The Best Travel Youtube Channels

Kara and nate, who are they:  .

Kara and Nate are travel vloggers that are just good wholesome fun.  They set out from Nashville Tennesee to travel the world about 5 years ago.  Soon after, they made a bucket list goal to visit 100 countries by 2020.  They met their 100-country goal, and by that time, YouTube was a steady career for them.  Kara and Nate are truly addicted to international travel, but COVID changed that game for the couple.  Having no quit in them, they found a way to travel safely and returned to the United States.  They converted a Sprinter van and have set a new goal to visit all 50 states.  Kara and Nate are one of the largest travel channels and have now put out more than 800 videos, so you better get started!

What Makes Kara and Nate Special:

Kara is a joyful soul. Her big smile and contagious laugh keep you smiling the whole episode.  Plus, she is always ready to laugh at herself and just seems like an all-around nice person.  Nate is so driven and incredibly smart.  Their channel not only provides solid entertainment but great travel hacks and tips from Nate.  Nate has an online course on credit card travel hacks, while Kara sells courses on editing.

Kara and Nate don’t just randomly vlog, they focus on finding the absolute best and most unique experiences and accommodations in their travels.  On top of all that, their filming and editing skills are above and beyond most in the travel vlog world.  They have taken this venture as a business from early on in the process, and it shows.  They are some of the best travel vloggers in the world!

Flying the Nest

Stephen and Jess are an Australian couple who have been traveling the world for years!  We have watched them grow up, get married, and start a family on YouTube.  Currently, they are traveling Australia in their brand new converted van, “Cooper The Van.”  Stephen and Jess show us the best places to eat, unique places to stay, and how to still have adventure even when the kiddos come along.

What Makes Flying the Nest Special:

Jess is possibly the most down-to-earth beauty out there.  Nothing seems to ruffle her feathers, and she is just a calming force to watch.  Stephen is quirky and so funny.  He is a dork, and he knows it, and he owns it!  Their love for each other is evident, and it’s just a feel-good watch.  Plus, now they have the addition of beautiful baby Hunter, the most chill travel baby ever!

Hunter has added a whole new level of cute to the series, and the whole audience feels like proud parents watching their own child experience her first Aussie beach sunset.  They are a beautiful family, with a beautiful story.  In addition to all this, Stephen’s camera work and elegant editing style are all his own.  His work is distinguishable and excellent!  We think Flying the Nest is one of the best travel youtube channels out there!

Who Are They :

There is nothing more fun on the planet than watching these two crazy Welsh kids tackle the world! Their accents are hilarious.  They are hilarious.  Craig and Aimee have been together for a very long time, and their relationship has been strengthened by a near-death experience by each of them!  When they met, Aimee had just received a cancer diagnosis, and the road was long and hard.  Then, Craig challenged their relationship some more with a broken neck from an adventure sports accident.

These two events, in a short span of time, convinced this crazy pair to chase after an unconventional life, and to live every moment to its fullest! Through it all, they have kept their joy and their sense of spontaneity.  Their motto is to “Rule Your Own World,” and they certainly do.  They have spent the last couple of years renovating a Mercedes Vario Bus into their new home.  Custard the Bus is a beauty, and her European adventures are just beginning. They have 500 travel videos for you to binge!  We think they are one of the best travel channels on YouTube and terribly underrated.

What Makes Kinging It Special:

Craig and Aimee are absolutely hilarious.  They will have you wetting yourself, every episode!  Plus, they take on the wildest challenges.  They have completed the massive and absurd Mongol Rally, a competition that travels all through Europe and Asia, usually ending somewhere in Eastern Russia.  The car must be a clunker and have under a 1L engine, and chaos is highly encouraged!  Craig and Aimee’s Mongol Rally Series will have you rolling. Then these crazy kids bought their own rickshaw and proceeded to drive it from across India from North to South.  It was a wild ride.  Craig and Aimee are two personalities that you won’t soon forget, and their wild abandon, hilarious travel stories, and zest for life will make you want to live a little more freely, and “Rule your own world!”

Raya and Louis

Who are they:.

Raya and Louis are fairly new to the Travel YouTube scene as a couple, but Louis Cole has been in the biz for a long time.  His original channel, FunForLouis has over 2Million Subs, and it’s easy to see why.  Louis is just likable with his laidback vibe and a head full of dreadlocks. He’s an easy-going and loveable dude.  He and Raya are currently traveling through Europe in a rented van visiting family and taking holiday, but soon they will head back to their main mission.  They have about 50 videos out, so you can still easily catch up with the adventure.

What Makes Raya and Louis Special:

Raya and Louis are into deep convos.  They have spilled the beans about the hard parts of their relationships and mental health issues, and there is just something about that level of vulnerability that makes you want to watch. They are also very eco-conscious and give great tips on how to travel in an eco-friendly way.  They have recently purchased land in Costa Rica to build a tree-house jungle community.  Like with everyone else, COVID changed their plans a bit, but soon, they will be making their way down to Costa Rica in their converted school bus to start a new life!  We can’t wait to see the community they build.

Endless Adventure

Eric and Allison are the most charming couple from Missouri.  They’re sometimes Southern twang and complete and utter talent to be their quirky selves is both endearing and super funny.  Eric is a computer geek and a total self-proclaimed nerd.  Allison is red-headed beauty with the best big awkward laugh.  These two specialize in unique accommodations and lots of food! They always show us the best places to eat, and exactly what weird foods to try.

Their lighthearted personalities and willingness to just be their nerdy selves make you instantly love them!  They have currently begun a tiny home renovation too, but not any old sprinter van would fit these two.  They have bought a completely run-down 1970s RV, and they are taking on the renovation completely by themselves!  Clementine  is going to be a beauty, and it has been an awesome journey to watch.  They have  737  videos for you to catch up on!

What Makes Endless Adventure Special:

They make great videos.  They cover great content, but Allison and Eric are people you could watch read the phone book and be happy.  They are really enjoyable to watch, no matter what they are doing.  They obviously love one another. They love good beer and whiskey in equal measure, and they love a challenge.  They are awkward, funny, quirky, and absolutely adorable!  Keep it coming Eric and Allison. We love it all!

