Touringcars zijn de manier om met grotere groepen in luxe en comfort te rijden. In het aanbod zijn verschillende modellen van merken als Neoplan, MAN en Volvo opgenomen. Is er plaats voor meer dan 8 personen en is de touringcar zwaarder dan 3500 kg, dan is een rijbewijs D verplicht.

Wat is het verschil tussen een touringcar en een bus?

Een touringcar wordt vaak vergeleken met een bus. Maar wat is dan nu het verschil tussen die twee?

De term ‘bus’ wordt gebruikt voor voertuigen waarin meer dan 8 mensen worden vervoerd. Een touringcar valt onder een bus, maar is luxer dan een bus en vaak bedoelt voor lange afstandsreizen. Daarnaast zijn veiligheidsgordels verplicht in een touringcar en zie je deze niet in een stadsbus.

Kenmerken touringcar

Het aantal zitplaatsen in een touringcar verschilt dit kan soms oplopen van 15 tot 90 zitplaatsen. Er zijn vaak 4 zitplaatsen op een rij, in vergelijking met 3 bij een stadsbus. Hierdoor is het gangpad van de touringcar smaller dan die van een stadsbus.

Verder heeft een touringcar verstelbare stoelen, bagageruimtes, een toilet, airco en vaak de mogelijkheid om films af te spelen. Soms zijn touringcars ook uitgerust met een koffiezetapparaat of een koelkast. Door de bagageruimte is de touringcar hoger dan een stadsbus, de bagageruimte zit namelijk onder in de touringcar.

Mate van comfort

Hoe comfortabel een touringcar is, wordt in Nederland aangegeven door de termen: Tourbus, Tourist class, Comfort class en Royal Class. Het belangrijkste verschil tussen deze maten van comfort is de afstand tussen de stoelen (achtereenvolgend 70, 75, 85 en 94cm, dit is inclusief de rugleuning) en in hoeverre de stoelen verstelbaar zijn. Ook is dit afhankelijk van dubbele beglazing en extra faciliteiten als toilet en koelkast.

• This ticket includes our three distinct bus routes: Classic Copenhagen, Urban Green Copenhagen, and Colorful Copenhagen. Spanning 30 stops, these routes provide a comprehensive exploration of the city’s most cherished neighborhoods and landmarks, delivering a full Copenhagen experience.
• Available: Daily May–September. Weekends all year round
• Valid: 48h or 72h

Follow the arrows on the map to locate the next bus. The Classic Copenhagen route is marked in red, Urban Green Copenhagen in green, and Colorful Copenhagen in purple. Are the buses covered when it rains?

Our buses have either a regular or sliding roof which is open when the sun shines, but can be closed when it rains.

Can we bring a wheelchair on board?

Due to the design constraints of our buses, we are currently unable to accommodate wheelchair users who cannot transfer to a regular seat. We sincerely apologize for this limitation. If you use a wheelchair that can be folded and you are able to board the bus and sit in a standard seat, either independently or with assistance, we welcome you aboard. Please note that the ability to bring a folded wheelchair onto the bus is subject to the bus driver's discretion, based on available space. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and are actively looking for ways to make our services more accessible to everyone.

Can we bring our dog on the bus?

Yes, dogs are welcome aboard our buses, provided they are small enough to fit comfortably inside a bag and are well-behaved around other passengers. We kindly request that all dogs and their handlers take seats on the top deck. This ensures the comfort and safety of all our guests.

Can we bring a buggy, stroller or pram?

Our buses have limited luggage space that is also designated for wheelchair users. If there is space available, then we will allow a buggy, stroller or pram on board. Buggies, strollers and prams are carried at the discretion of the driver.

Can I pay with foreign currency?

Payments can be made in Euros or American Dollars, but please note that we only accept bills and not coins. Any change provided will be in Danish Kroner.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes, you can pay with credit card or Mobilepay.

When do children pay full price?

Children under 6 years old ride free of charge. Children between the ages of 6 and 15 are eligible for a 50% discount on the adult ticket price. Guests aged 16 and above will be charged the full adult fare.

Do the bus make any stops?

Our three bus routes have a total of 30 stops, and you are welcome to hop on and off as much as you like.

Where do I find information about delayed or cancelled departures?

