Ghost the Musical  will be presented in a special concert in the West End this autumn – and full casting has now been revealed.

The hit show, based on the film of the same name that starred Patrick Swayze alongside Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, follows murdered boyfriend Sam as he tries to save his still-living girlfriend Molly from grave danger. It has book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin (who wrote the original film), with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.

The concert will mark the musical’s first return to London’s West End after a 12-year hiatus. It is produced by Colin Ingram, the show’s original West End and Broadway producer, and will be directed by original associate director Paul Warwick Griffin, with musical supervision by Laurie Perkins.

As already revealed , the cast will be led by Lucie Jones ( The Baker’s Wife ) and Oliver Tompsett ( & Juliet ), playing the roles of Molly and Sam, respectively. Joining them are original Broadway cast member Moya Angela ( America’s Got Talent, The Lion King and Dreamgirls) as Oda Mae Brown, David Seadon-Young ( Ghost the Musical National/Australian tour) as Carl Bruner, Sam Mackay ( In the Heights, Mamma Mia! ) as Willie Lopez and original West End cast members Lisa Davina Phillip ( The Lion King, Matilda the Musical) and Jenny Fitzpatrick ( Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Rock of Ages UK tour), who will reprise their roles as Clara and Louise.

Completing the cast will be Gabriela García as Mrs Santiago/featured ensemble, Kimmy Edwards as Ortisha/ensemble, C J Borger as Orlando/ensemble, and ensemble members Michael Cortez and Stevie Hutchinson.

It is directed by original associate director Paul Warwick Griffin, with musical supervision by Laurie Perkins, video design by Jon Driscoll, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound by Jav Pando and casting by David Grindrod Casting.

Ghost the Musical first debuted at Manchester Opera House in March 2011 before transferring to London’s Piccadilly Theatre in July of the same year and to Broadway in 2012. It embarked on its first UK tour in 2013. Since then, it has been produced in 20 countries across the world including Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, Japan, Denmark, South Korea, Singapore and Dubai.

An official London cast recording was released in 2012 and has accumulated over 10 million streams and purchases.

Ghost in Concert  will be held at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End on Tuesday, 1 October 2024 at 8pm, with tickets on sale now.

Why You Should Book Your Nashville Ghost Tour Tonight!

You need a crash course in the history of Nashville, Tennessee

If you came to Nashville for the music, there are many more reasons to prolong your stay. Nashville has a blossoming dining scene and a vibrant art scene. Our ghost tour of Nashville covers the music industry in all its painful glory, but we also dive into the history of Nashville before Country Music was even a glint in its creator’s eye.

All our stories are rooted in historical fact, from the tragic end of President James K. Polk to the hauntings of the Downtown Presbyterian Church following the 2010 floods.

Every major era of the history of this great southern town is covered in our tour. Not only will you hear about the characters from these times, but the details will be committed to your memory thanks to the unforgettable ghost stories.

You want something the whole family can do in Nashville

Our tours are scary, and the ghost stories are based on actual accounts that are well researched. But we are not out to make you lose sleep over the ghosts and ghouls of Nashville.

The whole family is welcome to attend the Nashville Ghosts tour and everyone will find something to entertain and educate them regardless of age.

Kids will be entertained by the fascinating story of Captain Ryman, builder of the auditorium where the Grand Old Opry performs today. And who knows if Taylor Swift has met his ghost backstage while she was performing here?

Your tour guides are passionate about telling you entertaining and accurate stories on the Nashville Ghosts tour. But again, everyone will still get a good night’s sleep after doing one of the most entertaining things there is to do in Nashville.

You don’t Believe in ghosts, but are giving the supernatural a chance

Not everyone believes in ghosts, that’s OK, but we think everyone should at least be open to the possibility. The Nashville Ghosts tour will not try to get you into a séance, or communing with the dead, but we will tell you stories straight out of the history books and share confirmed accounts of ghosts sightings and unexplained phenomena.

Actually standing in the spooky and atmospheric streets of Nashville will bring the stories alive, and although we’ve had many tour participants experience actual ghosts on our tours, everyone has different degrees of perception to the spirits of people from the past.

