Legendary rock band Pearl Jam have today made two big announcements: The imminent release of a new album, and a massive Australian stadium tour booked for later this year.

The Eddie Vedder-led band will release their twelfth studio album, titled Dark Matter, on April 19.

And in November, the Dark Matter World Tour will visit Australia and New Zealand, as part of a larger global jaunt that will see the band visit 25 cities in nine countries.

Frontman Vedder gushed about the band’s new album during a recent Grammys week listening party in Los Angeles. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work,” he said.

“No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”

Tickets for Pearl Jam’s tour will be available two ways, the first for members of Pearl Jam’s official fan club:

1. A Ten Club members-only presale will be held through Ticketmaster Request for eligible members. Only paid Ten Club members active as of Monday, February 12 are eligible to participate in this presale. More info at pearljam.com

2. Fans can register for a chance to participate in the Dark Matter World Tour 2024 registration sale at shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/pearl-jam by this Sunday, February 18 at 11:59PM local time. This will be the only way for fans to participate in the onsale. Registration does not guarantee access to the sale.

NEWS: Eddie Vedder Announces Australian Tour

(AUSTRALIA) Chugg Entertainment are thrilled to confirm that Pearl Jam’s notorious lead singer, Eddie Vedder, will be embarking on a long-awaited solo tour this coming February. Vedder will return to the stage in solo mode for a string of extraordinarily special theatre shows; live and intimate.

The tour will begin with two dates at Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Friday 7 th and Saturday 8 th February, Sydney’s State Theatre on Tuesday 11 th February and a performance at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 13 th February, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Sunday 16 th and Tuesday 18 th February, and the QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane on Saturday 22 nd and Sunday 23 rd February.

Stepping out of his renowned role as the famed front-man of Pearl Jam has been more than well received by his Australian fans following the monumental response to his previous tour in early 2011.  When shows were announced, fans across the country erupted at the news and within hours of tickets going on sale to the public, more than ten theatre shows across the country were completely sold out leaving a plethora of fans empty handed and wanting more.

The staggering shows left fans and reviewers enthralled, with the Sydney Morning Herald citing of his State Theatre show that “he received ample love for his vulnerability” while “an adoring crowd hung off his every note.”

Following his last Australian tour, Vedder embarked on another chapter with the release of his second solo studio album, Ukulele Songs . Yet another critically acclaimed project described by Drowned In Sound as and album “brimming with integrity and enthusiasm and, most importantly, boasting great tunes.”

Bringing to the stage a swathe of songs from his solo records, as well as some Pearl Jam favourites, there can be no doubt that yet again, his Australian audience will stop in their tracks when Eddie Vedder takes the stage.  These enchanting shows are not to be missed.

Tuesday 17th July. The O2, London. Pearl Jam. So here we are at the rescheduled date after the recent cancelled gig in June. I probably said most of what I wanted to say in my review from last month https://garyw66.weebly.com/blog/rockin-in-the-free-world-with-pearl-jam

All that said this time I was down on the floor this time and it certainly added to the atmosphere and you could appreciate the light show too. Making up for the cancelled gig tonight we are treated to a 33 song near three hour set, encore upon encore including some great covers from the likes of Petty, The Who and Dylan.

It’s a breathless night and tonight Pearl Jam only go to confirm that they are one of the great live rock acts around. I don’t need to say anymore. Another great night.

Great setlist, perfect weather, fitting venue and they guys from Pearl Jam so great, energetic and charismatic as always. They seem to really love to play live for their crowd. Only negative thing was due to se fanatic Ten-Club member group (aparently US-americans, aprox. 20-25 persons) who were very hostile towarda people who approched the front rows, threatening people in group and being very disgusting while appearing to be very "devote" fans. Sasly security didn’t seem to notice or, if they did, didn’t care. That just left a bit of bitterness since it was infuriating to see how they were behaving and being aggresive and trying to intimidate people in a band‘s concert who otherwise represent the whole opposite of that group‘s behavior.

Other than that, it was an awesome, long and unforgettable show.

