The Oasis 2025 Tour Tickets Controversy: What Happened and Will Extra Dates Be Added?
A fter breaking up 15 years ago, iconic rock band Oasis announced on Aug. 27 that they would be reuniting for a U.K. and Ireland tour in 2025. The news that formerly feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will once again share the stage has been met with enthusiasm—but not without controversy.
The announcement of the tour resulted in an "unprecedented demand" for tickets, leading the band to add even more U.K. and Ireland dates. Still, the quest for tickets via Ticketmaster has been marred with frustration over technological issues, pricing, and touts.
Here’s a breakdown of the Oasis ticketing controversy and where things currently stand.
Issues with Ticketmaster
On Friday, Aug. 30, fans who had been selected in the pre-sale ballot waited in a queue on Ticketmaster—which dominates concert and sporting tickets around the world—ahead of the three-hour window for pre-sale purchases. On X (formerly Twitter), many fans complained about technical difficulties preventing them from accessing tickets. Some people got locked out of their Ticketmaster accounts , or were virtually queuing behind tens of thousands of people, only to be kicked out of the Ticketmaster queue or to receive an error notification once they finally reach the checkout stage of the ticket-buying process.
When the tickets went on general sale on Saturday, Aug. 31, fans complained of the same issues.

Former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, widely known to be a long-time Oasis fan, even entered the conversation. While attending the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon, he shared that he had been in the queue for reunion tour tickets , but was unlucky and hadn’t received a (pre-sale ballot) code.
In addition to the queuing and technical problems, there’s also been backlash about the prices. Within an hour of the pre-sale, tickets appeared on re-selling sites for triple the face value.
Oasis spoke out on X about the controversy and prices, telling fans that tickets can only be re-sold at face value via certain websites. “Tickets appearing on other secondary ticketing sites are either counterfeit or will be cancelled by the promoters,” the post read.
Yet, the controversy is also connected to Ticketmaster’s own price raising, since during the sale, they upped their own prices for “in-demand” tickets. As fans finally entered the ticket-selection portion of the website, they found out that tickets that were originally £148 ($194) were being sold at £355 ($466) . Ticketmaster introduced this “ in-demand” dynamic pricing system in 2022 , which allows their prices to inflate according to the market demand.
Fans referred to the raised ticket prices as " problematic ," with some comparing Ticketmaster to touts.

"As anticipated, millions of fans accessed our site and were placed in a queue, which moved along as they bought tickets,”a Ticketmaster spokesperson told TIME in an email. “We always advise fans to hold their place in line, make sure they're only using one tab, clear cookies, and ensure they aren't using any VPN software on their device.”
They added: “To clarify, Ticketmaster does not set ticket prices.” On its website, Ticketmaster states: “Promoters and artists set ticket prices. Prices can be either fixed or market-based. Market-based tickets are labeled as ‘Platinum’ or ‘In Demand.’”
This is not the first time Ticketmaster has been at the heart of controversy over their ticket system. During the sale for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the company came under fire after fans waited in a queue for hours during pre-sale, just for the website to glitch at the last moment, with Ticketmaster eventually canceling the general sale.
Are Oasis adding extra shows to the 2025 U.K. and Ireland tour?
Due to the difficulties and demand for tickets, many fans are calling for Oasis to add more tour dates for their now-sold out 2025 tour in the U.K. and Ireland.
Calls for more dates come after Oasis already added an additional three extra shows in the U.K. ahead of the tickets going on sale.
It is not yet known if Oasis will be adding further additional dates in light of the continued public demand.
TIME has reached out to Oasis’ representatives for comment.