For up-to-date information on how our services are running, please call +45 3296 3000. You can also follow our buses on our Livemap. We will post updates on our website whenever possible.

Are there toilets on the bus?

We do not have toilet facilities on board our Hop On-Hop Off buses. There are toilet facilities available at stop 3 - The Gefion Fountain and stop 5 - The Little Mermaid.

Can we bring drinks on the bus?

You are welcome to bring your own drinks on our Hop On-Hop Off bus tours.

What should I do if I've lost something on the bus?

Lost items can be recovered at our ticket office at Ved Stranden, or you can fill out our 'Lost & Found' form directly on our website. 

Are there any fire extinguishers on the bus?

Yes, there is a fire extinguisher located in the driver's cab.

Can Movia or Arriva tickets and cards be used on sightseeing buses?

No, tickets and cards from Movia and Arriva cannot be used on our sightseeing buses.

How do I get a receipt?

When you pay for your ticket using cash, a payment card, or a credit card, your ticket will also serve as your receipt. If you are using a voucher, you will need to obtain your receipt directly from the issuer of the voucher.

How many passengers can be on the bus?

Each bus can accommodate up to 74 passengers.

Do you offer bus tours outside the city?

No, at the moment we don't have any bus tours or excursions outside the city.

Can I rent a bus for a private event?

No, it is not possible to rent our buses for private events. You are more than welcome to rent one of our boats for your private event or transportation, read more on our website under 'Rent a boat'.

Do the bus stop at the cruise terminal?

Our Classic Copenhagen route stops at Langelinie Pier (stops 6, 7, and 8). Additionally, we operate shuttle buses to all cruise ships docked at Ocean Quay, which you can board at stop 5 - The Little Mermaid. We service every cruise ship that arrives in Copenhagen.

How do I get back to my cruise ship?

If your cruise ship is at Langelinie Pier, you simply take our Classic Copenhagen tour to stop 6, 7, or 8. If your ship is at Ocean Quay, you must hop off at stop 5 - The Little Mermaid and switch to our shuttle bus, that will take you to your cruise ship.

Will there be shuttle buses if my cruise arrives or departs outside your operating hours?

This is dependent on the day of operation. Please send an email to [email protected] and inform us about the name of the ship, date, and departure time.

Pick up from the cruise terminal Arriving by cruise ship? The buses are not far away! Look for the buses with the Stromma logo!

Cruise terminals

Langeliniekaj This is one of Copenhagen’s main ports for cruise ships. Due to construction in the area our bus stops 6, 7 and 8 are temporarily closed. Please use stop 5 - The Little Mermaid on our Classic Copenhagen route instead. See our Livemap here .

Oceankaj This harbor is located off our regular route and outside the city center. If you purchased your Hop On-Hop Off ticket at the harbor, you can join our shuttle bus transfer to the city center, where you can join the Classic Copenhagen route at bus stop 5 - The Little Mermaid. If you arrived by our shuttle bus, you can also use it for your return to Oceankaj from stop 5 on the same day. This service is included in your Hop On-Hop Off/City Sightseeing ticket. Please ask our staff for more information.

Nordre Toldbod Our Classic Copenhagen route passes approximately 200 meters from this smaller port. You can join the tour at bus stop 4 - The Gefion Fountain. Frequency: every 20-30 min in high season.

Stromma's red and green buses During the tour, you can visit all major attractions and museums at your own pace. Please note that Stromma operates both red and green sightseeing buses - just look for the Stromma logo.

