The comedian, 57, announced on social media Wednesday that he'll be embarking on a comedy tour in North America from October to December, with 25 dates in total throughout the U.S. and Canada. The run of shows, titled the I Missed You Tour , is set to kick off Oct. 12 in Vancouver.

"Let’s have some fun," Sandler captioned an Instagram trailer, which included clips of him playing the guitar, taking some crowd selfies at a handful of shows and getting plenty of laughs.

The latest run of shows follows the Uncut Gems actor's Adam Sandler LIVE gigs, which concluded in April. The I Missed You Tour — which is produced by Live Nation — features stops in Portland, San Jose, Toronto, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Rochester, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, and beyond — with a final date on Dec. 12 in Denver.

Live Nation ticket presale kicks off at 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, with a Ticketmaster general sale starting at 12 p.m. local time on Friday.

Actor Pauly Shore shared his excitement under Sandler's Instagram post with the comment, "Daaaaa Sand man is back boom boom broozzz."

Sandler's tour announcement arrives shortly after he and his family starred in the Netflix teen film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah , which followed the crew as they navigated planning the perfect bat mitzvah.

Adam and wife Jackie Sandler's daughters — Sunny , 14, and   Sadie , 17 — play the roles of two teens as the film "chronicles the high comedy and modern teen angst that comes with family, friendship, and first crushes," per a synopsis .

"What’s really funny is right before we started prepping for the film,  Sunny  had her actual bat mitzvah," director Sammi Cohen told PEOPLE in August of the film. "So I went to that service, and we got to do the real-life bat mitzvah and then left to make the movie. It was a really fun life movie moment."

"It was really, really fun. And it was, again, it was just such a perfect moment of life meets movie. It was just magical."

In March, Sandler was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The honor came as   Jennifer Aniston ,  Chris Rock ,  Pete Davidson , and more toasted the Saturday Night Live alum for his decades in show business.

Rob Schneider also shared a few kind words with his friend at the event, while performing a rendition of Sandler's "Grow Old With You" from  The Wedding Singer soundtrack.

"Nobody gave Adam Sandler his success. Adam earned this through his hard work in a really tough business, show business," Schneider said. "People ask me: why does Adam put me in so many movies? And it's because he wants to laugh and share his tremendous success with his friends, plus I will do really humiliating s--- that he won't do."

"Adam is a very generous guy,"  David Spade  also shared. "He has hired his whole family tree to work for him. The call sheet looks like Ancestry.com."

Sandler thanked his friends and family when collecting his award after several hilarious speeches, noting that "everybody was great."

"I feel like everyone who came and spoke up there, I think we all truly love each other," he said. "We have each other's backs for life. People always would ask me those bad reviews you get, how does that make you feel, like s---? It really doesn't. I think the reason I get to say it didn't hurt me is because so many of you guys in this room made me feel great about what we've done together."

Adam Sandler upcoming projects

Sandler always has a few irons in the fire.

Here’s what’s coming next for the prolific comedian.

“Murder Mystery 2” (2023):  The sequel to the hit 2019 caper co-starring Jennifer Aniston filmed in Hawaii, and Paris, France. Although no plot details have been released, an entire cast list has. Joining Sandler and Aniston this time around are Mark Strong (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Melanie Laurent (“Inglourious Basterds”), and Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”). An action-packed trailer can be seen here.

“ Leo” (2023): Sandler stars alongside Heidi Gardner (“Saturday Night Live”) and Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”) in this animated film about a 74-year-old lizard who, along with his turtle friend, escape from the terrarium of a Florida school classroom they’ve been living in for decades. Jason Alexander, Bill Burr, Cecily Strong, Robert Smigel and Jo Koy round out the voice cast.

