Meaning of after tour lyrics by Rojuu

The song "after tour" by Rojuu appears to touch on themes of confinement, relationships, and personal desires. The lyrics contain references to being imprisoned within a relationship, feeling confused and wanting to explore new experiences. The narrator seems to have accepted their "sentence" in this metaphorical jail, yet still yearns for freedom. They contemplate the possibility of extending their confinement because they anticipate falling back into the same patterns even if they were to escape.

The chorus emphasizes the idea that the person they are involved with is the ultimate jail, and there is no greater confinement than being with them. The repeated line "te encanta, no soltarme a ti te encanta" suggests that the other person enjoys having control over the narrator, further reinforcing the metaphorical imprisonment.

In the second part of the song, the lyrics take a different direction. There is an intro referencing the legality of nuclear weapons, which may indicate a shift in subject matter. The bridge talks about someone who has taken their own life and is no longer present. This could symbolize the permanent escape from confinement and the inability to witness the beauty of the sunset.

The following verses express the narrator's desire for personal freedom while acknowledging their love for their mother, dog, and partner. However, they also recognize the transient nature of all these relationships, implying that they will eventually disappear. The mention of Akira as a recurring name implies the passing on or sharing of unwanted encounters.

The outro contains a dialogue between Sid, Cassie, and another unidentified person, where arguments and frustrations are exchanged. The mention of Michelle is sparked, with the narrator rejecting the idea of being with her and expressing their love for the person they are speaking to. There are also fleeting references to the illegality of the song.

Overall, "after tour" explores the conflicting desires for freedom, love, and the sense of being confined within relationships. It delves into the potential consequences and complexities of making choices and the emotional turmoil that comes with it.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

{{tournament.sponsortitle}}, player results, sinner assured of rise to world no. 1.

Jannik Sinner is set to climb to No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings on 10 June. The 22-year-old will become the first Italian and just the 29th player overall to top men’s tennis.

Sinner began the year at World No. 4. But with a massive surge to begin 2024, highlighted by his first major title at the Australian Open , an ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami and semi-finals at Indian Wells and Monte-Carlo, he will now ascend to the very top of the sport.

"What can I say? First of all it is every player's dream to become No. 1 in the world," Sinner said after his Roland Garros quarter-final win against Grigor Dimitrov , before addressing the withdrawal of Novak Djokovic , which guaranteed his ascent. "In the other way, seeing Novak retiring here I think is disappointing. I wish him a speedy recovery."

🥇 THIS IS JANNIK'S MOMENT 🥇 Sinner becomes the first-ever Italian man to achieve ATP No.1 Presented by PIF 🇮🇹 👏 #S1NNER | #PIF | #ATPRankings | #partner pic.twitter.com/pvAfiACbPO — ATP Tour (@atptour) June 4, 2024

The Italian had already made history for his country earlier this year by becoming the highest-ranked Italian man in the PIF ATP Rankings (surpassing Adriano Panatta ’s career-high ranking of No. 4).

Over the past 52 weeks, during which Sinner has earned the points that helped him to World No. 1, he has tallied a 14-3 record against Top 10 opponents. Nine of his victories during that stretch have come against current or former World No. 1s: Djokovic (3), Alcaraz (1) and Medvedev (5).

Entering last August’s National Bank Open presented by Rogers, Sinner had never lifted an ATP Masters 1000 or major trophy. Since then he has claimed six titles, including Masters 1000 triumphs in Toronto and Miami, as well as his maiden Grand Slam victory at Melbourne Park. His other crowns came at ATP 500 events: Beijing, Vienna and Rotterdam.

One of Sinner’s biggest highlights came at last year’s Nitto ATP Finals , where he competed for the second time. The Italian won his group with an undefeated record before defeating Medvedev to reach the championship match.

On 1 April, Sinner ascended to World No. 2 and now, he will take the final step to the very top of the sport, displacing Djokovic, who has held World No. 1 for more weeks than any player in history (429 by the end of Roland Garros ).