WHAT.A.SHOW.I had high expectations for this show and they delivered at such a level that I couldn't explain. The crowd sang every song lyric, everyone was on their feet during the entire show, people were dancing, bouncing, and having a wonderful time. It had such an old school vibe because there were handful of people using their phones. Young and older audience were all into the show and Pearl Jam's performance. It was beautiful. Their solos were solid. Plus, the show was in Miami and Chris Bosh, Pat Riley, and D-Wade were all in attendance. People who had listened to a few songs by Pearl Jam instantly fell in love. They played a tribute to veterans and a Pink Floyd cover, which I thought was amazing. This will live with me forever.

Are Pearl Jam About To Announce An Aussie Tour?

It would mark their first shows Down Under since Big Day Out's final run in 2014.

Seattle rockers Pearl Jam may finally be returning to Australia for a tour — if their latest social media post is anything to go by.

On Wednesday (Dec. 20), Pearl Jam shared a video performing Do The Evolution at their 1998 show at Melbourne Park along with the telling caption, “Are you koala-fied for our ticket presales? Not a current member? Hop to it, mate! 🐨🦘🇦🇺 #TenDaysOfPJ”

Of course, fans were quick to hit the comments to suggest that an Aussie tour announcement must be imminent.

“So is this your way of saying they're FINALLY coming back to Australia!?!?” asked one eager fan, while another added, “This would be the best Christmas gift! An Australian tour!!!!”

While nothing is official yet, eagle-eyed fans on the band’s subreddit have suggested that Pearl Jam’s Australian and New Zealand shows will take place from November 8 to 10 in Auckland, before heading to Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne from November 13 to 23.

The news would undoubtedly be huge, considering the last time that Pearl Jam played in Australia was during the final Big Day Out run back in 2014 . 

Back in February 2021, Eddie Vedder gave Australian fans some hope as he hinted at the band's long-awaited return Down Under. 

The US artist called in as a guest on NOVA's Chrissie, Sam & Browny show as part of their 'Celebrity Chase' segment, with Vedder saying that an Australian tour could be likely post-COVID. 

"Any hope of seeing Pearl Jam [here] in the next 18 months, Ed?" asked co-host Browny. 

"You know, actually because of the circumstance and because of the way you handled it," responded Vedder, "in some ways, I could say with confidence it could be the first place we play."

After Animal, Ed, appearing to focus on someone specific in the crowd, says to not be pointing down on someone else or the show will stop, reminding the crowd to take care of themselves and to mind their manners, leading into…Mind Your Manners. Mike has a unique solo on Lightning Bolt. This show was full of dedications, the first of which is a toast to some of the other bands playing on the same bill, Arcade Fire and Primus. Someone is holding up a copy of Ten in the crowd, so Ed introduces Deep by saying this is “the opposite of shallow.” Prior to Unthought Known, he dedicates the song to a young man he met who went by Edwin IV, mentioning he had never met an Ed IV, only Ed III, including himself. After Jeremy, he mentions a school shooting that occurred in Australia several years ago, and the country taking quick steps to put laws in place to prevent such a tragedy from occurring again, very different than in the U.S. Satan’s Bed sounds great, with the band locked in. Staccato, harmonic intro to RVM, and the jam soars, Stone and Jeff playing well together, and Ed adds the “forgive/forget” lines.

After the break, Ed brings a couple on stage, toasting their love as an example of what love should be, and plays a tender, acoustic Throw Your Arms Around Me. Then, he leads the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to Boom, leading into a long Crazy Mary, with Mike and Boom dueling back and forth playfully. Mike lets it all go on the Black solo, and after a short We Belong Together tag, Ed adds “…nothing like young love…” Win Butler (Arcade Fire) joins for Rockin’ to close out the night.