Who Is He:

“Food is the reason you should travel.”  Well, Mark, we agree!  After University, Mark Wiens set out to find the world’s best street food.  He has traveled the markets of Southeast Asia, stalls of Japan, and he recently spent 16 days with the street vendors of Pakistan.  Mark’s channel is absolutely huge!  With over 8 million viewers, it’s obvious that we YouTube viewers really love food…and Mark.  Mark is an unassuming and charming guy. His great big smile, love for food, and humble demeanor are endearing.  Between his YouTube personality and his incredibly informative blog, Migrationology,  it’s no wonder he has so many faithful followers.  Mark has found a beautiful wife in Thailand and settled with his new family in Bangkok, but they still travel frequently in the hunt for the best street foods in the world!

What Makes Mark Special:

Honestly, we all wish we knew Mark’s secret!  We think the secret to Mark’s success, aside from some great business savvy, is his magnetic personality.  Mark is one of the most positive personas online.  Even after over 1,100 videos on food, he still seems just as excited as he did with the first one!  Mark greets every new place and every new food adventure with gusto and genuine excitement.  Mark loves food, and we love Mark!

Travel Beans

Alex and Emma are a pair of Brits out traveling the world and documenting their “Tipsy Beans” moments.  They may or may not have a tendency to get a little inebriated while filming.  Alex is witty and his sarcasm comes at the most unexpected moments.  Emma is a doll and has been very prominent in the push for better mental health advocacy.  Emma has struggled with some depression issues, which they have well-documented in a two-part series on their channel.  Thankfully, she has received the help she needed and has come out on the other side.  She now uses their channel on occasion to express the importance of finding life and health in this world, and doing what makes you happy! They have recently started a van conversion as well, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with!

What Makes Travel Beans Special:

Alex and Emma are truly authentic.  What you see is what you get: drunk, depressed, happy, angry, sarcastic, whatever is going on, you get the true and unfiltered version from them.  They are very funny, and who doesn’t love that perfect British accent? If sarcastic and loveable Brits adventuring is your thing, Alex and Emma have 485 videos just waiting for you!

Who Is She:

Nadine is one of the oldest and best in the game.  For almost 10 years she has been traveling the globe, first as a solo traveler, then-wife, and now mother.  Nadine has been to almost 60 countries and is the travel tips queen!  She’s always got the best advice and little tricks to make your trip smoother.  Plus, she’s really funny.  Her vlog has transitioned a lot since becoming a new mother.  She posts much more of the daily grind and general lifestyle hacks, but we still can’t take our eyes off her.  Nadine has represented every big brand in the business, spoken at every travel conference, and landed all the awards.  She is the best, and yet she is humble and down to earth. We’ll watch you mom any day Nadine!

What Make Hey Nadine Special:

Nadine has been in the wanderlust business a long time, and she just knows how to be in front of the camera.  She presents great info in a funny way, and she is joyful and energetic.  She is just fun to watch.

Lexi Limitless

Lexi is a new kid on the scene who has made a huge splash!! That’s all because she has the unique distinction of holding a Guinness World Record.  Lexie was the youngest person ever to travel to all 196 countries of the world.  She accomplished this feat before her 21st birthday!  Lexi is a remarkable young woman, and that level of travel has made her wise and mature beyond her years.

What Makes Lexi Limitless Special:

This solo female traveler has literally experienced every culture on earth.  She has lived with remote African tribes and tried the world’s most nasty foods.  She is a lovely girl, with a great series of travel vlogs that cover a wide range of topics, obviously!  Her footage is surprisingly well-shot and well-edited. Lexie is just starting to roll out the videos from her years of travel, so go check her out now!

Alexander Ayling

Alex and Marko Ayling made YouTube travel content for years as the Vagabrothers.  They have now slowed on that, but Alexander is taking on a brand new adventure.  He has moved to New Zealand and bought a homestead with his wife Carrie. After a long hunt for the perfect property, they have finally found it, and the renovations have begun.  Alex and Carrie have big plans, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out!

What Makes Alexander Ayling Special:

Alex is a filmmaker at heart.  His footage is perfect. Always.  Not to mention that Alex has a very distinct narrative style to his videos.  He wants his channel to feel like a place where you come to have a good chat with an old friend.  He truly lets you in on his life and leaves you wanting more!   Catch up on Alex and Carrie’s Renovation Dream here!

Wolter’s World

Wolter’s World has carved out his own nitch in the travel world.  Unlike the rest of the famous travel bloggers, Wolter doesn’t tell you what to do in a famous destination.  He tells you what not to do!  Brilliant.  Every great traveler wants to blend in and look like a local if possible, or at least not do anything too stupid!  Wolter helps us out in this realm.  He makes sure we know the “Top Ten Things NOT to do in El Salvador,” and everywhere else!  Wolter’s World has been in the game almost 10 years too, and his video collection is extensive.  If you want to make sure you don’t have massive culture shock, have all the do’s and dont’s, and know the down and dirty for your destination, Wolter is your guy!

What Makes Wolter’s World Special:

Wolter has a special way of being able to present the good, the bad, and the ugly about a destination, in a respectful and culturally appropriate way.  He is not afraid to state the bad stuff, and we appreciate it.  Let’s be real. Every destination has its goods and bads, and any experienced traveler wants to know the less than glossy stuff before we arrive. So, we appreciate you, Wolter, keep it up!

Expert Vagabond

Matthew Karstan is a true vagabond.  His channel focuses on hiking and camping adventures and budget travel advice in some incredible and off-the-tourist-track places.  Matt has worked with everyone from Lonely Planet, to National Geographic, and Go Pro.  He excels as a travel blogger and photographer,  in print and social media. His travel blog tells exceptional stories of life on the road as a digital nomad. However, his YouTube channel is a fabulous collection of his adventures in true old-school vlogger fashion. He is genuine, experienced, and gives fantastic advice.

What Makes Expert Vagabond Special:

Matthew is just a normal guy who loves nature and loves to travel the world.  He isn’t especially eloquent, and his videos aren’t overproduced.  He just gives great footage, great advice, and especially great travel experiences, from an expert traveler who has seen it all!

