Indie duo The Front Bottoms will be hitting the road again later in 2023 to support their next album 'You Are Who You Hang Out With'. The 40-date trek kicks off August 1st in St. Louis and continues into November making U.S. stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta and New York. Canadian shows are planned for Montreal and Toronto. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guests Kevin Devine, Vundabar and Slothrust. The band recently wrapped up a brief U.S. tour earlier this year which was joined by AJJ.

The Front Bottoms (formed in 2007) is an American indie punk band that combines pop, rock and punk influences with witty and often surreal wordplay, hailing from New Jersey, U.S.

After finishing his first year of college, vocalist, guitarist and lyricist Brain Sella, along with childhood friend and drummer Mathew Uychich, began playing together under the moniker The Front Bottoms. They had been writing songs since sixth grade and first performed together at their high school talent show, playing an original song and a Modest Mouse cover. Before long Uychich’s brother, also named Brian, joined the band playing keyboard. In 2007 the EPs “This is Ours but You Can Have It” and “You’re My Boyfriend Now” were released, along with a year later their debut studio album “I Hate My Friends".

The band supported the releases, initially with local shows around New Jersey, before working their way along the East Coast, playing anywhere that would have them. After releasing their second DIY album “My Grandmother vs. Pneumonia” in 2009 and the EP “Slow Dance to Soft Rock”, Brian Uychich left the Front Bottoms to focus on his education. In 2011 the band signed with independent New Jersey label Bar/None Records, who issued their eponymously-titled label debut in September of that year.

The band made a name for themselves for their extensive touring, enlisting the help of bassist and backing vocalist Tom Warren and guitar, trumpet and keyboard player Ciaran O’Donnell to do so.

The Front Bottom’s released their fourth full-length album “Talon of the Hawk” in May 2013, inspired by the character Hawk from the David Lynch TV series “Twin Peaks”. The album earned a critical response from the musical press and spawned the video and single “Twin Sized Mattress”. The band has subsequently issued the EP “Rose” released in June 2014 again on Bar/None Records.

Live reviews

As a very small girl, going to one of The Front Bottom's concerts was pretty rough. Pretty much the entire crowd was a giant mosh pit. That being said, it was the best concert I've ever been to. Brian's voice was exactly as it sounds on their records, even better if that's possible. They were so happy to be there with all of us and it just made the entire experience incredible. I met Matt and Brian after the show and got pictures and they were the absolute sweetest people. Matt gave me a plastic flower from the set and they were just so cute and happy that people enjoyed themselves. If you ever get the chance to see The Front Bottoms live-- do it. It was the best concert experience I've ever had.

Incredible! Just as good in person as on their albums, and they played quite a few songs. West Virginia, Flashlight, The Beers, and Summer Shandy were my personal favorites because the crowd went fucking insane.

Having said that, an issue more with the venue than anything else is that there was very little ventilation in the room, it was probably about 110 degrees and smelled disgusting and several people passed out. Also, as someone who is very short, the "mosh pit" was kind of dangerous -- I say this because it wasn't so much a pit as just an undulating blob of people who weren't even shoving each other on purpose. I saw a couple people get elbowed in the face.

The show was amazing!!! The front bottoms were nice lads and their music is great! I definitely go see them again. I loved the gig's atmosphere. It was my friends first gig and she loved it too. When they played twin sized mattress, is a moment I will remember. Thank you for a brilliant night!

The gnarwolves, who were supporting them seemed lovely as well and the music was good.

However the other support band, apologies I have none, were quite insensitive about mental health issues. But this didn't ruin the night.

Thank you rock city and the front bottoms for a great evening! Hopefully one day they will be playing arenas with Rod Stewart

The Front Bottoms were amazing! The support was Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band(?) who I'd never heard of but were good. The stage looked amazing, the lighting was brilliant and there was a giant inflated T, F & B. They played some oldies as well as the new album and Brian was really sweet and funny and dedicated a few to Brighton and all round it was just a really cute 7 enjoyable gig! Probably the only thing which was a bit of a letdown was the people there. In front of me was some complete douchebag who kept standing and jumping on me and was totally drunk. However, this is something that can happen at any gig, and I still had a lovely time!

The opening acts before were stellar but nothing compared to the energy that surged through the crowd when the front bottoms jumped on stage. Any notion of personal space was thrown out the door because everyone was pushed into tiny pancakes moving to the same beat. Toes stepped on, hair pulled, and elbows shoved but none of that mattered because the show was just that great. Being 2 feet away from Brian sella and the only thing blocking us from fully colliding was a metal barricade and a poor girl squeezed onto it. Nothing has ever been so exciting and I'm stoked I went! Thanks for a great show The Front Bottoms!!!

