs. Kathy Schubel Principal, St. Bartholomew Catholic School

I wanted to thank you so much for such a great trip! Our kids had a wonderful time and I could not imagine how we would have seen all that we were able to see without having you organize this trip for us.

Angie Remington Madison-Grant Elementary Students

I have worked with Educational Destinations on a yearly basis since 2001 and ED is the best educational travel group our school has ever worked with. It is refreshing to know that during the course of a trip that if any questions or problems arise, we have the consultant, whom we have worked with all year, right there with us to answer all questions and take care of the tickets and timing. It makes the trip very relaxing and enjoyable and a trip our kids never forget.

Darrin Russell 8th Grade U.S. History, Mitchell High School

I have been coordinating educational field trips for my school for the past 10 years and could not be happier with Educational Destinations. From the very first brainstorming session to the moment we return home from our trip, Educational Destinations works tirelessly to make sure our trips are memorable and successful. They are always quick to answer my questions, which I truly appreciate. Michael, Robin, and Ryan have been fantastic to work with over the years and I highly recommend them!

Kris Samick Spencer-Owen Community School Corporation

Educational Destinations has taken the stress out of planning and traveling with a large group. As a teacher, I am now able to actually enjoy the time I have with my students instead of worrying about all of the necessary details. From the very first contact made to the last moment of the trip and beyond, each and every person we have interacted with from Educational Destinations has been professional, concerned about fulfilling our needs, and exceptionally conscientious.

8 Airlines That Give Students and Young Adults Discounts and Exclusive Benefits

Did you know airlines offer student and young adult discounts? Here's what you need to know to save money on your next flight.

Harrison Pierce is a freelance writer and digital nomad passionate about personal finance and travel. He is traveling full-time with the help of points and miles and enjoys connecting with people on the ground. His work has been published in Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, USA Today Blueprint, Matador Network, and other publications.

When flight prices are high, it’s essential to find any way to cut costs. This is especially true for students, who might be on a limited budget or be less flexible for times and dates they can fly. Luckily, some airlines offer student or youth discounts. Although these discounts generally aren’t substantial, every little bit helps to make travel more accessible. Requirements and eligibility will vary by airline, but you can expect the promotion to be valid on economy tickets and select routes.

“We know travel is a priority for many young adults, so this summer season, which we anticipate will be United’s busiest ever with 5 percent more customers flying the airline this June, July, and August, we’re thrilled to offer United MileagePlus members ages 18 to 23 an exclusive discount on United Economy and Basic Economy seats – making it even easier for them to take flight on their next adventure,” says a spokesperson for United.

Here are some domestic and international airlines that offer discounts for students or young adult travelers. Depending on the airline, these benefits range from 10 percent off your fare to an additional checked bag.

MileagePlus members ages 18 to 23 can receive a 5 percent discount on economy and basic economy seats for bookings made through September 30, 2024. To redeem, log in to the United app, go to the “book flight” section, and select the young traveler discount. Flights will automatically have the promotion applied. Remember that basic economy seats might not include a checked bag, so you will need to travel light to make the promotion worth it. This is the only U.S.-based airline that offers student discounts at the time of writing.

Iberia Joven is a program for both students and young people. If you are under 30, you get a 10 percent discount on flights; if you book for a group of four or more, you get a 15 percent discount. If you are traveling to study abroad, you can take an extra bag and make a free change on your return flight, regardless of your age.

If you are enrolled at an eligible college or university, you can get 10 percent off when you book a Lite, Value, or Standard fare as part of Singapore Airlines student privileges . You will also receive an increased baggage allowance and a fee waiver on your first booking change. Singapore Airlines is unique in offering student discounts on economy, premium economy, and business class fares. All you need to do is verify your student status and start looking for deals.

Qatar Airways has one of the best student programs on this list. Once you enroll in the Student Club program, you will receive a coupon for 10 percent off your booking. After your first journey, you’ll get 15 percent off your next booking and 20 percent off after your second and third trips. Students also receive increased flexibility, extra baggage allowance, and complimentary onboard Wi-Fi. You can extend your privileges to friends and family by selecting them to be student companions. If you fly once a year while enrolled in the program, you will receive a one-time elite status tier upgrade when you graduate. Enrolling in the program is quick and free but can provide substantial savings if you’re a Qatar frequent flier.