2024 Tour Championship TV schedule, where to watch FedEx Cup Playoffs coverage, live stream, channel, radio
The final event of the 2024 pga tour season concludes sunday at a newly restored east lake golf club.
For the third straight season, Scottie Scheffler entered the Tour Championship with an inside track to win the FedEx Cup crown. For the first time, he pushed his lead ahead substantially after 18 holes and maintained it through three rounds at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele were hot on Scheffler's tail entering the weekend, though now it is only Morikawa in striking position as the final 18 holes begin Sunday.
With a newly restored East Lake Golf Club and a hungry chasing pack nipping at his heels, the season-long race will not be handed to Scheffler, who dropped a six-shot lead over the fourth round at this event in 2022 to lose to Rory McIlroy. Morikawa stands five shots behind Scheffler with the former looking for his first victory of the season while the latter attempts to round out an all-time campaign that already includes a green jacket and Olympic gold medal.
Schauffele, with two major wins this season, St. Jude Championship winner Hideki Matsuyama and BMW Championship winner Keegan Bradley rounded out those closest to Scheffler as the tournament began, though it has been Morikawa that made up the most ground over the first 54 holes. McIlroy, Sahith Theegala, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns and Adam Scott are all others chasing money on Sunday. However, none are within striking distance of the No. 1 golfer in the world.
Check out Tour Championship live leaderboard coverage as the final round heats up a complete breakdown of the Tour Championship purse with prize money allotments for the top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings.

And, if you’ve never seen the unique ensemble IRL, Trans-Siberian Orchestra puts on a live show that is truly for everyone.
“The first show we did, back in 1999 in Philadelphia, I looked in the front row when we got out there, and I saw two grandparents in crocheted reindeer-themed sweaters, sitting right next to a big young guy in a Slayer hoodie, so that tells you everything,” TSO member Al Pitrelli told USA Today .
If this sounds like the hard-rocking Yuletide-themed concert of your holiday dreams, tickets are available as od today.
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘The Lost Christmas Eve Tour’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale is Friday, Sept. 13.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra set list
Although this tour promises to focus on “The Lost Christmas Eve,” TSO will likely mix in classics from their other records as well.
For a closer look at what those songs are, here’s what the band played at the last show of their 2023 tour, according to Set List FM .
01.) “The Hourglass” (Savatage cover) 02.) “Mozart/Figaro” 03.) “The Lost Christmas Eve” The Ghosts of Christmas Eve
04.) “Christmas Bells, Carousels & Time” 05.) “O Come All Ye Faithful / O Holy Night” 06.) “Good King Joy” 07.) “Christmas Dreams” 08.) “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)” (Savatage cover) 09.) “Christmas Canon Rock” 10.) “What Child Is This?” (William Chatterton Dix cover) 11.) “Music Box Blues” 12.) “First Snow” 13.) “Promises to Keep” 14.) “This Christmas Day” The Best of TSO

“The Lost Christmas Eve”
Released on Oct. 12, 2004, “The Lost Christmas Eve” tells the story of an overworked businessman who finally makes time for his neglected son over the holiday season.
Made up of 23 tracks, the 74-minute record toys with Christmas music conventions — there’s a bit of jazz, some twinkly piano and soaring guitar solos — to create something wholly original.
If you’ve never listened (or it’s been 20 years since you last gave “TLCE” a spin), we recommend rocking out to “Faith Noel” or “Queen of the Winter Night;” more sensitive souls may appreciate the slower, softer “The Wisdom of Snow” or acoustic “O Come All Ye Faithful.”
Personally, we love the go for broke vocals in “For The Sake of Our Brother” most, but we guarantee each listener will find their own favorite tune. There’s a lot to like here.

