Who is Tim Medhurst?
Tim Medhurst is an antiques dealer and television presenter from Dorset, England. He has been a much-loved member of the Antiques Road Trip team for a number of years and has also appeared on the celebrity version of the show.
His area of expertise is coins and antiquities and he buys and sells them through his own business, Timothy Medhurst Coins and Antiquities.

His passion for antiques started at a young age after his grandmother showed him a Victorian Crown coin she kept in a little music box. Tim was just nine years old at the time but says he was hooked immediately and knew he wanted to pursue a career where he could be surrounded by antiquities.

Before joining Antiques Road Trip , he worked for two leading auction houses for almost ten years and built up a reputation as an expert in the field before he was tapped by BBC to join the much-loved daytime show.
What has Tim Medhurst said about Antiques Road Trip?
Tim became a part of the BBC One daytime show in 2018, joining the likes of David Harper, Phil Serrell and Christina Trevanion on the team of antique experts.
Speaking about the role, he told The Sun : "It's quite amazing really, I feel very honoured to be able to whizz around the country buying antiques as it's my favourite thing to do," adding: "It is quite nice to be on the show and put over a young person's perspective on antiques."

However, he admitted that there can be frustrating moments viewers don't always see onscreen. "You sometimes find things that are out of your budget, that's the worst thing," he said. "If you've got a small amount of money left and you find something quite amazing but you don't have enough left to buy it, that's the most gutting thing."

Is Tim Mendhurst married?
Tim prefers to keep his private life out of the spotlight so not much is known about his dating history. It's unclear if he is currently in a relationship, but for those hoping to get a glimpse into his personal life, you can follow him on Instagram at @timothymedhurst.
Although he does mostly post about his work as a coin dealer and consultant, it will be the first place to find out any information about his life away from the cameras.

Tim Medhurst is an antique dealer, coin specialist, auctioneer, valuer, antiques expert and television presenter. He is a regular on BBC’s Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. Along with TV and Radio work, Tim occasionally contributes to magazines and articles.
Tim formed a passion for coins, antiquities and antiques from a young age. At the age of 9, Tim’s grandmother showed him a Victorian Crown coin she kept in a little music box, from then on he was hooked! He has developed a fascination and interest which has sculpted a career path.
Tim is the owner of Timothy Medhurst Coins and Antiquities Ltd, specialising In Coins and Antiquities, Consultancy and Freelance Auctioneering In Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire and Countrywide. With over ten years of experience as an auctioneer, he offers auctioneering and consultation services for Charity Events, Fine Art and Antique, and General Auctions. He has overseen and conducted Specialist Auctions from Fine Art and Antique, Country House and General Auctions, along with many other Charity Events.
Tim has previously worked for two leading auction houses for almost ten years. He was an auctioneer and valuer at Duke’s Auctioneers of Dorset and head of the Coins and Medals department at Duke’s. Amongst his varied duties as a general valuer for Duke’s, he oversaw the European and English Ceramics department.
Prior to joining Duke’s, Tim was a coin specialist, auctioneer and valuer at Reeman Dansie in Colchester for over six years.
In 2013 Tim won the Young Guns Award as the leading Young Gun of the antiques trade during the 2013 National Antiques Week at the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in Battersea. Tim was the youngest on the shortlist of 12 finalists and impressed the judges with his determination to bring a new vigour to a field that is often seen as old and stuffy.
More recently he has been involved in vetting major Antique Fairs as well as being a panellist at the prestigious Art Business Conference 2017.
Tim is a member of the British Numismatic Trade Association (BNTA), holding the reputation of the highest importance.

What really excites and grips Tim is the fascinating history and stories connected to the coins, antiquities and antiques he is fortunate enough to handle every day.
“Coins are one of the closest objects linked to social history, something in all people’s pockets, in all periods of time. Imagine the stories they hold and the hands they have passed through centuries ago,” he said. “It stirs imagination, romance and the connection with the past that is all brought to life through these wonderful pieces of history in the palm of your hand.”

Tim Medhurst has formed a passion for coins, antiquities and antiques from a young age. At nine years old his grandmother showed him a Victorian Crown coin she kept in a little music box, from then on he was hooked! He has developed a fascination and interest which has sculpted a career path to where he is now, absorbed in doing what he loves every day.
He has previously worked for two leading auction houses for almost ten years. In that time he developed two successful coin departments from scratch. His opinion and experience within the Antique Industry is well received and valued. In 2013 he had the honour of being awarded "Antiques Young Gun" of the year. More recently he has been involved in vetting major Antique Fairs as well as being a panellist at the prestigious Art Business Conference 2017.
As well as a regular and recognisable face on the well known BBC's Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. Along with TV and Radio work, Tim occasionally contributes to magazines and articles.
Tim is a proud member of the BNTA (British Numismatic Trade Association), holding reputation of the highest importance.