Second to last Big Day Out show features seven tour debuts, and some rarities thrown in that had not been as prevalent in the earlier shows on this leg. The band opens again at full throttle from the get go, with Why Go opening, just like Melbourne, and the earliest Blood has appeared on a setlist for quite some time. Ed addresses the hot weather, saying “I’m not quite sure how you can be in the part of the continent that’s closest to the Antarctic and still have it be this fucking hot.” In a nod to the early days, Ed says “We’re in shorts and it’s not out of nostalgia, it’s because it’s really fucking hot.” Small Town is dedicated to the people at the front who had arrived very early in the day. Following Got Some, Ed describes the next one as “a Father’s Day card if your dad is a fucking asshole,” and My Father’s Son is played for only the 4th time. Ed needs to catch his breath afterward so he calls on Mike to “entertain” the crowd with Van Halen’s “Eruption” before Even Flow. Sirens is dedicated to the Seattle Seahawks, who are playing in the Super Bowl two days later. Daughter features the first ever Australian appearance of the “It’s O.K.” tag, and Ed and the crowd can’t seem to get on the same page. Prior to Given to Fly, Ed references the constant stream of planes flying over the event on their way into Adelaide Airport. Ed refers to World Wide Suicide as a song that used to be about war, but now is about climate change, yet this would be the last time they would play it to date. After a very quick encore break, Ed treats the crowd to an “Aussie song,”  the Hunters and Collectors classic Throw Your Arms Around Me. Low Light and Nothingman were listed on the setlist to start the encore but not played. Ed introduces Mark Arm as “one of the greats, if not the greatest” before a screeching Kick out the Jams. Mike closes out the show with Little Wing after a spirited Ledbetter.

Getaway is “for all the fucked up missionaries who may have fucked up some of the planet.” Plenty of early dedications, including In Hiding to surfer Mark Richards, who helped with the set list, and Even Flow to a little Aussie girl “whose initials are in the beginning of this song.” Stone has a stunning lead during the quiet part of Insignificance. Ed thanks and shouts out all the other bands that played the festival that day, and the ode to vinyl duo follows, he introduces Let The Records Play with:

“this is a song for records….not breaking records, but making records…listening to them at loud volumes, and something that gets you through the bad days and lets you know there will be good days.”

Mike ends the song with a searing, face-melting solo. Ed struggles with lyrics for Spin The Black Circle, but like always, effortlessly finds his way back. Stone gets melodic during the RVM jam before Matt thunders in with a tom-heavy rhythm. After the break, he quotes the great Australian poet laureate/singer, Bon Scott of AC/DC, saying “it’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock ‘n’ roll.” Someone hands Ed a koozie for his wine. As Boom starts Chloe Dancer, Ed says this one is “for all our old friends, for some of the friends that are still here, but only because they’re in here,” pointing to his chest. He then thanks Stone and Jeff, always a poignant moment, and talks about if he were to come to Australia, “if we had a campfire, I would think they would play this song,” leading to a solo electric Throw Your Arms Around Me, played for the first time since 2009! Better Man stretches out to 10 ½ minutes, with a long jam, a call and response, and Ed getting theatrical with the Save It For Later lyrics, adding:

“…don’t be like every other FUCKING THING on this PLANET, that always FUCKING lets me down…”

It’s all Ten-era hits to open encore 2, including a nod to Andy Wood during Black. Ed prefaces Kick Out the Jams by saying:

“I know a couple of other people who aren’t going home either…from Mudhoney, people we look up to, we follow in their path, but ladies and gentlemen, on guitar, Mr. Steve Turner…and on vocals, Mr. Mark Arm!”

Arm and Turner stay out for Rockin’ in the Free World, a high-energy closer to a high-energy night.