Eamon and Bec

Eamon and Bec are the quintessential van-lifers… or they were.  They were traveling in Morocco when COVID hit, and they had to abandon their van  Trinity  there.  Though they did get a new van and do a few trips, COVID made life tough for these Canadians.  They soon abandoned the van in favor of a cabin in the Canadian wilderness.  They are quite the DIYers and have entertained us thoroughly with their renovation successes and disasters!  Eamon is always on the move to the next crazy antic and Bec is just along for the ride.  Her great big laugh and gentle spirit make everyone love her.  Their next adventure is to buy another Canadian property to run as an Airbnb.

What Makes Eamon and Bec Special:

E and B are another great couple that has proved during this pandemic that they could sit and do absolutely nothing, and we would still tune in every Sunday to get our fix!  We have watched them tackle everything from van conversions to home conversion, dog fostering, and more. And, we still can’t get enough. This delightful pair has over 300 vids for you to veg out on, and we know you’re gonna love them.

Rick Steves

Rick Steves is the king of all things travel-related. Period.  There are no better travel guide books on the planet! His fabulously detailed books and ridiculously nerdy audio guides have been leading us through Europe and making us snort-laugh for years! But, the YouTube videos he produces are just as good.  Rick isn’t really a vlogger in the traditional sense.  His videos are definitely professionally researched, written, filmed, and produced by a talented professional team.  They are just the right mix of fun and informative, with all the necessary information on tourist sites and local must-do items.

What Makes Rick Steves Special:

In short, the experience.  Rick has traveled Europe extensively, with multiple visits to each country.  His team of local guides, researchers, and destination experts put for the most up-to-date and interesting information and leave out the fluff!  With well over 1800 videos to peruse, there really is no better place to get all your necessary trip information.

Sailing la Vagabonde

Riley and Elayna have the world’s largest sailing YouTube channel.  These two Aussies are going through a transition though.  They recently had their second baby and sailed their last sail.  So, what is up for the crazy foursome now?  We don’t really know, but we know it will be fun!

What Makes Saling La Vagabonde Special:

We have watched their whole relationship unfold from newly-mets who had never sailed, to season professionals with two beautiful kiddos. We don’t know what is in store, but we are guaranteed to stay tuned to see!

New Travel YouTube Channels to Keep an Eye On

While we have focused most of this article on the oldies but goodies, there are some truly great channels that are just getting their start on YouTube.  For a few fresh faces in the travel industry, we suggest you subscribe to one of these awesome newcomers!

Jits into the Sunset

Tania and Adam are an Irish and English couple traveling the UK with their Sprinter van  Jitters.  They are different in the YouTube crowd.  They make travel vlogs, yes, but not all that often.  They are self-proclaimed slow travelers, who put out new videos whenever they feel like it. However, they are full of travel inspiration and well worth the wait.

What Makes Jits Special:

Adam and Tania do life van life their own way, and they don’t seem to get caught up in the travel YouTube channel game.  They make vlogs, but it doesn’t seem to rule their life.  They live on their own plane and do things in true freedom, and that’s an admirable way to live!

Lost Among Locals

Who are they: .

Ryan and Abby are a married couple from Arkansas.  They left their jobs and sold it all in early 2020: the big house, the cars, all of it! Little did they know COVID was coming. Like everyone on this list,  it changed their plans a bit, but they managed to Central America and start their world tour.  Ryan is quiet, slightly awkward, and you can tell he is the world’s nicest person.  Abby is sassy, funny, and you never know what might come out of her mouth!

Ryan and Abby are culture vultures who genuinely love to learn about history, cultural oddities, and all the things that make different people groups unique.  They are full-time travelers and digital nomads, so their version of slow travel and international living is refreshing to watch.

What Makes Lost Among Locals Special:

They traveled internationally for 12 years before leaving for full-time travel and had already experienced several amazing destinations as a pair.  So, they bring a unique blend of touristy sites juxtaposed with everyday local life and budget travel tips.  They dance with Albanians at a baby’s birthday party, play street games with old Turkish men, and score the best local foods in every destination.  COVID definitely made local interaction harder for them, as they regrettably express, but we look forward to seeing more of their off-the-beaten-path lifestyle in the future!  Keep up the good work guys!

The Vandersons

Emily and Danny feel like instant friends.  They are just so likable.  Danny and Emily set out in their van, with their cat Graham and dog Sombrita right after they got married.  They have since been traveling through Central America with their nomad pet family! Their goal is to make the full journey from Seattle to Argentina in their tiny, colorful van.  Though they are new to video making, their vlogs are heartfelt and laidback.  Danny is a lifelong BMX biker and app developer, with a surfer boy vibe and Emily is the sweetest soul. If easy-going is the vibe you are after, these two have the vids for you!

What Makes The Vandersons Special:

Emily has a narrating voice that is absolute perfection. Their footage is good, but the real perk to watching the Vandersons is that they tackle destinations you have never heard of.  Because they travel full-time, at their own pace, they get to some truly off-the-beaten-path gems that you don’t get to see in many other travel vlogs. Plus, their delightful pet-filled family is just heartwarming, and it’s awesome to see a young couple so happy, living a crazy unconventional life to the fullest!

That’s it, guys!  These are the best travel bloggers out there right now!  You have lots of new videos to binge, so you better get busy! Let us know in the comments, which of these bloggers is your favorite.

i culdnt find any better travel insights than this , thanks a bunch

wow, thanks for putting this piece of information together

Thank you Dave and Deb for sharing this great article. Me and my wife We love travelling and when we not travelling, we can watch someone else travelling…)

An indeed insightful collection of travel youtube channels one would wish to watch.

Thank you very much theplanetd.com to telling us about inspiring travel channel.

This Guy “Indigo Traveller” is really a worthy mention. Gives us an insight into North Korea

Way late to the game but I’d recommend Indigo Traveller. He puts out lots of great content, goes to a number of less poplar destinations (including NK), and seems like a genuinely awesome guy to boot.

Check out Chasing Everywhere! She travel the world full time and makes videos of unique places she finds. Really beautiful drone footage and great tips and tricks! youtube.com/chasingeverywhere

Thanks for letting us know. We’ll definitely check them out! This post is a year or so old, so it is time to update it for sure. Cheers Deb

Hey there! When/if you update your YouTube adventure travels to watch list, maybe consider QE Adventures (short for Quinn and Ethan Adventures).

