She is an absolute world star, winner of numerous awards, whether Grammys, Billboard or MTV Awards. Her albums and single hits have sold millions worldwide, and in 2022 she set a unique record in the American charts. In 2024, Taylor Swift will also come to Munich as part of her "The Eras Tour" - for two open-air concerts on 27 and 28 July at the Olympic Stadium.
It was a sensational record that Taylor Swift achieved at the end of October 2022 in the 64-year history of the Billboard Hot 100, when she took all the places from 1 to 10. Ten songs in the Top 10? No one had ever done that before her. It came as little surprise that her newly released album "Midnight" also reached the top position in the album charts at the same time. And the fact that she surpassed Madonna (38) as the most successful top ten artist with a total of 40 hits was another record.
She also achieved a personal premiere in Germany in 2022, when her tenth studio album reached No. 1 in the German longplayer ranking for the first time. Another debut will come in the summer of 2024: for the first time in her career, Taylor Swift, who would be named "Woman of the Decade" by Billboard Women in Music in 2019, will play in Munich. After having to cancel her concert in the Olympic Hall, once scheduled for March 2011, due to scheduling conflicts, she will now come under the tent roof for a double open air - at two performances on 27 and 28 July. Taylor Swift live in the stadium - guaranteed to be a highlight of the Munich summer of 2024.

Superstar on The Eras Tour - Thousands of Swifties celebrate in Munich
Taylor Swift: Everything about the concerts in the Olympic Stadium
No pop star has won as many awards and set as many records in recent years as Taylor Swift. Why this is the case could also be seen at the two shows on July 27 and 28, 2024 in Munich's Olympic Stadium and on the Olympiaberg: thousands of Swifties celebrated together here over the weekend.

Taylor Swift played two shows in the Olympic Stadium
Taylor Swift had long been a superstar in the USA before she hit the top of the charts in Germany for the first time in 2022 with her album “Midnights”. And she is now on the road with these tracks and songs from her new album “The Tortured Poets Department” after the originally planned tour had to be postponed due to coronavirus.
Swift is performing 152 shows worldwide on her “The Eras” tour, two of them in Munich. Thousands of “Swifties”, as the superstar's fans are known, will then create a great atmosphere in the Olympic Park.
By the way: at a concert in Seattle, seismographs registered earth tremors, especially during the songs “Shake It Off”, “Love Story”, “Bad Blood” and “Anti-Hero”, so euphoric were the fans at this performance. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Olympic Stadium...

Olympiaberg fuller than ever: Fans celebrate even without tickets
Taylor Swift didn't just rock the Munich Olympic Stadium this weekend: thousands of Swifties also sang, danced and applauded to Taylor's songs on the Olympiaberg. In addition to the more than 70,000 fans in the stadium, around 40,000 people were said to have been there on the Olympiaberg and in the park on both evenings. The atmosphere remained extremely peaceful, however, and the Munich police also drew a very positive conclusion.

After the end of the second concert, another highlight awaited the "Swifties" on Sunday evening in the Olympic Park: Saxophonist Andre Schnura, who recently delighted millions of fans with his videos during the European Football Championship, made a spontaneous appearance in the Olympic Park. And of course he also sang Taylor Swift's songs on his saxophone:

40,000 Taylor Swift fans got themselves a free Eras Tour show in Munich as 'Taylor-gating' hit a new level
- More than 40,000 Taylor Swift fans listened to an Eras Tour show from outside a venue in Munich.
- The trend, known as "Taylor-gating," has been popular since Taylor Swift began the tour last year.
- Unlike in other cities, gathering was encouraged and facilitated by local authorities and the venue.
Thousands of people who couldn't score tickets to a Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show in Munich enjoyed the concert from a hill nearby.
German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that local police had estimated that around 40,000 people gathered on the Olympic Hill overlooking Munich's Olympiastadion on Saturday.
Inside the stadium, Swift performed her set to 74,000 fans.
While speaking to the crowd at the beginning of the concert, the Grammy-winning artist acknowledged the extra attendees outside the stadium.
"We've got people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there," Swift said, per footage circulating on X .
"I just feel so incredibly welcome," she added.
The phenomenon of gathering outside Swift's concerts, known as "Taylor-gating," emerged soon after the star began touring with her blockbuster Eras Tour in the US last year.
Fans assemble in streets, parks, and parking lots near concert venues to sing along and dance to their favorite song blasting from the stadium speakers.
While some cities have discouraged fans from loitering outside venues without tickets, LBC reported that toilets and drinks stations were set up in the park on the hill ahead of the Munich show.
A clip shared on social media showed the hills outside the stadium teeming with people before the stadium had filled.