“ Spaceman” (2023):  Based on the 2017 sci-fi novel “ Spaceman of Bohemia ,” the book follows the Czech Republic’s first independent astronaut. Sent on a dangerous solo mission, he leaves his wife behind and befriends a giant arachnid. No word on how closely the movie follows the original storyline. Paul Dano (“The Batman”), Carey Mulligan (“Promising Young Woman”), and Isabella Rossellini (“Blue Velvet”) co-star

“ You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” (TBD):  Adapted from Fiona Rosembloom’s 2005 Young Adult text, “ YASNITMBM ” centers around 13-year-old Stacey preparing for her titular Bat Mitzvah. Everything falls apart when she discovers her best friend locking lips with her crush. His family will join Sandler for this one; his wife Jackie and daughters Sadie and Sunny are all attached to the project.

Plus, Sandler has untitled Safdie Brothers and Noah Baumbach project in the works.

Plot details are under wraps for both projects; Brad Pitt is confirmed to star with Sandler in the Baumbach Netflix film according to the New York Post .

The Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore Rom-Com You Didn’t Know Was Based On a True Story

The Big Picture

  • 50 First Dates is a beloved rom-com starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
  • 50 First Dates follows a man who falls in love with a woman who has amnesia.
  • 50 First Dates is loosely based on the true story of Michelle Philpots, who wakes up every day believing that it's 1994.

When it comes to the rom-com genre, few scene-partners have ruled the screen quite as well as Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore . With classics such as The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, and Blended under their belt, it’s no wonder why. Each film blends Sandler’s signature slapstick comedy with some super cute romance elements to create the perfect rom-com. And it just so happens that one of those rom-coms was based, at least partly, on a true story. That film is none other than 2004’s 50 First Dates . It’s a favorite among fans of the genre for good reason. Despite a premise that feels far-fetched, the movie pulls it off with finesse and crafts a heartwarming story of romance and devotion to the one you love. But as it turns out, the story isn’t all that unbelievable, because it was loosely based on a true story .

50 First Dates

What is ‘50 first dates about’.

50 First Dates follows a man named Henry (Sandler), a marine veterinarian in Hawaii, and a womanizer to the utmost degree. But one day, he strolls into a Café and meets a woman named Lucy (Barrymore). He’s immediately taken with her, and the two get to know each other over breakfast. It goes so well, in fact, that Lucy agrees to meet him for breakfast the next morning as well. But to Henry’s surprise, when he shows up the next morning, Lucy doesn’t remember meeting him. At first, he thinks she’s just lost interest and is simply pretending not to remember him. But that’s not the case. It turns out that a year prior, Lucy was in an accident that rendered her with amnesia. The catch being she can only remember the events leading up to the day before the accident, and every night her memory rests. Leaving her in a constant cycle of reliving the same day over and over again.

Henry then makes it his mission to get to know Lucy, despite the obstacle of her not being able to remember him. He enacts a series of “chance meetings” every day, and the two begin to fall for one another, against the wishes of Lucy’s father Marlin ( Blake Clark ) and brother Doug ( Sean Astin ). But when Lucy begins changing up her routine in slight ways, such as singing The Beach Boys songs, they begin to realize that maybe Henry isn’t so bad, and that he’s actually helping Lucy’s condition. Despite some bumps in the road, Lucy and Henry fall in love. With Henry going so far as to making her a tape that calmly explains her situation to her so she’s never left in the dark again. It’s peak romance, even if the premise feels a little unbelievable. But as it turns out, the story of the film is actually based on a real woman named Michelle Philpots , who experiences a situation similar to Lucy’s every day.

‘50 First Dates’ is Loosely Based on a True Story

Michelle Philpots, is a woman in Lincolnshire, who wakes up every day believing it’s 1994 . Much like Lucy, from the film 50 First Dates , Philpots was involved in accidents that left her with a unique type of amnesia. The first accident came in 1985, and the second came in 1990. In both accidents, she suffered head trauma, but it wasn’t until 4 years later, in 1994, that she began to show the effects of it. She was initially diagnosed with Epilepsy due to the trauma she suffered in the accidents, but her condition continued to worsen. She began having regular seizures and was becoming forgetful, to the point where she was fired from her job due to challenges with her memory. Eventually, her memory just sort of froze in 1994, meaning she wakes up every day believing it’s still that year , and has to be told otherwise.

