Any missing or  inaccurate information could cause your passport application to be delayed or  denied. Once finished, send  the form along with the other necessary papers and pay the visa  fee.

Step-4 Schedule an appointment at the Finnish embassy or consulate

After filing your visa  application and supporting papers, you must make an appointment with the Finnish  mission or consulate  in India. There are snow-capped mountains and trees, unspoiled and exotic nature, and the magnificent aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, here like nowhere else! Visit Saimaa, Finland’s largest lake, which is located in the picturesque Lakeland region.. Additionally, Finland’s “Right to Roam” law permits you to pitch a tent wherever you please as long as you don’t disturb any nearby residents or the natural environment.

Kind and amiable people

Finns love their nation and are proud of its culture and natural beauty. They will always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome before briefly describing their way of life.

Beautiful architecture

Finland has stunning architecture that is firmly rooted in the surrounding natural environment. Alvar Aalto, a Finnish architect, has designed a number of breath-takingly stunning structures using only straightforward forms, features, and natural materials.

Fantastic National Parks

Experience Finland’s stunning national parks, which feature rolling river valleys, lovely lakes, forests, mountains, and amazing wildlife. King eagles, grouse, and reindeer can all be seen grazing freely here in Finland. Visit Nuuksio or Oulanka National Parks, which are ideal for those who want to experience wilderness and wildlife.

Powdery snow skiing

As you ski on powdery, fine snow down one of Finland’s many challenging mountains, take in the stunning scenery. Kittilä, located in Lapland, provides excellent skiing opportunities. You can go to the Ylvas or Levi ski areas, which both have breathtaking scenery and are a lot of fun.

A destination for shoppers

Textiles, jewellery, furniture, and much more are available at iconic, luxurious, and reasonable prices in Finland’s many charming shops and large shopping malls. With more than 50,000 square metres spread across 10 floors, the Stockmann Department Store in Helsinki is Scandinavia’s largest shopping mall and well worth a visit.

Unique dining experiences

Why not visit one of Finland’s many restaurants or eateries and savour delectable fare from the country’s natural bounty, like chanterelle soup, blueberry pie, or exquisite fresh salmon. Restaurant Juuri in Helsinki is unquestionably a must-visit for those looking for a distinctive dining experience, genuine Finnish cuisine, delectable flavours, and wild herbs.

Finnish sauna

A Finnish sauna is a significant component of Finnish culture and is used for health and relaxation as well as for social and professional gatherings. How about visiting a sauna 40 metres above the ground? The sauna trolley on the Skywheel Ferris wheel at the Helsinki Market Square provides views of Helsinki and the surrounding sea.

Top Place to Visit Finland

Since Helsinki was constructed in 1812 in the same architectural style as St. Petersburg, it is the most visited location in Finland. Numerous churches, such as the Lutheran Cathedral, Church in the Rock, and Uspenski Cathedral, are located there. The Parliament House’s art deco architecture and the stadium where the 1952 Olympics were held are both worthwhile stops. Helsinki is home to a large number of top-notch museums and art galleries, including the National Museum of Finland, which chronicles Finnish history through the ages.

The capital of Finnish Lapland, Rovaniemi, was completely destroyed at the end of World War II. The Santa Claus Post Office, Santa Claus Village, and the underground amusement park with a Santa theme are just a few of the attractions that call it home. The Pilke Science Centre, the Jätkänkynttilä Bridge, and the Korundi House of Culture are a few non-Christmas attractions.

Small city Savonlinna is located in the centre of Finnish Lakeland. Olavinlinna, or St. Olaf’s Castle, a 15th-century structure, is the area’s main draw. The Orthodox Museum, the Savonlinna Provincial Museum, and Kerimäki, the largest wooden church in the world, are additional points of interest. Visitors can purchase muikku, a traditional herring dish, from nearby vendors in the market square.

Porvoo, the second-oldest town in Finland, is well-known for its distinctive and picturesque wooden homes. Even though the majority of the wooden architecture in Old Porvoo, also known to locals as Vanha Porvoo, was built at the end of the 19th century, you can still see landmarks from the 13th century as you stroll through its cobblestone streets. Other fantastic activities in Porvoo include visiting the 11th-century Porvoo Cathedral, learning about the area’s art and history at the Porvoo Museum, and indulging in mouthwatering regional pastries and candies at the city landmark Brunberg shop.

It is a city along the southern Finnish coast, is thought to be the oldest in the country and was Finland’s capital for much of the 19th century. Turku is still a popular travel destination in Finland, and it is the location of numerous historical attractions and cultural landmarks, despite Helsinki having long since replaced it as the country’s capital. The 13th-century Turku Castle, the twin museums Aboa Vetus and Ars Nova, and the area of Luostarinmäki, one of the few with architecture that survived the city’s fire in the early 19th century, are just a few of the top sights to see in Turku.

 Finnish Lakeland

The area of Finland known as the Finnish Lakeland is one where there are many lakes, as the name implies. Here, lakes with a minimum width of 200 metres (660 feet) number about 55,000! The region is located in central and eastern Finland and is bordered by both the Russian border and the magnificent Salpausselkä Ridges. Lake Saimaa is the largest lake in the area; you can swim, boat, or just hike the lake’s perimeter and take in the scenery. You can also visit the mediaeval St. Olaf’s Castle and the university town of Jyväskylä while in Finnish Lakeland.

In terms of industry, Kemi, a city in Finnish Lapland, is best known for its pulp mills. However, Kemi is best known to tourists as the site of the recognisable snow castle. The castle, which can be three stories tall and is used for weddings and live musical performances, is built every year. If they so choose, visitors can even spend the night in the snow hotel! The arctic icebreaker tour departs from Kemi and winds through the arctic waters in search of breathtaking icebergs and amazing views. Kemi also has a thriving nightlife scene.

Aland Archipelago

In the middle of the Baltic Sea, in Finland, is a group of islands known as the Aland Archipelago. With attractions like the Pommern, the Aland Maritime Museum, Kastelholm Castle, and hiking trails, ferries shuttle tourists between the islands. The cuisine of the archipelago is best known for its dessert pancake, which is served with whipped cream and stewed plums on top.

Finland’s third-largest city, Tampere, has a smaller city vibe than its larger counterparts, more like a collection of neighbourhoods. Visit the Vapriikki museum complex to gain an understanding of its history and heritage. Hockey and skiing are popular outdoor sports, but those who aren’t as athletic can take a stroll through parks like Duck Park or the Hatanpää Arboretum. A children’s zoo, aquarium, planetarium, art gallery, and observation tower with stunning views of the surrounding forests and lakes are all part of the well-liked Särkänniemi Adventure Park, which is situated on the outskirts of the city.

Finland is a nature lover’s paradise with its vast expanse of undeveloped land. The winter resort of Levi is unquestionably a top choice for fun for outdoor enthusiasts. Levi, which is in Finnish Lapland, has miles of ski and snowboarding trails. There are also opportunities for more unusual pursuits like ice fishing excursions, reindeer safaris, and lounging in expansive outdoor saunas. Don’t leave Levi until you’ve checked out the bars, lounges, and clubs in Central Levi because the nightlife here is a big draw for Finns.
