ABOUT DANIEL CAESAR

Multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Daniel Caesar is on a journey of self-actualization. He’s built his name across the gamut of contemporary R&B—contemplative soul and evocative rock to intergalactic alternative and understated pop—with artistry at his core. One of the most critically and commercially successful artists today—he’s one of the Top 10 most-streamed Canadian artists of all time on Spotify with over 20 million monthly listeners on the platform and 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube—he’s ready to elevate his artistry in 2023 and beyond. His 2017 debut,  Freudian , was released independently and was a R&B breakthrough, bolstered by the 5x-platinum “Best Part” [feat. H.E.R.] and 3x-platinum “Get You” [feat. Kali Uchis]. Daniel received a GRAMMY® Award for “Best R&B Performance ”  for the former, and the b-side “Blessed” was featured on President Barack Obama’s annual favorites playlist. 2019’s follow up,  CASE STUDY 01  [featuring John Mayer, Brandy, and Pharrell Williams], debuted at number 17 on the  Billboard  Top 200. His first number one hit on the  Billboard  Hot 100 came two years later with Justin Bieber’s megahit “Peaches” [featuring Giveon], amassing billions of streams. 2022’s “Please Do Not Lean” has garnered nearly 70 million global streams to date and received critical acclaim from across the globe, including a “Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year” Juno Awards nomination. In 2023, he returned with a slew of singles, “Do You Like Me?,” “Let Me Go,” and “Valentina,” which set the tone for his new album  NEVER ENOUGH , out now.

Daniel Caesar Announces Dates For 2023 US Tour

Daniel Caesar Performs In Berlin

Check out the dates for Daniel Caesar's massive tour later this year.

Daniel Caesar is finally returning to North America on a massive tour later this year and he's bringing a lot of friends with him. Yesterday, in a new Instagram post the R&B and soul singer dropped the dates for his US performances later this year. The massive 32-date Superpowers World Tour runs from late August until late October and features stops in dozens of US and Canadian cities. The tour also has plenty of guests involved. Along the way, Caesar will play shows with Charlotte Day Wilson, BADBADNOTGOOD, Flying Lotus , Montell Fish, Moses Sumney, Omar Apollo, and Orion Sun.

Artist pre-sale for tickets already started this morning. Tickets will go on sale for the general public on Friday. In the post's caption, Caesar confirms "Finally coming back to North America. Superpowers tour. Love you guys bye." As you'd expect, the comments were flooded with fans shouting out which of the stops on tour they plan to attend. Caesar still has a number of shows to play in Asia as part of the Superpowers World Tour .

Daniel Caesar Hits The Road Again

Daniel Caesar released his new album NEVER ENOUGH back in April. The album featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign , Omar Apollo, serpentwithfeet, and Mustafa. The project debuted at #14 on the Hot 100 and at number 2 on the R&B charts. His biggest moment of chart success came on Justin Bieber 's smash hit "Peaches." The summer jam featured Daniel Caesar and Giveon alongside Bieber went on to become a multi-platinum number-one hit. His collaboration with H.E.R.'s "Best Part" reached number one on the Adult R&B charts.

Daniel Caesar has long been a go-to feature for both pop and rap artists looking for a splash of R&B. On top of Bieber and H.E.R., he's appeared on songs with Anderson. Paak, FKA Twigs, Omar Apollo, Kail Uchis, Jacob Collier, and many more all since 2017. Will you be attending one of the stops on Daniel Caesar's tour? Let us know which one you'll be at in the comment section below.

Daniel Caesar Is Ready To Serenade A City Near You With Massive ‘Superpowers World Tour’

D-Money

Daniel Caesar offered up his heart and soul with the release of his latest album NEVER ENOUGH . Now that he’s thrilled us all through our speakers, he’s ready to do so in person. To that effect, he’s announced that he’ll be embarking on his upcoming Superpowers World Tour this summer and fall.