After Save You, Ed sings “I’m dreaming of a Big Day Out” to the tune of “White Christmas.” False start on Got Some, and Ed teases the band, saying “I thought we were saving that one for Sydney,” before restarting the Backspacer rocker. Mind Your Manners is dedicated to the children at the show (Ed’s family is side stage). Melbourne had been beset with a heatwave in the weeks leading up to the show, but show day dawned with drenching rain soaking the venue. The rain persisted until mid-afternoon before clearing to a beautiful evening, Ed stating “this is perfect…here’s to the weatherman.” He adds “it seems we have more friends in Melbourne than we do in Seattle,” to cheers from the crowd, and to be on a bill with Mudhoney and the Cosmic Psychos is a “dream come true.” Setting Forth segues straight into a blistering version of Corduroy. During the intro of Lightning Bolt, Ed says “look at the sun,” which was setting directly on the horizon in front of the stage. Even Flow is dedicated to Ross Knight, lead singer of the Cosmic Psychos. After the break, Pendulum is played for the first time as a non-show opener. Matt’s drumming at the end is a highlight. Due to the looming curfew, Black is scratched from encore 2, with a raucous Kick Out the Jams, featuring Mark Arm, kicking things off instead. Alive closes a show for the first time since 2010, and Ed tells the crowd to “have a bitchin’ summer” as he leaves the stage.

The song starts and as it’s about to kick in, he growls “…MAN…” Given to Fly has a “…made it to the Gold Coast…” lyric change. Mike solos for nearly 3 minutes on Even Flow, fluid and expressive, playing behind his head and walking the circle. Stone accents the last half of Lukin with a one-note mini solo. RVM is a showcase for Matt Cameron from start to finish. Beautiful rendition of Pink Floyd’s Mother in the encore, and Sad makes its 2014 debut. Ed says if anyone wants to smoke, you should go see Snoop Lion (performing at the same time on another stage). Following Sad, Ed mentions surfers and invites Mick Fanning, a local world-renowned surfer, on stage to have a sip of his wine, then brings out another famous Aussie surfer Mark Occilupo aka “Occy,” who’s standing on the side of the stage, and dedicates Better Man to them. As the song starts, he implores the crowd to “…sing it for me, make me look good,” and they oblige. Both surfers join in, throwing tambourines and drinking wine, and the song stretches out to 8 ½ minutes. Porch intro is bouncy and upbeat, Ed’s in a great mood and swinging around on an orb for half the song. Mike jumps down into the front barrier for Alive, leaning in and letting the crowd reach out for him. Quick transition from Alive to Rockin’, Ed says “…hope we don’t get in trouble for this one…” as Rockin’ starts.

Pearl Jam continues to try to protect fans’ access to fairly priced tickets by providing the majority of tickets to its Ten Club members where possible and selling approximately 10% of tickets through ‘PJ Premium’ at the market rate to offset increased costs. To ensure fans get their tickets as intended, Pearl Jam has decided that tickets to all Australian shows will not be transferable until 48 hours prior to the event dates. Fans that cannot use their tickets are welcome to sell them via Ticketmaster at the price originally paid, with no additional fees for the seller or buyer.

*Eligibility: Only paid Ten Club members active as of Monday, February 12 are eligible to participate in this presale. To participate in the Ten Club Members-Only Presale , you must place your ticket request by Friday, February 16 at 3 pm GMT.

To participate in the Registration Sale, you must register by Sunday, February 18 at 11:59 pm local time.

I have access requirements; how do I register for tickets via Ticketmaster Request?

Accessible seating locations will vary by venue and are typically very limited. When selecting Accessible Seating through Ticketmaster Request, select how many paid accessible seats you would like (up to two per show).

We will then contact you to confirm if you require an additional seat (per paid ticket) for companion/s and what type of accessible seat you need. As noted, accessible seating is limited, so not all requests may be fulfilled.

What are the age restrictions for attending these shows?

Pearl Jam concerts are licensed all ages events. All patrons regardless of age must hold a valid ticket.

Marvel Stadium, GIANTS Stadium and Heritage Stadium are licensed venues, children 12 years and under will not be admitted without a parent or guardian (16 years or older) and must remain with them at all times.

Auckland Stadiums for all-ages events, children under the age of 14 must always be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

What is Ticketmaster Request?

Pearl Jam is using Ticketmaster Request to power this fan club presale. Ticketmaster Request is a simple way to request tickets to popular shows, so you don’t have to compete in a first-come, first-served sale. You can take your time to review the available options and request the right tickets for you. All you need to do is tell us which show(s) you’re interested in, the type of ticket you want and your payment details. If tickets that match your request are available, your card will be charged, and we’ll email you instructions on how to claim them. Note: each show you are confirmed for will be charged separately by Ticketmaster; the charge will appear as Ticketmaster*Pearl Jam.

