Great and genuinely wonderful website that makes a proper vacation plan simple, like it should. All reviews are 5 stars. The only suggestion I have to enhance this fantastic website is to include a mobile application. Even paying for a version without ads wouldn't bother me.

Every traveller should use this!

So much easier & more helpful than a travel agency, given lots of fantastic ideas, and was extremely helpful for planning the trip. Would strongly advise my family and friends to use this!

Great tool for trip planning. Impportantly it's free and automatically tailors travel plans to your preferences and is completely customisable. The integration with skyscanner and booking.com, and other OTA like priceline and expedia makes it very easy to plan the whole trip along with the bookings in one place.

If you’re planning a trip, you might be wondering how to figure out where to go and in what order. Luckily, Google has a free tool that you can use in order to get a better sense of your travel plans. We’ll walk you through how to make a travel itinerary with Google Maps through its My Maps feature. In a few easy steps, you can master an excellent organizational tool that’ll help you plan the best trip possible.

Setting Up Your Map

Step 1 Sign in to My Maps on your web browser.

  • Unfortunately, as of October 2021, Google no longer supports the “My Maps” app on phones. If you’re on mobile, you’ll have to use your phone’s web browser to access the site while on the go. [2] X Research source
  • If you don’t already have a Google account, setting one up is a quick process. A Google account gives you a number of benefits, including a new gmail address. Check out this link to start the set-up process: https://accounts.google.com/signup/v2/webcreateaccount?flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=SignUp

Step 2 Create a new map through the home screen.

  • For instance, your might name your map something like “California Summer Trip 2022,” and you could enter a description like, “Places to see and eat during two-week California road trip.”

Step 4 Search for places to visit on your trip.

  • For example, for a California road trip, you might enter “Golden Gate Bridge” into the search box. My Maps will automatically direct you to its location.

Step 5 Add the locations of any places you want to visit to your map.

  • For instance, if you’ve searched for “Golden Gate Bridge,” there will be a white box that offers some information on the location, and even a rating from other users. Click on the “Add to map” button to send it to your saved locations.

Step 6 Add descriptions to your saved locations.

  • For example, you might fill in the description to the “Golden Gate Bridge” box with something like, “Spend at least 1 hour here—must-see location.”

Step 7 Color-code your locations for convenience.

  • You might consider changing the colors of your pins to match how important each location is to your trip. For example, must-see locations could be red pins, your housing spots could be green pins, and optional places to visit could remain as blue pins.

Creating an Itinerary and Planning Routes

Step 1 Organize your selected places with the “layers” function.

  • For example, you might have a layer titled “Places to see,” one titled “Places to eat,” and one titled “Places to sleep.” You can then put sightseeing destinations, restaurants, and hotels you want to stay at in their respective layers.

Step 2 Plan your travel routes using your Google Map.

  • You can add more than one location to a single route. For example, if you wanted to plot a route from Big Sur to the Golden Gate Bridge, and then to Palo Alto, you can add all three locations to your route layer and create a multi-stop path. [11] X Research source
  • By clicking on the three dots next to the layer with your travel route, then selecting “Step-by-step directions,” My Maps will create a set of directions for your travel. Handy!

Step 3 Use your map to create a daily schedule.

  • For example, by using My Maps, you might notice that seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, walking around San Francisco, and eating at a restaurant in Berkeley are close enough to all be doable in one day, while visiting Big Sur might be better saved for another afternoon. My Maps can help you plan out the most efficient trip possible, so you can enjoy your travels even more.

Step 4 Use the “Share” option to loop your friends in on travel plans.

  • When sharing your map, you can also choose the option that allows others to edit the map as well. With this option selected, your friends can pick places that they’re interested in as well, so you can have them all on the same document. [13] X Research source

Step 5 Print your map for offline use.

  • Although My Maps can’t be viewed offline, you can download an offline map of any areas you’re interested in on your phone. Using the Google Maps app, type in a location into the search bar, tap the name of the location, then navigate to the option “Download offline map.” [15] X Research source

Bad experience at mountain majesty guest house.

At mountain majesty guest house as a family we were scared and had a life threatening experience at this location. Make my trip didn’t help us to find another location and the owner of this property was not ready to accept the reservation. The owner and his wife asked us to leave even after showing thr voucher, they misbehaved and the husband threatens us by banging on our car. My son got scared who is only 12 yrs old. I continuously kept asking make my trip representative to refund our money and we will look for another accommodation. Make my trip denied initially. We left the place and checked in into a local property campground nearby as it was already dark and Nubra valley is not well connected with the city. . I am not sure what happened between the guest house and make my trip, we as a-family were suffered and threatened. Not all bookings were bad, this was exceptional. My request is to make my trip, that we only book through the website to make sure that we are at safe place and we can get help if needed.