Unlike Lucy, whose memory resets every night when she sleeps, Michelle’s memory loss works a little differently. She does forget what happened every day, that doesn’t change, but sometimes her memory loss can occur within minutes. Meaning she could meet someone, and then forget she did so just five minutes later, even while she’s still talking to them. Which can be especially troubling when it comes to her husband Ian Philpots. In an interview with Daily Mail , Ian shared his experience in navigating Michelle’s memory loss.

“It can be very frustrating for me but I have to be patient and understand. I have to keep calm because I love her.” He explained. “I've known her for 25 years so I am lucky we met before she had the accidents because she can remember me. Luckily we have lots of photos to remind her, otherwise she would forget it all.”

He even says that every morning he has to explain to her that they are married, and sometimes has to bring out their wedding photos to convince her.

The 12 Best Drew Barrymore Movies, Ranked

The multi-talented star is a certified cinematic icon.

Much like the character in the movie , Michelle is forced to learn that she no longer has a functioning memory every single day, which is surely traumatic no matter how quickly her memory resets. But rest assured she has a good support system and has found ways to make navigating her new world easier. From post-it notes to calendars detailing what she has to do in a day, Michelle has found a way to make the most of her situation. Though it does get hard from time to time.

"I love to watch EastEnders but I can't remember the characters or any storylines," She shared with Daily Mail. "It's like I am living the same day, day after day."

Like Lucy in 50 First Dates though, Michelle has a loving support system that is patient with her and helps her every step of the way. It’s no wonder 50 First Dates took inspiration from Michelle’s story, it's inspirational and so amazing to see how her loved ones rally around her. Now that’s the kind of story we need more of!

50 First Dates is available to stream on Hulu in the U.S.

32 Of Adam Sandler’s Funniest Quotes From Movies and SNL

Decades of hilarious lines, here.

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison

When you think of some of the funniest actors of the last several decades, one that always comes to mind, no matter what, is Adam Sandler . Getting his start on the hilarious sketch show Saturday Night Live and then moving on to movies that have become classic comedy films, the actor has said some pretty hilarious lines. Here are Adam Sandler's funniest quotes from movies and Saturday Night Live, all of which will make you laugh.

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison.

“Sometimes I Feel Like An Idiot, But I Am An Idiot, So It Kinda Works Out” (Billy Madison)

One of Adam Sandler's best movies is Billy Madison, the story of a young man who has to pass grades 1-12 to inherit his father's business – a chain of hotels. The only issue is that Billy is an idiot, but he's alright with that – as he says in this quote, "Sometimes I feel like an idiot, but I am an idiot, so it kind of works out."

Adam Sandler playing guitar on Weekend Update.

“Paul Newman's Half Jewish, Goldie Hawn's Half Too, Put Them Together; What A Fine-Lookin' Jew!” (Saturday Night Live)

Adam Sandler is known for his catchy tunes, and one of his most well-known ones was "The Chanukah Song" which he performed on Saturday Night Live . Among the funny lines in this seasonal tune is, "Paul Newman's half Jewish, Goldie Hawn's half too. Put them together, what a fine lookin' Jew." It's hard to imagine anyone else singing this song -- only Adam Sandler could make that line so funny.

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison.

“T-T-T-TODAY JUNIOR!” (Billy Madison)

Billy Madison is one of Sandler's best films, with many hilarious lines. And while this wasn't the most excellent thing for Billy to say, it was hilarious in its delivery. When a child struggled to read, Billy yelled, "T-T-T-TODAY JUNIOR!" Which ends in him getting in trouble, of course.

Adam Sandler on Saturday Night Live.

"She Ripped Open My Chest And Pulled Out My Heart, But It's Fine. (Saturday Night Live)

During a sketch called "The Denise Show" on Saturday Night Live , Adam Sandler played Brian, who was hosting a show to mourn the loss of his relationship with Denise (another character). And before he begins the show, he says, "She ripped open my chest and pulled out my heart, but it's fine."

