How to Get to Regna Island in Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer

How to Get to Regna Island in Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer

You’re keen on getting to Regna, yeah? Well, you can’t just head over there willy-nilly – you need the green light from the council first… That means you gotta get in with the local factions of Jadame. No nod from the council, no trip to Regna.

Once you’ve got the council’s approval, make your way to Dagger Wound Island – that’s where your journey kicks off… You’ll find a new pirate outpost on a lil’ island down south in the area. Sneak down to the basement & voila, there’s your submarine. This nifty sub will ferry you to Regna & it won’t cost you a dime.

Now, before you can submerge:

Necromancer’s Guild Alliance

  • Shadowspire’s where you find the Necromancer’s Guild, hanging out on the east mountain… Inside, Sandro will ask you to snatch the Nightshade Brazier from Murmurwoods’ Temple of the Sun.
  • You’ll need cleric Dyson Leland from the guild to pull this off.
  • Get the brazier & report back to Sandro.

Temple of the Sun Alliance

  • In Murmurwoods, Oskar Tyre at the Temple of the Sun will ask you to destroy the Skeleton Transformer at the Necromancer’s Guild -> don’t forget Leland; he’s crucial.
  • Pull the levers in the right order: 1, 3, 2, 5, 4. Lock up & have Leland take down the transformer.
  • Head back to Oskar to let him know you’re done.

Dragon Hunters Alliance

  • In Garrote Gorge, find Charles Quixote at the Dragon Hunters’ Camp… He’s after a Dragon Egg that Zog the Jackal has.
  • The egg’s in a chest in the Barbarian Fortress over in Ravage Roaming.
  • Grab the egg & bring it back to Charles to ally with the Dragon Hunters.

Dragon Alliance

  • While you’re still in Garrote Gorge, head to the Dragon Cave & talk to Deftclaw Redreaver… He’s also after that Dragon Egg.
  • Get the egg from Ravage Roaming’s Barbarian Fortress chest again.
  • Return the egg to Deftclaw to secure an alliance with the Dragons.

Minotaur Alliance

  • In Ravage Roaming, enter the Balthazar Lair via a vent – it’s a soggy situation in there… Work those levers in the correct order: A, B, C, E; G, D; J, C, E, F, D; I, C, then hit the unmarked lever at the bottom to drain the place.
  • Once dry, go to the Minotaur Leader’s House & get him to join your cause.

Council Chamber Visit

  • After getting three factions to sign on, go to Merchant House in Ravenshore & into the Council Chamber… Elgar Fellmoon will be there with a new quest for you.

Pirate Outpost Adventure

  • Back to Dagger Wound Isles, take care of the Pirate Leader at the outpost, grab his key, & use it to access the submarine… That’s your ride to Regna.

@ mm8-guide

Map: Plane Between Planes

** This is only accessible upon completing the Elemental Heartstones questline, and can only be entered via Escaton’s Crystal at the heart of Ravenshore.

  • Marker #1 (Entrance/Exit): A replica of Escaton’s Crystal in Ravenshore. Think of Escaton’s Crystal as a bridge between Ravenshore and this location.
  • Marker #2 (Escaton’s Palace): You must clear this building and solve Escaton’s riddle to access Markers #4 - 6.
  • Marker #3 (A Giant’s Sword): A completely neutral and friendly zone where you can safely rest. None of the NPCs within will interact with you. Only accessible if you possess the flute found in the temple surrounded by Cenaturs in Ravenshore.
  • Marker #4 (Prison of the Lord of Air)
  • Marker #5 (Prison of the Lord of Fire)
  • Marker #6 (Prison of the Lord of Water): The ground in this elemental prison is lava, which will cause significant damage to your party every second. To combat this, either stick to the walls or use a vampire with ‘Levitate’ (Vampire GM skill).
  • Marker #7 (Prison of the Lord of Earth)