Sinner is just the second player born in the 2000s to reach the pinnacle, joining Carlos Alcaraz . Only six active players have ascended to World No. 1: Djokovic, Rafael Nadal , Andy Murray , Daniil Medvedev , Alcaraz and now Sinner.

The Italian is the second seed at Roland Garros and is pursuing his first title at the clay-court major. He will play Carlos Alcaraz or Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-finals.

A hint of home helps Robert MacIntyre secure first PGA TOUR title at RBC Canadian Open

Change Text Size

ANCASTER, Ontario – It wasn’t quite a last resort, but the call had a tone of desperation.

After parting ways with a former caddie at the Charles Schwab Challenge, Robert MacIntyre needed a fill-in for the RBC Canadian Open. A handful of queries went unfulfilled, so MacIntyre dialed up his emergency option – his dad Dougie.

The Scotsman didn’t want to inconvenience his father, who still resides in MacIntyre’s hometown of Oban, Scotland, and works full-time as head greenkeeper at Glencruitten Golf Club – but Dougie MacIntyre knows his son’s game inside and out. He coached him until he was 14 or 15 years old and was an accomplished shinty player, only without the funds to pursue his full potential at the sport’s highest level (MacIntyre describes shinty as “a cross between field hockey and organized violence”).

Dougie MacIntyre hadn’t caddied since DP World Tour Q-School in fall 2017, but this week marked a critical juncture in his son’s first season as a PGA TOUR member – the highly touted MacIntyre, 27, arrived in Canada at No. 75 on the FedExCup standings, right on the bubble to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs (top 70 after the Wyndham Championship in August). The call was made, and the answer was a quick yes – after confirming he could take the week off from work.

Robert MacIntyre’s emotional interview after winning the RBC Canadian

That call led to more than they could have imagined. MacIntyre earned his first PGA TOUR title at the RBC Canadian Open, carding a final-round 68 at Hamilton Golf & Country Club for a 16-under 264 total, one stroke clear of Ben Griffin. Not only does he get the proverbial monkey off his back, after a gripping one-stroke defeat to Rory McIlroy at last summer’s Genesis Scottish Open, but MacIntyre cements exempt PGA TOUR status through 2026 and qualifies for this season’s remaining Signature Events. (He’s also safely inside the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking, meaning he can cancel his Monday tee time at 36-hole U.S. Open Final Qualifying, in which his dad was also planning to carry the bag.)

Dougie MacIntyre is the first father to caddie his son to a PGA TOUR title since Jack Slocum (for son Heath) at the 2005 Southern Farm Bureau Classic. This isn’t a permanent arrangement by any means; MacIntyre said he has a full-time caddie scheduled to start at next week’s Memorial Tournament presented by Workday – which is a new addition to his schedule after his victory in Canada. (He might have liked to return home to Oban for some celebrations, he quipped afterward, but he figures a trip to Muirfield Village isn’t a bad idea.)

Robert MacIntyre pars the last to secure first win at RBC Canadian

MacIntyre is a chip off the old block, known on TOUR for his kindness and humility – which he certainly inherited from his father. MacIntyre’s parents (Dougie and mom Carol) are longtime foster parents; MacIntyre grew up with several foster brothers and sisters. The family wasn’t particularly well off; MacIntyre didn’t have the pick of the litter when it came to junior golf tournaments, but he was always loved, supported and encouraged. He grew to understand the rough upbringings of his foster brothers and sisters – some had been abused or neglected – and he learned not to take anything for granted. After his son’s victory Sunday in southern Ontario, Dougie MacIntyre gave away golf balls and towels to young fans, conversing and sharing in their revelry. He was in full dad effect.

“I think it makes you realize that hitting a white ball around a golf course isn't the most important thing,” MacIntyre described the impact of his parents’ fostering. “I mean, I've been in tears over it, kids going away from you. They become family. They have been in a tough spot. I wasn't given everything as a kid. I was given a great opportunity. My dad was obviously a really good sportsman, football, golf, shinty, didn't have the finances to really chase it, and I think it was something that my mom and dad always wanted to do. I've got two older sisters who are right into their horses, horse riding and stuff, but they even sacrificed quite a lot of that just to give me a chance.

