Cnn studio tour.

This tour of the world's largest newsgathering organization is lots of fun and a uniquely Atlanta experience. The CNN Center is headquarters for CNN, CNN International, and Headline News. During 50-minute guided walking tours, visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at the high-tech world of 24-hour TV network news in action.

You'll find the tour desk in the main lobby near the base of an eight-story escalator. While you're waiting for the tour to begin, you can have a videotape made of yourself reading the day's top stories from behind a CNN anchor desk. The tour starts in an exhibit area where you'll find timelines covering the history of CNN and Turner Broadcasting, interactive kiosks where you can surf the CNN websites or access clips from the top 100 stories that CNN has covered, memorabilia from some of those events, and a journalism ethics display. A theater that re-creates CNN's main control room allows you to experience the behind-the-scenes elements of a news broadcast.

Next, you'll enter a special-effects studio and get a glimpse of the technology that goes into the production of global news. Here you'll discover the magic of a high-tech Blue Chromakey system (it's what's used to broadcast that big map behind the weather folks), see how on-air graphics are made, and learn the secrets of the TelePrompTer.

On another level, visitors get a bird's-eye view of the main CNN newsroom from a glass-walled observation station. From here, you'll see the hustle and bustle of writers composing news scripts. If a live broadcast is in progress -- and chances are good that one will be -- you can see CNN newscasters at work. Tour guides are knowledgeable and can answer virtually any question.

The longer, more extensive VIP tour allows visitors to actually step out onto the main CNN newsroom floor and explore production areas not normally accessible to the public.

After your visit, stop by the Turner Store, which carries network-logo clothing and gift items, along with MGM movie paraphernalia. For sports fans, there's the Braves Clubhouse store, featuring the Atlanta Braves logo on every item you can imagine. There are several restaurants and numerous fast-food outlets in the atrium of the CNN Center, as well as a few shops. Remember that the tour includes quite of bit of walking and a very steep escalator ride, which carries you to great heights to begin your visit. Those afraid of heights might want to consider skipping the tour.

From 2000 to 2023, the Cartoon Network Studios building in Downtown Burbank stood as a vibrant symbol of creativity and a nurturing ground for original animation and artists of diverse talents and backgrounds. It was not merely a workplace, but a canvas for imagination and innovation.

Among the many areas of the building that symbolized this spirit was the, now iconic, artist stairwell. This stairwell was a living testament to the studio’s collective creativity, where anyone from artists to accountants and everyone in between, left their unique mark on the walls in the form of drawings, doodles, and sketches.

While Cartoon Network Studios proudly carries on its legacy in a new space, there were some parts of the original building that we couldn’t bear to lose.

The artist stairwell is now immortalized through this website which presents a ‘flythrough’ 3D tour of the space. We are thrilled to invite you to take a virtual stroll through a piece of animation history.

An Interactive Version Of Cartoon Network’s Iconic Artist Stairwell Is Now Online

Cartoon Network Studios (CNS) launched a new website today, CNStudiosStairwell.com , dedicated to the preservation of the iconic art-filled stairwell in its former downtown Burbank studio.

The building was the home of CNS from 2000 until last year, when operations moved to Warner Bros. Discovery’s new Second Century Development in south Burbank, near the main Warner Bros. lot.

The effort to digitally preserve the stairwell was led by CNS executive producer Calvin Wong ( We Baby Bears ). The company explained more about the project in a press release:

This space was a living testament to the studio’s collective creativity, where anyone from artists to accountants and everyone in between, left their unique mark on the walls in the form of drawings, doodles, and sketches. … [E]very inch of the stairwell was meticulously scanned and photographed, resulting in the creation of an interactive website which presents a ‘flythrough’ 3D tour of the space, allowing animation fans to explore every piece of art. CNS artists, past and present, who contributed to the stairwell will also be able to contribute to the site by submitting annotations to their work via a special link on the page.

“Cartoon Network Studios will always be a home for creators,” said Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. “As we continue to further that legacy in our new buildings, it’s a joy to pay tribute to this beloved space for the animation community to enjoy and continue to be inspired.”

Atlanta will play host to professional pickleball tour event airing over cbs networks.

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America, and fans can watch the PPA Tour that will visit Georgia this weekend for the CIBC Atlanta Slam. Fans can watch the back-and-forth action on CBS networks all weekend.

Go to any park or recreation center near you, and you'll almost certainly hear the sounds of paddles smashing pickleballs at nearly every hour of the day. Pickleball, almost a cross between tennis and ping pong, has grown wildly over the last few years.

The sport has even gotten investments from some big names in the sports world. Back in 2022, NBA stars LeBron James and Kevin Durant, along with NFL legend Tom Brady, invested in professional pickleball teams .

Now, the PPA Tour is bringing the best pickleball players all over the country for fans to see. This weekend, they'll be at Life Time Peachtree Corners for the CIBC Atlanta Slam. As the tournament heats up, CBS Sports will have you covered with quarterfinals, semifinals and championship action from Friday through Sunday.

In men's doubles, top-seeded duo James Johnson and Dylan Frazier will look to keep things rolling against No. 5 seeded Hayden Patriquin and Pablo Tellez. On the women's side, the No. 1 seeded tandem of Catherine Parenteau and Anna Leigh Waters have cruised through to the quarterfinals. Will they meet any resistance prior to the title match?