I've had the pleasure of being able to see The Front Bottoms live and meeting them twice. Both of them have been by far the best concerts I've been too. I've watched megadeth; Roger Water's, Iron Maiden, Blink-182, Slayer and many more, but there's no concert as unique as The Front Bottoms. Everyone screams along and knows the words of every song. They're also both really nice guys, I've taken pictures with Matt and Brian and got autographs and they don't blow you off like other artists. They make their fans happy and give them a hell of a show full of energy and fun. Any music fan will love to see them.

Fantastic show from The Front Bottoms at the AC Beer and Music Festical 04/01. This band is super energetic and very engaged with the crowd during their live shows. I jumped and danced and screamed my fool head off and had a freaking fantastic time.

I learned to love this band by seeing them open for someone else, and I swear, as great as their recordings are, in their live shows, this band is on a whole other level. If you are on the fence st all about checking out their live show, JUST GO ALREADY.

The Front Bottoms opened for Manchester Orchestra. The band that played before TFB was called Brother Bird. I was really excited to see TFB again after seeing them open for Brand New a while back, but unfortunately they were outshined by both Brother Bird and Manchester. It was a fun show, but the lead singer was pretty hoarse (I won’t begrudge him that) and the set in general was just kind of lackluster. Still a fan though.

Discovered them when they were opening for Brand New at the Bryce Jordan Centar. I ended up enjoying them more than Brand New! Their stage presence is amazing and the lead singers vocals are spot on. They had unique props on stage like a couch and lamps. I would love to go to another one or two of their shows!

the show was okay... they are always very good live and always go off but they went first instead of manchester orchestra and skipped a bunch of the good songs they usually played on this tour .. i was waiting for bops but they didnt slap as hard i thought they would :/

The Front Bottoms Announce North America Tour

 The Front Bottoms will launch their North American Tour on August 1st. Forty shows for fans to hear them.

It was 2006 when in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, childhood friends Brian Sella and Mat Uychich joined to create a music project. The Front Bottoms were born, and their almost 20-year career started. Respectively lead vocalist and guitarist, and drummer Sella and Uychich were soon joined by the later’s youngest brother, Brian Uychich, who worked on the keyboard.

Fast forward to 17 years later, the band is about to drop their sixth album. After singles and hits such as “Twin Size Mattress” and “Lone Star,” the group is ready to release a new project – the first since 2020.

Together with the announcement of a new album, the band shared multiple dates for their upcoming tour!

Touring North America

The Front Bottoms are set and ready to leave for their tour in North America! The group will perform for 40 nights in almost 40 cities all over the northern side of the continent, with events both in The US and in Canada. Specifically, The Front Bottoms will perform two nights in Canada. The first Canadian show is on September 15th in Montreal. The second will be held on September 16th in Toronto. The band will even play one show in Hawaii, on August 16th!

From the first day of August through midway November, the group is ready to entertain our nights with amazing performances. Only a few days before the release of their sixth album, You Are Who You Hang Out With , the tour will start to introduce fans to the band’s latest work. Their first release since 2020, the album will give fans the so long-awaited material that’s needed. However, classics as the band’s hits “Twin Size Mattress” and “Be Nice To Me” will play as well.

In support of the group, Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band, Vundabar and Slothrust will alternate to open The Front Bottoms’ events.

New Jersey emo-folk band The Front Bottoms take their 'Finding Your Way Home' tour on the road. Still riding the success of their 2023 album 'You Are Who You Hang Out With', expect to hear new Front Bottoms tracks alongside their certified emo classics 'Twin Size Mattress', 'Be Nice To Me', and 'Flashlight'.

Formed in 2007 by Brian Sella and brothers Matthew and Brian Uychich, the band have release 7 studio albums, most recently 2023's 'You Are Who You Hang Out With' on the celebrated Fueled By Ramen label. Their uplifting live shows have seen them undertake past tours with rock royalty including Blink-182 and Frank Turner.

The Front Bottoms Add Two More Legs To ‘You Are Who You Hang Out With’ Tour

Fueled By Ramen band The Front Bottoms have announced two additional legs of their of their widely anticipated  “You Are Who You Hang Out With” Tour , which will keep them on the road through the fall.  Leg 2  (9/15 – 10/1) will feature support from Vundabar and see the band performing two-night stands at Boston’s Roadrunner and Philadelphia’s Franklin Music Hall.  Leg 3  (10/20 – 11/11) kicks off on the west coast with Slothrust supporting, and includes stops at Austin’s ACL Live, Nashville’s Marathon Music Works, and concludes with two performances at New York City’s Terminal 5 [admat / tour itinerary below]. Additional special guests for select dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Pre-sale tickets for the new dates will be available starting tomorrow June 7 th  at 12:00PM ET with public on sale beginning June 9 th  at 12:00PM local time. Furthermore, to celebrate the new dates, The Front Bottoms will be releasing a brand new single titled “Punching Bag” this coming Friday, which will be joined by an official music video filmed and directed by the band’s own Brian Sella.  For tickets and more information, visit  www.thefrontbottoms.com .