BUS STOP 1 - VED STRANDEN/STRØGET

Gammel Strand This is the oldest harbor in Copenhagen! Many years ago, this area was a popular fish market, where fishermen from nearby villages came to sell their catch. Christiansborg Palace Step into the heart of Danish democracy at Christiansborg Palace, where the Danish Parliament pulsates with political life. While the Prime Minister's Office is off-limits, you can still wander through the historic halls and chambers on a guided tour, feeling the weight of decisions made here. The Royal Stables Visit the royal stables, home of the Royal Family's beautiful white horses since 1740! The Ruins under Christiansborg Palace Underneath the palace lie two ancient ruins. The largest is the curtain wall from Bishop Absalon's castle from the 12th century. This is my first tour experience and I am in no position to compare, but our team Explore Together 23 was exceptional, we easily blended together as one big family, caring for each other where needed. i had a motto of “making our dreams bigger than our memories “ to which I shared with some of our team members. Matt is a historian in his own right, giving us lectures, without notes; on the history of the Country we are about to enter into. His timing on his series was perfectly timed that sets the tone of excitement for us. Another thing worth mentioning is his professionalism and efficiency in dealing with issues that could affect our schedule. But he has also to strike the balance between the time involved in dealing with the issue and the challenge presented to arived at resolving the issue at hand. Pascal, on the other hand; is a Star, very efficient and reliable in his driving skills that puts every body at ease. His music added life to the team, keeping them entertained during the long haul. He is competent in following impromptu directions from our local tour guide, this happened because there was huge demonstrations at Budapest that time that it was required of us to changed routes. He can easily manoeuvre sharp bends and tight spots. Matt and Pascal had a great teamwork. I am convinced they can easily get a 5 ratings each.

What can I say about a last minute trip of a lifetime! We had the best guide, James Smith, and best driver, Paul. They were organised and professional, calm and skilful at dealing with a bunch of strange personalities; witty and insightful, sharing their life experiences with us; advising and guiding us with the history and the memories of home. Even missing my pickup point, I did not panic or worry. I’m sure James was shocked at receiving a call from Australia. Lucky for me, he picked up! Good to have a backup plan. Ireland and Scotland were everything I wished for. I loved all of it- the driving, excursions, free time, sightseeing, foods, local people, ancient and modern history, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Donegal, Londonderry, Ring of Kerry, Giants Causeway, wall of Remembrance, Good Friday Peace agreement. I learnt about habits, customs, whiskey and shortbread, music, culture, accents and people, Celtic and Viking influences, symbolism and the importance of change and structure affecting our lives. Love the quirkiness too - The idea of Guinness offering a pint of beer for your blood donation is hilarious, doing your exams in Gaelga gives you a 20% advantage; museums and most event places have no entry fees. NB - (1) ensure all travellers have contact details, only for emergency use (updated as to country and location). (2) We would have loved to have a photo with our guide and driver. They were an important part of our experience! A Most enjoyable and memorable Trafalgar trip. I loved the little aside-jaunts and I loved the way James and Paul worked at keeping the journey interesting, well paced, stress less and fun. Highly commended!

This tour with Elite Travels was busy - so much to see in so little time. Hotels and food were great. Best part was Damir, our guide for the entire trip. I've taken many tours and he stands out as the best of them all. He was excellent in every way - in giving us clear instructions, telling us what to expect for the day, very patient, answered all out questions, and was very knowledgeable of the places we visited, including their histories. Our driver, Tatiana, was not just an expert driver, but very helpful and kind. Our English speaking local guides were all good, but I would point out Kristina as the best. She had all kinds of surprises for us, including giving me a dance lesson on a local dance and writing my name in cyrilic alphabet. Scars and stories from the war of the 1990s are heartbreaking but I deeply appreciated seeing and hearing them firsthand. Travel must be an educational experience of both the good and bad. So thank you, Elite Travels for a wonderful 10 day journey!

Brussels hop on hop off tourist bus.

Tourist bus is a comfortable way of sightseeing without getting tired from managing the whole tour. It costs €30 for 24 hours and covers most Brussels attractions.

Hop-on Hop-off bus concept

The Brussels hop-on hop-off bus goes around the city and stops at famous attractions. You can get off-board, check out the attraction and continue the route by getting on another bus whenever you feel like it. No group stress or time constraints make this a really pleasurable option.

Many people choose to do the whole circle around city first. To look around and listen to audioguide. And after that, on second circle, they hop off and on to see the attractions.

The Audioguide about what you see on the route is available in English, French and Dutch languages. And you can listen to it through earhones on the bus or your own earphones.

There is also available a special audioguide version for children. Good idea to not have your kids bored.

Online tickets for Brussels Hop-on Hop-off Bus

To reserve your place use the reservation module. After entering your information you will receive an email with tickets. And when you enter the Hop-on Hop-off bus you show your ticket to the driver from a smartphone or printed paper.

You can activate the tickets anytime in 12 months after purchase. The tickets are valid for 24 hours after first activation.
