La tour First

Description

Built at the end of the historic Louvre-Concorde-Arc-de-Triomphe historical axis of Paris, La Défense is the first European business district . From the CNIT to the Grande Arche, from the first towers of the 1960s to the more recent ones such as D2 or Majunga, the area reserves beautiful surprises signed by internationally reputed architects. Even now, renovations, developments, and new buildings allow the area to constantly reinvent itself.

Paris La Défense Arena: A responsible and sustainable DNA

Year of construction: 2020 Architects : IF Architects Area: 51,181 sq.m. Height: 150 m, 38 storeys

Address: 4 place des Saisons - 92400 Courbevoie Nearest parking lot: Saisons Nearest public transport: Esplanade de La Défense

The Alto Tower is located partly in place of the Saisons office building which was demolished in 2016. Delivered in 2020, the tower is connected to the Boulevard Circulaire by a new gently sloping forecourt, renamed Place Zaha Hadid, and linked to Place des Saisons. It thus offers a privileged location and easy access. It is accompanied by the creation of a ground floor retail outlet, Dubble .

With its flared shape, it has a façade covered with 3,800 glass scales, a singularity that harmoniously complements the skyline of Paris La Défense. The tower benefits from two open, protected and planted terraces on the 36th and 37th floors and also from the best environmental certification standards: HQE Exceptional and BREEAM Excellent.

Today, a dozen companies have set up shop in the tower and benefit from its services and terraces: Bureau Véritas (inspection institute), Pandora (jewellery), B2V (social protection), Optimind (risk management), Fujitsu technology solutions (new technologies), etc...

A word about the architect

IF Architects, based in Courbevoie, is a firm that stands out for its knowledge of the area and its multidisciplinary references, both in housing and in commercial and service sector projects. The agency was responsible for the now iconic vase-shaped form of the tower. IF Architects had to take into account the numerous constraints linked in particular to the limited floor space in order to succeed in imagining spacious office spaces by reducing the size of its core.