Last, month The Front Bottoms announced the “ You Are Who You Hang Out With” Tour  –  Part 1  featuring special guests Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band, which includes a special album release show at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre happening August 4 th .  The new tour dates will see The Front Bottoms celebrating their forthcoming new album  You Are Who You Hang Out With  arriving worldwide on August 4 th . The band announced the news of the upcoming release alongside their new single “ Outlook ,” which is available on  all streaming platforms  and features an  official music video  directed / edited by Dad Filmed It can be seen below..

Indie duo The Front Bottoms will be embarking on a massive U.S. tour later in 2024 behind their latest album 'You Are Who You Hang Out With' . Their Finding Your Way Home Tour kicks off September 12th in Boston and extends into December making notable stops in Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Dallas, Orlando and Atlanta. The band recently wrapped up their Ten Years of Rose Tour which took place earlier this year.

The Front Bottoms released their sixth studio album 'You Are Who You Hang Out With' on August 4th, 2023 via Fueled by Ramen. The new album follows up 2020's 'In Sickness & in Flames' which reached #41 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart. Back in 2022, the band toured extensively across America along with special guests The Joy Formidable , Mobley , Slothrust and Sydney Sprague . The following year, their You Are Who You Hang Out With Tour was joined by Kevin Devine , Vundabar and Slothrust .

The track 'Flying Model Rockets' immediately became a hit and made The Front Bottoms one of the newest emerging performers at that moment. The Front Bottoms to Embark on 'Finding Your Way Home Tour'

Pre-sale tickets for the “Finding Your Way Home Tour” are available now, with general on-sale beginning this Thursday, June 27th at 12pm EST.

Fueled By Ramen band The Front Bottoms have announced plans for a U.S. headline tour. Dubbed the “Finding Your Way Home Tour,” the 2024 headline tour kicks off on September 12th with two shows at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, and includes both west & east coast dates for the 2024 iteration of their annual holiday festival Champagne Jam.

This year's Champagne Jam will be held on both coasts for the first time ever, with a two night stand set for the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on November 22nd and  November 23rd, followed by the east coast date on December 14th in Atlantic City, NJ.  Support for the tour and lineups for their annual year-end blowouts will be announced in the coming weeks. Last year, the duo released their celebrated album  You Are Who You Hang Out With . Recorded in multi-week spurts with producer Mike Sapone, both in The Front Bottoms’ New Jersey studio and Ghost Hit Recording in Massachusetts, You Are Who You Hang Out With features the singles “ Emotional ,”  “ Punching Bag ,” “ Outlook ,” and “ Paris .” The latter arrived alongside an official music video which was edited and directed by Dad Filmed It, and captured live moments as well as behind the scenes footage from the band’s album release show at Morrison, Colorado’s Red Rock Amphitheatre –  watch it HERE . Brooklyn Vegan hailed “Outlook” as “a crunchy, catchy, power pop-punk song with that distinct Front Bottoms flair,” while UPROXX attested that “‘Emotional’ shows a new direction, forward-looking and ambitious.” “[It’s] all of the best parts of the Front Bottoms’ aesthetic” raved PASTE, and Consequence urged “there’s plenty more classic Front Bottoms to come.”

The Front Bottoms have announced the “Finding Your Way Home Tour,” a string of US dates slated for fall 2024.

Kicking off in Boston on September 12th, the run extends through the middle of December and boasts dates in Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Las Vegas, Austin, and more before wrapping up in Atlantic City at the east coast edition of Champagne Jam.

A Live Nation pre-sale for The Front Bottoms’ “Finding Your Way Tour” begins on Tuesday, June 25th. The public on-sale is set to follow on Thursday, June 27th via Ticketmaster .

The Front Bottoms — first popularized by songs like “Flashlight” from the band’s 2011 self-titled album, and “Twin Size Mattress” from their 2013 record “Talon of the Hawk” — is an indie rock duo made up of childhood friends Brian Sella and Mat Uychich. Their acoustic-style music is a mix of punk, alternative, and pop genres, evolving from their early D.I.Y. releases, to “Rose,” which just celebrated a 10-year anniversary, and the group’s latest album, “You Are Who You Hang Out With,” from 2023.

The 2024 U.S. tour, titled the “Finding Your Way Home Tour,” is set to play two Michigan shows: Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit (9/17) and GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids (10/18), plus two back-to-back nights at the House of Blues Chicago (10/22-23). The route begins September 12 in Boston, and wraps up on December 14 in Atlantic City.