These teenage brothers are skilled videographers and editors and personably narrate their family friendly high adventures in a style that makes audiences wish they’d come along. It’s one of the few channels with videos from the teenage travelers’ perspectives.

Thanks for sharing your channel. I’ll be sure to check it out and all the best to you!

Hi, Dave and Deb.

Have to say a relay wonderful blog 🙂 Something similar what we have started our self, but we are aiming for local travel experience in our small but very beautiful country Lithuania. As I see you haven’t been here. You are very very welcomed here. Although we are small but that does not mean we don’t have anything to show 🙂 Would be super so see your experience of our countr here 🙂

Cheers, Auste and Justas @ TravelingLithuania

Thanks! We’d love to come to Lithuania in the near future.

What is with the popularity contest? This is the same boring list that everyone publishes. I’m so tired of seeing the same people on these lists, two of whom should not be included!

You are more than welcome to add some names. We asked if anyone had someone to add. So put them on the list. These are the people we follow and enjoy. Also, there is another list that Christine wrote for us just before we compiled this one. that we talked about at the beginning of this blog post. (if you read it) And the reason we decided to do a part two. Sorry if you are not on it, I am not familiar with your videos, but I’ll take a look. I don’t know everyone out there. But I try.

Ah, I just went and took a look at your YouTube travel channel and see that you haven’t posted in two years. That would be the reason I hadn’t thought of you. Good luck if you start posting again. PS, I deleted your comment made under the John Doe email address as I see it is from the same IP address as you, (within minutes of each other) and nobody needs to read a second complaint saying the same thing by you under a pseudonym. But I left yours up because I feel that people have a right to their opinion. Cheers!

Great collection, getting entertained and inspired to travel. Thanks

Amazing collection of channels here! I really dig the aggregation and attribution going on. Thanks for sharing these channels with us!

Thanks for the recommendations, I will check these out!

So my channel isn’t quite as robust as many of the ones mentioned here, but it does highlight a part of the world that none of these Youtube channels even go near. Check it out! I’d love to hear your feedback.

This RV Living Influencer is Enjoying One Amazing Life on YouTube and Beyond!

Published on May 4th, 2023 by Rene Agredano

Six years ago, Liz Amazing, a popular full-time RV living influencer on YouTube, found herself at a turning point in her life. Despite closing yet another lucrative real estate deal, she took a moment to assess her priorities. With a $20,000 commission check in one hand, and a fistful of RV living dreams in the other, Liz intuitively knew it was time to make a change. At 55-years-old, this real estate agent sensed that her fast-paced lifestyle was no longer sustainable if she wanted to be happy. It was time to pursue her dream of RV living.

Liz was a successful real estate agent, and she was making good money. But her career couldn’t satisfy her adventurous spirit. “I just felt more and more trapped. I was making good money, and was successful. But I hated it.” From the all-day phone meetings that tethered her to clients, to a never-ending race to the closing table, her thriving real estate career gave her almost everything she ever wanted. But one thing it could not do was provide a rich and adventurous traveling lifestyle. For 25 years, the idea of traveling the country in an RV had called to her. Finally, in 2019, she knew the time was right to make her dream a reality.

From Real Estate Agent to Popular Full-time RV Living Influencer

Each week on her Liz Amazing YouTube channel she shares the highs and lows of RV living with nearly 100,000 loyal subscribers. They enthusiastically watch her helpful videos on RV tips for everything from finding good RV repair shops, to RV trip planning, driving tips, and more. Her full-time RVing lifestyle combined with 25-plus years of camping experience work together to give RVers information they need about all aspects of life on wheels. And oftentimes, RVers show her helpful new tools too, like when a campground neighbor told her about the RV LIFE Trip Wizard planning tool.

Liz Amazing by motorhome

“It’s such a dream!” she says. Before she started using RV LIFE Trip Wizard, she spent a ton of time researching and compiling trip routes, mileage, and campgrounds data. With RV Trip Wizard, that old route planning method went by the wayside. “I love how I can change my itinerary on the fly. Because in this life you do change your itinerary constantly! There is a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but once you have it set up, it just seems so easy.”

Viewers find her information helpful, and it’s their enthusiasm that fuels her desire to keep on creating new videos. After all, nothing makes her happier than knowing she offers trustworthy information to other RVers. Each day she pinches herself, just to make sure she’s no longer just dreaming about her new way of life. “How lucky am I at 60 years old, be making a living, to be able to support myself traveling!”

Warm, Welcoming, and No-Nonsense RV Living Guidance

Liz mostly just wanted to take time off, explore national parks, and tap into her photography skills to create beautiful art from the road. But when friends began encouraging her to start a YouTube channel about her new lifestyle, the former graphic designer and photographer took a leap of faith and started a channel. Her warm and welcoming personality combined with a no-nonsense practicality about RV living soon won viewers over.

Today, Liz says she thoroughly enjoys how her YouTube creations utilize the talents and gifts she’s been given. Being a content creator enables her to help people live their own dreams. She especially hopes that women who put their own dreams on hold for the sake of raising families or caring for parents and partners will be inspired to make their own positive lifestyle changes. “There are many people out there that are waking up feeling like they’re on the wrong path and that they’re just wasting their life. It’s a common story, but not everybody takes action to change that,” she explains. “By living my life and my dream, whatever that dream is for others, if they see me doing it, it hopefully will inspire them to go after whatever is calling them,” she says.

The One Thing Most RVers Don’t Know About Liz Amazing

You may be surprised to learn that Liz Amazing’s name is not an alias, as many fans of her RV living YouTube channel assume. In fact, “Amazing” is her legal name. After her divorce was finalized several years ago, Liz wanted to change her surname to something that would bring her happiness, just as taking her ex-husband’s name did when they first got married. She explains, “I wanted a name that I’m just as excited about now that I’m getting divorced. I want to have a happy name.”

full-time RV influencer Liz Amazing (Image: Liz Amazing)

When the word “Amazing” came up as a possibility, the idea made her smile but she quickly tossed it aside. “Nobody has a name like that!” she told herself. But six months later she changed her mind. “I thought that if it makes me happy, why not just do it?”

