Your guide to Dallas

You'll want a car when cruising around Dallas. Driving your own set of wheels is the simplest way to check everything off your itinerary, but there are public transportation options available. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) buses and light rail make getting around downtown a breeze, and you can also check out the McKinney Avenue Streetcar Service for a vintage ride around town.

Leave your hat at home and buy a Stetson when you get there; nothing says 'Who shot JR?' like a genuine Texan cowboy hat. You might not fit in with the locals but hey, you're on holidays! Also bring:

  • Formalwear: see a show and possibly rub shoulders with oil tycoons at the Winspear Opera House.
  • Blue and white T-shirt: or you could just buy some Dallas Cowboys supporter wear when you arrive.
  • A hearty appetite: there are so many awesome restaurants in Dallas. Try as many as you can.

Love the heat? Visit June through August, when summer maximums come in at around 95 degrees and minimums sit in the 70s. If you don't think you can handle that, March through May and September through November offer milder conditions, perfect for attending events such as the month-long State Fair of Texas in fall, and the Deep Ellum Arts Festival and the Dallas International Film Festival in spring.

Lovely sunny days, flowers galore and affordable rooms... yes, we're talking about Dallas in the springtime. Temperatures at this time of year tend to stay in the 70s and 80s°F. September's not too shabby here either, with fall foliage combining with warm-but-not-too-warm weather for a pleasant atsmosphere. July and August can get as hot as 95°F, and sometimes even hotter. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Frequently asked questions, can i drink alcohol on board the pedal bar.

You may drink beer and wine on board Bar Bike Dallas. However, please note the following laws and rules so that your group’s activities are lawful and safe:

  • Beer and wine only. Hard cider, lemonade, seltzers and malt beverages are OK!
  • No glass or hard liquor on board. We recommend cans for beer and either boxed wine or a separate plastic container.
  • All alcoholic beverages are BYOB. We cannot provide or sell alcohol.
  • Do not step off board the vehicle with an open container as you will be in violation of public consumption laws and may be cited. All alcoholic beverages must stay on the vehicle!

We aim to provide an amazing time, but your safety is our #1 priority! DO NOT arrive for your party already intoxicated or service may be refused without a refund.

When should we arrive for our pedal bar tour?

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your start time to ensure that we can check you in, get loaded up, and go over the rules to get the tour started on time.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR WAIVERS COMPLETED IN ADVANCE, OTHERWISE YOUR START TIME MAY BE DELAYED. Click here to view and sign the waiver .

Reservations are for the time slot booked. Since we run our tours back to back, private parties that get started late will still finish at the stated end time.

Pub crawls will start and end at the time specified. We cannot wait for stragglers as it is unfair to everyone who showed up on time, and the ticket price will not be refunded. We will attempt to have you meet us at the first bar stop instead if you are running late.

What should we bring with us?

One of the funnest parts of the pedal bar experience is that you can actually bring your own beer and wine on board! But don’t let forgetting a couple of things dampen the experience.

Below are the supplies we recommend bringing with you, along with a few things we can’t have on board.

What To Bring:

  • We have a cooler and provide ice and cups, but you can pack your own cooler if desired
  • Your favorite beer, wine, hard ciders, seltzers, etc.
  • Water to stay hydrated
  • Snacks if desired

Do Not Bring:

  • Glass containers. All alcohol should be in cans, boxed, or in plastic containers
  • Hard liquor and mixed drinks are not allowed on board the buzz bike per city code

Who drives the pedal bar?

Have no fear, an experienced and trained Pedal Bar pilot will drive the bike so your group can focus on partying!

Should we tip the pedal bar pilot?

Your Pedal Bar pilots do work for tips and aim to provide an excellent experience for our guests! You can either add a tip in advance when making your booking, give your driver cash, or let us know to add it to the credit card on file after the party. Many of them also have Venmo or other convenient cashless options! It is always greatly appreciated for a job well done!

Is there music on board?

Yes! We have a rocking sound system and LED lights for the perfect party ambiance. Our tablet that hooks up to the system is full of music from every genre with tons of songs and playlist options for you to choose. Make sure to bring a good DJ!

How many people can ride?

We can fit a maximum of 15 passengers on board the bike, but require a minimum of six people to pedal the pedal saloon. Non-private parties and pub crawls (based on individual tickets) are tentative until we have the minimum number of riders.

We will notify you 24 hours in advance if the reservation cannot be confirmed and will issue a refund if that is the case. We recommend being flexible with the time so that we can pair you up with other groups to reach the minimum needed! Individuals or groups that are too small to be confirmed MAY be bumped to another time in favor of a confirmed private party and we will notify you if that occurs. In that case, you will have the option of getting a refund or changing times.

