The Different Types of Field Trip Proposal Forms

There are lots of forms that enable both students and teachers to propose their ideas for the many different locations that are suitable for field trips. They just have to make sure that the location is agreed upon by everyone, especially those in charge of the trip. Here are some examples of these forms:

  • Science Fair Field Trip Proposal Forms  are the kinds of forms teachers or students use to suggest a field trip at a science fair. These fairs are usually held by another school, so it’s best to give those schools a form of notice before the trip.
  • International Field Trip Proposal Forms are for those field trips that teachers suggest to their higher-ups for a field trip that’s out of the country. These are more expensive and entail more risks so it’s important to have these trips proposed and planned out ahead of time.
  • Workshop / Field Trip Proposal Forms are used on school field trips that are proposed for students to visit either one or more workshops. These forms are usually for the purpose of educating the students on the different skills they may be able to acquire while participating in these workshops.

The Importance of Proposing Ideas for School Field Trips

Think of School Field Trip Proposal Forms as akin to  Project Proposal Forms . A Project Proposal Form plans out an idea of how a project should go and its procedures the same way a School Field Trip Proposal Form figures out where to go and the activities they’ll perform in that location.

Proposing the right location of the field trip is very important because the location has to be agreeable with everyone involved in the trip. The location is especially important when it comes to educational purposes as the right destination could either give the students more valuable insight, or it could end up with them not caring and finding the trip a complete waste of time.

So if you have a suggestion for a trip that you think could be beneficial to both the school and yourself, then feel free to use our School Field Trip Proposal Forms.

A School Trip Proposal determines where they will travel and what activities they will do there. Proposing the best field trip site is critical since the place must be acceptable to everyone engaged in the trip. When it comes to educational objectives , the location is very significant since the correct destination may either provide students more vital information or make them uninterested in the trip, making it a complete waste of time.

Travel may be a life-changing event, but it can also be costly. Fortunately, if you are traveling for intellectual, creative, or humanitarian purposes, you may be able to acquire financing, equipment, or in-kind gifts. A Trip Proposal Template can help provide you with the framework you need to ensure that you have a well-prepared and robust proposal on hand to secure the funding or approval that you need. To do so, you can choose one of our excellent templates listed above. If you want to write it yourself, follow these steps below to guide you:

Begin your proposal by providing a full and well-researched background on the educational topic that will be the focus of your field trip. Include comments that link your educational topic to state or school educational requirements, as well as statements that illustrate why first-hand experience is the greatest method to learn about the issue.

Describe the educational goals of your intended field trip. Align your goals with the educational standards used to create unit and lesson plans for the discipline where your suggested field trip would be most useful.

This will be determined by the location of your trip, the amount of time you have, and the additional equipment you’ll require. All sought funds and help must be thoroughly described and accounted for in the proposal.

Find out what institutions are interested in initiatives like yours if you don’t have a specific organization in mind.

Describe the specifics of the field trip. Include the names of any groups or persons with whom the students may engage, as well as any companies or organizations that the group may patronize. When articulating how your intended trips would satisfy student needs, remember to be specific.

Not only is it an enjoyable and memorable experience, but students are constantly given opportunity to increase their own specific tacit knowledge, which is essential for higher-level learning and problem-solving abilities.

Field visits serve to reinforce classroom concepts and bring teachings to life in the classroom.

A Study Tour is a tour taken by a group of students for educational objectives.

Finally, it prepares you to Leave No Trace and reduces resource damage, as well as contributing to the safe and enjoyable completion of trip objectives. To help you get started, download our easily customizable and comprehensive samples of Trip Proposals today!

EDUCATING ADVENTURES LOGO

Step by Step Guide to Planning a School Trip

It's no secret that teaching is a stressful job and you put in countless hours outside the classroom that goes unnoticed by many.

If you've taken on the extra responsibility of planning a school trip, this step-by-step process will make this as simple and pain-free as possible. ‍

‍ Step 1: Decide where to go and what the focus of the trip will be

Understanding the curriculum and educational goals of your trip as well as the interests of your students is the first important step. Shortlist two or three destinations that fit your educational goals while keeping in mind that it needs to be something parents will support, and students will want to go on.

Step 2: Obtain Approval

Getting approval is an essential step, and if you’ve done a thorough job with step one, this will assist you now. Going to your relevant school officials with an outline of what you achieve and a sample itinerary is the best way to do this. You can download one of our sample itineraries here .