Children and animals are, in our experience, the most perceptive and open-minded to seeing and believing ghosts. But if you are a fan of Hank Williams Sr. and we tell you the story of his haunting of Tootsies Orchid Lounge it does stand to reason you might be more open-minded than most others. We hope any fans who do consider the tour might be lucky enough to see him walk past them into the bar.

In Nashville and Not Sure of What to Do?

Nashville has a lot to offer the visitor. It’s easy to fill your day with the big sights of the city and then dance the night away along Printers Alley. But that time slot after dinner and before the bars truly get going is the perfect time to soak up some history and the legendary ghost stories from the Athens of The South.

Nashville Ghosts can help you get the most out of your time here. We have the full story of the most fascinating places in town. You’ll be able to share stories of what happens in the basements of some of the bars along Printers Alley!

In one French restaurant on Printers Alley the basement has a small grate in a rear wall that leads into the networks of tunnels. Rumor has it that if you put your ear to the grate, you can sometimes hear the moans of those who lost their lives in these tunnels.

One such story concerns a pregnant slave starting the long and treacherous journey north on the Underground Railroad, aiming to get to relatives in a free city before she gave birth. Eyewitness accounts described the journey as stressful and this brought on early labor for this poor woman, who struggled and screamed in the tunnels right under Printers Alley. Unfortunately, there were complications, and mother and child were both lost that night. The tunnels were the last place to hear their desperate pleas for freedom. Their screams have long been heard in the tunnels that you can peek into from the basement of this French restaurant.

You’ve got a limited amount of time in Nashville

Nashville is a well-connected destination, and you might only have a night or two in town. Our tour will show you the sights and give you a deep dive into a carefully curated set of historical facts and entertaining ghost stories.

On the standard tour, we’ll cover the highlights of the Country Music the town is famous for as well as the buzzing nightspots on Printers Alley. On the extended tour, we’ll visit 4 extra destinations, including the state capitol and the grave of President James K. Polk, a minor league but some say, underrated president, who to this day is still on the move!

Broadway Ghost – The 5 Most Terrifyingly Haunted Theaters

blog

Broadway is a staple of midtown New York and has been for over a century. Plenty of people involved with the Theatre District have passed on but not all of them have left…

Every night people come out to see Broadway shows by the thousands. Eventually, curtains come down, the actors take their final bows and the shows come to an end. Everyone goes back out into the night and the theaters go dark. The only light that remains is a singular bulb artists call a Ghost Light. Theaters all over the world use this light both as a safety measure and a means to appease any spirits that may inhabit their space. Broadway is no different and if you attend a show, you may be sitting with a Broadway Ghost.

So here are five, still active theaters on the Great White Way that many believe are home to some Paranormal Patrons.

1564 7th Ave & W 47th Street, New York, NY 10036

Built in 1903 the Palace is one of the oldest still running theaters on Broadway. It has it’s fair share of plays, musicals and tragedy.

Legend has it that in the 1950’s, acrobat Louis Borsalino would attempt a tight rope walk without a net and fall to his death. While some dispute this claim, saying that the high-flyer was only badly injured during the fall, stagehands and actors alike believe his ghost still has a taste for the stage. Therefore, Borsalino can be seen swinging from the rafters when the theater is empty. Like any good Broadway Ghost, he will let out a shriek of terror before reenacting his ill fated final act. Over and over and over again.

The New Amsterdam

214 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036

Right in the heart of Times Square, the New Amsterdam is over a century old! Disney revived it in the mid nineties and it is now home to some of the most extravagant productions around and a Broadway Ghost.

First of all, Olive Thomas was a Broadway chorus girl in the early 1900’s, known for her beauty. As a result, she caught the eye of many, like her husband, Jack Pickford. The two did not have the greatest relationship and in 1920 they decided a trip to Paris would be the perfect cure. However, a heated exchange between the two lead to Olive’s tragic overdose on mercury bi-chloride, a topical ointment.