There are a total of 10 pedaling seats and 5 non-pedaling seats. So if you have someone in your group that can’t pedal, no problem!

Is there an age requirement?

Pub Crawl Age Requirement The minimum age for all parties booked by individual seat involving alcohol, including pub crawls, is 21 years of age or older. Riders must present valid ID to the pilot when showing the release waiver before the party begins.

Private Party Age Requirement Private parties may have people under the age of 21 on board. If alcohol is involved, the people under 21 may not be consuming alcohol and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is responsible for the minor. If at any time a minor is suspected of consuming alcohol by the pilot, the reservation will be immediately terminated and no refund will be issued.

Infants and children who require a car seat will not be allowed on board the bar bike. Children under the age of 12 may be required to sit on the back bench with the seat belt on.

Where do we start and end?

In general, unless otherwise noted on your reservation, all parties begin at our location in Deep Ellum. Pub crawls drop off at your third bar stop. Private parties may end at our location or end at a spot of your choosing near our location in Deep Ellum.

Can my group sign the rider waiver in advance?

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR WAIVERS COMPLETED IN ADVANCE, OTHERWISE YOUR START TIME MAY BE DELAYED. Click here to view and sign the waiver . You may send this link to your party ahead of time so that they may complete their waivers, as well.

Upon completion, you will receive a verification email that your waiver is complete. Please have your photo ID ready at check-in to verify that your waiver has been completed.

Where can we take the pedal bar and how long is each stop?

Private parties can take the pedal bar to any stop that they want to go to in our operating area! If you have a few favorite bars, just let the pilot know where to go. Want to try something new? Ask the pilot for a recommendation! Most groups can make it to up to three stops with about 25 minutes at each stop.

Pub crawls with multiple groups on board have a set itinerary of three bar stops that cannot be changed.

Is it really pedal powered?

Yes! We encourage you to pedal to make the bike move. It’s great for the environment and your calorie count. The bike is also equipped with an electric motor to help the riders. It’s a lot easier than it looks!

Do I need a reservation to ride?

Yes! We run based on reservations only, which you can make through our online booking system or by calling us. We recommend planning ahead as we are often booked in advance for popular weekend time slots!

Parties booked by individual seat such as pub crawls require payment of the full amount at the time of reservation.

How long is the reservation?

Reservations are typically for two hour intervals unless otherwise specified or additional time is purchased. Time customization can sometimes be done with large company groups or Sunday – Thursday by request.

Please arrive for your reservation 20 minutes before the start time to check-in, verify waivers, go over the rules, and ensure prompt departure.

Reservations are for the time slot booked. Since we run our parties back to back, private parties that get started late will still finish at the stated end time.

I didn’t receive an email after making my reservation. Help!

Never fear! Just give us a call and we will verify that we have the correct email address on file to send you a new one.

My reservation email says “pending” or “on hold”. What does that mean?

If your reservation email says Confirmed , no further action on your part is necessary.

Reservation emails that say Pending either still require payment in order to be confirmed or have not reached the minimum number of riders to be confirmed.

Please note that pending reservations are NOT confirmed until you receive an email specifying that you are confirmed. Individuals or groups that are too small to be confirmed MAY need to be moved to another time in favor of a confirmed private party, and we will notify you if that occurs. In that case, you will have the option of changing times or getting a refund.

For smaller groups, we recommend being flexible with your reservation time, as often we can pair up small groups together at a different time in order to make the tour happen!

On Hold emails mean you have joined a waiting list and the time slot is not yet available. All customers with pending and on hold bookings will be notified 24 hours before the start time as to whether or not their booking is confirmed.

Can I cancel or change my reservation?

You may call or email us to cancel your reservation up to 14 days before your reservation date and receive a full refund. You may call or email us to reschedule your reservation date, subject to availability, up to 14 days before your reservation date.

We cannot cancel or reschedule less than 14 days from the reservation date. Any payments made will be forfeited in the case of cancellation within 14 days of the reservation date and any balances owed will still be charged 14 days prior to the booked date.

If your reservation is rescheduled, we cannot reschedule or cancel a second time. These bookings will still be charged the full amount. Make sure to cancel or reschedule in advance if you need to!

Reservations utilizing three or more bikes must pay a 50% non-refundable down payment to hold each bike. This amount will not be refunded at any point if bikes are cancelled. Full payment will be due 14 days in advance and is non-refundable.

What is the weather policy?

We ride rain or shine, but for safety we cancel if there is lightning or other severe weather. Don’t worry — you won’t be pedaling around in a tornado! If we have to cancel the reservation based on severe weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund or rain check for another date.