Ouch, but so funny because who hasn't gone through a breakup that bad?

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison.

“You Ain’t Cool, Unless You Pee Your Pants (Billy Madison)

Billy Madison gave fans some great one-liners for Adam Sandler lovers, and this one is there. In this scene, he purposely puts water on his pants to help out a kid who unfortunately wet himself, so to stand up for the kid, he says to the other children, "you ain't cool, unless you pee your pants." Hilarious but also heartfelt that he helped the child.

Adam Sandler on Saturday Night Live.

"I Like To Rest My Hands In Your Kangaroo Pouch.” (Saturday Night Live)

Sandler's tunes that he would often sing on Saturday Night Live were iconic for a reason, and one of his best was "Red Hooded Sweatshirt," a song that he sang in honor of Valentine's Day for the love he felt for his sweatshirt, a gift from his mother. The hilarious line is "I like to rest my hands in your kangaroo pouch, it makes them feel comfy like a big soft couch."

It's such a strange combination of lyrics that makes you chuckle, but also so true. I need an oversized sweatshirt now.

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison.

"You Blew It!" (Billy Madison)

Billy Madison sends fans laughing with this one. When Billy had one of his school friends call their teacher (whom he had a crush on) and the call does not go well, Billy exposes himself on the call; he angrily says, " You blew it!" before storming off – even though he was the one who blew it. Plenty of things don’t make sense about Billy Madison , but to me, that’s the perfect line.

Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi and Brendan Frasier in Airheads.

"I Don't Wanna Go To Jail; I'm Fragile" (Airheads)

Airheads starred Brenden Fraser, Steve Buscemi , and Adam Sandler as the Lone Rangers in Airheads, a comedy film about a band that hijacks a radio station to play their music. Sandler delivers some hilarious one-liners here, but my favorite is when they're hiding in a closet, and his character says, "I don't wanna go to jail; I'm fragile" in the softest, most hilarious way.

Adam Sandler on Saturday Night Live.

“Say When” (Saturday Night Live)

One of my favorite Adam Sandler sketches is "Pepper Boy," where Sandler plays a waiter who is learning how to listen to customers' demands when putting pepper on their dish. He's not the brightest bulb in the garden, and he winds up putting pepper on a chocolate mousse, all while asking the person, "say when" repeatedly.

Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories.

“Haven’t You Heard? Goofy Is The New Handsome” (Bedtime Stories)

Bedtime Stories is an underrated Adam Sandler movie, where the stories the main character told his niece and nephew would come to life. In this movie, Sandler delivers this line, "Haven't you heard? Goofy is the new handsome," and somehow pulls off this funny pick-up line.

Adam Sandler and Chris Farley on Saturday Night Live.

“Where's Joey? I Need Him. I Need Joey. I Want Joey.” (Saturday Night Live)

In the Saturday Night Live skit, "Bobby Watches Grandma," Sandler becomes the grandma. This complex woman immediately asks for one of her grandsons, Joey, when Joey's brother looks after her. He screams, "Where's Joey, I need him. I need Joey, I want Joey!" in the most dramatic way possible, and it's hilarious.

Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

"Why Didn't You Just Go HOME? That's Your HOME! Are You Too Good For Your Home? Answer Me!” (Happy Gilmore)

If you've ever played golf of any kind, you've had this feeling. In Happy Gilmore , a story about an amateur golfer entering a tournament to win money for his grandmother, Sandler's character, Happy, grows frustrated when a ball does not go in the hole. In front of several people, he screams at the ball, "Why didn't you just go HOME? That's your HOME! Are you too good for your HOME? Answer me!" You can't help but laugh.

Adam Sandler on Saturday Night Live.

"What's Wrong With Just Using Your Face?" (Saturday Night Live)

Sandler visited Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live to give costume ideas to those viewers trying to dress up on a budget. Sandler's hilarious line was, "If you want an original, scary Halloween costume, use your imagination. What's wrong with just using your face?"

Now, that's a burn that makes me laugh every time.