Today, she loves how strangers smile when she announces her last name. “I had no idea the happiness it would bring people!” Whether it’s calling an insurance agent or verifying her identity to a phone banker, people chuckle and even share their own silly name ideas like “Mark Magnificent!” Her adopted name is an instant icebreaker that puts people at ease. “It makes people happy. I had no idea that would happen! I thought I would get laughed at. Well, there hasn’t been a single person laughing at my name after all these years. But everyone is inspired. It makes me feel good that I just followed my heart and did it.”

Finding Joy an Intentional Full-time RV Living Influencer Mission

Liz Amazing’s full-time RV living situation isn’t always perfect, but she remains committed to this lifestyle. As viewers of her YouTube channel know, she faces common RV issues like unreliable internet connectivity, repairs gone wrong, and even campground theft. But none of these struggles have caused her to consider going back to her old traditional lifestyle. “This life makes me feel so alive! I’m finally living after feeling like I was on the wrong path for so long.”

She explains that if watching her channel causes more people to follow their hearts and chase their dreams as a result of her work, she knows that she’s living her life with intention and purpose. And that’s what makes her happiest. “I don’t think of it as a job. I feel like it’s my mission. And I feel so lucky to be doing this!”

We went on a trip to Europe 3 years ago and never left. Our kid's life is way better here than it was in the US.

  • My family and I went on an open-ended trip to Europe, and we ended up buying a house here.
  • We love living in Portugal — life is relaxed and our son gets lots of time outdoors.
  • Although we will always have ties to the United States, we love living in Europe.

Insider Today

In January 2019, my father died. For months, I was in a fog and, in an effort to lift our spirits, I asked my husband how he felt about an open-ended trip to Europe.

It was the perfect escape since our son is homeschooled, and we have flexible work schedules as writers and composers.

He was all in, so we took a one-way flight to Italy and explored the United Kingdom and Europe for six months while we worked and schooled in between.

We didn't end up returning to the US.

We fell in love with Europe and ended up buying a house in Portugal

During our trip, we spent a long time in the Netherlands, where we learned more about the culture. We were especially impressed with how independent the children were.

We witnessed kids as young as 4 years old bike themselves to school past our rental house almost daily. It was far from the reality in the US, and this stop on our trip is where we began learning just how great Europe could be .

We planned to return to the US in early 2020, but then the coronavirus pandemic hit worldwide. We felt scared and confused, and going home seemed less of an option as some borders closed.

Related stories

So, we extended our stay in Europe and then headed to Portugal, a place we were already familiar with.

We began renting a charming Airbnb in the Portuguese countryside and extended our trip so many times that the owners asked if we wanted to buy the house.

Affordable home prices in rural Portugal coupled with extremely low interest rates for mortgages allowed us to say yes.

Life began to feel calm and somewhat secure.

While my friends posted on social media about fighting in the supermarkets to buy toilet paper in the US, we were feeling OK. Our community was incredibly kind, and neighbors brought us food from their farms.

This temporary situation eventually became our new reality. We started to realize living in Europe may actually be a good idea for our family.

It's been 3 years since our 'accidental move,' and we have no regrets

We began referring to this journey as our "accidental move." We'd left for vacation with three suitcases, and suddenly, we were building an unexpected life in our new home in a new country.

In the US, life felt fast-paced and hurried, but moments feel savored here. Although it was initially challenging to adapt to, I now embrace the rhythm and want it for my son.

Witnessing many advantages — the ease of homeownership , exceptional healthcare, a safe environment, and a warm embrace by the community — solidified our decision to stay.

Here, our son thrives with ample outdoor time, easy access to healthy food, guaranteed medical care, and the constant opportunity to explore new cultures.

Though the US will always technically be home, and we'll always be connected to it through our chosen academic structure, our jobs, mandatory taxes, and our house there, we've certainly found Europe to be our sanctuary where we feel most peaceful.

What’s the Best AI Trip Planner?

How to use supercomputing skill to plan your next road trip

By Roadtrippers

Trip planning is time-consuming because of all the dimensions that go into it… Are you a hotel hopper? Or is RVing your jam?

How can you ensure that you hit all the best stops on your road trip? Where can you find campgrounds or BNBs?

There are other questions too… Who is going with you? Do you need pet-friendly accommodations? What about the best restaurants along your way?

Depending on your feelings about trip planning, these questions can be fun or scary. Even if you love trip planning, you probably still struggle with FOMO — the fear of missing out on a can’t-miss stop.

AI trip planners take the guesswork out of travel planning and save you tons of time. This post will help you discover the best AI trip planner for your next journey.

Feet in rearview road trip

What’s the Best AI Trip Planner?

Spoiler alert: Roadtrippers just launched our very own trip planner called Autopilot™ . It combines the power of AI with 38 million real-life human trips. It’s like crowdsourcing your vacation with the extra help of a super-smart computer brain.

No other AI trip planner has our human element. Here are other features we built in that make Autopilot™ stand out:

– We get geography. The inconvenient truth of many AI trip planners today is that they’ll send you backtracking. True, they might find some of the best stops, but the routes they offer can be less than direct. That’s why the best AI trip planners map out sensible routes with spectacular stops.

– We build trust with easy ways to verify. Roadtrippers is a community of real people who have been building real trips for over a decade. We’ve helped plan over 38 million itineraries and these users have left reviews all along the way.

That means you can view real-life reviews of the stops that our Autopilot™ AI trip planner maps out to ensure that humans agree.

– Travel is art, not science. That’s why Autopilot gets to know your unique travel style. We’ll ask some simple but essential questions, and then, we’ll combine your answers with human experience and supercomputing skill to build your Autopilot™ itinerary. Other AI trip planners seek out generic trip recommendations based only on internet searches. The resulting for-the-masses recommendations won’t be tailored to you. We at Roadtrippers know that travel is personal. That’s why our Autopilot™ AI trip planner uses itineraries from real life trips taken by real life people to create your personalized trip.

Autopilot AI Trip Planner

How Do AI Trip Planners Work?

AI trip planners typically work by swiftly surfing the web to create a vacation to match a request you submit. The best AI trip planners will ask you a series of questions to understand where you want to go and how you want to get there. Most only allow you to request something like “Plan a road trip from New York to Chicago.” The challenge with that simplistic AI trip planning approach is that it doesn’t account for essential travel factors like budget, vehicle type, people traveling, and more.