The ambitious world tour will kick off this July and see the crooner traversing Asia, the United States and Canada. The Asia leg is up first and will mark the first time Daniel has toured Asia since 2018 and see him touching down in several countries. First up, he’ll appear in Seoul for the Have A Nice Trip Festival on July 15th. From there he’ll mix up other festival appearances and standalone dates throughout the continent — including stops in Singapore, Manila, Jakarta and Hong Kong — before wrapping the first leg up in Niigata, Japan for the Fuji Rock Festival .

After taking a month off, the tour will start its second leg on August 29th in Indianapolis. He’ll then hop all across the U.S. and Canada as he makes sure to stop everywhere he can in the two countries until mid-October. That includes dates in Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver and Washington, D.C.

The tour will also feature a number of supporting acts, including Montell Fish and Orion Sun . Those attending his New York, Toronto and Los Angeles dates are in for special treats, however. In New York, he’ll be supported by Montell Fish and GRAMMY-nominated rising star Omar Apollo . In Toronto, he’s invited BADBADNOTGOOD , Moses Sumney and Charlotte Day Wilson onto the bill. Los Angeles, meanwhile, will see Flying Lotus and Orion Sun join Daniel on the stage.

Tickets for the Superpowers World Tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 16th at 9 a.m. local time. Those who can’t wait that long, however, will want to subscribe to the singer’s newsletter to take advantage of the pre-sale, which opens at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 13th. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster or Daniel’s own website , where you can also find more information about the tour. Check out the full list of dates below.

Daniel Caesar never disappoints lyrically, musically everythingly lol. I saw him perform at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta and I was blown away. Koffee's performance surprised me as his opening act only because I had no idea she was touring with him. She's amazing and I'm so happy he chose to tour with her all while she is blowing up Jamaica with her authentic, organic onstage presence. Now back to Daniel. Omg he is so spontaneous and he doesn't follow the norm. As he graced the stage with his performance, he opened with two of my favorite songs...I was like omg i thought i'd have to wait until the end of the show. I was sipping on a rum and coke and it made the performance magically pierced my inner soul. He is in total real form and has the most beautiful voice when he sings live. Yes, he can actually sing. Halfway thru the show he sits in a stool and played the guitar - omg I fell in love all over again. If i had the time and money I would travel to every venue so I could recreate the moments I experienced at his concert. He is so talented and gifted. I wish him all the success in the world!

I saw Daniel Caesar live on January 31st, 2018 in Paris, in a nightclub called Yoyo and it was incredible! The setlist included "We'll always have Paris", Daniel dedicated it to the crowd and to his "Praise Break" (eg his first project) fans which was so thoughtful. His band was out of this world, they were all extremely talented and an incredible mash-up of Get You and Best Part appeared at the end of the concert and really was the epitome of it. His voice sounded just like on the album, it was just pure raw talent. I highly recommend seeing him if he comes to your town!

An absolutely breathtaking talent.

The concert started with a little delay of around 10 minutes, which isn’t that bad. He performed new and old songs and plus since it was his last concert in the European leg of the tour, he sang more than in other cities. Amazing vocals and his back singers are wonderful as well! The audience in Madrid was very active, singing along all the song (except for one new that he performed and btw it’s beautiful).

I would definitely recommend going to see him if you like this type of music.

I loved every moment of that night. Absolutely one of my favorite concerts ever. The lighting and visuals were stunning and set the vibe for the entire show perfectly. Definitely an even bigger fan of Daniel after this concert. Much respect for him; he sounds exactly like the recording, if not better. I enjoyed how the venue was outdoors as well. It was a fun, open, an cozy environment for a concert that matched its energy. My only complaint is that the whole experience felt way too short. 11/10 would go to another show of his.

Daniel Caesar is without a doubt an underrated artist. His voice and his lyrics are out of this world and it was amazing to see that the french crowd recognized it. The concert started with some of the best tracks of his latest album. However, Daniel did not miss melodies from previous phases and delighted the crowd with his most successful singles, Get you and Best part. Back up vocals and his band also performed amazingly. Thankfully he came back for an encore. Still the crowd wanted more, but overall it was a great show.

