Visita al Estadio
Recorrido guiado por zonas únicas e indescriptibles. Podrás estar en lugares inimaginables de nuestras instalaciones. ¿Te has imaginado alguna vez haciendo de entrenador?

Kids loved the tour
The Barca tour wasn’t running last week due to the start of the stadium development, so we took our football-mad kids here instead. It surpassed our expectations; the guide was informative and spoke passionately about the club, answering all questions that came his way. The stadium and facilities are hugely impressive and well worth a visit for the reasonable tour fee.
Ollie C, Tripadvisor
Informative and relaxed tour
I recently went on this tour after seeing Espanyol play last season when I became a fan. The tour guide was really friendly and informative, and I learned some things about the history of Espanyol that I had never known before. Overall, I enjoyed my time on the tour and loved being able to walk around the stadium; it was very relaxed and didn’t seem rushed at all. We were allowed as much as possible to take photos of the different areas of the stadium.

RCDE Stadium
Club: RCD Espanyol | Opening: 2009 | Capacity: 40,500 seats
History and description
RCDE Stadium, previously known as Estadi Cornellà-El Prat and Power8 Stadium, replaced Espanyol’s old Estadi de Sarrià , which the club left in 1997. Espanyol first moved to Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium, Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, but always preferred a proper own home.
Espanyol presented concrete plans for the new stadium in 2002, a first stone was laid in 2003, and construction began late 2005. Construction is estimated to have cost about €75 million.
Estadi Cornellà-El Prat officially opened on 2 August 2009 with a friendly match between Espanyol and Liverpool (3-0). It got renamed to Power8 Stadium in 2014 following a sponsorship deal, which ended in 2016, after which it got renamed RCDE Stadium.
How to get to RCDE Stadium
RCDE Stadium is located on the south-western edge of the city of Barcelona in the suburb of Cornellà de Llobregat, almost 10 kilometres from Barcelona’s city centre.
Metro station Cornellà Centre lies a 15-minute walk away from the stadium. It is the last stop on line 5 which passes just north of Barcelona’s historic centre, and also stops near the Sagrada Familia.
Tram 1 and 2 stop at a similar distance from the stadium. They may be useful if coming from the area around Camp Nou (Avenida Diagonal). Get off at stop Cornellà Centre or Les Aïgues.
The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, a type of commuter trains, can bring you somewhat closer to the stadium. Station Cornellá Riera is just a 5-minute walk away from the stadium. Multiple trains, for example the L8, leave from Plaza España, about 2 kilometres west from the historic centre.
RCDE Stadium lies near a crossroads of motorways. If coming from the A-2/B-10 east, exit at L’Hospitatelet/Cornella, which will bring you almost straight to the stadium.
If coming from the Ronda da Dalt, first get on the E-90/A-2, and then take the exit for L’Hospitatelet/Cornella.
If coming from the A-2 west, take exit 607 toward Cornellà de Llobregat. At the first roundabout turn right into the Avinguda Baix Llobregat.
Address: Av. Baix Llobregat 100, 08940 Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona)
Eat, drink, and sleep near RCDE Stadium
RCDE Stadium is situated on the edge of Barcelona in a quiet suburb, and there are therefore few eating and drinking options around. While you will likely find a place to eat in the centre of Cornellà, a 10-minute walk north of the stadium, it may make more sense to stick to the city centre.
The same is true if it comes to hotels. If you spend at least a day in Barcelona, it will be more convenient to stay closer to Barcelona’s centre. However, if you are there just for the match or arrive by car, then there are a few hotels close to RCDE Stadium. Hotel Campanile Barcelona Sud is a 5 to 10-minute walk from the stadium, gets good review, and is reasonably priced. Novotel Cornellà is somewhat further away, but still at walking distance.
Click here for an overview of hotels near RCDE Stadium. If you choose to stay closer to Barcelona’s city centre, the area around Plaça d’Espanya may be a good option. There are many hotels there, and it is where you can catch a quick train to the stadium. Otherwise, there are many options in Barcelona’s historic centre as well.