According to the Olympiapark website , the Olympic Hill offers a "magnificent view of the Olympic Park" and has "been a popular destination for enjoying free open-air concerts" for decades.
It added that the hill can be used by "all those who want to listen to the world stars of rock and pop for free from their picnic blanket."
A representative for the show's venue did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, which was sent outside regular hours.

“I’ve been watching so many videos of the crowds out there fully participating in the show from afar, all that joy,” Swift added. “I’m feeling really grateful for the unexpected memories this tour has created. We have 11 shows left on the European leg of the tour, kicking off *August* with 3 shows in Warsaw!”
That accent on “August” is a nod to the 14-time Grammy winner’s beloved Folklore song named after the month. Fans online have already started celebrating the approach of “August” season, and the song — which has so far peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 — has been known to receive a boost in streams during the eighth month of the year.
As Swift mentioned, her European Eras dates are coming to an end soon, with just three stops left in Warsaw, Vienna and London. In October, she’ll swing back to North America for final laps through the U.S. and Canada before closing out the trek for good in December.

These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Taylor Swift Performed This Song Live for the First Time Ever at 2nd Munich Eras Tour Show

Taylor Swift gave fans an Eras Tour performance to remember during her final show in Munich!
At her concert in the German city on Sunday, July 28, the 34-year-old superstar performed a song live for the very first time during the secret songs segment of the night.
During the segment, Swift played a medley of "I Don’t Wanna Live Forever," her duet with Zayn Malik from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, along with the Tortured Poets Department anthology song "imgonnagetyouback" on guitar.
She then switched over to her piano and performed a mash-up of "loml" from TTPD and the Fearless (Taylor's Version) vault track "Don't You" — her very first time performing the latter song live.
The song came out in 2021 when Swift re-released her second album, Fearless , from 13 years prior, adding new songs to the mix.
On Saturday, July 27, the “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart” singer treated fans to a medley of "Fresh Out the Slammer" and "You Are in Love," along with a piano mashup of "Ivy" and "Call It What You Want." during her first show in Munich.
Before she started the second combination of songs, Swift flubbed the opening notes of "Ivy," but was able to shake it off. "Sometimes you just don't hit the right note, do you?" she said , before carrying on with the Evermore tune.

The 14-time Grammy winner also took a moment to appreciate the thousands of fans gathered on the Olympiaberg hill outside the Olympiastadion to listen to her play.
"We've got people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there!" she told the crowd during her Saturday show. "I just feel so incredibly welcomed, and we're gonna spend all night trying to make it up to you."
Ahead of her Munich tour stops, Swift celebrated her set of shows in Hamburg, Germany, on Instagram by thanking fans for bearing the pouring rain with her in what's become one of her newest favorite Eras Tour "traditions."
"Hamburg!! I loved those crowds so so so much," she wrote in a caption alongside photos from her concerts.

"AND we got a rain show night one, unlocking Fuzzy Hair Me for the evening 😆 Been having a blast watching these new Eras crowd traditions unfold all throughout Europe… You guys are seriously so creative," she added.
Up next, Swift will perform a three-night run in Warsaw, Poland, from Aug. 1 to 3 before heading to Austria and back to London later that month for another round of epic shows, which will close out the European leg of her international Eras Tour.