If you’ve bought tickets via the Ten Club for previous tours in Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand then we have some updates:

• You can now purchase a single Ten Club ticket.  Pairs not required.
• Tickets will be mobile only.
• You may purchase commemorative paper tickets to be delivered after the show date
• Tickets you can no longer use, can be resold for face value using fan to fan exchange

How does the Ten Club ticket request work?

Complete your request in three easy steps. First, tell us what shows and tickets you’re interested in. Then, provide a credit card to complete your ticket request. If your request is fulfilled, your card will be charged, and we’ll email you a confirmation with instructions on how to claim your tickets during the week of February 19.

Note: tickets will not show in your Ticketmaster account until all seating assignments are finalised. We will email you instructions on how to view your tickets in your Ticketmaster account in March (date TBC).

How do I unlock access to the Ten Club ticket request?

Eligible Ten Club members will receive an email from Ten Club with the info. You can also find the presale info on the Ten Club Member News page. The Ten Club ticket request is for eligible Ten Club members only with active membership accounts as of Monday, February 12, 2024.

Is there a cutoff date to become a Ten Club member for the ticket request presale?

Yes. All fans must be a Ten Club paid member, current as of Monday, February 12, 2024. However, all fans can register for the chance to access the sale on February 23 — tap here to get started.

Can I request tickets for more than one city?

Yes. By submitting a ticket request for any show, you are committing to purchase the ticket(s) should your request be fulfilled. For example, if you enter for four shows, it is possible your request can be fulfilled for all four shows in which case your credit card will immediately be charged for tickets to all four shows. However, you can only purchase up to two Ten Club tickets for each individual show.

Why can I no longer prioritise my shows?

Based on fan feedback, the prioritisation tool caused confusion. Only request tickets for shows you can attend.

My wife and I are both Ten Club Members. We both want to request a pair of tickets each. Can we both submit our requests using the same Ticketmaster account?

No, each member must request tickets using their own Ticketmaster account.

How will tickets be determined for Ten Club members?

To level the playing field, ticket requests are fulfilled in a randomised selection process. If selected for seated tickets, tickets will be assigned based on Ten Club seniority.

I need to adjust my Ten Club ticket request, what should I do?

To adjust any part of your request, a new request must be submitted. To do so, tap here to go back to the site, sign in and submit a new request. We’ll only keep the details of your last submission. The deadline to submit a new or updated request is Friday, February 16 2AM.

Can I cancel my Ten Club ticket request?

Yes, requests can be cancelled via the ‘My Requests’ page, located in the menu in the top right corner of the request page. If you place a new request, your previous request will be cancelled automatically. Requests may be cancelled until Friday, February 16 2AM Australia.

What is the maximum number of tickets I can request per show?

Ten Club members may request up to two (2) tickets per show for this tour. When shopping for tickets during the Registration Sale, you may purchase up to six (6) tickets per stadium show.

Do I need to request in pairs?

You may request a single ticket for your show(s). Requesting single tickets does NOT change your odds of being confirmed.

How many shows can I request?

By submitting a ticket request for any show, you are committing to purchase the ticket(s) should your request be confirmed. For example, if you submit a request for three different shows, it is possible your request can be confirmed for all three shows, in which case your credit card will be immediately charged for tickets to all three shows.

Only request the number of shows or tickets you are prepared to pay for.

Ticket confirmations will be sent out on a show-by-show basis beginning Saturday 17 February.

When will you charge my card?

Charges will begin on Friday, 16 February and end on Sunday, 18 February — you will only be charged if your request is fulfilled. To avoid declined transactions, please make sure your card has available funds to cover your maximum total.

