By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Aerosmith have announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was suspended in September 2023 because Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. This new leg kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and wraps up Feb. 26 in Buffalo, New York. They’ll once again be joined by the Black Crowes.

The band announced plans to wrap their career with one final tour in May 2023, but they played a mere three shows before Tyler severely hurt his larynx. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” he wrote in a message to fans. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

AEROSMITH Announces Rescheduled Dates For 'Peace Out' Farewell Tour

AEROSMITH   has announced the rescheduled dates for the band's "Peace Out" farewell tour.

The trek will kick off on September 20 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the legendary Massachusetts rockers played at the start of last year's original run, and will include a return appearance at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 41-date tour will conclude on February 26, 2025 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Support on the trek will once again come from THE BLACK CROWES , who recently released their new album, "Happiness Bastards" .

AEROSMITH postponed the original "Peace Out" farewell tour dates after singer Steven Tyler suffered vocal cord damage in September 2023. The news came two weeks after AEROSMITH postponed six shows on the trek in order to allow Tyler time to recover from his injury.

When AEROSMITH announced the tour postponement, the band said in a statement: : "To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven 's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.

"He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled 'Peace Out' shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more."

Tyler said in an accompanying statement: "I am heartbroken to not be out there with AEROSMITH , my brothers and the incredible BLACK CROWES , rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!"

AEROSMITH kicked off its "Peace Out" farewell on September 2, 2023 at the 21,000-capacity Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

AEROSMITH 's 18-song set opened with "Back In The Saddle" and included a cover of FLEETWOOD MAC 's "Stop Messin' Around" , before closing with a two-song encore of "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" .

Produced by Live Nation , the 40-date North American tour was scheduled to make stops at arenas across the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles's Kia Forum, New York's Madison Square Garden and Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, with a special stop in their hometown of Boston for New Year's Eve 2023.

The "Peace Out" run of dates was originally set to wrap on January 26, 2024 in Montreal. Special guests THE BLACK CROWES were joining AEROSMITH for the entire tour, which was to celebrate AEROSMITH 's five decades of music.

Prior to the launch of "Peace Out" , AEROSMITH wrapped its critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Ahead of the residency, AEROSMITH returned to its hometown in Boston to perform a record-breaking one-off show at Fenway Park as part of the legendary band's 50th anniversary celebrations. With over 38,700 people in attendance, it was the most tickets sold to date for a show at the iconic venue.

In May 2022, AEROSMITH announced that Tyler had entered a treatment program following a relapse, prompting the band to put their Las Vegas residency on a temporary hold.

Tyler had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction since the mid-1980s. Over the course of the last four decades, he had relapsed several times, including in the early 2000s and 2009.

Aerosmith postpones farewell tour dates to 2024 after Steven Tyler suffers fractured larynx

Aerosmith "Farewell Tour" Opener - Philadelpha, PA

Aerosmith has some news that may leave fans ‘Cryin.’”

A vocal injury to frontman Steven Tyler, 75, is "more serious than initially thought" and has resulted in all dates on the band's current "Peace Out" tour being pushed to "sometime in 2024," according to the band.

Tyler's doctor confirmed that the singer fractured his larynx in addition to damaging his vocal cords during a show earlier this month, which will require ongoing care, according to a Sept. 29 Instagram post by the band.

"He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of the fracture, he is being told patience is essential," the band wrote.

"All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend on the new tour dates," the band noted, adding fans with questions about refunds should contact the seller they purchased their tickets from.

“I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!” Tyler said in a statement in the Instagram post.

The announcement about Tyler's larynx injury came nearly three weeks after the band shared on Sept. 11 that it would be postponing some tour dates in the next month because Tyler hurt his vocal cords during a concert in Elmont, New York.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler said in the announcement .

“I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

The band had previously announced rescheduled dates for January and February 2024, but wrote on Sept. 29 that "new dates will be announced as soon as we know more."

Aerosmith was  inducted  into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and has put out eight songs in the Billboard Hot 100 over its long run. The band announced t he farewell tour in May and began the 40-date North American excursion Sept. 2 in Philadelphia. It had initially been set to wrap up Jan. 26 in Montreal.

Aerosmith "Peace Out: The Farewell Tour" - New York

The group has dealt with Tyler’s health before, canceling concerts at its Las Vegas residency last year when he entered a treatment program  for substance abuse.

Tyler was joined on the “Peace Out” tour by longtime bandmates Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joe Perry but not drummer Joey Kramer.

“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health,” the band said when announcing the tour.

“Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

The “Dream On” band postponed the next six concerts, all of which were rescheduled for January and February 2024. They will play Detroit on Jan. 29; Chicago on Feb. 14; Washington, D.C. on Feb. 17; Toronto on Feb. 21; Raleigh, North Carolina on Feb. 26; and Cleveland on Feb. 29.