Oasis Announces Reunion Tour After 15 Years of Brotherly War
Liam and Noel Gallagher’s 1990s Britpop band will play dates in Britain and Ireland in 2025.
By Ben Sisario
In the list of rock bands considered least likely to bury their hatchets long enough to successfully reunite, the British group Oasis has always been near the very top.
At its peak in the 1990s, Oasis — led by the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher — exemplified the soaring appeal of Britpop, with anthemic hits like “Wonderwall,” “Live Forever” and “Champagne Supernova” that could produce mass singalongs in any pub or arena. In 1994, the group’s debut, “Definitely Maybe,” rocketed to the top of the British pop chart and became a zeitgeist-defining moment for a new wave of English rock.
But the band kept crashing down to earth, largely through the fisticuffs — verbal and physical — of the Gallagher brothers. In 1995, a 14-minute unofficial CD was released of Noel and Liam getting sidetracked during a journalist’s interview to bicker with each other, loudly and ruthlessly if not quite comprehensibly.
The band split up in 2009 — “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” Noel said at the time — and over the years the Gallaghers have continued to lob public insults at each other.
Now they seem to have reconciled sufficiently to announce a comeback tour in summer 2025, which is to include shows throughout Britain and Ireland, including at least four nights at Wembley Stadium in London. The band announced the tour on its website . In a statement, the band said plans were underway for dates on “other continents outside of Europe later next year.”
“The great wait is over,” the statement added: “Come see.”
The announcement was no surprise. Over the weekend, Oasis posted Tuesday’s date on its website and social media accounts, after days of gossip on social media and detailed reporting from anonymous “industry insiders” in the British news media about an imminent tour announcement. Liam Gallagher himself boosted those rumors. When one fan said he was “scared” about the news to come, Liam answered, “Your scared how do you think I feel.” Streams of the band’s catalog spiked in anticipation .
Tickets for the shows go on sale Aug. 31.
In Britain, Oasis was a phenomenon, selling tens of millions of albums and racking up six Brit Awards, and the Gallagher brothers’ antics guaranteed constant coverage in the news media. But the band never scaled the same heights in the United States. Perhaps that was a result of its quintessential Englishness. More likely, it was self-inflicted: In 1994, when the American rock press was buzzing about Oasis, it put on a notoriously debauched performance in Los Angeles and Noel abandoned the group for a few days.
Oasis has never won a Grammy Award. This year it was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the first time but was not inducted .
Since Oasis broke up, Noel has released four albums with his group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Liam has released two with his group Beady Eye, three solo albums and one with John Squire of the Stone Roses.
One question left unanswered: Who will play in the band besides the Gallagher brothers? The announcement made no mention, and a spokeswoman for the group did not respond to a question about the lineup.
This week, Oasis is set to release a 30th-anniversary edition of its debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” including early tracks that the band had long considered lost .

Trail Blazers News: Rip City Remix's 2024-25 Schedule Revealed
Alex kirschenbaum | 14 hours ago.
- Portland Trail Blazers
The NBA has announced its G League schedule this season, via a press statement .
The G League's former Showcase Cup, a 16-game fall run, has been renamed as the league's Tip-Off Tournament, set to start on November 8. Split across four regions, each club is slated to suit up for 14 games.
The Rip City Remix's Tip-Off Tournament run will start off with two road matchups against the newly-rebranded San Diego Clippers, the L.A. Clippers' Oceanside-based G League affiliate, on Friday, November 8 and Sunday, November 10.
The Tip-Off Tournament will be succeeded by an Orlando-based Winter Showcase, slated to run from December 19-22.
The G League's regular season proper will be played between Friday, December 27 and Saturday, March 29. The Western and Eastern Conference will then see the six teams with the best record partake in a G League playoffs. Rip City's regular season will begin in Tempe, Arizona, against the aforementioned Valley Suns.
2023-24 marked the final season for the NBA's G League Ignite developmental club. Though that team has folded, a new club has replaced it, the Phoenix Suns' G League affiliate, the Valley Suns. All 30 teams finally have locked-in affiliate squads. The unaffiliated Mexico City Capitanes are the 31st NBAGL team this year.
Can the Rip City Remix, the Portland Trail Blazers' G League affiliate, improve their 2023-24 run?
Last year, under now-Sacramento Kings assistant coach Jim Moran, the Remix went 18-16 in the regular season (8-8 in the Showcase Cup). The team boasted one of the more prolific offenses in the league. Its 115.2 points per game rate ranked 11th among 31 NBAGL squads. The team's defensive rating, 115.5, also ranked 11th leaguewide.
Following Moran's departure, the Trail Blazers pivoted. Portland looked internally for his replacement, ultimately bringing aboard assistant general manager Sergi Oliva in that head coaching capacity, who is expected to return to his day job upon the conclusion of the G League season in the spring.

For the Trail Blazers, the G League represents a useful resource when it comes to developing young players. Given that Portland's NBA club proper does not project to be particularly good, it seems at least possible that two-way signings Justin Minaya and Bryce McGowens could actually log rotation minutes in close to their 50 maximum-allotted games.
Exhibit 10 training signing Henri Drell is in contention for Portland's third and final two-way slot. If he does not see his deal converted, he'll be cut, and could sign on with the Rip City Remix as an affiliate player.