Multiple problems. The tickets said 6.30 for everyone, but then we were forced to wait an hour outside. When we got in, the worst dj in the world played. Then, when Daniel Caeser finally got on, the sound system was so bad you couldnt hear him and the singing was mediocre. Looking back at videos the singing sounds better than it was. The dj played more than Daniel and I just wanted the night to end. Guess I got what I paid for, £12.

Daniel sounds exactly the same live, tickets were an extremely good price. He sang every song off his album, which I was very happy about. I just wish he had backing singers to emphasise his songs that had gospel vocals in the background. I also would have preferred an opening artist that sings rather than a DJ to set the vibe of the concert.

I would see again!

He had a pop-up show he announced 2 hours before it started and I swear I've never rushed so fast to get somewhere. His voice is angelic, knows how to intrigue a crowd and overall it was amazing. Even people just walking by had to stop and listen till he was done. Wonderful experience can't wait to see him again this December.

the support act had the same vibe to daniel's music so was a fitting artist. the music sounded incredible live, and the musicians with the background singers made everything come together. even though i sat far back, i could see everything on stage clearly. one of the best nights .

Incredible.

Daniel's voice, his personality, the lyrics... he's truly a full package. One of the most genuine artists I've seen in a while.

He (and his band!!!!!) absolutely killed it. Looking forward to seeing them again when I'm back in the states for a full concert.

Daniel Caesar Superpowers World Tour Leg 2 Seattle Washington

Daniel Caesar

His 2017 debut, Freudian, was released independently and was a R&B breakthrough, bolstered by the 5x-platinum “Best Part” [feat. H.E.R.] and 3x-platinum “Get You” [feat. Kali Uchis]. Daniel received a GRAMMY® Award for “Best R&B Performance” for the former, and the b-side “Blessed” was featured on President Barack Obama’s annual favorites playlist. 2022’s “Please Do Not Lean” has garnered nearly 70 million global streams to date and received critical acclaim from across the globe including a “Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year” JUNO nomination. In 2023 he returned with a pair of singles “Do You Like Me?” and “Let Me Go” which set the tone for his anticipated new album NEVER ENOUGH due in April.

Daniel Caesar has announced the third leg of his “Superpowers World Tour,” expanding it to Australia, Asia, and Hawaii. Australia and Hawaii tickets are available for general onsale starting Friday, October 13 at 10am local time.

Tickets for the Asian tour dates will go on-sale with different timelines per market. In Taipei, general onsale is Wednesday, October 18 at 12pm CST. In Seoul, general onsale begins Thursday, October 19 at 12pm KST. In Bangkok, general onsale starts Monday, October 30 at 10am ICT. For Tokyo, general onsale begins Saturday, November 18 at 10am JST.

The first two legs of the sold-out North American tour offered a unique look at Daniel’s artistry and singular vision. For the first few songs of each show, he performed behind a sheer white curtain, adding a celestial quality to the performance. As a seasoned multi-instrumentalist, he took full command of the stage, offering the tens of thousands of attendees piano ballads and guitar solos with a stripped-down quality, yet almost otherworldly precision.

The Best Jodeci Songs: Groundbreaking Tunes Serving Sex and Soul

Patti labelle: pop’s unrealized superstar, montell jordan celebrates 40 years of def jam with ‘this is how we do it’ with vinyl reissue.

The set design displayed raw camera footage of fans singing along and his band entering and exiting the stage at each show. His ability to effortlessly switch between genres, from the sultry R&B of “Get You” to the gospel-infused “Blessed,” is remarkable and puts his versatility on full display.

The tour follows on the heels of his highest-charting album to date, NEVER ENOUGH , which debuted at No.2 on Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart and Top 15 on Billboard 200 Chart upon release and maintained his status as one of Spotify’s top 200 streamed artists worldwide.

Album highlights include “Always,” which continues to dominate Billboard Hot R&B and Adult R&B Airplay charts. NEVER ENOUGH is an examination of Daniel’s insatiable perfectionism and juxtaposes his self-scrutiny in relationships with his characteristically reassuring vocals.