Step 3: Set a Budget

Once approval has been granted request a quote for the itinerary that you have selected, keeping in mind that you can make changes to it to suit your school’s individual interests. To get the most accurate quote, have approximate dates ready and your best guess at teacher and student numbers. It makes sense to add a buffer to the price you quote to parents as numbers can unexpectedly change. ‍

Step 4: Information Evening

An information evening is the best way to gauge an idea of how many students are going to sign up for this trip. You will be joined either online or in person by our expert team who will be able to answer any question that parents or teachers have. This evening is pivotal to the success of the trip and it is best to right away ask for expressions of interest once the evening is complete. ‍

Step 5: Make the Booking

Once you have a clear idea of the numbers it is time to make the booking. You just let us know you want to proceed and we will make all your bookings from flights, accommodation, attractions, and specified meals. Any information that we need from you will be clearly communicated with timelines outlined so there are no surprises along the way. ‍

Step 7: Risk Assessment

Plan for safety and emergencies by creating a detailed risk management plan. Your school will likely have a template for you to work off and should include such things as emergency contact information, medical needs, and contingency plans.

‍ Step 8: Enjoy Your Trip

While it may not quite be a holiday for you, it is still rewarding to get out of the classroom and get to know your students in a different environment. All the planning and work will be worth it as you see the trip come to life. Also, you’ll have our tour manager with you the whole time, which means less stress and more time to take in the experience.

Blinken to push cease-fire proposal in eighth urgent Mideast trip since war in Gaza erupted

D-day 80th anniversary.

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Antony Blinken will push for a breakthrough on President Joe Biden's cease-fire proposal when he returns to the Middle East next week on his eighth diplomatic mission to the region since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began in October, the State Department said Friday.

Blinken, who is currently in France accompanying Biden on a state visit timed to the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion during World War II, will fly from Paris to Cairo on Monday to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and other officials before traveling to Israel, Jordan and Qatar, the department said. Blinken will then go to Italy to join Biden at the summit for the Group of Seven advanced economies.

In all of his meetings, Blinken “will emphasize the importance of Hamas accepting the proposal on the table, which is nearly identical to one Hamas endorsed last month” and “discuss how the cease-fire proposal would benefit both Israelis and Palestinians,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

“He will underscore that it would alleviate suffering in Gaza, enable a massive surge in humanitarian assistance, and allow Palestinians to return to their neighborhoods,” he said in a statement. “It would unlock the possibility of achieving calm along Israel’s northern border — so both displaced Israeli and Lebanese families can return to their homes — and set the conditions for further integration between Israel and its Arab neighbors, strengthening Israel’s long-term security and improving stability across the region.”

In Israel, Blinken will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials. In Jordan, he will participate in an emergency international conference on aid to Gaza, and in Qatar he will meet with officials who are attempting to mediate the cease-fire deal.

The lightning tour comes as the Biden administration is pushing hard for Hamas to accept a three-phase cease-fire proposal that would include the release of hostages taken from Israel and held by the militant group and potentially pave the way for an end to the conflict and the reconstruction of Gaza.

Biden, Blinken and other U.S. officials have lobbied Arab nations heavily to use what influence they have with Hamas to get it to accept the deal that the president announced last week.

Hamas has said it views the offer “positively” but also called on Israel to declare an explicit commitment to an agreement that includes a permanent cease-fire, a complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, a prisoner exchange and other conditions. But there has been no definitive response so far, and in the absence of one, Blinken will press the case in his meetings in Egypt and Qatar, the two countries with the closest ties to Hamas.

However, Blinken may also have trouble selling the proposal — or at least its implementation — to Netanyahu.

Although the deal has been described as an Israeli initiative, some members of Netanyahu's far-right coalition government are strongly opposed to it. And, Netanyahu himself has expressed skepticism, saying what has been presented publicly is not accurate and rejecting calls for Israel to cease all fighting until Hamas is eradicated.

Despite Blinken's roughly once-a-month visits to the region since the war began following Hamas' deadly attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, the conflict has ground on with more than 36,000 Palestinians killed in eight months of Israeli bombardments and ground offensives in Gaza, according to the Health Ministry , which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

The war has largely cut off the flow of food, medicine and other supplies to Palestinians, who are facing widespread hunger . United Nations agencies say over 1 million in Gaza could experience the highest level of starvation by mid-July.

As the crisis has escalated, Israel has come under increasingly harsh international criticism for its actions and just this week has been excoriated for airstrikes in Gaza that have reportedly killed dozens of civilians. On Friday, Israeli strikes killed at least 18 people, including children, just a day after 33 were killed at a United Nations-run school sheltering displaced Palestinian families, health officials said.

Since mid-October, Blinken has shuttled between Israel and its Arab and Muslim neighbors, trying to boost aid to civilians in Gaza, prevent the conflict from spreading throughout the region and build support for plans for the reconstruction and governance of postwar Gaza — all while vocally backing Israel’s right to defend itself.