From left to right: Bob Barker standing next to Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

“I’d Love To Punch That Guy In The Face Right Now.” (Happy Gilmore)

Happy Gilmore is one of the funniest sports movies , and this line is one of the best. During a golf competition, Sandler is aggravated by what is happening and openly says, "I'd love to punch that guy in the face right now, but I can't, because I'd get in trouble."

It's an obvious line, but the way Sandler says it makes it much funnier as if he was telling someone the weather.

Adam Sandler in Funny People.

“Are You Mad That You Died At The End Of ‘Die Hard?’” (Funny People)

In the film Funny People, Sandler plays George Simmons, a comedian diagnosed with an illness. When Simmons visits a doctor and notes how terrifying the doctor's accent is, he openly says to him, "Are you mad that you died at the end of Die Hard ? " Talk about something to never say to your doctor.

Adam Sandler in 50 First Dates.

"I Knew You Were Gonna Burp But The Vomit Thing Was Awesome. That's What She Gets For Eating My Roast Beef Sandwich" (50 First Dates)

I love 50 First Dates and all the behind-the-scenes facts about it, and the film itself is so funny.

Sandler's character, Henry Roth, is a veterinarian at a Sea Life Park in Hawaii, aiming to help a walrus. After the walrus eventually burps and then vomits all over Sandler's co-worker to feel better, he shows the walrus that he's proud of him, saying, "I knew you were gonna burp, but that vomit thing was awesome – that's what she gets for eating my roast beef sandwich."

Lesson learned: never eat Sandler's sandwiches.

Adam Sandler in Bulletproof.

“You’d Better Not Kill Me, Man!” (Bulletproof)

Bulletproof is a hilarious buddy cop film starring Sandler and Damon Wayans. In this film, Sandler's character, Archie Moses, is talking to his enemy and hurriedly says, "You'd better not kill me, man," followed by saying that he has certain "things" to do the next day. Because, yes, we all turn into scaredy cats when faced with death.

Adam Sandler on SNL

“A Turkey For Me, A Turkey For You, Let's Eat Turkey In A Big Brown Shoe.” (Saturday Night Live)

Possibly one of Sandler's best songs that he has sung is "Thanksgiving Song," a song that celebrates Thanksgiving. In this song, Sandler says, "A turkey for me, a turkey for you, let's eat turkey in a big brown shoe." The line doesn't make sense because who's eating turkey in a shoe? But it makes me laugh every time.

Adam Sandler as Opera Man on Weekend Update.

“Dio In Heaveno, Per Favor, Un More Matcho, Be So Greato.” (Saturday Night Live)

In the SNL skit "Opera Man," Sandler plays the popular character. One of the best lines this character delivered was "Dio in heaveno, per favor, un more matcho, be so greato" – which was him singing about a lottery ticket and wanting more money. I mean, come on. That's hilarious.

Adam Sandler in Airheads.

“I Ain’t Fartin’ On No Snare Drum.” (Airheads)

Airheads is a hilarious musical comedy film, and Sandler's character, Pip, delivers this great line, "I ain't fartin' on now snare drum," when someone says that their record could be him farting on a snare drum. They didn't mean it in a literal way, but it was hilarious nevertheless.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer

“We’re Living In A Material World And I Am A Material Girl, Or Boy.” (The Wedding Singer)

The Wedding Singer was pitched to Adam Sandler by Drew Barrymore , and it became one of his biggest hits. The movie follows a wedding singer who falls in love with a waitress. When his character, Robby, describes his outlook on life, he says, "We are living in a material world, and I am a material girl, or boy." It references a classic Madonna song. It's hysterical.

Adam Sandler and Kevin James in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

“For The Record, Everytime I Laughed At One Of Your Jokes, I Was Faking It.” (I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry)

In the film I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Sandler and Kevin James star as two firefighters who pretend to be a gay couple and get married so their children can get healthcare. They have a "couple's spat" where Chuck openly says to Larry, "Every time I laughed at one of your jokes, I was faking it," to which Larry responds, "You monster!" Gets me every time.