The project was recorded in part in Canada, New York, London, and Los Angeles, and the concept was largely conceived in France. He cites the hero’s journey in Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist as a major influence. NEVER ENOUGH was produced in part by Raphael Saadiq and Daniel’s brother Zachary Simmonds.

Notebook: Pogačar Now One of Cycling’s Greats, but did Merckx-like Domination Make it a Boring Giro d’Italia?

Tour de hoody: there is nothing humdrum about pogačar's winning panache, even if this giro's gc fight was essentially a done deal..

Tadej Pogačar powered his way into the history books this month with his crushing and electrifying victory at the Giro d’Italia .

The plaudits came rushing in for the Slovenian superstar, and rightly so. All hail cycling’s new Caesar.

No rider in modern cycling is dominating and delighting cycling in such an exhilarating and breathtaking way as the 25-year-old from UAE Team Emirates. Even if he was backed by what some called the “B-squad,” no one came close to Pogačar across three weeks of near-flawless racing.

His biggest enemy was a mid-race case of the sniffles, so gigantic was his winning pink jersey advantage.

Pogačar is clearly the rider of this new century in men’s racing. Sorry, Peter Sagan or Chris Froome , no one else is coming close to crushing and remaking racing the way “Pogi” is.

His winning margin of 9:56 is the largest since 1965, when Vittorio Adorni beat Italo Zilioli by 11:26. The previous best was Ivan Basso, when he walloped José Enrique Gutiérrez by 9:18 in 2006.

Ever modest and like a good student, always saying the right things, Pogačar was at his trademark aw-shucks best Sunday in Rome.

“I am speechless, it’s hard to describe this moment,” Pogačar said, as he took a perfunctory bite out of the Giro’s unique winner’s trophy.

Pogačar dominated this Giro from start to finish, and wore pink 20 out of 21 days. Only Jhonatan Narváez (Ineos Grenadiers) stopped what would have been the first start-to-finish pink jersey sweep since Gianni Bugno last ran the tape in 1990.

Six stage wins — and three other top-3s — is a haul typically seen from the Giro’s sprinters, like Mario Cipollini or Alessandro Petacchi at their fastest best on the flats.

Pogačar also won the King of the Mountains jersey, and it’s only now that he’s 25 that he’s locked out of the best young rider’s category as well.

More statistics help to paint the picture of this new, ever expansive Pogačar era.

With now 20 stage wins in grand tours, Pogačar surpassed compatriot Primož Roglič, who boasts 19. Only Mark Cavendish , the British sprinter who is chasing the “Merckx record” this summer at the Tour de France , only has more among active riders, with 54.

His grand tour record is equally impressive. Since his third place in his grand tour debut at the 2019 Vuelta a España, Pogačar won two yellow jerseys, and his first pink in his Giro debut this month.

In six grand tours, he’s won three, finished second twice, and third once. A run at the Vuelta seems imminent, but UAE officials are saying there’s no way it will be this year. He’s also now won stages in all three grand tours.

Rivals can only tip their collective hat at Pogačar in what’s a near-universal chapeaux from across the peloton.

“He’s the best I’ve ever raced with, and I’ve raced with a lot of good guys,” third-place warhorse Geraint Thomas said Saturday. “He’s so versatile and aggressive, all year round. Not like me, peaking for just a few months a year. It’s insane how talented he is.”

Unlike cycling’s past, when a big patron like Bernard Hinault would dominate and bully the peloton, Pogačar wins without grinding his rival’s noses in it. He was almost apologetic a few times during this Giro when some accused him of being too greedy.

Nothing boring about Pogačar’s panache

Giro d'Italia

Was this Giro “boring” with Pogačar dominating from start to finish? I say absolutely not. In contrast, I think it would have been even less interesting without Pogačar in the race.

At least Pogačar races with panache , and his exploits are built on attacking and aggressive tactics. Some grumbled that he was winning too much, but what are he and UAE Team Emirates supposed to do?

As team boss Joxean Fernández Matxin said, they’re paid to win , and that’s what Pogačar did in near seamless dominance.

Pogačar made this Giro worth remembering, even if the fight for pink was otherwise largely forgettable.