Espanyol Tickets
Tickets for RCD Espanyol games can be bought online , by phone +34 932 927 700, or at the ticket windows at the stadium on the day of the match.
Espanyol sell out very few matches, and even the home fixtures against Barcelona and Madrid are no guaranteed sell-out.
Ticket prices depend on the opponent. For a typical match expect to pay from €25.00 to €30.00 for a seat in one of the corners to €60.00 to €75.00 for a lower-tier seat at the main stand. Prices will be further increased for a number of high-profile matches.
You can find a seating plan here . For more information email [email protected] .

Stage Front Stadium: Espanyol
JT Curses [ CC BY-SA 4.0 ], via Wikimedia Commons
Real Club Deportivo Español, or Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona in Catalan, is a football club based in the Spanish city of Barcelona. The club spent the majority of its existence playing its games at the Estadi de Sarrià, moving briefly to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys before making the RCDE Stadium its home. Sometimes called the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat owing to its location in the Barcelona suburb of Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat, building work began in 2003 and it opened six years later.
As a football club, Espanyol have always suffered in the shadow of their more famous neighbour. The Periquitos haven’t had even an inkling of the success of Barcelona, yet they’ve achieved enough over the years to maintain the interest of their fervent support base. Something else of note when it comes to the Catalan club is that they have numerous associate sports clubs that take their name. As well as the men’s football team there is also a basketball team and women’s equivalent of both. On top of that the men also play hockey and baseball, whilst the women have a volleyball team.

Stage Front Stadium Seating Plan and Where to Sit
From the outside Stage Front Stadium looks very English in its set-up. Once you get inside, however, it’s far more European in its layout, with a bowl of continuous seating that stretches right the way around the venue. The Gol Prat Stand is behind the Northern goal and is opposite the Gol Cornella Stand. As with the rest of the stadium, both stands have to tiers. Along the two sides of the pitch are the Tribuna and the Tribuna Presidencial, the latter of which is the ‘main’ stand in the stadium. There are roofs over every stand that have solar panels on them.
Espanyol Ticket Prices
As with plenty of other big teams across Europe, Espanyol tier their tickets according to the opposition. You’ll pay top whack for matches against Real Madrid and Barcelona, slightly less for games against the likes of Malaga, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid and the cheapest tickets tend to be reserved for when teams such as Alaves, Granada and Las Palmas come to town.
You’ll also pay different prices depending on where in the ground you want to sit, so corner tickets will range from €25 for tier three games to €90 for tier one. €25 is the lowest you’ll pay for any match, but there are prices that will suit pretty much any budget as long as you’re not too fussy where you sit and which team you watch Espanyol go up against. As an example, tickets above the player’s tunnel for tier one matches will set you back €160.
How To Get Espanyol Tickets
The club’s official website is a good place to start, as is their telephone booking line. They have numerous partners you can buy tickets through, though, such as ticketmaster, the Ticket Bureau, Turismo de Barcelona and more.

About Espanyol
Espanyol was formed as a football club in 1900. To suggest that they have existed in the shadow of Barcelona is something of an understatement, with the origins of the club coming from an entirely Spanish background; that’s in direct opposition to the multi-cultural nature of Barcelona. Even so, the success has long favoured Barca, as Espanyol have finished above them in La Liga just three times in around seventy years. The two sides appeared together in a Copa del Rey final in 1957, which Barcelona won. It came just six years after Espanyol’s biggest ever victory against their rivals – a 6-0 win in 1951.
Back to the club’s origins, they were formed as Sociedad Española de Football, later becoming Club Español de Fútbol. Another change of name came about in 1910 when they became Club Deportivo Español. They were granted royal status in 1912, becoming Real Club Deportivo Español. When King Alfonso XIII abdicated in 1931 they switched to Club Esportiu Espanyol, remaining that way until 1995 when they chose to use the Catalanised version of the name, Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona. Though they have never won La Liga, they have won the Copa del Rey four times and have twice appeared in the UEFA Cup final; once in 1988 and then again in 2007.