Adam Sandler in The Waterboy

"Now That's What I Call High Quality H20!" (The Waterboy)

The Waterboy is a great sports movie about an older man serving as the waterboy for a college football team. While plenty of lines from this movie are hilarious, his character, Bobby, saying, "Now that's what I call high-quality H2O!" always makes me snicker because who says that? That's so funny.

Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

“I Was On This Tour For One Reason: Money. But Now I Got A New Reason” (Happy Gilmore)

Happy Gilmore is one of the funniest sports movies, and Sandler perfectly delivers this line. His character, Happy, enters a tournament for money. Still, he tells Shooter McGavin, a pro, "I was on this tour for one reason: money. But now I got a new reason," followed by a hilarious expletive. He truly wanted to stick it to an arrogant professional – and the following interaction is just as funny.

Adam Sandler screaming at the dinner table in Billy Madison

"Ha Ha Ha. Shut Up!" (Billy Madison)

In Billy Madison, Sandler sarcastically laughs at someone, "Ha ha ha," before yelling sarcastically, "Shut up!" Yes, it's just as dramatic as you can expect it to be from Sandler.

Chris Farley and Adam Sandler on SNL

“It Screamed Why Do You Burn Me And Serve Me Up Cold?” (Saturday Night Live)

In the skit, "Lunchlady Land," Sandler sings another ode with Chris Farley about lunch ladies, and this hilarious line is about the pepperoni pizza that lunch ladies serve, saying, "It screamed, why do you burn me and serve me up cold?" Because yes, lunch school pizzas are precisely that.

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Murder Mystery

"You're Watching A Real Person." (Murder Mystery)

Murder Mystery with co-star Jennifer Aniston is hilarious, and this line is so funny.

When their characters arrive on this yacht, Aniston's character, Audrey, compliments a woman behind her back, while also theorizing about her nationality because Audrey states, "she's that kind of pretty that you don't know what kind country she's from."

The woman, of course, hears her comments, and blatantly responds "Japan," flustering Audrey just a bit. Nick (Sandler) deadpans to Audrey, "You see? She can hear you; she's not on television right now, you're watching a real person."

I loved Murder Mystery 2 as much as the first with these kinds one-liners in both.

Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer.

“Well I Have A Microphone, And You Don’t.” (The Wedding Singer)

In The Wedding Singer, when Robbie is speaking about his thoughts on one of the marriages, and someone mocks him, he screams into the microphone, "Well, I have the microphone, and you don't," and follows by saying they will listen to every word he has to say.

Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

"Oh, She Got Hit By A Car; She's Dead." (Happy Gilmore)

Happy Gilmore is hysterical in many ways, and how Happy says this line is so funny. His grandmother asks Sandler about a girl he used to date, and he responds, "Oh, she got hit by a car; she's dead." What? Talk about the most hilarious way of responding.

Adam Sandler in Spanglish.

“Worrying About Your Kids Is Sanity, And Being That Sane… Can Drive You Nuts.” (Spanglish)

In Spanglish, Sandler's character, John, delivers this line, "Worrying about your kids is sanity, and being that sane… can drive you nuts." I don't think there's ever been a more hilarious yet meaningful line about being a parent that's ever been said.

Adam Sandler in Funny People.

“I Don’t Know How To Fight, I’m A Comedian!” (Funny People)

In the film Funny People, Sandler delivers this hilarious line when fighting someone who says to "fight like a man," he responds, "I don't know how to fight; I'm a comedian!"

Dracula (Adam Sandler) in Hotel Transylvania.

“I Do Not Go, ‘Bleh, Bleh-Bleh.” (Hotel Transylvania)

There are plenty of great animated movies, but the Hotel Transylvania franchise is beloved. Sandler's character, Dracula, explains to a human who has trespassed in his monster's only hotel that he does not go "bleh, bleh-bleh" like every portrayal of him says he does. It's a hilarious line and one that I laugh at a lot.

As Adam Sandler is hilarious in so many ways, it surely won't be long before we get new quotes from him, but for now, I'll laugh my butt off reading these.
