Avenged Sevenfold Announce Winter 2018 North American Tour Dates With Breaking Benjamin + Bullet for My Valentine

Get ready for the first major must-see tour of 2018! After spending much of 2017 supporting Metallica , Avenged Sevenfold are ready to headline shows in early 2018 promoting the release of The Stage album. And it's going to be quite the lineup the band is taking on the road.

The first round of dates for "The Stage World Tour" start in North America with Breaking Benjamin and Bullet for My Valentine providing support. The trek gets underway Jan. 12 in Nashville, Tenn., with shows currently booked through Feb. 11 in Fargo, N.D. See all of the stops listed below.

Avenged Sevenfold's Deathbat Nation will get first crack at the tickets with pre-sales starting Oct. 3 (in most markets) and a Ticketmaster / local pre-sale continuing on Oct. 5. The general public on-sale date is this Friday (Oct. 6), and each on-sale opportunity begins at 10AM local time in each market unless otherwise noted. This is not the full run, as the band has stated that Canadian dates will be announced next week and more North American dates are coming soon.

  Grammy nominees AVENGED SEVENFOLD have announced the “End of the World Tour,” a North American headlining run produced by Live Nation that kicks off July 22 at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA, and features Prophets of Rage plus Three Days Grace. This tour will be the band’s first with Prophets of Rage, who are touring in support of their internationally acclaimed, self-titled debut LP. Prophets of Rage features Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill.

The quintet (vocalist M. Shadows, guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman) kicked off 2018 with their first-ever Grammy nomination, as the title track for ‘The Stage’ earned the nod for “Best Rock Song.

Updated on March 5, 2018 : Avenged Sevenfold have added 2018 tour dates for North America with Prophets of Rage. Other opening bands will include Three Days Grace and Ho99o9 on select dates.

The new shows are scheduled to begin on July 22 in Massachussetts and extend into early September.

The general public on-sale begins as early as March 9, 2018 at 10 AM local time. Avenged Sevenfold, Prophets of Rage, and the other bands also have performances scheduled at several festivals and separate concerts throughout the year, with tickets already on sale. Avenged Sevenfold (vocalist M. Avenged Sevenfold kick off their North American tour with a setlist full of surprises

From live debuts to the first performance of City Of Evil’s Blinded In Chains since 2006, Avenged Sevenfold completely mixed up the setlist for the spring leg of their Life Is But A Dream… tour.

Last night (March 6), Avenged Sevenfold kicked off the third leg of their Life Is But A Dream… tour in North America.

The Huntington Beach heroes are back out on the road again in support of last year’s incredible album of the same name , hitting the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York with support from Poppy and Sullivan King .

And they changed things up from the previous tours on this album cycle, with a couple of live debuts and throwbacks to some old favourites, included Blinded In Chains for the first time since 2006 and Save Me for the first time since 2011 (both were also played for the first time with drummer Brooks Wackerman).

Elsewhere, in terms of more recent bangers A7X dusted off Shepherd Of Fire for the first time since 2018, and they gave Roman Sky its first airing in public – having previously only played it live at the The GRAMMY Museum in 2017. They also ended with Cosmic, with lots of fans having been desperate to hear that LIBAD… track in particular.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD announce first North American tour in 5 years

Avenged Sevenfold haven't played a single show since 2018, but in 2023 they're making up for lost time. Following the recent announcement of their long-awaited new album, Life Is but a Dream , the band have announced their first proper tour in five years, which will travel throughout 13 cities in North America later this summer, with Canuck post-hardcore vets Alexionfire serving as support.

Interestingly, the vast majority of the upcoming dates will go down in Canada, as well as five shows in the Northern region of the U.S. — New Jersey, Massachusets, Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota. According to a press release, this is only "leg one" of Avenged Sevenfold's upcoming tour, so fans should expected additional dates to be announced down the line. Earlier this month, A7X also announced two release shows for Life Is but a Dream , one in L.A. on June 9th and another in NYC on June 23rd.

The tour will be North America’s introduction to the electrifying Stage spectacle that drew rave reviews in Europe and the UK. After the recent 02 Arena shows, the London Evening Standard lauded Avenged Sevenfold as “a global phenomenon” and wrote that the band “specialized in preposterous fun,” calling the show “royally entertaining.” The Guardian ran a 4-star review of the show in Glasgow, writing, “Underneath retina-scorching screens and giant cosmic cube broadcasting spiraling starfields, the five-piece methodically discharge booming, arena-filling songs…these industrial assemblages of growing riffs and fret-melting solos have a default minor-key menace, yet the overall atmosphere is surprisingly joyous.” But Kerrang!   best summed up Avenged Sevenfold’s new live show: “you’ve never seen anything like it.”

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has also announced a December 15 th release date for the deluxe version of their critically acclaimed album, THE STAGE (Capitol). This new edition features 7 additional studio songs + 4 unreleased live tracks recorded during the band’s recent shows at The O2 arena in London. Among the 7 bonus tracks is the band’s stunning cover of the Pink Floyd classic, “Wish You Were Here,” which was released today and can be heard HERE . About Avenged Sevenfold’s version of “Wish You Were Here,” lead singer M. Shadows says, “This is the song that started us down the rabbit hole with our recent cover recordings.  I’ve always loved this song and though I felt it would be impossible to capture the somberness of the original, we approached it with another purpose. There’s a poignancy to the song that seems appropriate with everything going on in the world today. We put a bit of a modern twist on it to reintroduce it at a time when it might help capture what some of us are feeling.”

The deluxe edition is the latest chapter in an innovative album cycle that began 12 months ago when Avenged Sevenfold “surprise-released” THE STAGE , becoming the first-ever rock band to drop an unannounced album in digital and physical form. The band (vocalist M. Shadows, guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman) announced the album’s release to millions of surprised fans who had been watching their live-streamed set from the rooftop of the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, CA. That groundbreaking event saw the quintet give a 3D/360-degree virtual reality performance that enabled fans around the globe to experience Avenged Sevenfold’s electrifying show as if they were there for the first-of-its-kind immersive event.

Months later, the forward-thinking band announced plans to transform THE STAGE into an evolving body of work by adding a series of new tracks over the course of several months.

Those songs—which began with a scintillating rendition of Mexican folk song “ Malagueña Salerosa ” —have been previously unavailable for purchase, but fan demand for the tracks brings the album to its current stage as a deluxe release.

In addition to the album’s original 11 tracks, the deluxe version features A7X’s reimagining of Mr. Bungle’s “ Retrovertigo ,” original track “ Dose ,” a cover of Del Shannon’s 1961 No. 1 hit, “ Runaway ” (featuring a guest appearance by Vandals’ guitarist Warren Fitzgerald and lead vocals by Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Zacky Vengeance), the band’s version of The Beach Boys’ 1966 hit, “ God Only Knows ” and most recently, their rendition of the Rolling Stones’ “ As Tears Go By .” The four concert recordings included on the album are title track “The Stage,” “Paradigm,” “Sunny Disposition” and “God Damn.”

Rolling Stone called THE STAGE “epic and adventurous” and “the most aggressively bonkers music of the quintet’s career” and NME , Q , The Guardian , Guitar World , Metal Hammer , Revolver , Metal Injection , Alternative Press , Drum , Total Guitar and Classic Rock are among the myriad press outlets that lauded the album, with the latter calling it “a metal masterpiece.”