Stage Front Stadium History
For the first 23 years of the club’s existence they played their games at various locations around Barcelona, not narrowing down their home until 1923 when they moved to Estadi de Sarrià in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. They spent twelve years at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, arriving in 1997 and leaving in 2009. That was the point at which they moved to what is now known as RCDE Stadium. When it opened it was called Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, named after the two different areas of the city that it was built between. In July 2014 it took on the name of the Power8 Stadium due to sponsorship, but that was ended in January of 2016.
It is very much a state-of-the-art stadium, winning a Stadium Business Award in 2010. It took six years to build and cost €65 million to complete, with an opening match taking place between Espanyol and Liverpool on the second of August, 2009. The scorer of the first ever goal in the ground was Luis Garcia, helping the home side to a 3-0 win against a team he has previously won the Champions League with. Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.
I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.
Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.
This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.
That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).
This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, commonly referred to as Espanyol, is a Spanish professional football club in Barcelona, Spain. The club competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football.
RCD Espanyol Youth Development System
Espanyol has several youth academy teams in their youth development system. These teams include:
- RCD Espanyol B
RCD Espanyol Soccer School
The School offers the possibility, for many boys and girls, to start practicing this sport and also to improve their soccer skills and abilities, being a mixed training School with internal competition and teaching the values of our Basic Football, such as unity, perseverance, humility, passion, ambition, respect, trust or commitment.
Belonging to the school does not exclude other football commitments.
TRAINING AND MATCHES
The players of the School train two hours a week (on a single day or on two different days) and play a match on Saturday mornings. The goalkeepers will do a specific hour of training of the two hours per week.
The competition consists of 7 levels and 42 teams where there are promotions and relegations to enhance the level of the teams, with this type of competition learning is reinforced.
During the year, we guarantee around 21 matches in the Ciutat Esportiva and a confrontation with teams from outside.
The School’s teams are named after RCD Espanyol players and former players.
PREPARATION
The teams are a maximum of 12 players with a qualified coach and we work on the fundamental contents of grassroots football at all ages, where the ball is the protagonist.
We also carry out continuous training of our coaches together with the collaboration of our training football.
This modality is done to improve technical skills in small groups.
This option can be done as a school supplement or for players and powers who are looking for a superior supplement to their training.
When the activity of the RCDE School stops for the holidays, we give way to the Summer Campus and the Christmas and Holy Week training.
RCD Espanyol Summer Camps
The RCDE Escola Dani Jarque organizes its own campus every summer with the aim that, for one, two or three weeks, the player has the experience of playing in the context of RCD Espanyol in Barcelona. The training football coaches will work on the same knowledge and identity that they work on during the season, but this time in a more intense way.
During one day they will do two training sessions and other activities such as swimming pool, board games, video sessions, etc.
Learn, evolve and have fun with the Campuses organized by the club.

RCD Espanyol History
On October 28, 1900, ngel Rodrguez Ruiz (1879–1959), a student of engineering at the University of Barcelona, established the club that would later be known as Espanyol. The original location of the club was in the prosperous neighborhood of Sarrià. Espanyol was the first club in Spain to be created solely by Spanish fans of the game; the other early clubs had links to Britain or central Europe. The club’s name derives from the Catalan word for “eagle.”
When the club first started out, all of the players wore bright yellow jerseys, but it was up to them to decide what color shorts they wanted to wear. It just so happened that a friend of the person who started the club ran a textile company and had an abundance of yellow cloth that was leftover from a job. In 1910, the club changed its name to the Club Deportivo Espaol and selected blue and white stripes as the colors for the club’s shirts as well as the primary colors for the club’s insignia. Because they were the colors that appeared on the shield of the renowned Sicilian-Aragonese Admiral Roger de Lluria, who sailed the Mediterranean protecting the interests of the Crown of Aragon in the Middle Ages, blue and white were chosen as the colors of the flag of the Kingdom of Aragon. The club was successful right from the start, as evidenced by its victory in the very first Campionat de Catalunya in 1903 and subsequent participation in the very first Copa del Rey that same year.