Following two shows in the German city over the weekend, Swift, writing on her Instagram account, spoke about the huge crowds she drew outside of the stadium.
Thousands of Swifties who couldn’t get tickets to the second night of her tour in Munich gathered to listen to the gig outside the stadium, with local police estimating that 45,000-50,000 fans congregated on the hills outside the Olympiastadion.
During the show, Swift acknowledged how many extra people were outside the stadium. “We have people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there!” she said. “You’re so welcome and we’re going to spend all night trying to make it up to you.”
In her post later reflecting on what had happened, Swift wrote: “What a magical experience it was playing in Munich. The crowds of 74,000 people a night in the stadium were so passionate, and so generous to us. And I had no idea before I got to Munich that there’s a huge park behind the stadium, but around 50,000 people came out and listened to the show from the hillside both nights.
“I’ve been watching so many videos of the crowds out there fully participating in the show from afar, all that joy,” Swift continued. “I’m feeling really grateful for the unexpected memories this tour has created. We have 11 shows left on the European leg of the tour, kicking off *August* with 3 shows in Warsaw!”

Elsewhere on the European leg of her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’, Swift has given numerous deep cuts from her back catalogue their live debuts, including ‘Run’, ‘We Are Happy’ and ‘Happiness’ at the first Hamburg gig and ‘Superstar’ in Gelsenkirchen. Earlier on the tour, she gave ‘Sweeter Than Fiction’ its debut live outing , as well as ‘imgonnagetyouback’ and ‘The Albatross’ .
The singer is due to return to London next month for five more sold-out concerts at Wembley Stadium , having played three dates at the venue in June . Support will once again come from Paramore .
In a five-star review of her UK ‘Eras Tour’ opener in Edinburgh , NME wrote: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community.
“Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’). It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch , but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family.
“With the ‘Eras Tour’, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”

How to get tickets to international shows on Taylor Swift’s 'Eras Tour'
The “Shake It Off” singer’s fan base infamously crashed Ticketmaster when they overcrowded the system while trying to buy tickets when they went live on Nov. 15, 2022. Since then, the platform has employed a new ticket purchasing process that has kept crashes at bay — so far.
The new purchasing multistep process first requires preregistration in order to be eligible for presales and regular sales. However, presales and registration are closed for all current international tour dates.
Fans who are interested in attending an international show can try purchasing tickets on reseller sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek.

Taylor Swift Fans Enjoy Free 'Eras Tour' Concerts From Hill Outside Munich Stadium
Some Taylor Swift fans got to enjoy her "Eras Tour" shows in Munich, Germany, for free over the weekend.
Thousands of Swifties who couldn't score tickets to the singer-songwriter's soldout concert gathered on a hill outside the show venue, Olympiastadion, to watch and sing along to the performances on Saturday and Sunday, ABC News reported.
On Sunday, Swifties flocked to the top of the city, Olympiaberg or Olympic Hill, for the second straight day. The hill gave them an elevated vantage point to witness the singer's performance in the nearby Olympic Stadium.
Swift performed a guitar medley of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," her duet with Zayn Malik from the "Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack, and "imgonnagetyouback," an anthology song from "The Tortured Poets Department."
She then turned to the piano and sang a mashup of "Loml" from "TTPD" and the "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" vault track "Don't You," marking her first live performance of the latter song.
A day prior, Swifties withstood the heat, which hit 31 degrees Celsius (87 degrees Fahrenheit), and claimed their spots on the hill hours before the concert began. According to the DPA news agency, police estimated that about 25,000 people were gathered on Olympic Hill.
DPA reported that the concert organizer distributed emergency blankets and water to the people waiting to shield themselves from the sun instead of discouraging free viewings.
Before Swift's "Lover" performance, she acknowledged the fans gathered on the hill, saying, "We've got people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there."
"Thank you for making me feel so incredibly welcome," she added, noting that she and the rest of the performers on stage would "spend all night trying to make it up to you."
Swift is next scheduled to perform three concerts in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, Thursday through Saturday.