With the more basic AI trip planners, your trip itinerary is usually based on raw data that the AI tool can find online rather than the human experience or responses that you provide.

Most AI trip planners out there today are also desktop-only. This means you won’t have an AI trip-planning app on your smartphone when you’re on the road.

That’s why Autopilot™, our AI trip planner, works by asking you a few simple questions to understand your travel style.

It then combines your answers with real human experiences (38 million human experiences to be exact) to build your ideal trip in less than 2 minutes.

Autopilot™ lives in the Roadtrippers app, so you’ll have easy access to your vacation itinerary right on your smartphone.

Questions That Your AI Trip Planner Should Ask You

An AI trip planner is only as good as its understanding of your travel style. If it’s not asking you questions like the following, you won’t wind up with a personalized itinerary:

  • What kind of vehicle are you traveling in? If you’re driving a 45-foot Class A RV and your AI trip planner assumes you’re in a smart car, you will have issues.
  • Budget? The best AI trip planners are wizards at building the trips to get you the most bang for your vacation buck.
  • When do you plan to travel? Without this information, you might get recommendations for events you’d love to go to that aren’t happening when you visit or for seasonal venues that aren’t open.
  • Who is going? Pets? Kids? Solo? Couple? This has a big impact on the itinerary. A solid AI planner will ask you about it.
  • Where do you want to eat and stay? These sorts of things can make or break a vacation. Make sure your AI planner knows your preferences.

Biden honors US war dead with a cemetery visit ending a French trip that served as a rebuke to Trump

BELLEAU, France — President Joe Biden closed out his trip to France by paying his respects at an American military cemetery that Donald Trump notably skipped when he was president, hoping his final stop Sunday helped draw the stakes of the November election in stark relief.

Before returning to the United States, Biden honored America’s war dead at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery about an hour outside Paris. He placed a wreath at the cemetery chapel before an expanse of white headstones marking the final resting place of more than 2,200 U.S. soldiers who fought in World War I.

It was a solemn end to five days in which Trump was an unspoken yet unavoidable presence. On the surface, the trip marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day and celebrated the alliance between the United States and France. But during an election year when Trump has called into question fundamental understandings about America’s global role, Biden has embraced his Republican predecessor — and would-be successor — as a latent foil.

Every ode to the transatlantic partnership was a reminder that Trump could upend those relationships. Each reference to democracy stood a counterpoint to his rival’s efforts to overturn a presidential election. The myriad exhortations to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia created a contrast with Trump’s skepticism about providing U.S. assistance.

Biden’s paeans to the struggle between democracy and autocracy drew plaudits in Europe, where the prospect of a return to Trump’s turbulent reign has sparked no shortage of anxiety. But it remains to be seen how the message will resonate with American voters, as Biden’s campaign struggles to connect the dire warnings the Democratic president so often delivers about his rival with people’s daily concerns.

The visit to the cemetery served as a moment to underscore the contrast once more.

“It’s the same story,” Biden said. “America showed up. America showed up to stop the Germans. America showed up to make sure that they did not prevail. And America shows up when we’re needed just like our allies show for us.”

During a 2018 trip to France, Trump skipped plans to go to the cemetery, a decision that the White House blamed on weather at the time. However, subsequent reports said that Trump told aides he didn’t want to go because he viewed the dead soldiers as “suckers” and “losers.” Trump has denied the comments, although they were later corroborated by his chief of staff at the time, John Kelly.

Trump’s purported insults have become a regular feature of Biden’s campaign speeches, including during an April rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

“These soldiers were heroes, just as every American who has served this nation,” Biden said. “Believing otherwise, that alone is disqualifying for someone to seek this office.”

Biden ignored a direct question about Trump at the cemetery but said it was important to visit the hallowed ground. “The idea that I would come to Normandy and not make the short trip here to pay tribute,” he added, his voice trailing off as if to express disbelief.

Trump, at a campaign rally in Las Vegas, said Sunday after Biden had left France that the president’s performance overseas was “terrible” and embarrassing, though Trump did not cite anything in particular. “This is not a representative for what used to be the greatest country,” he told his supporters, adding that under Biden “we are a nation in major decline and we’re going to stop it immediately.”

Maura Sullivan, a former Marine officer who served on the American Battle Monuments Commission under President Barack Obama, said Biden’s visit would “set the example, and do what a president should do.” Now an official with the New Hampshire Democratic Party, Sullivan said that “voters can draw their own conclusions” from that.

Biden’s trip was full of emotional moments, and the president grew heavy-eyed after meeting with World War II veterans. A 21-gun salute cast eerie smoke over 9,388 white marble headstones at the Normandy American Cemetery.

“This has been the most remarkable trip that I’ve ever made,” Biden said on Saturday night, his last in Paris before returning to the U.S.

At Aisne-Marne, Biden said the trip “surprised me how much it awakened my sense of why it’s so valuable to have these alliances. Why it’s so critical. That’s the way you stop wars, not start wars.”

His remarks over the last few days were also freighted with political overtones.

On Thursday at Normandy anniversary ceremonies, Biden said D-Day served a reminder that alliances make the United States stronger, calling it “a lesson that I pray we Americans never forget.” He also highlighted how the war effort drew on immigrants, women and people of color who were too often overlooked by history.

Then on Friday, he went to Pointe du Hoc, a spot on the coast where Army Rangers scaled cliffs to overcome Nazi defenses on D-Day that was also the site in 1984 of one of President Ronald Reagan’s most memorable speeches about the struggles between the West and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

By following in an iconic Republican’s footsteps, Biden honed his appeal to traditional conservatives who are often frustrated by Trump’s isolationist vision. Biden issued a call for Americans to protect democracy like the Rangers who scaled the cliffs, a message that synced with campaign rhetoric that paints his election opponent as an existential threat to U.S. values.

While Biden was in France, his campaign announced that it had hired the onetime chief of staff to former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger to lead outreach to GOP voters. Kinzinger clashed with Trump’s foreign policy and efforts to overturn the last presidential election.

At Pointe du Hoc, Biden said the Army Rangers “fought to vanquish a hateful ideology in the ‘30s and ‘40s. Does anyone doubt they wouldn’t move heaven and earth to vanquish hateful ideologies of today?”