Very soon after her death, reports began that Olive was walking the halls of the New Amsterdam Theater. Clad in a green, beaded dress and carrying a bottle much like the one she fatefully drank from in Paris. Sightings of Olive remain steady (even as recently as 2005) since the need to perform cannot escape her. Even in death.

149 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036

Few American Theaters are as old as the Lyceum. Granted landmark status in 1974, it is the oldest, continuously running Theater on Broadway. Hence it should come as no surprise that it also has a permanent phantom in the form of legendary Choreographer Bob Fosse.

Fosse, known for his distinct and innovative style of dance, worked with many actors and dancers over his career. One such actress was Chita Rivera. River starred in 2016’s The Visit, in the Lyceum. During the show, crew members claimed to hear strange sounds in addition to cigarette smoke coming from the balcony. Many of them assume that it was the ghost of Fosse himself. Due to Fosse’s work relationship with Rivera and his apparent love of the Balcony seats, it makes sense that he would choose that show to haunt. Whether or not he stays around is the question. Needless to say, as a Broadway Ghost, he’s got plenty of time to decide.

The Imperial

249 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036

Sometimes you don’t need a storied history to be a ghost. You just have to scare a group of kids.

The Imperial Theatre opened in 1923 and various musicals and plays have graced its stage of the last century. The most noteworthy of those shows was Billy Elliot. A musical based on the hit film, its big draw was music by Elton John and a talented group of Tony award winning youngsters. Young girls in the show claimed that their dressing room was haunted by a strange and powerful entity who would open and close doors at will and the name of that Broadway Ghost: Fred.

Therefore, while some believe that famed actress Ethel Merman probably haunts the old theater, the cast of Billy Elliot will tell you a much different story.

The Belasco

111 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036

Finally, the most noteworthy theatre on this list. David Belasco commissioned it to be built in 1907. While it is only the sixth oldest theater on Broadway, it most likely takes the lead as far as sightings are concerned.

David Belasco died in 1931 and consequently became one of the Broadway Ghosts. He is said to watch rehearsals and walk the halls whenever he pleases. Some crew in the theatre will say, “Goodnight, Mr. Belasco.” at the end of the night, just to appease him. Even I have had a spooky experience with this legendary Broadway Ghost.

As a bar manager at the time, I had to stay late to count the night’s profits. Suddenly, in my non ventilated office, the air grew cold. Just as quickly as the cold began, it was gone, returning the room to its normal temperature. Even I have my skepticism towards ghosts and this incident shook me to my core. Many believe that Cold Spots will often accompany ghosts and knowledge of this phenomenon gave me cause to leave the theatre early that night.

Those are the Broadway Ghosts that this intrepid blogger knows about and their are many others. Do you have a ghastly experience in a Broadway Theater? Let us know in the comments! If you wanna see some of these theaters first hand, check out Inside Broadway Tours!

Broadway Ghosts – The 5 Most Terrifyingly Haunted Theatres

broadway ghost

Broadway is a staple of midtown New York and has been for over a century. Plenty of people involved with the Theatre District have passed on but not all of them have left…

Every night people come out to see Broadway shows by the thousands. Eventually, curtains come down, the actors take their final bows and the shows come to an end. Everyone goes back out into the night and the theatres go dark. The only light that remains is a singular bulb artists call a Ghost Light . Theatres all over the world use this light both as a safety measure and a means to appease any spirits that may inhabit their space. Broadway is no different and if you attend a show, you may be sitting with a Broadway Ghost.

So here are five, active theatres on the Great White Way that many believe are home to some Paranormal Patrons.

The Palace

1564 7th ave & w 47th street, new york, ny 10036.

Built in 1903 the Palace is one of the oldest running theatres on Broadway. It hosts its fair share of plays, musicals and tragedy.

Therefore, Borsalino can be seen swinging from the rafters when the theatre is empty. Like any good Broadway Ghost, he will let out a shriek of terror before reenacting his ill fated final act. Over and over and over again.

The New Amsterdam

214 w 42nd st, new york, ny 10036.

Right in the heart of Times Square, the New Amsterdam is over a century old! Disney revived it in the mid nineties and it is now home to some of the most extravagant productions around, and a Broadway Ghost.

broadway ghost

First off, Olive Thomas was a Broadway chorus girl in the early 1900’s, known for her beauty. As a result, she caught the eye of many, including her husband, Jack Pickford.