Students ages 16 to 31 can receive up to 10 percent off economy and business class fares by using the promo code STUDENT to book a flight from now until March 31, 2025. You’ll also receive increased flexibility on your bookings. For all flights except those to/from Canada and the U.S., you will get 10 kilograms more or an extra piece of luggage. To qualify, you need a valid student ID or school acceptance letter at check-in.

SAS is another airline that offers youth tickets , but the amount you save will depend on the route you take and is difficult to predict. You must be between 12 and 25 years old and have a valid ID to be eligible. Seat availability is limited and is only available in specific booking classes (V class/O class). To redeem, simply search for a youth ticket.

Lufthansa has a looser interpretation of “student.” To qualify for their student fare benefits , you must be 16 or older and either be enrolled in higher education or have proof that you’ve been accepted. You can search for and book student fares once you verify your student status based on your departure country. Destinations will depend on your origin, but if you attend school in the U.S., you can fly to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. Apart from savings, student fares also offer rebooking and refunds.

Turkish Airlines has a great student program . You can receive up to 20 percent off domestic flights within Turkey and up to 15 percent off international flights. You also get an increased baggage allowance, a free ticket change, and 25 percent bonus miles on flights through the end of 2024. You simply need to create a Miles&Smiles account, verify your student status, and book your ticket.

These programs are free to enroll in, so it only makes sense to take advantage of them if you are a student or eligible young adult who wants to see the world. Even if the savings aren’t substantial, every little bit helps when you’re on a budget.

What Our Clients Say

I have been traveling with Kaleidoscope for 19 years and still continue to be impressed by their expertise and willingness to go the extra mile to make my trip a success!

Our trip was a great success! Everything was well thought out and organized. I am very pleased with the level of care that went in to our trip becoming a success. Thank you!

Kaleidoscope Adventures was incredibly easy to work with while planning our trip to Disney World. The staff was knowledgeable, quick to communicate, and patient with all of my questions while planning. Our tour director was also flexible throughout our trip as we made sure all of our students were taken care of.

Using Kaleidoscope Adventures gave us the easiest, most enjoyable trip of my career. I used to plan trips myself, but never again! All staff went above and beyond to help me and provide my students with memories that will last forever.

This was our first school trip with Kaleidoscope taking a group of 80 students and chaperones from the Washington, DC area to Nashville, TN. Every expectation was exceeded! We will DEFINITELY use Kaleidoscope again for our school trip planning!

The parents and students all had an unforgettable trip and that is much to your passion for providing the best trip possible! You have such attention to detail and were always willing to talk to me through email or on the phone even if it was the fifth time that day! I truly appreciate the time that you spent making our trip so amazing! Thank you so very much!

What an excellent trip. Everything was planned out to make a very memorable experience for my students. Linda was a wonderful tour guide. She handled all my request with professionalism and expedience. Karla knocked it out of the park with helping me set up the trip, even through a pandemic! Kaleidoscope Adventures is a top notch tour company that will do what it takes to create the best experience for you and your students.

Working with Karla and Steve it was so easy. They were helpful whenever we needed them and went out of their way to assist us whenever they could. This is our second trip with them and we will definitely be using them again! We had some change of plans due to Covid and they were so accommodating and made things so easy for our group. This is a company that knows what they’re doing and is a great group of people to work with!

The KA team is outstanding. From the moment you begin to talk with an event planner until the moment you arrive home, someone is always available to make your life easier. Our consultant, Joseph, is incredibly knowledgeable and laid out every aspect of the trip, complete with the pros and cons of every option. Once settled, our account manager, Lisa made sure every logistical hurdle was cleared and laid out concise directions for how things needed to be done. Finally, our tour director, Cameron, was always there, in person, to make sure our events ran smoothly. He constantly advocated for our group and made sure we were taken care of. I would consider our trip to be a great success had it ended there, but there is still more. Our latest trip ran into a weather issue when it came time to return home. KA was there every step of the way to exhaust every possible option to get us home.  I don’t know what I would have done if it were not for the KA team. They planned an amazing trip and didn’t stop until we were home safely. If you’re looking for a tried and true company to plan your trip, your search should start and end with KA. You will not be disappointed.