Israel’s offensive in Gaza has heightened political pressure in the U.S., with pro-Palestinian protests springing up at universities and resulting pushback from some who say the demonstrations have veered into antisemitism.

What Is a Book Proposal?

A book proposal is a business document that aims to appeal to publishers or publishing houses to invest in a book. This proposal letter provides arguments and a summary that details why the book is worth their investment. It also includes a marketing business plan and strategies on how to ensure profitability.

How to Compose an Enticing Book Proposal

If you are in the process of writing a nonfiction book and you are planning to look for potential investors, it is advisable to take a break. You should give it a rest and start writing another document instead. Before completing your book, you should go ahead and look for publishers who would be willing to take a risk and invest in your book. That way, you can still make adjustments based on the opinions of the publisher.

1. Write a Compelling Cover Letter

A proposal cover letter delivers the first blow to your clients in negotiating a proposal. This one-page document plays a considerable role in your whole book proposal. In this letter, you should introduce your hook and your book. You should write a statement that would engage the publishers to continue reading. After that, you can go ahead and offer an overview of your book.

2. Devise a Short Biography

If your successful with the first page of your business proposal , the next thing the prospective clients would want to know is essential information about you. That said, you should devise a short biography of yourself. This segment is equivalent to a project portfolio in other business proposals. It is where you highlight your previous works and prove your capabilities. If they have any doubts about whether you can walk the talk in your proposal document, this is the part where you should erase them.

3. Outline the Table of Contents

As they flip the page, the next segment they should see is the table of contents of the book you are proposing. List the chapter titles as well as include a short description for each of them. In your summary writing , you should explain how each chapter is related to the next. That way, the flow of the content of your book will be more comprehensive for the readers of your proposal. In addition, you should also choose one chapter that you would present fully. You should choose the best chapter in your opinion as your sample chapter.

4. Include an Analysis of Essential Elements

There plenty of others that are just as necessary aside from the segments mentioned above. That said, these documents include competitive analysis and also a target market analysis. The next ones are your book marketing plan , project timeline, and budget plan. These parts are all crucial for the business negotiation of your book. The publishers will pay a lot of attention to these elements.

How long does it take to write a book proposal?

If you do not have a deadline, then you can go ahead take your time. Most authors write their book proposals in months. Proposal writing is a lengthy process, it involves twenty to fifty or maybe even more pages. Do not rush making your proposal letter. Ensure that each segment is well-crafted. Also, you should conduct your business analysis accordingly.

What are the different kinds of nonfiction books?

There are numerous types of nonfiction books. There is always a nonfiction book for you, whether you are into a children’s book or an instruction manual. Some nonfiction books include biographies, autobiographies, travel journals , memoir, journals, thesaurus, and almanac. There are also colorful nonfiction picture books featuring true stories, and others present facts about science and various fascinating academic topics.

What is a fiction proposal?

A fiction proposal is a counterpart for proposal letters for nonfiction. When you say book proposals, people automatically incorporate them with nonfiction books. It is because publishers rarely demand a proposal document for fiction novels. That said, people called book proposals for a fictional story a fiction proposal. Despite having a slightly different name, they include similar elements and formatting.

Various business ventures require writing several documents. This statement means, in writing your book, it is additional paperwork on top of another paperwork. Despite that, you have an advantage. You write a thousand words every day. Writing more can be a little easier for you. If you craft your book proposal well enough, maybe in the future other authors will be writing about you.

This Moscow Circus School Proposal is Composed of a Series of Domes and Undulating Waves

This Moscow Circus School Proposal is Composed of a Series of Domes and Undulating Waves - Image 1 of 10

  • Written by Lauren Crockett

A team comprised of Chinese architects Hang Guo and Shanshan Li have used the history of theatre and circus to drive their proposal for a new Moscow Circus School. The design, dubbed Dome and Circus , was developed for the recent Architectural Competition Concours d'Architecture (AC-CA) competition , which encouraged participants to consider the ways in which their design could generate discussion about the relationship between architecture and culture.

Dome and Circus respond to this criteria by reinterpreting ancient theatrical spaces, such as the Pantheon or ancient Greek outdoor theatres, into a contemporary cultural arena. The "theme and prototype" of the project became the dome, and it is deployed across the project in "multiple and continuous" ways.

By interlacing the once separate domes, a sequence of spaces was created with blurred boundaries to one another. Above the domes lies a space described by the competition team as resembling "undulating waves," accommodating a vibrant mix of public program.

The roof plane is based upon the continuous Greek outdoor theatre and references the Moscow Hermitage Garden, a popular cultural destination nearby. The spaces between each of the demarcated programmatic zones are filled "rhythmically" with spheres, which have the dual function of public space and structure.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Vladimir Putin repeats warning he could send weapons to adversaries of the West

Thank you for reading.