Whether it was gifting his pink jersey to a wide-eyed 20-year-old neo-pro, or dancing to Euro-disco inside the UAE team bus, Pogačar is an actor both on and off the bike.

Whether it’s setting new Strava records — and seeing them flagged — Pogačar is simply fun to watch. He’s no wheel-sucker or a rider that pops off the front with 1km to go chase finish-line bonuses.

#GirodItalia / #Stat La victoire de Pogacar au Giro, une performance d’une autre époque ? 1⃣9⃣ : Dans le cercle fermé des vainqueurs du Giro et du Tour. L’Équipe du 27/05 @DataCycling pic.twitter.com/uTzrZ1valv — Renaud Breban (@RenaudB31) May 27, 2024

Pogačar drops bombs, and dares anyone to come with him.

No one can rival him right now, and instead of sucking the life out of race, he has the uncanny ability to light up any race he’s in even when he is demolishing it.

Now all eyes turn to the Tour de France. With three of the “Big 4” still licking wounds from the devastating crash at Itzulia Basque Country in April, the prospect of Pogačar knocking off the otherwise elusive Giro-Tour double last set by Marco Pantani in 1998 seems more and more likely.

This Giro had a bit of everything, from foul-weather frustration , to a rise of a new generation. No one can argue that a Giro is boring.

Was this an all-time great Giro? Not quite, as there wasn’t a rival to truly challenge Pogačar. However, three weeks of witnessing his pure, joyful, and uninhibited dominance elevates this edition above the average.

Measuring the rivals: Martínez and Thomas, and the best of the rest

Giro GC podium Martinez Pogacar Thomas

You had to feel sorry for anyone going up against Pogačar at his best.

Only a super-loaded Jumbo-Visma and Jonas Vingegaard at his absolute best or Mathieu van der Poel in full classics splendor have been able to topple the Slovenian slayer mano-a-mano .

Geraint Thomas deserves kudos for fighting until the very end to reach a worthy third place, his fifth career grand tour podium spot. “G” turned 38 late in the Giro, and he admitted that this Giro might have been the last true run for victory in a grand tour during his otherwise glittering career.

Ineos Grenadiers leaves the Giro with its collective head held high, with a stage win and pink jersey on stage 1 with Jhonatan Narváez, third overall with Thomas, and a time trial win by Filippo Ganna , who denied Pogačar in stage 14. Though the team never truly mounted a direct attack on Pogačar, the squad’s second in the team classification reflects that despite being overshadowed by generational greats like Pogačar, Ineos Grenadiers remains a force to be reckoned with.

Daniel Martínez also proved a worthy runner-up. Though he too never dared to take it straight to Pogačar, he did have the best legs in his wake, and his second overall reflects an added depth and maturity for the Colombian. The loss of Florian Lipowitz in the first week, and the absence of Lennard Kämna, who was struck by a vehicle in Tenerife even before the Giro started, took a bit of the bite of Bora’s tactics.

Giro d’Italia vintages, 2000-2024* 2000, 2005, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024 2003, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2019, 2022 2011 — Daniel Friebe (@friebos) May 26, 2024

Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale continued its superb 2024 season, with two stage wins, fourth overall with Ben O’Connor, who struggled through illness late in the Giro , and the overall team prize. O’Connor was the only rider who even dared to try to follow Pogačar’s wheel when he attacked, so kudos to him for at least trying.

Italian fans finally had some home-grown names to cheer for. Milan impressed with three wins en route to a defense of his points jersey, and the big sprinter will now reload for a return trip to the Olympic Games as part of Italy’s gold-medal winning team pursuit squad.

Italy won five stages across the Giro, with Filippo Ganna adding a sixth career Giro stage win in the second time trial, and Andrea Vendrame winning out of a breakaway for his second career Giro stage in the closing week.

Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious) fought to fifth overall and won the best young rider’s competition — Pogačar at 25 is now too old for the classification — and Filippo Zana (Jayco-AlUla) just lost a top-10 on the Monte Grappa stage in an otherwise consistent Giro.