Neal, Cameron and the entire Kaleidoscope Adventures team made our trip a great experience! From the planning to the on site help, the entire trip was made easy for the directors!

Kaleidoscope Adventures continues to be the best choice I have made as an educator to plan and execute our travel needs. I just worry about the kids now and can focus on our performance and no more worries about bus, hotel, meals and shows! Thank you for serving us so well for the last 19 years!!

Kaleidoscope Adventures makes traveling with your school group as easy and enjoyable as possible! I have worked with them for many years now and they are outstanding.

Kaleidoscope Adventures is a company that I’ve collaborated with for years and I feel in my heart that education and safety are right at the top of their priority list. They tailor a trip to the specific needs and requests of the group and are patient with all of the requests of the teacher in charge. In short, they are the best!

When you get tired of working your fingers to the bone getting your trip together, give in and use the staff at Kaleidoscope Adventures. I have never been less stressed when taking a trip with middle school kids. They are top notch and are extremely thorough. I will never use anyone else.

I have been working with Joseph and the team for 10 years in 2 schools after having worked with 2 other tour companies. The professionalism and attention to detail are unmatched. They are always a phone call away from solving any problem and their experience offers fresh and new approaches to established group travel traditions. I once again thank you for yet another successful tour allowing me to focus on the students and not the logistics.

Kaleidoscope Adventures takes a personal interest in each and every trip and their staff works tirelessly to make sure it’s a great experience for my students. They go above and beyond with even the smallest details. We have loved every trip we’ve taken with KA and can’t wait until the next one!

Italian immersion: rice voice students travel to italy to learn language, history.

Shepherd School voice students in Italy

It’s difficult for second-year master’s student Megan Brilleslyper to pick her favorite memory from her three-week trip to Florence, Italy, with several other voice students from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music .

“Opera was born in Italy,” Brilleslyper said. “Whether you speak the language or not, it was amazing to just be in the region and feel the history.”

Sifting through memories of Italian lessons at the Michelangelo Institute , day trips, cooking classes and wine tours, Brilleslyper got emotional recounting the recital she and the other Shepherd School students performed for their Michelangelo colleagues.

Megan Brilleslyper Michelangelo Institute

“There we were after three weeks of learning the language, singing some of the biggest Italian arias for a roomful of people who know nothing about opera,” Brilleslyper said. “And yet every single person in the room was touched by it. Everyone was crying. Everyone was cheering. I get emotional thinking about it, but that is why I perform: for moments like that.”

“This trip made me realize how much bigger the world is — not that my life is insignificant, but there are billions of people with stories and experiences as complex as mine,” said Adam Catangui, another second-year master’s student. “How lucky are we to be in a profession that threads those stories together?”

The trip is possible thanks to the late Margaret Pack , whose generous gift funded the Margaret Pack Language Institute for Singers. For more than a decade, the institute has provided Shepherd School students with a special opportunity unique among its peer institutions: to travel to Italy and immerse themselves in the country’s culture and teachings of the Michelangelo Institute.

“Imagine the nicest group of people from all over the world coming together to learn Italian,” Catangui said, adding that the program offered a balanced approach that featured structured learning with dedicated grammar sessions and opportunities to interact with fellow students through conversation classes. “It was in the conversation portion that I got to learn so much about the lives and cultures of my classmates.”

The program extended well beyond the classroom. For example, a weekend trip to Lucca, Italy, the birthplace of composer Giacomo Puccini , offered a tangible connection to the Shepherd School students’ artistic heritage.

Opera students in Italy

“We got to see his house where he grew up,” said Brilleslyper. “All the plaques and information in the museum were in Italian, so we were practicing our Italian and learning about what we were seeing.”

Brilleslyper and Catangui said understanding the language helped them unlock a deeper appreciation for the music they perform.

“It doesn’t really matter how much you memorize translations,” Brilleslyper said. “If you don’t know the language, you can’t truly convey the essence of the character or the story.”