1906 was the year when the Spanish Football Club was forced to halt its operations due to a lack of players. This was due to the fact that the majority of its players were university students who had left Catalonia to attend universities in other regions. X Sporting Club took advantage of this by recruiting the majority of the remaining Espa’ol players, which resulted in a significant improvement in the club’s overall level of play. As a direct consequence of this improvement, the X went on to win the Catalan championship three years in a row between 1905 and 1908, defeating teams such as FC Internacional and FC Barcelona along the way. The likes of Pedro Gibert, José Irzar, and Santiago Massana were on this historic side. When several of the former university students returned to Barcelona in 1909, they brought with them the idea of refounding Club Espaol de Football. They were successful in this endeavor on December 27, 1908, when X merged with the Spanish Jiu-Jitsu Club. It was not until 1909 that X and Espaol were restructured again.
They were victorious in the Campionat de Catalunya three times during the decade of the 1910s: in 1911–12, 1914–15, and 1917–18. Their success in the later years was largely attributable to their backline, which was led by Ricardo Zamora. Additionally, they competed in the final of the Copa del Rey on two separate occasions, in 1911 and 1915, however both times they were defeated by Athletic Bilbao.
The reserve squad for Espanyol, known as Espanyol B, was established in 1994. They are currently competing in the Segunda División B.
In the year 1986, Javier Clemente was given the job. During his first year with the club, he guided them to a joint-best third place finish, which earned them a berth in the UEFA Cup. They advanced to the championship match by virtue of victories over Borussia Monchengladbach, A.C. Milan, Inter Milan, TJ Vitkovice, and Club Brugge KV; however, they were ultimately defeated by Bayer 04 Leverkusen via penalty kicks following a 3–3 aggregate score. The team was demoted twice after that, although it played in La Liga continuously from the time it won the Segunda División in 1993–1994 until it was relegated at the end of the COVID pandemic impacted season in 2019–20.
Juli Pardo served as president of the club from 1989 until 1993, during which time he managed its transition into a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva.
As a result of the growing amount of debt, the club was compelled to sell the Sarrià Stadium, which was eventually torn down in the year 1997.
Espanyol, led by Paco Flores, defeated Atletico Madrid 2–1 in the Copa del Rey Final in 2000, which was the club’s first cup title since 1940. The match took place at Mestalla.
Six years later, the team triumphed again under the leadership of Miguel ngel Lotina. This time, they defeated Real Zaragoza in Madrid by a score of 4–1, with goals coming from Ra’l Tamudo, Luis Garc’a (two), and Coro.
The victory in this cup allowed Espanyol to compete in the UEFA Cup. They advanced to the championship match by cruising through their group with a perfect record, then beating Livorno, Maccabi Haifa, Benfica, and Werder Bremen along the way. After a 2–2 draw in the regulation game, the championship match was decided by a shootout, in which Sevilla defeated Espanyol 3–1 to claim the title. The championship match took place on May 16 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. They earned the distinction of being the only side in the history of the UEFA Cup to go undefeated throughout the competition but come away empty-handed. In that particular campaign of the UEFA Cup, Walter Pandiani, who would be leaving the club at the end of the season, amassed the most goals of any player. Tamudo surpassed Rafael Maraón’s record of 111 goals scored for Espanyol on June 9, 2007, to become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. He finished the night with 113 goals to his name.
The final game that Espanyol played in the Estadio Olmpico de Montjuic was on May 31, 2009, and it was a three-nil victory over Málaga. After relocating from their previous stadium in Sarria to the Estadi Olympic, Espanyol played their home games there. The relocation gave club talisman Ral Tamudo the rare distinction of having played in three separate stadiums during his time with the club: Sarrià, Montjuic, and, beginning with the 2009–10 season, the Cornellà-El Prat.