Sightings of Olive remain steady (even as recently as 2005 ) since the need to perform cannot escape her. Even in death.

The Lyceum

149 w 45th st, new york, ny 10036.

Few American Theatres are as old as the Lyceum.

River starred in 2016’s The Visit, performed in the Lyceum.

249 w 45th st, new york, ny 10036.

Sometimes you don’t need a storied history to be a ghost. You just have to scare a group of kids.

The Imperial Theatre opened in 1923 and various musicals and plays have graced its stage in the last century. The most noteworthy of these shows was Billy Elliot. A musical based on the hit film, its big draw was music by Elton John and a talented group of Tony award winning youngsters.  Young girls  in the show claimed that their dressing room was haunted by a strange and powerful entity who would open and close doors at will and the name of that Broadway Ghost: Fred.

Therefore, while some believe that famed actress Ethel Merman probably haunts the old theatre, the cast of Billy Elliot will tell you a much different story.

The Belasco

111 w 44th st, new york, ny 10036.

Some crew members in the theatre will say, “Goodnight, Mr. Belasco” at the end of each night, just to appease him.

Those are the Broadway Ghosts that this intrepid blogger knows about and there are many others. Do you have a ghastly experience in a Broadway Theatre? Let us know in the comments! If you wanna see some of these theatres first hand, check out Inside Broadway Tours !

Full Cast Announced for Ghost The Musical in Concert at the Adelphi Theatre

Olivier Award-winning producer, Colin Ingram, the original West End and Broadway producer of the smash-hit musical GHOST,  announces the full cast for the one-off special concert at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End at 8pm on Tuesday 1 October 2024.

Joining the previously announced Lucie Jones as Molly and Oliver Tompsett as Sam, will be original Broadway cast member Moya Angela ( America’s Got Talent, The Lion King and Dreamgirls) as Oda Mae Brown, David Seadon-Young ( Ghost the Musical National/Australian Tour) as Carl Bruner, Sam Mackay ( In the Heights, Mamma Mia! ) as Willie Lopez and original West End cast members Lisa Davina Phillip ( The Lion King, Matilda the Musical) and Jenny Fitzpatrick ( Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Rock of Ages UK Tour), who will reprise their roles as Clara and Louise. Completing the cast will be Gabriela García as Mrs Santiago/Featured Ensemble, Kimmy Edwards as Ortisha/Ensemble, C.J. Borger as Orlando/Ensemble, and Ensemble members Michael Cortez and Stevie Hutchinson.

GHOST IN CONCERT will be directed by original associate director Paul Warwick Griffin, with musical supervision by Laurie Perkins, video design by Jon Driscoll, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound by Jav Pando, choreography by Ashley Wallen, costume supervision by Sharon Williams and casting by David Grindrod Casting.

Producer Colin Ingram said, “I am delighted to be bringing GHOST THE MUSICAL back in a new format for this one-off performance, so audiences can enjoy some of the incredible music that Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard wrote over ten years ago and which has now been produced in over 20 countries, from Brazil to Hungary. I’m so happy to have Oliver Tompsett play Sam Wheat, after he helped develop the role in workshops, and for Lucie Jones to return as Molly, after playing the role in China and South East Asia. I’m thrilled that some of our original cast members, including Moya Angela from our run on Broadway and Lisa Davina Philip and Jenny Fitzpatrick from London, will be joining us, alongside the brilliant David Seadon-Young, who played Carl on the National Tour, Sam Mackay as Willie Lopez and a hugely talented ensemble from across the West End.”

Tony and Olivier Award-nominated GHOST THE MUSICAL first premiered at Manchester’s Opera House in March 2011, before transferring to London’s Piccadilly Theatre for its West End debut in July of the same year. The musical later transferred to Broadway in 2012, receiving three Tony Award nominations, and later embarked on a UK Tour in 2013. An official Original London Cast Recording was released in 2012, which has had over 10 million streams and purchases.
