Important information.
The VIRGINIA SAFARI PARK, a 180-acre drive-through zoo located in Natural Bridge, VA, is NOT associated with the Natural Bridge Zoo, which is also located in Natural Bridge.
Unfortunately, with the recent legal issues and press coverage surrounding the Natural Bridge Zoo we have found it necessary to post this clarification. We have been contacted by many sources that have inadvertently confused the two zoos.
Our official website is www.virginiasafaripark.com. Please beware of copycat imitations. Again, the VIRGINIA SAFARI PARK is NOT associated with the Natural Bridge Zoo and never has been.

Great to have a zoo around the area. That stands out. with how nice they are to their animals and the variety of animals. I am a big fan of this place lot better than driving really far to go to a mediocre Zoo when there is an awesome one right in town.

Safari Drive-Thru
View wild animals from the comfort of your own vehicle in the most natural environment possible!
Take a drive on the wild side! In the safari, you'll be able to see animals roam naturally over 350 acres.
The animals are free to run, play, jump, frolic, and swim as they wish! Drive your vehicle over three miles of maintained gravel road and feed the animals through your windows! But don't be in a hurry. The animals often block your path...or lay flat-out in the sun...the choice is theirs! If you miss any animals or want to take a snack break, make another drive-through. You can Safari Again on the same day as your visit.
Not only are our animals free to roam, but they follow their instincts. You'll see the animals as you've never seen them before. You'll see males spar and challenge each other for the attention of the females. You may see mothers and babies. Sometimes visitors are lucky enough to observe a birth in progress and watch as the baby takes its first steps!
Animal Interaction Is the Focus
We encourage interaction by allowing visitors to feed the animals with our specialty grain mixture. Our staff is dedicated to helping guests appreciate our animals in the beautiful and natural setting of Alabama.
The experience of having a huge camel or deer only inches away, feeding from your bucket, is virtually impossible to describe. This unique animal encounter park appeals to all ages and is quickly becoming one of the region's top attractions.

Horrifying last moments of mum eaten alive by safari park tiger after coming to her daughter's rescue
Terrifying footage shows the moment a siberian tiger dragged her daughter away.
Jess Battison
Warning: This article contains content which some readers may find distressing.
The horrifying last moments of a mum were caught on camera as she went to save her daughter.
Back in 2016, the woman was driving through Beijing ’s Badaling Wildlife World with her family. As is the case with plenty of the safari-style experiences we have here in the UK , visitors get to drive their own cars around the park.
But guests are not allowed to get out of their vehicle in certain enclosures – because of course while it might be safe to be protected by the four walls of a car, just strolling round an animal’ s home is rather risky.
So, the woman signed an agreement before entering the Chinese park which stated she would not get out of her vehicle.
However, tragic footage shows the woman, whose last name is Zhao, getting out of a car and being dragged by a Siberian tiger.
She claimed she believed the document she signed was some kind of registration to enter – accusing the ticket taker of not explaining it properly.
Zhao said that as they were driving round, she started feeling carsick so decided to get out of the car.
In the video, she can be seen walking around to the other side of the family vehicle, seemingly checking if she was holding up traffic.
But then, she quickly turns around as one of the Siberian tigers leaps towards her.
Zhao tried to move away but she couldn’t match the animal’s speed which pulled her to the ground and dragged her away.
Her family were quick to run to her help, as her mum tried to save her. And unfortunately, this led to the woman being attacked by another tiger and being killed as it went to eat her alive.
After the tragedy, the Yanqing district government confirmed there had been an incident at Badaling Wildlife World.
It was also added that an injured person, assumed to be Zhao, was receiving treatment.
She later filed a lawsuit against the Beijing park with the claim she hadn’t been properly informed of the dangers and that a nearby park official had failed to come to the family’s rescue.
But authorities in the Yanqing District later published a report stating it was not an ‘industry security accident’. AKA, the park was not responsible.
Instead, it was stated that this fatal attack occurred due to the visitors involved not following the wildlife park’s rules for guests.

Eaten Alive: Chilling Last Moments of Mum Savagely Mauled by Safari Park Tiger as Family Watch in Horror
A video of a woman being brutally mauled by a tiger attack in a Chinese safari park is making its rounds on the internet.
Knewz.com has learned that the footage depicts the first of two connected attacks that occurred almost simultaneously–the second resulted in a fatality.
The incident occurred in Beijing’s Badaling Wildlife Park when a woman exited a vehicle in an area frequented by tigers.
As the video continues to roll it shows a large silhouette swiftly taking hold of a woman named Mei and dragging her out of the frame.
The woman’s mother, Mrs Zhao, saw what was happening and climbed out of the same vehicle intent upon helping her daughter–only to be attacked by a different tiger.
Unlike with Mei, the park rangers’ interventions were futile and Mrs Zhao succumbed to the giant cat’s ferocity.
Mei’s husband exited the vehicle at the same time as his mother-in-law and was able to carry Mei out of harm's way without coming to any harm himself.
Following the incident, Mei and her husband filed a lawsuit against the park, suing them for the equivalent of $286,350.
Despite Mei’s loss, she has been widely criticized for exiting the vehicle in the first place.
In response to a documentary of the incident posted on YouTube by Final Affliction , one netizen wrote:
“I'll never understand how this. [One can] sue the zoo for your own negligence. You are in a tiger exhibit [...] which is one of the deadliest animals on the planet. Your car is protecting you from them and you got out. The zoo didn't force you to…”
Said zoo, according to The Beijinger , takes pride in not caging their animals and prefers letting them roam as freely as possible.
As a nod to the latter, another critic remarked: “I actually respect the fact that the zoo doesn’t [put] the animals up in small enclosures. Unfortunately, stupid people threaten to ruin all good things.”
While there may be an overwhelming sentiment that Mei is to blame for the incident, Badaling Wildlife Park has a reputation for its humans getting injured or killed.
According to a report by the Los Angeles Times , in 2014, a park ranger was fatally attacked by a tiger. In the same year, another park staffer was trampled to death by an elephant .
Two years prior, a female visitor was squatting on the side of the road urinating when she was attacked by a tiger. Fortunately for her, she survived the mauling.
In 2009 three men were returning from an excursion on the Great Wall and decided to take a shortcut through the park. They hopped the boundary fence, were attacked by tigers, and one of them (an 18-year-old) paid for the infraction with his life.
These issues are not limited to the Beijing wildlife facility or even China. In 2023 Knewz.com reported on a tourist being pinned to the ground by an angry Bison at Yellowstone National Park.
The incident repeated itself in 2024 when another Bison charged a man for allegedly kicking it. Forty-year-old Clarence Yoder of Idaho Falls, who happened to be drunk at the time of the incident, sustained minor injuries.
He was rushed to a local medical facility before being locked up at the Gallatin County Detention Center.