As a reminder: Ten Club has secured the majority of tickets for this presale where possible. Your request may be fulfilled for ALL the shows you selected, at which point you will be charged for the maximum total provided in your summary. Each show you are confirmed for will be charged separately by Ticketmaster; the charge will appear as Ticketmaster*Pearl Jam.

Please note a temporary $1 authorisation may be held on your card when you submit your request to ensure the card is active. This charge is immediately reversed; it may take a few days to disappear from your bank.

I submitted duplicate requests by accident. What should I do?

We’ll only keep the details of your last submission. If you’d like to adjust any part of your ticket request, a new request must be submitted. Can I confirm my seats before my credit card is charged? What if I don’t like the tickets I get?

Once your request has been fulfilled, we will immediately process your credit card and assign seats. Reserved Seating is based on Ten Club seniority in the fan club. Please do not request tickets for any cities, shows, or seat preferences that you do not actually wish to purchase.

I’m having trouble getting past the Ticketmaster sign in on the Ten Club ticket request site

If you are successfully entering your email address and password but not allowed to continue, please make sure that your browser settings allow 3rd party cookies. Please be sure to use the link sent to you via email or on the Ten Club Member News page.

If my request is confirmed, how will I get my tickets?

Ticket confirmations will be sent out on a show-by-show basis over the course of three days, beginning Friday, 16 February and ending Sunday, 18 February. Please follow the Ten Club presale timeline for updates. If your request is fulfilled, we will notify you by email and immediately charge the credit card you provided. Additionally, we will email you instructions on how to view your tickets in your Ticketmaster account in March (date TBC). My credit card got charged but I haven’t received an email confirming my order yet, what should I do?

Please search your email for Ticketmaster Request or [email protected] . Also, your credit card company may be slightly ahead. We will notify you by email of your ticket request status and next steps. If you don’t receive your confirmation details within 24 hours, please email Ten Club’s Ticketmaster Support at [email protected] . Please be sure to include your receipt number and the name listed on the request summary.

Is the Ten Club ticket request for Ten Club members only?

If I used the Ten Club ticket request can I also request additional tickets through the sale on February 23?

Yes. Everyone is encouraged to register for the sale on February 23 for an additional opportunity to get tickets. This sale will take place after all confirmed Ten Club requests have been processed. What happens if my Ten Club ticket request is not confirmed?

Are international fans able to request tickets to shows in North America?

Why do I need to register?

Pearl Jam is asking fans to register in advance to help block bots and scalpers, and get more tickets to real people who want to attend the show. While it doesn’t guarantee that all fans who register will get tickets, it can significantly reduce the number of professional resellers who buy tickets to sell for profit.

Can I register for the shows in other countries?

How many tickets can I buy with my code?

You can purchase up to six (6) tickets per show.

Can I register more than once to increase my invitation status?

No. You can only register for the sale once in each country.

If I edit my registration more than once, will I be disqualified?

We only keep the last registration that you submitted.

I received a registration confirmation email, does that mean I will get tickets?

No, the registration confirmation email is simply to inform you that we have received your information. A second email will be sent on the evening of Thursday, February 22 letting you know if you will receive a unique access code to join the sale or if you’ve been placed on the waitlist.

When will I receive an email letting me know if I’ll receive a unique access code or be placed on the waitlist?

Does registering mean I get a sale access code?

What is PJ Premium?

PJ Premium seats are in a variety of preferred locations and account for approximately 10% of ticket inventory per show. They are priced at market rate to offset increased touring costs while also keeping prices low for the rest of the ticket inventory. PJ Premium tickets will be available along with regularly priced tickets during the sale.

Can I transfer my code to someone else?

No, codes are unique to the account they’re issued to and won’t work if shared.

How can I get the seating map in advance?

Seating options vary depending on the event or venue and in some cases may not be available until tickets go on sale. Visit the event page on Ticketmaster to learn more about seating options and maps.

How will I know if I’ve been granted access to the Registration Sale after I’ve been placed on the waitlist?

If selected, you will receive an email with a unique access code and link to the sale. Access to the sale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re sent a unique access code and link, you should join the sale as soon as possible.

I’m a real fan – not a bot or reseller. Why didn’t I get access?