Map: Plane of Fire

  • Marker #1 (Entrance/Exit): I’ve often found (in both CD-rom based play and downloaded copies of the game) that the entrance/exit doesn’t respond if you click dead-on. Clicking from an angle, however, does the trick.
  • Marker #2 (Castle of Fire): Contains the Heart of Fire. Play through to the back- mind where you’re walking to stay on the winding path- and jump on the pillar. This will activate the elevator at the entrance.
  • Marker #3 (Trainer): Home of Ember, Grandmaster of Fire Magic.
  • Marker #4 (War Camp): A camp filled with mid-level fire-based monsters that are released as you walk across the floor. Step on a floor trigger to activate a portal to the 2nd floor, filled with treasures.

Map: Plane of Water

  • Marker #1 (Entrance/Exit)
  • Marker #2 (Trainer): Black Current, Grandmaster of Water Magic
  • Marker #3: Heart of Water Location

Map: Ravage Roaming

  • Marker #1 (Small Village)
  • Marker #2 (Smuggler’s Ship)
  • Marker #3 (Balthazar’s Lair): Main city, once cleared out.
  • Marker #4 (Temple of Eep)
  • Marker #5 (Ogre Fortress)
  • Marker #6 (The Crypt of Korbu)
  • Marker #7 (Plane of Water): Do not enter until instructed to do so during the elemental planes quests. You will die.

Map: Garrote Gorge

  • Marker #1 (Main City)
  • Marker #2 (Dragon Hunter Camp): Faction headquarters; Ignoring guard warning and attempting to turn left or right will turn all Dragon Hunters into enemies.
  • Marker #3 (Dragon Cave): Only friendly dragon cave; Ithilgore can be added to party at any point in game. Contains all dragon trainers. Ignoring guard warning and attempting to enter left tunnel will  turn all Dragons into enemies. At end of left tunnel is a trove full of rare items.
  • Marker #5 (Naga Vault)
  • Marker #6 (Auxiliary Dragon Hunter Camp)

Travel Schedule: Caravan

  • To Ravenshore: Monday, Friday
  • To Shadowspire: Tuesday
  • To Alvar: Wednesday
  • To Arena: Sunday

Map: Murmurwoods

  • Marker #2 (Temple of the Sun): A faction hall
  • Marker #3 (Circle of Stones): Click on the stone filled with gray liquid to enter. Inside you will find the Druid Circlet of Power, labeled as a quest item. That is a glitch in the game, as the relevant questline was erased before release. Just ignore it :)
  • Marker #4 (Ancestral Troll Homeland)
  • Marker #5 (Plane of Air): Do not enter until instructed to do so for the elemental keys quests. You will die.

Map: Ironsand Desert

  • Marker #2 (Troll Tomb)
  • Marker #3 (Dragon Cave): Flamdring can be recruited from the back of the cave at any point in the game.

  • Marker #4 (Smuggler’s Den)
  • Marker #5 (Temple of Eep)
  • Marker #6 (Wolf Den)
  • Marker #7 (The Willow Past the Bridge): It is actually a chest that will contain at least one rare item.
  • Marker #8 (The “Oopsie” Hut): Visit this home if you’ve lost a quest item. He will give you previous quest items randomly, so you may need to click a few times.
  • Marker #9 (The Temple): Clicking on the coffin will give you a black flute, used to unlock a zone within Escaton’s Crystal.
  • To Dagger Wound Islands: Tuesday, Thursday
  • To Regna: Sunday (After Regna unlocked)

  • Exploring Moscow for the First Time? A Personal Guide is What You Need!

Johnny and Victor Veir-Voronov at Moscow Kremlin

If you are coming to Moscow on business and need help with local transportation or translation during your stay, if you’ve got a couple of days to spare to do some sightseeing after you are done with all the important stuff, or if you go to Russia to check out all the tourist attractions in the first place, I can offer you the top-level personal driver and guide services for your entire trip’s duration. Since the meeting in Moscow Airport and until the moment you board the plane back home I’ll be your driver, guide and translator all-in-one, helping you find your way around the city and ensuring you’ll get the most out of your stay.