“I couldn't play in golf tournaments as a junior because we couldn't afford it. I think that made me, that makes me fight and never give up, I think not being given anything. I mean, they gave me quite a bit. They gave me the opportunity, but never – never was I spoon-fed. I was always fighting for every bit of it.”

Dougie MacIntyre’s soft side complements a competitive edge that was also on display at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, coming to the forefront at critical moments on the weekend. The younger MacIntyre was on the verge of falling into a mental rut as he strode down the 10th fairway Saturday, having turned in 1-over 36 and sensing his grip on the tournament slipping away (he entered the third round in a share of the lead; he was four back at the turn Saturday). His dad sensed the spiral and wanted to nip it in the bud – MacIntyre has emphasized an improved mental game in recent weeks, taking negative thoughts and flipping them into a positive tone.

“He was having a wee go at me when I was walking from the 10th tee down to the fairway,” MacIntyre said. “Look, he was a sporting guy, he knows how to win, knows how to lose, he's been through it all. He could see my head going a little bit and he's like, ‘What have you been working on for the last eight weeks, 10 weeks?’ … I kind of flipped into that mode and tried to find the positive in everything.”

Robert MacIntyre's news conference after winning RBC Canadian

MacIntyre listened on the very next hole. After his tee shot caught a divot in the 11th fairway, he could have been “mumping and moaning about it,” but he told himself the lie lent itself to a cutty 6-iron. He played a 183-yard approach to the center of the green and two-putted from 20 feet. Then he played his next seven holes in 4-under, signing for a 4-under 66 and suddenly assuming a four-stroke lead into Sunday, where he withstood Griffin’s late charge (birdies on Nos. 15, 16 and 17) for a one-stroke win that he and his dad will remember forever.

The energy of their shared hug on the 18th green Sunday, amidst the cacophony of adoring Canadian fans, was surely felt back home in Oban. It’s where MacIntyre learned the game and what it meant to be a man. Both things coalesced this weekend, under the watchful eye of the man who has been there all the way.

“Unbelievable,” said Dougie MacIntyre on the 18th green in the aftermath, basking in the moment with tears in his eyes. He could barely speak, but the emotion said it all.

“Unbelievable.”

Roku: How to connect your TV or streamer to Wi-Fi without a remote

R oku is a popular and versatile streaming device for watching your favorite TV shows, movies, and series. With one of the best Roku streaming devices , you can enjoy your favorite content whenever you want. But what happens when you lose the remote that came with your Roku? This guide explains how to connect your Roku streaming device to your Wi-Fi network without a remote using the Roku app, which you can download on any smartphone or tablet.

What happens if you lose the Roku remote after a factory reset?

If you recently performed a factory reset on your Roku , you need a new remote to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. You can also use the dedicated app to reconnect your Roku to your existing network. The app's remote control feature allows you to manage your Roku wirelessly without the physical remote that comes with it. This feature is only available if your Roku was previously connected to your current Wi-Fi network. The following sections explain two ways to reconnect your Roku to your home Wi-Fi network.

The most common Roku problems and how to fix them

Use an ethernet connection to change your roku wi-fi settings.

If your Roku stops connecting to your Wi-Fi network and you can't find the remote, an Ethernet cable can help. Not all Roku devices have an Ethernet port. If yours does, go this route to keep things simple. After the cable is connected to your access point, you may need to unplug and replug your Roku before it recognizes the network. Then, you can use the Roku app's remote control feature to manage it without a remote or update the Wi-Fi settings. After that, you can go back to using it over Wi-Fi.

Use a temporary Wi-Fi mobile hotspot as a workaround

If your Roku doesn't have an Ethernet port and the remote is missing, you can potentially get it back up and running on your Wi-Fi network. This process is a little out of the way and requires multiple devices and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. It is your only option other than buying a new remote. The idea is to trick your Roku into connecting to your mobile hotspot using the same Wi-Fi credentials it had when it was working. You can then use the remote feature in the Roku app to wirelessly control your device.