Selection is random and not a measure of how big a fan anybody is. There are typically more fans registered than there are tickets available so a limited number of fans get access to the sale, and others must be placed on the waitlist. The number of fans who receive access depends on the number of tickets currently available — this is done to help create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans.

Pearl Jam have announced 2022 tour dates in support of their eleventh studio album Gigaton . The trek had previously been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now includes additional dates along with the rescheduled itinerary. The band is also set to perform shows across the UK and Europe over the summer, between the North American dates.

Public tickets will be available through Ticketmaster Verified Fan Registration, open now through March 27 at 10pm PT. Verified Fan Onsale begins March 29 at 10am local time.

'I think this is our best work': Pearl Jam announces release date for new album 'Dark Matter' and drops debut single

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pearl Jam band has announced the release date of their upcoming album!

The popular rock band has also released their debut single, which will be included on the album titled 'Dark Matter.'

The project, produced by Andrew Watt, took shape in 2023 during a three-week period at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California, per People .

Vocalist Eddie Vedder is "extremely proud" of the upcoming album. "We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work," said Vedder at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, per a press release.

"No hyperbole, I think this is our best work," he added.

Ament talks about 'Dark Matter'

The new album is a collaborative effort crafted by Watt, Vedder, bass player Jeff Ament, guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron.

"We felt like we were about to make a really important record," said Ament.

"A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up," said Ament about Watt. "He has an encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band and how we wrote songs but as players."

"He could pinpoint things we did on old songs to the point where I was like, ‘What the f**k is he talking about?’ His excitement was contagious. He’s a force."

Ament expressed his gratitude, stating, "I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track. I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with," regarding the producer.

The tour lineup features Deep Sea River and Glen Hansard as opening acts for various North American dates. In the United Kingdom and Europe, The Murder Capital will open, while Richard Ashcroft will do so in Dublin and London.

Additionally, Pixies will join as openers for shows in Australia and New Zealand.

The band is set to embark on a global tour in 2024, spanning nine continents.

The tour kicks off on May 4 in Vancouver and will later visit cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, London, Barcelona, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Boston before concluding its final leg in Sydney in November.

The 'Dark Matter' album is scheduled to be released on April 19th.

On the second night of a two-night stint at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on Wednesday (May 22), Pearl Jam brought the energy with a powerful, no-frills rock show that delivered on the hits.

At one point during the evening, Vedder also paid homage to a host of iconic rock drummers who have died within the last several years. “A couple of years ago, just randomly, some of the greatest of all time, we lost,” said Vedder, who rattled off the names of Foo Fighters ’ Taylor Hawkins , The Rolling Stones ’ Charlie Watts and Rush ’s Neil Peart before segueing into a performance of Dark Matter ‘s title track.

Though new tracks from Dark Matter were sprinkled liberally throughout the performance — including “Wreckage,” “React, Respond” and show-closer “Setting Sun” — Wednesday night’s set understandably leaned heavily into the first decade of Pearl Jam’s career, when the band was at its commercial peak.

Of those early albums, the muscular Ten received a particularly bright spotlight, with Vedder and company busting out renditions of “Even Flow,” “Black,” “Alive” and fan favorite “Jeremy,” which the band performed off the back of the propulsive Yield standout “Do the Evolution” during an extensive encore. Another highlight on Wednesday included the band’s performance of Vitalogy cut “Nothingman,” which served as a particularly potent showcase of Vedder’s still remarkable voice, which retains its clarity and power to move more than three decades on.

The night’s most rousing moment arrived with the second-to-last song, a cover of Neil Young ’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” which boasted special guest appearances from Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith (who Vedder had noted was in the house earlier in the evening); Dark Matter producer Andrew Watt on guitar; and the members of Deep Sea Diver , the Seattle-based indie rock outfit that’s serving as the opening act on the first North American leg of the tour. During the extended performance, the band managed to turn the Forum into a full-on dance party, with Vedder flinging tambourines with abandon into the eager hands of the satiated crowd.