Please dress appropriately for predicted weather conditions. Weather cancellations are not made until right before your reservation’s scheduled start time, as weather can be unpredictable.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for predicted weather conditions. We do recommend closed-toed shoes for comfort though it is not required. We also recommend not wearing high heels or long, flowing dresses!

Please dress appropriately for predicted weather conditions. We do recommend closed-toed shoes for comfort though it is not required. We also recommend not wearing high heels or long, flowing dresses!

Someone in my group can’t pedal. Can they still ride?

There are a total of 10 pedaling seats and 5 non-pedaling seats, including a back bench. So if you have someone in your group that can’t pedal, no problem!

Reservation Policies

Policy enforcement.

The Party Bike Captain for your party is in charge at all times and will enforce the following policies. It is also the responsibility of the person who booked the tour to help the captain in hosting the group in order to maintain a fun and safe experience.

Reservation Policy

Upon making a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email for your order. Please double-check your email address before submitting your booking.

Confirmation emails that say Confirmed are confirmed and no further action is required on your part.

Emails that says Pending either still require payment to be confirmed or have not reached the minimum number of riders to be confirmed. Please note that pending reservation are NOT confirmed until you receive an email specifying that you are confirmed. Individuals or groups that are too small to be confirmed MAY be moved to another time in favor of a confirmed private party, and we will notify you if that occurs. In that case, you will have the option of changing times or receiving a refund.

For smaller groups, we recommend being flexible with your reservation time if you do not have enough people to be confirmed, as often we can pair up small groups together at a different time in order to make it happen!

If you did not receive a confirmation email, please give us a call to verify your email address and confirm.

Arrival Time

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your start time to ensure that we can check you in, get loaded up, and go over the rules to get your party started on time.

Credit card fraud and all corresponding communications, electronic, and video evidence will be reported to the police. IDs and the credit card used to book must be present and will be checked / verified unless otherwise approved by management.

For private group parties, a 50% down payment is charged upon reservation. The remaining balance will be charged to the credit card on file 14 days before the booked date.

Individual seat reservations are charged the full price upon booking.

For refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling, please see our cancellations and refunds policy below which you agree to when making a reservation with Dallas Party Bike.

Cancellations & Refunds

We cannot cancel or reschedule less than 14 days from the reservation date. Any payments made will be forfeited in the case of cancellation within 14 days of the reservation date.

Reservations utilizing three or more bikes must pay a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold each bike. This amount will not be refunded at any point if bikes are cancelled. Full payment will be due 14 days in advance and is non-refundable.

Alcohol Policy

The Dallas Party Bike operates like a party bus service — you may BYOB beer, wine, and seltzers on board! We have the following policies in order to ensure both a fun, safe and legal experience. Observance of these policies is required for all groups:

  • Beer and wine only. Seltzers, hard lemonade, canned cocktails like High Noons, and malt beverages are OK!

Participant Waiver

All participants must provide a valid photo ID at the time of the reservation and sign a rider waiver. If you booked a private group reservation, can send the “pre-arrival waiver” link to the rest of your party for them to have it completed ahead of time, as well. This link was sent to you in a separate email after making your Dallas Party Bike reservation.

NOTE: To stay on schedule, please arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of your reservation in order to have everything ready by the time your party is supposed to start.

Weather Policy

We ride rain or shine, but for safety we cancel if there is lightning or other severe weather. Don’t worry — you won’t be pedaling around in a monsoon! If we have to cancel the tour based on severe weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund or rain check for another date.

Weather cancellations are not made until right before your tour’s scheduled start time, as weather can be unpredictable.

Inappropriate Behavior Termination

Inappropriate behavior by participants will result in termination of the party for the entire group. Your party bike captain has sole discretion on terminating a party for misbehavior. Groups who have their party terminated for any reason will not receive a refund and will incur a $100 early termination penalty fee.

These behaviors include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Being physically or verbally abusive or disrespectful to your party captain.
  • Excessive intoxication — do not show up already intoxicated or you will be denied service without a refund!
  • Do not become excessively intoxicated along the way or you will be removed. Pace yourself!
  • Removing open containers of alcohol from the bike onto the street
  • Bringing alcohol off-premises from the bar stops
  • Providing alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 or on the street
  • Bringing glass or hard liquor on board in violation of local ordinances
  • Jumping off the vehicle while it is in motion or in traffic
  • Using vulgar language at pedestrians, the police, or other drivers
  • Standing or hanging on the bike (you must stay seated when moving with your seat belt on)
  • Any other inappropriate behavior or violation of local, state and federal laws

Remember—Your party bike captain is in charge and must be respected at all times! Make sure to have a good time, but use common sense and obey the rules!
