Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede are a credit to Hip hop and Muslims around the world. Their smooth flow, respect, and love for the game set them apart from the others in the genre. Their concert starts out with some smooth Jazz inspired rhythms before Sonny and Geechi start trading verses and family friendly jibes. Perhaps the love for community is the thing Camp Lo is best known for and their concert was no exception. Instead of suggestive dancers, large props, and huge lighting displays their performance was simple.

Large numbers of friends and helpers filled the stage while people grooved around the turntables. The two obviously enjoyed themselves dancing close to each other and flawlessly trading verses and harmonies. Instead of a hard angry determination they displayed a love for their music and the people in the audience. Instead of seeming weak this lent an air of legitimacy to their songs. Forming neighborhoods were mentioned fondly and memories were traded in the form of verses. Simple pleasures in life were extrapolated upon and the whole experience was uplifting and energizing. Towards the end a scratch and freestyle session was held where they playfully jibed at each other and rhymes flew from their talented lips. The kinship between these two men was amazing to witness.

Absolutely Amazing!!! I'm a true hip-hop head and Camp Lo is definitely in my fav 5...I was ecstatic to learn that they would be coming to Philly and I immediately bought 4 tickets for me and my team. The entire night was an outstanding tribute to true hip-hop and our heads never stopped nodding. Camp Lo's performance was nothing short of amazing and I can tell you first hand that they truly appreciate their fans -- the event was intimate enough for them to mingle and talk with us. Cannot wait for another opportunity to see them.

Aww man where do I begin. Show was awesome The Lo always delivers original boom bap two turntables and a mic. After the show camp lo stayed around and took pictures and signed memorabilia. Real down to earth humble cats cracking jokes and showing love. This was my second time seeing and meeting them. Dope experience iconic until we meet again Lowa

I actually flew from Charlotte airport to St. Paul Saturday with Suede from Camp Lo. I gotta chance to talk to him and take a couple of pictures with him. The show was amazing. Not just because Camp Lo is one of my all time favorite Hip Hop duos. The performance was energizing. The venue was wonderful. I can't wait to see them again.

Hands down they gave me life! From what they play on the radio to seein real hip hop live reminds you what we need to keep back on the request line!!! Been a fan since day 1 en finally got to see them live!!! Cant wait for the next one!!

Great show, the guys brought it! True hip hop artist, long live hip-hop! I would definitely travel to new York to catch a show. Their dj was okay. They should find a better dj to travel with them.

My first time going to a Camplo concert and they did not show up! I'm very disappointed and would like my money back! Been a fan for years until now!

Composed of Sonny Cheeba (Salahadeen Wilds) and Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace), the group made their debut in 1996 with the single “Coolie High,” which was featured on the soundtrack for the film The Great White Hype. The song reached Number 25 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Singles and was followed by “Luchini AKA This Is It,” a major crossover hit that peaked at Number 5 on the same chart. Uptown Saturday Night (1997), their jazz funk-influenced studio debut, received praises from critics and featured guest appearances by De La Soul’s Trugoy the Dove and Digable Planets’ Butterfly. That same year, the album’s success led the duo to an appearance on Will Smith’s top-selling album Big Willie Style.

Following the critical and commercial failure of Let’s Do It Again (2002), Camp Lo released Black Hollywood (2007), Another Heist (2009) and a collaborative album with star producer Pete Rock entitled 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s (2011). In subsequent years, the duo remained very active in the hip-hop scene, collaborating with Australian electronic music group The Avalanches on their 2016 track “Because I’m Me” and releasing 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s II (2020), the follow-up to their celebrated joint effort with Pete Rock. Sunrise Day Camp

Sunrise Day Camp–Chicago, a program of JCC Chicago, is a proud member of the Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide. Sunrise accomplishes this through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs and in-hospital recreational activities, all offered free of charge.

Eligibility: Children who are on active treatment for cancer or who have been on treatment within the last five years and their sibling(s) are eligible to attend Sunrise Day Camp.

Camp Location: 23280 N. Old McHenry Rd. in Lake Zurich, IL

Transportation: Free transportation is available from select locations around the Chicago area and southern Wisconsin. We will provide staffed, air-conditioned vehicles for campers needing transportation. The core camp day is from 9:30 am to 3:45 pm (excluding transportation times).

Activities: Daily activities include arts and crafts, music, sports, swimming, dance, S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and many more. All activities are modified to meet every child’s needs, energy level and abilities. Goals include helping children develop friendships, confidence, and interpersonal skills, while enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood.

On July 30th, pioneering hip-hop producer/DJ Pete Rock and seminal Bronx duo Camp Lo will release their second collaborative effort,  80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II , the follow-up to their 2011 mixtape of the same name. The tape will feature a handful of guests, including Talib Kweli, Ab-Soul and Uncle Murda.

Now you can take an exclusive first listen to their Mac Miller-featuring cut “Megan Good.” Over a simple bass groove, click-clack drums and scattered vocal cues from Rock (who has some experimental fun during the track’s last two minutes or so), Camp Lo’s Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede spin boast-tacular yarns while Miller lets his salacious, lackadaisical rhymes flow.