Beyond artistic growth, the experience fostered strong bonds between the students, forging connections that promise to have lasting benefits in the competitive world of opera.

“Being there with not only eight of the most talented people I’ve ever met but just wonderful people, we just had such a good time together,” Brilleslyper said with Catangui adding, “The fact that I got to experience this with my best friends is something that I will hold on to for the rest of my life.”

Just as they’ve returned to Houston with strengthened friendships, Brilleslyper and Catangui agreed that they’ve also brought back a continued commitment to maintaining Italian fluency.

“All of my Italian music now has a deeper meaning for me because I know the words I’m saying,” Brilleslyper said.

That is the goal of the program, said Joshua Winograde , director of opera studies at the Shepherd School.

“Opera is an art form that begins and ends with the expression of text,” Winograde said, expressing his gratitude for Pack’s generosity. “Most students at Rice will spend much of their professional lives singing primarily in languages that they had to learn as adults, and so dedicated immersive language study, such as this trip to Italy, is a crucial part of the education we provide.”

It was an experience Catangui described as “the opportunity of a lifetime,” and one Brilleslyper said has inspired her to apply for young artist programs overseas.

“That just wasn’t something I had really thought of before because of the language barrier,” Brilleslyper said. “Now I’m a little less scared about the idea of trying to have an international opera career. It showed me, ‘OK, you could do it. You can get through it.’”

The Shepherd School’s 2024-25 season will be announced this summer.  Sign up to receive the full lineup via email .

All students, faculty and staff are required to receive prior approval to travel internationally on behalf of the university, which follows the U.S. Department of State recommendations.

Students traveling internationally are required to get approval from their department chair, college dean and provost for countries designated a level 1-4 risk. All students must register their travel on the new S&T travel registry platform.

Faculty and staff are required to get approval from their department chair and college dean for countries designated a level 1-2 risk. Faculty and staff are required to get approval from their department chair, college dean and provost for countries designated a level 3-4 risk. Missouri S&T’s faculty and staff travel registry platform is being developed and you will be notified when it opens for registration.

If you are not employed by an academic department or college, you will need approval from the administrative leader of your office using the departmental travel authorization form. You do not need approval from a dean.

More information about U.S. Department of State travel advisory levels, processes, procedures and travel forms can be found on S&T’s International Travel website .

Commentary | Marin Voice: Why do I have to travel so far to take a college admissions test?

Author

It’s not due to lack of planning on my part. I went on the College Board site to register for the June SAT the first hour of the first day that students could sign up. But within minutes, all the seats in my county and across Northern California were gone. Registering for the SAT in the Bay Area is as difficult as snagging tickets to a Taylor Swift concert.

I’m not the only one in California going to extremes to find a place to take a college entrance exam. One mom in my community posted on her Facebook page, “It took two months of effort and three calls into ACT to get a spot that is over 100 miles away!” Other California families joined the conversation explaining: “Same thing in SoCal. Last year we had to drive 100 miles for an 8AM test so we spent the night… so irritating.”

I know SAT and ACT tests are controversial. I’m not here to debate whether they should exist. The fact is, they still matter whether we like it or not. As it stands for the 2025 college application cycle, only 4% of four-year colleges are test blind, meaning they don’t accept test scores. Most schools (87%) are test-optional (aka test-preferred) and the remaining 9% are test-required, according to Fairtest. If a good test score could potentially increase my chances of getting accepted to 96% of four-year colleges, I want access to that test. And as long as most colleges are test-optional, those exams should be readily available to all high school students.

So yes, I am traveling 1,800 miles to take the SAT. We chose Dallas because they had lots of seats available and cheap flights. Having parents with the financial means and the flexibility in their work schedules to get me to a testing site far from home is an advantage many others don’t have. The lack of testing sites in California is not just an inconvenience, it’s an equity issue.

California students who can’t take the test because of lack of access will miss out on admission opportunities to some colleges and to scholarships that consider or require SAT/ACT scores in their decisions. For many students, especially those from low-income families, this could mean losing out on aid that would make college affordable.