His first employment in a professional capacity was as manager of a team that was in danger of being relegated when Mauricio Pochettino, a former defender for Espanyol, was appointed in January 2009. In February, he helped the team stay in the top flight with a victory against their rivals Barcelona at the Camp Nou, 2–1. Barcelona, under by Pep Guardiola, went on to win the treble that season.
After 12 seasons playing at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc, Espanyol moved to the Estadi de Cornellá-El Prat. On August 2, 2009, the new stadium had its official opening ceremony with a match between Espanyol and Liverpool. Espanyol came out on top with a 3–0 victory, with Luis Garca scoring the first goal at the venue, followed by a double from Ben Sahar. Daniel Jarque, the captain of Espanyol, suffered a heart arrest and died six days later, at the age of 26, in the neighborhood of Coverciano in Florence, where the team was staying at the time after playing several matches in Italy. Since that time, a one-minute standing ovation is held in his honor before the start of each and every Espanyol game that takes place in the 21st minute (his previous shirt number).
Following Pochettino’s departure in 2012, the club has continued to compete at the highest level despite having a number of different managers at the helm. In January of 2016, Chinese entrepreneur Chen Yansheng purchased 54% of the club, which gave him control of the organization. As a result of Espanyol’s seventh-place performance in the 2018–19 season, the club qualified for the Europa League for the first time since their final appearance in the competition in the 2006–07 campaign. Despite this, the team was demoted to the lower division for the first time since 1994 during the subsequent season, following a loss of 1-0 in Barcelona. On August 3, 2020, the club issued an official statement in which they pleaded with La Liga to postpone the relegation process; nonetheless, this did not prevent the relegation from occurring. On May 8, 2021, following a 0–0 draw against Zaragoza and with four matches remaining in the 42-game season, Espanyol achieved promotion back to La Liga at the first try, being the first team to do so.
RCD Espanyol Stadium
RCDE Stadium, commonly referred to as Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, is a football stadium located on the borders of Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat, in the greater Barcelona urban area. The stadium only has seating for spectators. The construction took place over the course of three years and cost roughly 60 million Euros. It first opened its doors in August of 2009, and on June 18th, 2010, in Dublin, it was recognized as the Venue of the Year at the Stadium Business Awards.
It is the tenth-largest stadium in Spain, with a capacity of 40,000 seats, and the third-largest stadium in Catalonia overall. It replaced RCD Espanyol’s former stadium, the Estadi Olympic Llu’s Companys, and became the club’s new home in the year 2009. It is the eighth stadium that the club has used throughout its existence.

Estadio Cornellà-El Prat is the home of top flight Spanish side RCD Espanyol and eighth stadium in the club’s history. The new stadium built in Catalonia, took around three years to construct with an approximate cost of €90 million and a final capacity of 40,500.
Espanyol Stadium Guide
Rcde stadium history.
Technically known as Estadi RCD Espanyol. the stadium is popularly referred to by fans as Cornella-El Estadio Prat or just Corneprat.
An ambitious project by the club, Estadio El Prat has won several awards for its design and small ecological footprint such as the 2010 Stadium Business Award where it beat the likes of the prestigious Dallas Cowboys Stadium and the O2 Arena in London, formerly the millennium dome.
The construction of the new ground took over 6 years, with the land purchased back in 2002, and the inaugural match being held on August the 9th 2009 where Espanyol beat visitors Liverpool FC in a 3 nil shut out. The wait for fans of the club has definitely been worth it as far as they are concerned having received the highest distinction from UEFA who designated it as a category 4 stadium.
With room for expansion, combined with other European stadiums becoming more environmentally concious themselves, Estadio Prat will certainly prove to be a continued source of pride for fans of the club, with the ground hosting an International friendly between Nigeria and Catalonia on January 2nd 2013.
The ground is easily the most modern in the city of Barcelona, with the rival football team currently exploring the feasibility of renovating the iconic Camp Nou .

Rcde stadium seating plan.
Below is a seating plan of Espanyol's RCDE Stadium:
Stand Photos
El Prat consists of four stands: Gol Prat (North), Tribuna Presidencial (East), Gol Cornella (South) and Tribuna (West).