You can also use a mobile hotspot to connect your Roku to another Wi-Fi network outside your home. This can be useful if you lose the remote while traveling. It allows you to use the device from the Roku app. It can also be beneficial if you recently found an old Roku device and know the Wi-Fi name and password. Rather than doing a factory reset, you can bring it online as long as your mobile hotspot matches the original Wi-Fi credentials.

You must meet the following requirements for the mobile hotspot method:

  • A Roku device that was previously set up on your Wi-Fi network.
  • A Roku device with support for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
  • A wireless smartphone plan that supports mobile Wi-Fi hotspots.
  • Two separate mobile devices (Android or iOS).
  • The Roku app must be installed on the non-hotspot mobile device.

Set up your mobile hotspot and install the Roku app

After meeting the requirements, connect your Roku to your home Wi-Fi network without a remote. You must have one device using a mobile hotspot and the other with the Roku app installed separately.

To connect your Roku to Wi-Fi without a remote, do the following:

  • Turn on the mobile hotspot feature on your first device. For Android devices, go to Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering . On an iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Personal Hotspot on the newer version of iOS.
  • Set your mobile hotspot's network name and password to match the Wi-Fi network that was last used on your Roku.
  • Download the Roku app on the second non-hotspot device. You can download the app on an Android device from the Google Play Store or an iOS device from the App Store .
  • Open the Roku app on your second device.
  • Tap the Continue button to get started.
  • Tap Next or Skip to move to the next screen. Close
  • Choose Nex t or Skip to get the account sign-in option.
  • Tap the Sign in button to log in with your Roku account or Continue as guest . Close
  • Reset your Roku by unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in.
  • Your Roku automatically reconnects to your mobile hotspot.
  • Use the Remote tab in the Roku app to update your network settings from the mobile hotspot to your home Wi-Fi network. Close

You can still use your Roku even if you lose the remote

Using the dedicated remote with your Roku is the easiest way to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network , but it isn't the only option. If you misplace the remote, a temporary mobile Wi-Fi network is the next best bet aside from a direct hardwired connection. When your mobile hotspot is active, you can remotely control your Roku from the app on another device and update your Wi-Fi settings. If you meet all the requirements, you can bring your Roku back to life in a pinch without a remote.

Jon Bon Jovi says 'Forever' pays homage to The Beatles, his wife and the working class

after tour rojuu

As the lights faded in a ballroom of the Los Angeles Convention Center, a wallop of guitar and drums rang through the room.

Jon Bon Jovi, sleek in all black, took his rightful place center stage as drummer Tico Torres, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Hugh McDonald and guitarists John Shanks and Phil X launched into an anthemic intro of “Whoa-oh-oh-ohs.”

The audience who had come to honor Bon Jovi’s philanthropic efforts at the annual MusiCares gala glanced around with puzzled looks.

Was this a new Bon Jovi song? If so, were they debuting it as the opening salvo at a glitzy Grammys charity event when the MusiCares honoree doesn't usually perform until the end of the night? And was that Paul McCartney sitting at a front table pumping his first along to the very-Bon-Jovi chorus?

Yes, yes and yes.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

“Legendary,” the first single from Bon Jovi’s 16 th studio album “Forever,” out June 7, received its christening in a room that included McCartney , Bruce Springsteen , Melissa Etheridge, Shania Twain and numerous other music VIPs.

A few weeks later, the infectious pop rock song lyrically rooted in Bon Jovi's trademarks of loyalty, friendship and a blue-collar ethos began its steady chart climb , eventually landing in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales and Adult Contemporary charts.

It was an auspicious rollout for the band’s first album since “2020” as well as the first for frontman Jon Bon Jovi since undergoing vocal cord surgery in 2022.