Lack of adequate testing sites seems to be especially problematic in Northern California. Looking at the Aug. 24 SAT testing date demonstrates this. If you’d searched the College Board website last week for testing centers within 100 miles of San Francisco, Dallas and New York City, you’d have found 103 testing sites in the New York area, 49 of which still had available seats. In the Dallas area there were 69 testing sites and 65 of them still had availability. But in the Bay Area, there were only 12 testing sites and they were 100% booked for the August test. In fact, the nearest test center to San Francisco with availability was 405 miles away. This lack of access puts Northern California students at a disadvantage.

California obviously needs more testing sites. But I would advocate for college entrance exams to be offered to every high school student at their own school during a regular school day, as is done with other standardized tests such as the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress.

After my family and others raised the issue of lack of available testing sites to our superintendent, our school district agreed to host an SAT School Day in October. This will allow the students in the district to take the SAT at their school during regular school hours. But change in one school district is not enough. Students and parents across California need to demand more testing sites at more schools so that more California kids can pursue their college dreams.

The mba journey goes hybrid and remote.

by Jessica Moreno, Assistant Director of MBA Admissions

Online and flexible learning formats have surged in popularity since the COVID-19 pandemic, transforming the higher education landscape. As demand for them grows, schools are investing in cutting-edge technologies to enrich the learning journey and combine the convenience of virtual learning with the power of in-person networking.

It’s great news for those who want to pursue an MBA while balancing life and work responsibilities. Online and hybrid programs make the degree more accessible and adaptable than ever before. As these MBA formats are relatively new, it’s natural to wonder about their pros and cons. Here we provide an overview of these program options and share a few strategies for success.

Online or Hybrid? Pros and Cons

For students seeking to advance their careers, online and hybrid MBAs maximize flexibility and minimize travel. Some of these programs, like ours, are taught by the same world-renowned faculty as in-person MBA programs. They also provide access to the entire university alumni network.

These formats may not be the best fit for students seeking to switch careers through an internship program. They also may not offer as many in-person networking opportunities as fully in-person programs. (Note: At Rice, we have an open-door policy for all our online and hybrid MBA students to visit campus at any time they wish.)

Here’s what you need to know about online and hybrid programs, including their potential advantages and drawbacks.

In fully online MBA programs, courses and lectures are delivered virtually, either in real-time (synchronous) or as recordings (asynchronous). Students can attend classes from anywhere in the world, often on their own schedule.

  • Unmatched flexibility in location and learning schedule
  • No commuting time or costs
  • Join a diverse, global community
  • Access to universities not located where you live and work
  • Potential technical difficulties
  • High demand for self-discipline
  • Limited hands-on learning
  • Limited peer socialization (although our learning management systems and virtual study groups can foster a strong sense of community)

Note: Students of Rice’s Online MBA can still benefit from in-person learning. Our program includes two week-long immersive experiences — one on campus and one global field experience — to facilitate networking and collaboration.

Strategies for success:

  • Create a dedicated study space to establish a routine and minimize distractions.
  • Use tools like calendars and task managers to keep track of deadlines and class schedules.
  • Engage actively with classmates and faculty through online forums and study groups.
  • Join student clubs and find other ways to engage in the school’s community.

Interested in Rice Business?

In hybrid programs, courses and lectures blend both in-person and online sessions. At Rice , for example, classes are 70% in-person and 30% remote. Students attend in-person classes one weekend a month — three per semester. The rest of the program takes place remotely.

  • Access to multiple learning experiences
  • More networking opportunities, both online and face-to-face
  • In-person benefits such as libraries, coffee chats, office hours, and career consultations
  • Ability to join a program that is not in your hometown while also benefitting from significant in-person class time
  • Balancing online and in-person schedule
  • Travel and associated costs

Note: Rice’s Hybrid MBA has a structured residency program. Students stay in the same hotel during in-person weekends, and costs are included in tuition.

  • Block your work and personal calendars in advance of online and in-person sessions.
  • Organize travel and accommodation well in advance.
  • Create both remote and in-person communities.

Which Program is Right for You?

As the job market shifts to remote and hybrid work, business schools are doing the same. If you’re exploring MBA programs and want flexibility along with a global network, hybrid and remote formats are an excellent option.