Trump has argued that the U.S. needs to devote more attention to its own problems and less to foreign alliances and entanglements. He has also routinely played down the importance of American partnerships, suggesting the U.S. could abandon its treaty commitments to defend European allies if they don’t pay enough for their own defenses.

Douglas Brinkley, a presidential historian who wrote a book about Pointe du Hoc and Reagan’s speech, said Biden “had big shoes to step into” by choosing the same location.

Biden’s speech “didn’t equal Reagan’s in grandeur, nor could it,” Brinkley said. Still, he said Biden “said the right words about why democracy matters.”

Paul Begala, a veteran Democratic strategist, said it could help Biden politically “to stand where Reagan stood.”

He noted that Biden is struggling with younger voters but appears to be gaining strength among older ones who may be more receptive to reminders of Reagan’s speech four decades ago.

“He needs a lot of Reagan Republicans to offset his challenges with younger voters,” he said.

Biden’s trip was also punctuated by the pomp of a state visit in Paris.

French President Emmanuel Macron arranged a ceremony at the Arc du Triomphe, where four fighter jets flew overhead, and hosted a banquet at the Elysee presidential palace.

“United we stand, divided we fall,” Macron said in toasting Biden. “Allied we are, and allied we will stay.”

Overall, Biden’s visit had a slower pace than other foreign trips. The 81-year-old president had no public events on his first day in Paris after arriving on an overnight flight, and didn’t hold a press conference with reporters, as is customary. John Kirby, a national security spokesman, said that was necessary to prepare “in advance of the weighty engagements” during subsequent days.

“There’s a lot on the calendar,” he said.

Still, it was a contrast to Macron’s tendency to offer prestigious guests an intense schedule with a mix of official meetings, business talks, cultural events and private dinners at fancy restaurants.

When the 46-year-old French leader hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping last month, the two-day agenda was crammed with activities including a trip to the Pyrenees Mountains near the border with Spain where Macron spent time as a child.

Road trip food — Author creates cookbook for motorcycle travel

While writing her cookbook, author Amanda Zito wanted to include resources and information, alongside camp recipes. (Photo courtesy of Amanda Zito)

Amanda Zito's new cookbook, inspired from her time solo traveling on her motorcycle. (Photo courtesy of Amanda Zito)

Amanda Zito got into motorcycles because she couldn’t bring her horses to Portland.

A sixth-generation girl from a ranching family in Corvallis, she left the horses behind when she moved to Oregon in 2010 to attend college. From there, her passion for riding motorcycles, specifically taking them on long-distance trips, continued to grow.

“Motorcycles just seemed like the next best thing to my horses,” she said.

Zito has trailblazed a path for female bikers to connect with the environment through her brand, As the Magpie Flies, which is a creative collection of her experiences. Documenting her travels on YouTube, Zito has crossed into every state in the Lower 48 on a bike, with plans to add Alaska to the list come 2025.

In 2016, Zito finished her bachelor's in fine art and became a tattoo apprentice. After her apprenticeship was over, Zito lived off her motorcycle for 70 days to reset, implementing rules for herself along the way — she could only use paper maps and couldn’t stay in hotels, a rule she had to break when her 1980 bike continued to break down.

“I had this deep-seated feeling she was going to leave me stranded somewhere, and she did multiple times, but that trip was so formative to me,” Zito said.

From that point forward, road tripping on motorcycles has become Zito’s new normal. In 2020, she completed her first cross-country trip, riding to North Carolina and back. In 2022, she crossed the southern United States, traveling from San Diego to Florida, and last fall she looped New England.

On her first trip, Zito lived off of pasta and artichoke hearts. Camping every night with only a single burner, Zito quickly discovered that meals were tricky. It is much more budget-friendly to make food herself, but she wanted to explore ways to expand her options.

Based on her experiences eating on the road, Zito has been for the last two years crafting a cookbook.

“The Motorcycle Camp Cookbook” officially released a few months ago. The self-published book includes over 65 single-serving recipes that redefine traditional camp food. The book, which sold 1,000 copies in the first two weeks, was also a fundraising campaign, raising money for Zito’s upcoming trip to Alaska with her brother.

“That was the big motivation behind the book,” Zito said, “but also to give people the tools they need to make camp food that isn’t just hotdogs or s’mores.”

There was a gap in the market, she said. Cookbooks related to camping were often created with car camping in mind, where a camper could have a big cooler, or to backpacking, which requires a lot of preparation, which isn’t feasible when biking for two weeks, she said.

The “Motorcycle Camp Cookbook” fills in the gap because it includes single-serving meals that do not require a massive cooler or multiple burners. It also includes resources and information, such as information about different types of foods and food safety tips.

“I wanted to make a legitimate resource, not just recipes,” she said.

Zito now lives a semi-nomadic lifestyle, transitioning between Portland and Montana when she isn’t traveling. She looks forward to her upcoming 2025 trip, when she and her brother plan to ride to Alaska, including camping on the Arctic Ocean.

“It’s been incredible,” she said, reflecting on where she is today.

King Charles III Embarks on First Overseas Trip 3 Months After Cancer Diagnosis

King Charles III attended the 80th anniversary of D-Day amid cancer treatment.

life trip youtube

King Charles III made his first overseas trip to the 80th anniversary of World War II’s D-Day landings since he was diagnosed with cancer in France on Thursday, June 6.

“How fortunate we were, and the entire free world, that a generation of men and women in the United Kingdom and other Allied nations did not flinch when the moment came to face that test,” the 75-year-old royal stated in French to the Allied soldiers who seized France that same day in 1944 and led to their and Western Europe’s independence from Nazi, Germany.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla – dressed in white –  French President Emmanuel Macron and France’s First Lady, his wife,  Brigitte Macron at the event in Normandy dressed in his military attire where he continued to share, “On the beaches of Normandy, on the seas beyond, and in the skies overhead, our armed forces carried out their duty with a humbling sense of resolve and determination.”

In his ceremony speech, he paid homage to those who “never came home” and expressed that “our gratitude is unfailing and our admiration eternal.”

