The captain was this honestly kind, overly friendly with a royal British accent. The crew were equally friendly. The captain was very artistic in her dialogue, would engage all of us, cracking millions of jokes. A bit of history, the description of animals, birds all made us forget very soon that it was raining. We saw bald eagle, otters, whales, puffins.

We went on this tour as a last minute excursion and had a wonderful day. We saw lots of Sea Otters, Birds and beautiful scenery. Victoria our captain, Jenna, and Lacy did a great job. They were very friendly and took extra care in showing us the wildlife and scenery. The excursion is well worth the price.

We took the day tour to Soldovia with our Captain, Emma (who’s last day was today) and Madeline. They took excellent care of their passengers showing us the scenery and wildlife when out of the blue a whale shows up. We were able to delay heading into Soldovia for a bit to stay around and watch it reappear.

Made the booking the night before for an impromptu fishing adventure. Booking went very smoothly and Captain Dave and the Sizzler did a great job accommodating us and the entire boat limited out. Smooth ride out and back and got to see a breeching whale both ways, puffins, and sea otters as a bonus.

Excellent 1/2 day charter. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They knew everyone by name and made the trip so worthwhile. The seas were calm and everyone caught fish. I would recommend this company to anyone. Easy booking and they are very well organized.

Tour Kauai Your Way

Your time here should be as unique as you are. With a small tour company, I can individualize your tour to match your interests and schedule. I create opportunities for you that no other tour company provides, bringing you intimate connections with the island, the culture, the history and the people of Kauai. 

Small Groups

Kauai Rainbow Tours is focused on small groups, typically 1-4 people, up to a maximum of 7. Tours start and end at your hotel, condo or rental home. Tour times are customized to your needs as well, ranging from 3 to 8 hours, depending on where you want to go and distances between. Refreshments or meals can also be customized: beverages and snacks, a picnic on the beach, local grinds (food), or a fine dining experience.

Advance Planning

Planning your tour in advance allows for greater possibilities and opportunities. In some cases, weather can play a factor in our plans, and flexibility may be necessary to make the most of your time. Also, please advise me of any special needs or mobility issues in advance so that we can plan appropriately for you.

Tour Suggestions

Here is a sampling of some of the places we can go and things you can experience. Your tour is always flexible as we explore the island.

Kauai has 50 miles of white sand beaches, each with its own distinct personalities and characteristics. We can find you a wonderful snorkeling spot and provide a picnic lunch and beverages. Prefer a secluded spot with endless ocean views? How about a morning beach adventure followed by lunch at an island restaurant? Perhaps sink your toes into the sand as you watch the sun set into the Pacific with a glass of wine in hand. Mix or match. We'll set up the perfect beach experience for you.

Canyon & Rain Forest

Take in the extraordinary views of Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” with its dramatic red mountain ranges and stunning waterfalls. Continue onto Kauai’s rainforest at 4,400 foot elevation, culminating in the breathtaking Kalalau Lookout. 

Kauai has a rich culture and history that can be experienced in a multitude of ways, from a tour of Kauai Museum, driving through actual sugar plantation “camps,” taking a peek at a now-defunct sugar mill, strolling through Koloa town, where the first successful sugar plantation was founded, art walks through various towns. Meet with local musicians, as available.

Kauai is nicknamed “The Garden Island” for good reason. Tour nationally-renowned botanical gardens, including one that was architecturally designed and has been the backdrop for many movies. There you can learn the history of plants that were brought by Polynesians by canoe more than a thousand years ago.

Experience Kauai-made products including a chocolate factory, the largest coffee plantation in the United States, iconic Kauai dirt-dyed T-shirts, a microbrewery, gourmet salts, a cookie factory, pie baker and the manufacturer of specialty jams, jellies and other goodies from the lilikoi or passion fruit.

Sightseeing

We’ll take you to popular sights, such as the Waimea Canyon and the Kalalau Lookout, Tunnel of Trees, Menehune Fishpond and Hanalei Bay. Along the way we’ll teach you about island culture and history. We’ll also take you to a few special places known only to island locals.

PRICING & PAYMENTS

Pricing begins at $70 per hour for 1 to 4 people; $100 per hour for 5 to 7 people. 

You'll enjoy the island in the comfort of an all-wheel drive Subaru. We can conveniently pick you up at your accomodations, and drop you off wherever you wish at the end of your tour. Amenities such as a special occasion lei greeting, picnic lunch or beach chairs and towels are are available for an additional fee.

AMAZING DAY!

Don and I had Randy for our day on Kauai. It truly was a fantastic day. Randy met us at our cruise ship, right on time and even had a welcome gift for us. His knowledge of the island is only surpassed by his passion to share information on such a beautiful island. During our reservation process he asked what we were interested in and he delivered. He also had extra stops planned out if we were interested. Even though he kind of had a day planned he made it clear that this was our time and if we wanted to do anything else we were able. If you are heading to Kauai, either for a limited day stop from a cruise ship of you are there for several days please connect with Randy.

RARE & WONDERFUL

We feel so lucky we found randy!! He is a naturally caring person and knows all the great spots on the island. Waimea canyon in late afternoon was incredible. Randy also picked us up at 5am so we could hike up the sleeping giant to watch the sunrise. We also hiked the Kalalau trail to the end camped one night and hiked back. Randy also dropped us off at 6 am. My daughter hiked faster than me so she made it back first. Randy waited with her for me. (Who does that?) Randy is a rock star and we feel lucky to have met him.

Paramore Cut A Beloved Song From Their Eras Tour Setlist

Paramore is on the road again. Over a year after opening the first two nights of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in March 2023, the alt-rock group is back for a longer stint. Paramore recently joined Swift on the European leg of the tour, which will last from May 9 to August 20. Similar to Swift altering her own hours-long set , the band also made some notable tweaks to their setlist. (Warning: If you’re a Riot! stan, this change might sting a bit.)

Shortly after Paramore’s May 9 show in Paris, fans revealed their updated setlist — and this new sweet interaction between members (and new couple) Hayley Williams and Taylor York — on social media. Here are the nine songs they’re performing now as Swift’s opener:

• “Hard Times” (plus “Heart Of Glass”)
• “Burning Down The House”
• “Still Into You”
• “Caught In The Middle”
• “Brick By Boring Brick”
• “The Only Exception”
• “That’s What You Get”
• “Ain’t It Fun”
• “This Is Why”

While this roster has its highs, some fans immediately noticed a disappointing difference. The band removed three iconic tracks from their former set — “Decode,” “Rose-Colored Boy,” and “Misery Business.” Paramore replaced these songs with two new releases, such as their cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” (which appeared on A24’s tribute album for the disbanded group ) and their fresh take on Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass.”

For the last slot, they replaced After Laughter’s “Rose-Colored Boy” with “Caught In The Middle,” another hidden gem from the same album.

It’s a bit surprising to see them put their most well-known single “Misery Business” on the back burner. Then again, Williams has always had a polarizing relationship with that song , which has made and on-and-off appearance during their live shows for years. As for the rest of the setlist, it’s pretty solid; though, there’s so many other riveting hits in their discography that could’ve easily made the cut as well.

Paramore’s appearance on Swift’s tour comes after a month of breakup speculations . Luckily, the group is still a united front, and have showed hints that new music might be on the horizon . Now, that’s an announcement to patiently wait for — even if it takes a while.
