Discover the secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour.

With its impressive neo-classical façade, mosaic tiles, stained-glass windows and soaring ceilings, Brisbane’s heritage-listed City Hall is at the heart of our city. Discover the secrets of this magnificent building which has been the setting for many cultural, social and civic events in our city’s history.

Known as the ‘People’s Place’, City Hall was built between 1920 and 1930 at a cost of almost one million pounds. At the time it was the second-largest construction project in Australia, second only to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A highlight is a stunning auditorium, inspired by Rome’s Pantheon, which has hosted rock stars and royalty and is home to the Father Henry Willis & Sons Pipe Organ, made up of nearly 4,400 pipes. This instrument is one of only two of its kind in the world, and the auditorium continues to be integral to events that reflect our creative and connected city.

City Hall is a working civic building and some areas may be unavailable at certain times.

Tour begins in the King George Square foyer on the ground floor of City Hall.

Duration of tour: 45mins Capacity: 7 people Difficulty: This tour is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities. Please note this tour will include staircases.

Brisbane City Hall

Built in the 1920s and conveniently located next to King George Square, Brisbane City Hall is an impressive heritage building that has been the backdrop to many cultural, social and civic events.

It is an ideal setting for hosting events with its sweeping marble staircases, vaulted ceilings, chandeliers and mosaic-tiled floor.

Open seven days a week, visitors can enjoy strolling through the beautifully restored building, relaxing in one of two cafes — the Shingle Inn and the Red Cross Cafe — and visiting the Museum of Brisbane .

The Museum of Brisbane, set within City Hall, exhibits artworks from the City of Brisbane collection. Contemporary exhibitions by some of the city’s leading artists are also on show.

Daily guided tours of City Hall showcase the Main Auditorium, Father Henry Willis Organ and the iconic Clock Tower, making it a perfect place to explore Brisbane’s history.

Brisbane City Hall regularly plays host to a wide variety of free, ticketed and private events and functions, including the popular, free Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts.

City Hall underwent a $215 million restoration for critical repairs and refurbishment between 2010 and 2013, and was reopened on 6 April 2013.

Hello, It’s the Me/We Tour! Todd Rundgren Announces Lengthy 2024 U.S. Trek: How to Get Tickets

by Matt Friedlander January 24, 2024, 3:16 pm

Todd Rundgren has lined an expansive 2024 U.S. trek that he’s dubbed the Me/We Tour. The 38-date road trip will kick off with an April 17 show in Minneapolis and is plotted out through a July 3 concert in Portland, Oregon.

Videos by American Songwriter

According to Todd-Rundgren.com, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be accompanied by a full band that features his longtime bassist Kasim Sulton and drummer Prairie Prince. The group is rounded out by sax player Bobby Strickland, keyboardist Gil Assayas, and guitarist Bruce McDaniel.

Tickets for Rundgren’s Me/We Tour are on sale now via various outlets. You can get your tickets via StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Prior to the U.S. trek, Rundgren will be heading Down Under in February for a trio of concerts in Australia. The shows are scheduled for February 22 in Melbourne, February 23 in Brisbane, and February 24 in Sydney. The eclectic Melbourne-based rock act Sex on Toast will open those gigs.

Rundgren’s most recent concerts were a series of 2023 shows opening for Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates. Rundgren’s most recent studio album, Space Force , was released in October 2022. The collaborative project featured the veteran singer/songwriter teaming up with such artists as Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, Adrian Belew, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Crowded House’s Neil Finn, The Roots, Sparks, Thomas Dolby, The Lemon Twigs, and Steve Vai.

See the full Me/We Tour routing below. Rundgren fans will not want to pass up on this opportunity to see the “Hello, It’s Me” rocker and his band playing a mix of hits, deep cuts, and select covers at his concerts this year.

Don’t wait – these tickets are likely to go quickly. Head to StubHub now to see if tickets are available to a show near you!