Click the thumbnails above to enlarge an image of each stand and to read a more detailed description of each part of the Stadium.
Matchday Experience
Rcde stadium away section.
Away fans who make the trip to see their team take on Espanyol in their own backyard are usually confined to a small section of seating within the north-west corner.
Highlighted on the above seating plan by the colour pink, the away section wraps around the access tunnel and is separated from the home supporters by a row of steel fencing either side of it.
Best Pubs near ground
There isn’t an expansive range of eating and drinking options, with the nearby Cornella Shopping Centre offering a few places to drink before the match although not as much as within Barcelona city centre itself.
The map below reveals the locations of some of the more popular pubs.
Food - Places to eat
Food wise you certainly won’t starve as there is a shopping centre attached to the stadium (Did anyone say Burger King?) as well as a handful of restaurants north of Parc de la Ribera such as El Brot de l’All i Oli and restaurante Casa Narvaez which both come served with decent online reviews.
Espanyol Club Shop
RCD Espanyol operate two club shops at the stadium, one within the city centre (Sports City Jarque) and an official online store known as Botiga RCDE Oficial . As the two located at Cornella El Prat are the most popular I’ll only list their opening times.
Opening Times
- Monday to Friday: 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm, and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm
- Saturdays: 11.00 am to 2.00 pm, and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Can you take a stadium Tour?
RCD Espanyol are now opening the doors of Cornellà-El Prat to fans of the Periquitos (Parakeets) with the announcement of 60 minute tours of the new world class facilities.Tours cost €10.00 for adults, and €5.00 for everyone else.
Not available on matchdays, tours are usually bookable Monday to Friday between 12.30 am to 4.30 pm, and on Saturdays between 11.00 am and 12.30 pm.
To book your place on a tour email the club [email protected] , phone 902.666.902 / 93.292.77.00 (Ext. 3018) or purchase tickets at the box office at the RCDE Stadium.
How to buy Espanyol Tickets
To see RCD Espanyol play at home you can buy tickets either online ( [email protected] ), by phone (+34 932 927 700) or at one of the numerous Taquillas (Ticket windows) at the stadium leading up to, and on the day of the football match.
The blue and whites rarely sell out their home fixtures and you may be surprised to learn that even matches against Madrid and rivals Barcelona aren’t guaranteed to sell-out which thankfully works in our favour!
Ticket prices vary depending on who Espanyol are playing but with new facilities and a state of the art stadium, expect to pay a few euros more for the privilege. €30-35.00 for a seat either behind the goal or in the corner is a fair price range, and you’re looking at around €60-70.00 for a seat at the main stand close to the pitch.
How to get to RCDE Stadium
Where is rcde stadium.
Cornellà-El Prat stadium is located on the Western side of the city, although arguably South-West is more of an accurate description as the coastline isn’t strictly South facing.
The address for satnav is as follows:
- Avenue. Baix Llobregat 100, 08940 Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona)
There are an estimated 3,278 official car park spaces at the ground.
Barcelona boasts the second largest airport in Spain (Barcelona-El Prat), and fans of Espanyol will be relived to know that it is much closer to Estadi El Prat (9km) than it is to the Nou Camp (13km). Once you have landed there are numerous ground transport options for you to choose from depending on where your hotel is.
To go direct to Espanyol’s stadium you can catch a L77 bus service or if you need to get to the city centre then you can use the R2 Nord Commuter Train line to take you to Sants Railway station (city centre) and the TMB public bus line 46 which takes you to Plaça d’Espanya, again central.
Hotels Near RCDE Stadium
There are quite a few hotels near Cornella-El Prat such as Ibis Barcelona Cornella and Campanile Barcelona Sud Cornella, and they can almost be justified due to the 10.00 km or so distance from the city centre and proximity to the airport but ultimately as a tourist I suspect you’ll want something in the city centre.
In which case there are too many to choose from so I recommend you do your own research on this one!