The King’s son, Prince William was also in town – at Juno Beach –  to join Justin Trudeau – Canadian Prime Minister – in commemorating the Canadian soldiers who were part of D-Day.  “We continue to honor every Canadian, who gave so much, every Canadian family who lost a loved one…Thank you for our freedom.” He then said in French, which has been translated to English, “Thank you for your service.”

This outing comes three months after the King was diagnosed with cancer. In his statement he noted, “I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days… As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

In addition, the King’s attendance came amid the released statement that the Royal family would not be attending any public gatherings as a result of the general election taking place on July 4. As stated by Buckingham Palace on May 22, “Following the Prime Minister’s [Rishi Sunak] statement this afternoon calling a general election, the royal family will —in accordance with normal procedure — postpone engagements that may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign…Their Majesties send their sincere apologies to any of those who may be affected as a result.”

Britney spears hung out with ex-fiancé jason trawick on recent vegas trip, britney spears vegas reunion with ex-fiancé jason trawick.

Britney Spears has spent time reuniting with her nearest and dearest in recent years, and now you can add her ex-fiancé, and former co-conservator, Jason Trawick to that list ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Britney got together with Jason during her trip to Las Vegas last week with her brother Bryan . We're told she and her bro are still tight with Jason, and they reached out to him to say they were going to be in town and would love to catch up.

Our sources also tell us Jason now lives in Vegas so the meet-up totally made sense -- and they wound up hanging out together, on at least one occasion, at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Jason was a huge rock in Britney's life during their romantic stint from 2009 to 2013. They got engaged in 2011, and even though they called it off ... we're told they've stayed cordial since the split.

We know what you're thinking, but there's nothing romantic going on between them right now -- we're told it's just friendly.

However, it's also true that some people close to Britney are cautiously optimistic about a possible romantic reunion in the future. To be clear, though, our sources stressed that's not where Brit and Jason's heads are right now.

Nonetheless, the Jason hang sounds like it was a nice bonus for Britney, who also documented her fun-filled Vegas spa session with her bro for IG.

Honduras (Engineering LHBH) Summer 2024 - Philip's Story

June 6, 2024

Honduras (Engineering LHBH) Team

Dear Donors, Family, Friends, and Loved Ones,

Thank you all for your support, whether through encouragement with your words, financially giving, or most importantly through your prayers all of what you all have done for us to get to Honduras and back was greatly appreciated. The following is a short glimpse of what our team was able to do with the Lord’s help in Honduras serving Little Hands Big Hearts.

Little Hands Big Hearts is a local Christian group in Trujillo, Honduras that focuses on serving the often neglected group of children with special needs. They hold classes to help these children and their families deal with their special needs all while teaching about Christ. They also run a clinic for the community to do general health practices.

The trip was full of opportunities and displays of the Lord’s hand and provision. Beginning with travel, we knew from the start that it was going to be a tight window from when our flight landed in Roatan, Honduras to get through customs, retrieve checked bags, and get on a shuttle to get on a ferry to mainland Honduras in La Ceiba. Our flight was scheduled to land at 12:30 pm local time and the ferry departed at 2:00 pm. Thankfully, our flight left/arrived early and we landed at 12:10 pm right before another flight that brought a lot of people into the slow moving customs line. The blessing of the landing twenty minutes early would be evident as we arrived at the ferry building exactly 20 minutes before the boat departed, allowing us time to bring the engineering equipment and our materials and get them all checked before going on board. Had the Lord not been with us there we likely would have lost a day of work as we would have been stuck on Roatan.

There were many other moments where the Lord showed his protection and help when needed, whether through breaking the language barrier and helping communication happen smoothly to sweet moments of worship and devotionals that proved God truly is everywhere and moving in mighty ways. It was beautiful to see how God is still present even in different styles of worship than what I am accustomed to. A hymn we sang often that captivated me was “El Mismo Amor” which in English is a Common Love. The song’s lyrics were powerful.

A Common Love For Each Other

A Common Gift To The Saviour

A Common Bond Holding Us To The Lord

A Common Strength When We Are Weary

A Common Hope For Tomorrow

A Common Joy In The Truth Of God’s Word

It was a song that touched my heart as we sang in Spanish and English, helped light a spark in my heart that there can be a unity that doesn’t make sense in the Church that transcends borders and barriers and the Good News could reach the ends of the Earth.

LHBH 1

Our team split into different groups for the work that needed to be done. The main issues that needed to be addressed were electrical issues with a water pump, erosion issues, and water security. Aaron Hardy mainly worked with Ricky Cadena on the electrical issues and were able to fix issues with the pump and explain troubleshooting to the locals.

LHBH 2

Michael Cochrane led the work on erosion remediation. Philip Lamartiniere spent a lot of time working under Michael, though most of the team ended up helping with erosion remediation at one point due to the scale of the work it required. Reece Boyd, Kevin Mendez, and Van Uk did a lot of work in surveying and photogrammetry to help evaluate the land and help Dr. Wilson (who did work in just about every aspect of this project). with future planning for water security and other future projects. Heidi Wright helped with a lot of logistical work and making sure we didn’t burn ourselves out during the project. Before the trip Mariluz Rivera Dorado helped organize the team and helped with a lot of logistical things, communicating between Little Hands Big Hearts and our team as well as sharing verses of encouragement before our departure. A lot of their work was unseen, but very important in helping the project get done. Erosion and surveying work took a majority of the time of our project, thankfully erosion remediation finished on Friday, while surveying work finished on Saturday, our last work day.

LHBH 3

It was a wonderful opportunity to be able to use engineering to serve others, especially those of the household of faith. It was an eye opener to see that engineering, (and all fields or vocations) all can (and should) be used for the Kingdom of God. All of our vocations can be used for good, and be gateways for us to share the Gospel with the people in our lives. Whether in Nashville, Albuquerque, Lexington, Honduras, or anywhere else in the world.

LHBH 4

To keep this brief, I’d like to leave an encouragement/reminder to you all (and myself) to use whatever our respective field as a means to do good work the Lord is calling us to and use the opportunities our job gives us to spread the Gospel, locally and globally.

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Galatians 5:10)

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? (Romans 10:14)

LHBH 5

Thank you all again for all your support, please continue to pray for the Little Hands Big Hearts organization and for us all to continue to be on mission for the Lord, even though we’re back in the U.S.