The news comes just three shows into Aerosmith’s Peace Out: The Farewell Tour , which began on Sept. 2 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia . The Bad Boys from Boston played a hit-filled setlist that included “Love in an Elevator,” “Janie’s Got a Gun,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “Walk This Way.” They also paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac with a cover of “Stop Messin’ Around.”

The concert marked the band’s 40th concert in Philadelphia. Original band members Joe Perry , Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford joined Tyler. John Douglas replaced original drummer Joey Kramer behind the kit. Kramer took a “ temporary leave of absence ” from the band in March 2022, sitting out the band’s Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency . His wife, Linda, died at age 55 in June 2022 .

In May 2022, the band put the Las Vegas residency on hold when Tyler entered a treatment program for relapse after undergoing foot surgery to prepare for the band’s return to the stage.

“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years,” the band shared in a statement last year. “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”

Aerosmith played more Las Vegas shows in September 2022 , but plans to play in December were scuttled due to Tyler’s health.

"On the advice of my doctor, I'm taking more time to rest," Tyler said in a December statement . "There is nowhere we'd rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world."

Aerosmith postpone remaining farewell tour dates to 2024 due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury

"I promise we will be back as soon as we can," Tyler said in a statement.

Emlyn Travis is a news writer at  Entertainment Weekly  with over five years of experience covering the latest in entertainment. A proud Kingston University alum, Emlyn has written about music, fandom, film, television, and awards for multiple outlets including MTV News,  Teen Vogue , Bustle, BuzzFeed,  Paper Magazine , Dazed, and NME. She joined EW in August 2022.

Aerosmith announced Friday that they are postponing their farewell tour until next year so frontman Steven Tyler can recover from a recent vocal injury.

"To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care," the band said in a statement posted to social media . "He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential."

The statement concluded, "As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers said that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for their rescheduled 2024 tour dates, including those postponed earlier this month . Those who are unable to attend the new dates will be able to request a refund.

In his own statement, Tyler added, "I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!"

Earlier this month, Aerosmith announced that they had to postpone six shows in the U.S. and Canada after Tyler sustained "vocal cord damage" less than two weeks into their Peace Out farewell tour. Those dates have since been rescheduled for January and February 2024.

"I'm heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor's orders not to sing for the next thirty days," Tyler said at the time. "I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday's show that led to subsequent bleeding. We'll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve."

The Peace Out tour, which began at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Sept. 2, features the band performing their greatest hits, including "Sweet Emotion," "Walk This Way," and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."

Aerosmith Postponed Some Upcoming Farewell Tour Dates After Steven Tyler Sustained ‘Vocal Cord Damage’

Lexi Lane

Aerosmith have sadly postponed part of their Peace Out… Farewell Tour , as Steven Tyler recently revealed that he has suffered an injury to his vocal cords. While the band kicked off their shows in Philadelphia on September 2 and only got three dates in, they were also supposed to play a show tonight in Toronto.

Their next show is now not until October 11 in Tampa.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler shared in a Twitter statement.

“I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding,” he added. “We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Thankfully, all tickets that were originally purchased will be valid for the new dates. Refunds for those who can no longer attend are available through where they were purchased.

Aerosmith announces 2023 farewell ‘peace out’ tour: get tickets today.

Steven Tyler (L) jams out with Joe Perry.

After more than 50 years together, Aerosmith has decided to “Peace Out.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band just announced their 40-concert farewell ‘Peace Out’ Tour that will send them all over North America from September through January 2024.

“(We’re) kind of anxious to get back on the road,“ guitarist Joe Perry said.

While touring with special guest The Black Crowes, Aerosmith will stop into Long Island’s UBS Arena on Sept. 9, Newark’s Prudential Center on Dec. 28, Buffalo’s KeyBank Center on Jan. 16 and New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Jan. 19.

“Be there or beware as we bring all the toys out of the attic,” frontman Steven Tyler quipped referencing the band’s classic 1975 album.

And if you want to be there, you don’t have to “Dream On” — we’re here to help you pick up tickets to see the four-time Grammy winners as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, May 5, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Aerosmith has said they may may add more tour dates to the ‘Peace Out Tour’ but the shows that are scheduled will likely be their last time performing in each city.

With 360 days of sun a year and a burgeoning art community, St. Petersburg has a lot to celebrate—and does with a variety of diverse festivals year round. The Florida Pirate Festival celebrates Caribbean nautical naughtiness with cannons, comedy and characters while the Strictly Sail St. Petersburg is a destination event for sailing enthusiasts from around the country. St. Petersburg festivals commemorate the finer things in life, especially the Mainsail Arts Festival, a fine art show on a grand scale, and the rock-n-roll fueled Ribfest, a three-day event catering to sauce-loving carnivores. If that's not enough, St. Petersburg even makes up reasons to get festive. The annual SnowFest happens every December and brings man-made snow and ice-skating to downtown St. Petersburg.
