Our Wild River Hells Canyon Tour gets you to the heart of the deepest canyon in North America. Our tour boats blast through class 1-5 white water safety while you enjoy the beauty and wildlife that The Snake River of Hells Canyon offers. All of our tours include a amazing homemade lunch and refreshing drinks. Our tours leave from Pittsburg Landing, the separation point of the wild and scenic sections of Hells Canyon. We also offer convenient shuttles from our office in White Bird to Pittsburg Landing. The drive over the mountain pass is known for wildlife and views.

Why You Should See Hells Canyon from a Jet Boat

To begin with all tours begin in the heart of Hells Canyon therefore we have no wasted time trying to get to the best parts. All our United States Coast Guard (USCG) certified boats are built specifically for what we do and offer safe and spacious seating for all our customers. We have the only tour boat with a bathroom on board that leaves from our location.

Our knowledgeable and friendly USCG captains make a point to not only teach what we know about Hells Canyon but strive to get to know our clients at the various stops along the river. We want you to feel like you are spending a day in Hells Canyon with old friends.

What to Expect from Your Tour

Last, our lunch includes a home style meal consisting of Mom’s famous BBQ, sides, and dessert. We offer options for all diet choices and restrictions please just notify us at the time of booking.

How Long Does the Tour Last?

We try to keep our tours to 6 hours but depending on group size and how much exploring is being done at our stops, sometimes we run a little longer or shorter.  During our low water months July and August our start times may be later in the day due to flow rates from Hells Canyon Dam. White Bird is in the heart of Idaho approximately 4 hours from most major cities Boise, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Tri-Cities, and Missoula are all about the same travel time from White Bird, Idaho. You may want to consider spending a night or two in our area.

If you are planning to stay in White Bird the night before your tour, there are a variety of different lodging options. River View Cabins are right on the Salmon River as is the Salmon River Resort while the Confluence Resort offers easy access to Highway 95 and White Bird Motel puts you in the heart of downtown White Bird. Deer Creek pines RV park, Salmon River Resort and Swiftwater RV are all excellent options for our customers that are campers.

Worth every penny and every minute! Everything about this trip was wonderful. The boat seats were comfortable and the boat felt safe as it navigated the rapid waters. Our pilot, Eric, and his 1st mate Randy really went out of their way to make everyone feel engaged and welcome. Eric was so knowledgeable about so many aspects of the river, as well as all manner of flora, fauna and history. His passion for the area is evident but never preachy. He spoke just the right amount, injected some clean humor, and made the trip so enriching. The stop off points were lovely as well as the lunch provided. The onboard restroom was surprisingly nice. We did the half – day trip and it was just the right length of time for hubby and I, who are in our mid-late 60’s. Would do it again without hesitation.

This half day is great for people on the run. If you don’t have the time to spend the whole day taking in the beauty of Hells Canyon; at least get a peak at the splendor while having a fun afternoon. Great for those with very small children and those with pets they have to leave behind.

Dug Bar is the historic location where Chief Joseph led his people from Oregon, across the Snake River, to Idaho. The Chief was leading his people to the Lapwai Indian Reservation per orders from the U.S. Army. The events before and after this crossing led to numerous battles and one of the greatest retreats in military history.

Half Day Trip Half day trip up Hell’s Canyon with Cameron and Nate was one of the best tours we have ever been on anywhere. They shared history of the entire canyon, made sure everyone on the boat had viewings of wildlife, rock formations, petroglyphs. The lunch spot was beautiful and a great boxed lunch. Once you step onto one of our jet boats or rafts, you’re truly in the wild. Preparation is key to a great, fulfilling Hells Canyon experience. The water. You can expect to encounter all classes of rapids, from wavy Class I to heart-pounding Class V. You can expect to get wet on both our rafts and jet boats. We’ll do our best to keep you dry if the weather is cold. Meals. We serve family-style meals at one of our favorite spots in Hells Canyon. Our house-made, fresh food can be made to accommodate specific dietary needs. Tell us about your restrictions while booking. Weather. Hells Canyon earns its name: You can experience all four seasons, including extreme heat or cold, in a short period of time. The weather can change quickly in Hells Canyon.