During a recent interview about the band’s four-part Hulu documentary, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” Bon Jovi, 62, also shared some insight into a few of the songs on “Forever.”

More: Billy Joel turns 75: His 75 best songs, definitively ranked

Bon Jovi is still rocking the talk box

The second single from the album, the rhythmically pumping “Living Proof," is coated with another Bon Jovi hallmark – the talk box, which the band reinvigorated from its ‘70s-era origins on its signature smash, “Livin’ on a Prayer,” and bowed to again for 2000’s “It’s My Life.”

“I will give Richie (Sambora) full compliments for commandeering the talk box in 1986,” Bon Jovi says of the band’s original guitarist and frequent song collaborator . “We both knew it of course from (Peter) Frampton and Joe Walsh, but I would think from ’86 forward that instrument belongs to Richie and to Bon Jovi using it again.”

Bon Jovi is careful to credit his forebears for the distinctive wonky sound created by the mouth device and says he returns to the credo his mother told him: “Find out who your influence's influences were … because now if anyone says oh, the talk box, that’s Bon Jovi. No.”

Jon Bon Jovi writes a love letter to his wife

The ninth track on “Forever,” the piano ballad “I Wrote You a Song,” is a sweet testimony of love shaded with insecurity.

“How could it ever be beautiful enough?” Bon Jovi sings in a slightly strained voice.

The target of his affection is obvious, he says. His wife of 35 years , Dorothea.

Words including “I can’t give you the ocean or the sky/the wonders of the world can’t compare to you/I did the only thing I know how to do – I wrote you a song,” as well as the melody, came to Bon Jovi in the middle of the night.

“I had a notebook next to my bed,” he recalls, “which I sometimes do when I’m in a place where I’m writing and I know that position well – in your underwear on the side of the bed, asleep with a pen in your hand and scribbling and you wake up to see every single word of that first verse and the melody written.”

Bon Jovi shared the lyrics with co-writer Billy Falcon but still fretted about landing the perfect title.

“Billy said, ‘I Wrote You a Song’ and I was like, ‘Ah!.’ The simplest thing you could possibly say.”

More: James Taylor talks koalas, the 'gravitational attraction' of touring and Taylor Swift

Bon Jovi salutes The Beatles’ ‘A Day in the Life’

The dozen songs on “Forever” balance between ballads and barroom stompers. “Seeds” is one of the most memorable for its hook and fantastical ending that pays homage to The Beatles’ “A Day in the Life.”

Bon Jovi says he was inspired to write the song while looking out of the window of his Manhattan apartment and watching the people wandering around in a park. “There are 100 stories happening right now and these people don’t even know that their stories are intersecting at this moment,” he remembers thinking at the time.

He credits his “current self-help way” of “trying to get back to joy” for inspiring the image of seeds “trying to find our place in the weeds.”

The song rockets to a swirling strings-and-drums climax that is reminiscent of The Beatles’ ingenious concoction that caps their “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album. “Seeds” wraps with a sustained chord, similar to the one that famously closes “A Day in the Life.”

“From inception, I knew what I wanted (with the song) and it was absolutely ‘A Day in the Life,’” Bon Jovi says. He enlisted noted composer David Campbell to arrange the strings.

“I full-on wanted the George Martin, Beatles-esque climb. And I think we achieved it,” Bon Jovi says.

Jon Bon Jovi is hardly a 'Hollow Man'

The closing song on “Forever,” the contemplative “Hollow Man,” might concern fans with its ruminative lyrics over mournful slide guitar.

“What do you sing when the song’s been sung?/Who do you fight when the war is won?/What do you write when the book is done?” Bon Jovi wonders, then later in the song, “How does it work when the words don’t come?”

It might sound like a declaration of defeat, but Bon Jovi isn’t swaggering into the sunset.

Touring remains uncertain because of his self-mandate that his voice is fit enough to perform a 2 ½-hour concert four nights a week. But he’s continuing to rebuild his vocal strength and maintain his optimism.

“Every day,” Bon Jovi says, “I work at it.”