We will be back soon with more updates from the war in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin has said he does not see the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons as set out in Russia's nuclear doctrine - but added he could not rule out a change to the doctrine.

"We have a nuclear doctrine which states that the use of nuclear arms is possible in an exceptional case, when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country is threatened," he told the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"But the doctrine can be changed.

"The same applies to nuclear tests. We will carry out tests if needed, but so far there is no such need."

Russia could send weapons to adversaries of the West, Vladimir Putin has warned for a second time.

The Russian president repeated the warning from earlier this week during the St Petersburg Economic Forum.

He did not say what countries or entities he was referring to, and he stressed that Moscow is not doing it currently.

"If they supply (weapons) to the combat zone and call for using these weapons against our territory, why don't we have the right to do the same?" he told the crowds.

"But I'm not ready to say that we will be doing it tomorrow, either."

On Wednesday, Putin told international journalists that Russia could provide long-range weapons to others to strike Western targets in response to NATO allies allowing Ukraine to use their arms to attack Russian territory.

He also reaffirmed Moscow's readiness to use nuclear weapons if it sees a threat to its sovereignty.

Joe Biden has apologised to Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the recent delay in approving new US aid for Ukraine.

Last month, following months of political disagreements, the Senate passed $95bn (£76.2bn) in war aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan .

"I apologise for those weeks of not knowing," the US president said.

"Some of our very conservative members [of Congress] were holding it up.

"But we got it done, finally. We're still in - completely, totally."

The Ukrainian president thanked his counterpart for American assistance.

"It's very important that you stay with us," he said.

"It's very important that in this unity, the United States of America, all American people stay with Ukraine, like it was during World War Two - how the United States helped to save human lives, to save Europe."

The two men were speaking in Paris, the day after D-Day commemorations in Normandy.

Russia needs to boost its use of non-Western currencies, Vladimir Putin said as he addressed the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He also said his country needs to reduce imports while calling for a major expansion of its domestic financial markets.

Trade with Asia is soaring, he told delegates, adding that almost two fifths of Russian external trade is now in roubles.

The share conducted in US dollars, euros and other Western currencies has declined.

Russia will try to boost the share of settlements conducted in the currencies of BRICS countries - which include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, Mr Putin said.

"Last year, the share of payments for Russian exports in the so–called 'toxic' currencies of unfriendly states halved, while the share of the rouble in export and import transactions is growing - it is approaching 40% today," the president said.

Russia has referred to nations that imposed sanctions on it as "unfriendly".

The session begins with an address by the Russian president.

Vladimir Putin says there is a race among world powers to establish sovereignty.

He speaks of the need for countries to both establish partnerships and also to look internally to tackle challenges presented by the current global economic landscape.

Despite all the "obstacles and illegitimate sanctions", Russia remains one of the world's economic leaders, he says.

He adds that "friendly countries" - those that have not joined sanctions against Moscow - account for three quarters of Russia's mutual trade turnover, and praises them for that.

Countries including India and China have strengthened economic ties since Mr Putin launched his war in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin has taken to the stage in St Petersburg to address the International Economic Forum there.

He's joined by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwais and Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Catacora.

Chairing the session is Sergey Karaganov - a Russian political scientist.

We'll bring you any key lines here in this live blog.

A T-shirt is on sale at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum printed with a phrase attributed to Vladimir Putin, Sky News has discovered.

"If a fight is inevitable, throw the first punch," it says.

The Russian president reportedly said it in 2015.

He apparently explained that it was something he had learned while growing up on the streets of Leningrad - a former name of St Petersburg.

The Russian defence ministry has accused Ukraine of injuring 20 people, including children, in a missile attack on the Russian-controlled eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk, using US-supplied ATACMS missiles.

Four of five missiles were shot down by air defence systems, the ministry said in a statement.

However, one of the missiles damaged two residential apartment blocks, it added, claiming it was deliberate.

Sky News is unable to verify the allegations.

There has been no immediate comment from Ukraine.

The European Commission supports starting EU accession talks with Ukraine, the country's prime minister has said.

Denys Shmyhal said the commission had confirmed in a report that Kyiv had fulfilled the remaining steps required to start negotiations.

"Now we expect our European partners to take the next step - to start negotiations on European Union membership this month," Mr Shmyhal said on Telegram.

Earlier (7.43am post) we reported that the commission was reportedly ready to recommend that accession talks get underway.

It is part of an attempt to signal support for Kyiv before Hungary takes over the rotating presidency of the EU next month, the Financial Times reported.

The EU announced earlier this year that it was sending an additional £42bn in aid to Ukraine - but only after  weeks of resistance from Hungary , which reportedly has concerns about minority rights in Ukraine.