Giulio Pellizzari (VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) won a place in the hearts of fans when Pogačar gifted him his pink jersey after the 20-year-old finished second in stage 16.

Honorable mentions: Alaphilippe, Quintana, and Milan and Merlier

Jonathan Milan, Giro d'Italia

While Pogačar dominated the proceedings, others eked out moments of glory for themselves when they could.

The Giro started with the hype that it was the best and deepest sprinter’s field in cycling history, yet two riders — Jonathan Milan and Tim Merlier — proved the fastest and the most consistent.

Both had strong leadouts, with neither Lidl-Trek or Soudal Quick-Step bringing legitimate GC options, though Jan Hirt did punch into the top-10 with eighth for the Wolfpack.

The only other sprinter to win across the three weeks was Olav Kooij (Visma-Lease a Bike) in what proved to be a bust for Caleb Ewan (Jayco-AlUla), Fabio Jakobsen (DSM-firmenich-PostNL), Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck), and Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty).

Soudal Quick-Step actually posted a very solid Giro, capped by three wins by Merlier — who quieted the “haters” by finishing the Giro and winning the final stage in Rome — eighth with Hirt, and a comeback win by fan-favorite Julian Alaphilippe. Now everyone’s hoping “Loulou” will be heading to the Tour de France to help Remco Evenepoel.

Team Movistar had its moments, headlined by a stage victory with Pelayo Sánchez and a revival of sorts from Nairo Quintana, who was second to Pogačar in the “queen stage” to Livigno. The big gossip now is if Movistar will extend Quintana’s one-year contract. Fernando Gaviria was oddly absent in the bunch sprints, either opening up way too soon or getting lost in traffic, with fourth Sunday in Rome as he his best.

With the sprinters and Pogačar eating up many of the stages, only five breakaways managed to hold off the pack, highlighted by Georg Steinhauser, who delivered an emotional coming-of-age victory for EF Education-EasyPost.

Lorena Wiebes unrivaled in London

Lorena Wiebes

It’s not all Giro all the time. The women’s WorldTour continued last week with the three-day RideLondon Classique. And it was no surprise to see Lorena Wiebes sweep all three stages and win the overall.

The victory is the 11th this season by Wiebes, who’s been at or near the top in the bunch sprints all year long. An early celebration cost her victory at Amstel Gold Race in April.

“I had my sights set on the hat-trick. It is always difficult to repeat performances and a hat-trick is even more difficult to achieve,” Wiebes said. “It helps when you have such strong teammates around you. I want to thank them for everything they have done for me. Nice also that we finished one and three in the general classification. It’s fantastic that we proved unbeatable in this RideLondon.”

Wiebes will race in stage races in June and July before a return to the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in August.

How the North Americans fared

Larry Warbasse

It was a solid but perhaps not headline-making Giro d’Italia for the North Americans who started in Torino nearly one month ago.

Michael Woods (Israel Premier Tech) was hoping to complete the grand tour stage-win treble, but he pulled out with illness in the first week. Canadian compatriot Riley Pickrell also abandoned his grand tour debut in week 1.

Kevin Vermaerke made the most of his Giro debut in DSM-firmenich-PostNL colors. The Californian rode into several breakaways, but never quite hit the right one that stuck. A 13th in stage 10 did not accurately reflect his aggressive racing, and he landed in Rome in 29th overall.

Luke Lamperti did well to survive his grand tour debut in his WorldTour rookie season, and played a key role in helping Soudal Quick-Step teammate Tim Merlier win three sprints. After a busy spring that included the northern classics, the Californian will take a well-deserved break.

Another grand tour rookie Magnus Sheffield rode well across three weeks, capped by a personal best third in the first long time trial. After a busy spring that also included other TT podiums, he will take a break ahead of a possible run at Olympic gold in Paris. Will Barta helped Movistar win a stage and he hit a personal best 21st in the first time trial.

Larry Warbasse earned some well-deserved podium time with Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, which enjoyed a great Giro, with the two stage wins, fourth overall with O’Connor, and first in the team competition.