If you want to truly experience Moscow and get to know its rich historical and cultural heritage, take loads of pictures and just have a great time in a new and unfamiliar city, a personal guide is the way to go. It’s great if you have a friend showing you around or if you’re on an organized tour – but not all hidden tourist gems find their way into the generic program, you know. The tour schedule might not suit you, the attractions list might not have all the sights you had in mind, rolling together with a large group of people in a predetermined path might not be your way of spending time – there are plenty of reasons why people choose personal guides. If you are on a business trip, sightseeing might not be a top priority on your list of to-do things. But if there’s some free time left and you are in the mood to spend it discovering the various Moscow’s attractions, feel free to contact me and I’ll make sure you won’t regret it.

Only with a guide you’ll be able to survive the maze of Moscow’s streets

Moscow isn’t exactly the easiest city to find one’s way around if you are a foreign tourist or a businessman. Luckily, you’ve already had your stay planned beforehand by yourself or by other people responsible for that, with all the transportation and guide services arranged for. But what if you’d like to veer off the beaten path a little bit and check out something that’s not on your tour program? If you came by yourself and have no one to take care of meet and greet service in a Moscow airport, you might find yourself a little bit confused and overwhelmed. The language barrier can make things even more complicated if you don’t have someone who can translate with you – not so many people can speak English here, let alone other foreign languages. Feeling stranded in the airport in Moscow and being absolutely confused by the transportation system of the city is definitely not the best way to start your trip, so give a thought to the meet & greet service I can provide you straight from any Moscow international airportcustoms and passport control.

There are five airports in Moscow. Domodedovo airport and Sheremetyevo airport are the two international airports that most foreign visitors will arrive at. These two handle most of the international traffic, so they’re going to be your gateway to the city and the country. The customs procedures and passport control are nothing special; everything’s pretty much as you would expect them to be in any major airport around the globe. First you go through passport control. After you’ve got the stamps, you are free to pick up your luggage. Then it’s time for the customs proceedings. Just be sure to declare all your valuable possessions or large amounts of cash and hold to those papers until the day of departure, as you’ll need them when you depart. The time it takes to pass all the controls may vary depending on how many flights have arrived around that time; generally it takes anything from half an hour to an hour or more if it’s a particularly busy time.

Even locals get lost in Moscow sometimes, being a foreigner doesn’t help the situation

After you are done with all the paperwork, you walk out into the arrivals hall and are basically free to go about your business. If you’re not a first time visitor, can speak Russian or just feel confident exploring and finding your own way around Moscow, you can call a taxi, catch a train or a bus straight out of the airport and get to the city proper. After that, there’s a variety of ways to get where you want – but I’ve got to warn you that sometimes navigating Moscow can be hard even for a local. The public transportation system is fairly complex, the traffic is intense, and, as I said before, the language barrier can really get in your way when you need to find the simplest and quickest route around the city.

In most cases you’ll be much better off with someone who’ll take care of all that stuff for you, leaving your hands and mind free to enjoy the trip. We can arrange the meeting in airport if you provide me your contact and arrival data. Usually, I’d be holding a card with your name in the Moscow airport arrivals hall, standing near an easy-to-spot landmark right close to where you’ll be coming from. Of course, I can also provide you with photos of me so that you’d have an easier time finding me in the crowd. In case of an emergency you can also contact me via the cell phone number I will provide you with. I will wait for you to go through all the paperwork and customs control. Don’t worry if it takes a while, or if your plane is delayed – I’ll still be there to pick you up right after you’re done. It would be great if we could work out a preliminary schedule for your stay in Moscow, but there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from changing anything mid-course. I’m completely open to your suggestions any time during your stay in Moscow – just tell me what you need, and I’ll use all my knowledge and experience to guarantee you’ll have an unforgettably pleasant visit to Moscow.