It’s utterly fraud and waste of time and money

I have booked my tickets through Make my Trip. And for some reasons I had to cancel and I canceled my tickets it’s been Iover a money I haven't got my refund. I tried to call customer care and it's another waste of time trying to call different nos to reach customer care but still failed to reach them out . Another ticket freshlywe have booked though we haven't got the refund for previous ticket. I have received an email saying that due to sons reasons airlines canceled the tickets and they gave option and it wasn't matching my dates and they said they will refund full amount to make my peril because I booked my tickets through Make my trip App. I have spent hours to reach Custoner care and no luck. And I have received an email next day from Make my trip saying that your trip completed I hope you had a wonderful flight. How funny it is. ? 😡😡I want my money back for two tickets nearly 20,000 rupees . I don’t know how to reach them out. I have tried at least 100 times. We don’t live in India. I have tried to reach different ways but I can’t . Can anyone help me ? I would never ever suggest anyone to book make my trip also I would never book through my my trip app. It’s fraud

Developer Response ,

Hi, we regret any inconvenience caused. However, we would love to strictly look into the matter and resolve it for you. Please share your travel booking experience with us and let our team take care of this. You can reach out to us at https://applinks.makemytrip.com/iI912565wyb

When it works....

Makemytrip has a decent website that usually works just fine. The problem is that they make it nearly impossible to talk with a customer service representative. Searching the web for a customer service number gives few results and when you do find a number it takes you to a prerecorded message and doesn’t let you talk to a real person. The options, “press 1 for this” or “press 2 for that” are very specific and do not allow for out of the ordinary issues. The service directs you to their website which is also not at all useful for solving problems that do not fit their predefined categories. It looks like I will be moving to a different online travel agency like Yatra or Goibibo or something. Really frustrated!

Your coolest summer

make trip in

  • 7 ways to keep your pets cool
  • 28 books for your summer reading list

When you’re facing the draining prospect of redeye flights or multiple layovers, even the smallest acts of self-care take on new importance. These little gifts don’t have to be elaborate or expensive to provide a dash of comfort. They might even fit into your carry-on bag or coat pocket.

In preparation for the hectic summer travel season, we assembled a list of 27 things you can do that promise to improve your mood while you’re away.

Pack better

1. keep a set of toiletries just for travel.

To avoid forgetting a toothbrush and having to brush with your index finger, keep your toiletry bag stocked with its own set of supplies. Replenish it between trips, throwing the products directly into your beauty case, or order the whole kit and caboodle, such as Aesop’ s seven-pack of essentials. Once home, store it away (but don’t unpack).

2. Refresh with essential oils

A drop or two of an essential oil does wonders to revive musty travel clothes or calm your nerves. Try eucalyptus for spa vibes or lavender for a more relaxing aroma, starting at about $5 a bottle .

3. Pack a DIY spa kit

Do you have an extra sheet mask or fancy samples of night cream or foot lotion lying around? Put them in your bag for your next trip, and treat yourself to a DIY spa experience. Bring cozy socks for the full pampering experience.

4. Block out lights with an eye mask

We’ve said it before , and we’ll say it again: Hell is tiny hotel lights you can’t shut off. Save your future self by packing a light-blocking eye mask. We’re partial to models from Manta Sleep . To double down on your fight for total darkness, pack light-blocking stickers for fire alarms, WiFi routers and other blinking pests.

5. Stash fancy salt, spices and hot sauce

It may look tiny, but a little flaky salt goes a long way. Jacobsen Salt Co. sells a perfect container for traveling gourmands for $6. You can add more flavor with Tajin to-go packets, a key chain bottle of Cholula hot sauce , Diaspora Co.'s versatile “Popcorn Masala” or Yellowbird’s handy travel-size hot sauce bottles .

6. Bring a magazine

You scroll on your phone every day, and you need a break. Books are great, but magazines (and, ahem, newspapers) are more mobile: lightweight, as breezy as you require and recyclable when you’re done. If you grab a magazine from a stack at home, you get the added benefit of decluttering.

7. Carry your own utensils

Unlike disposable plastic cutlery, utensils made of such sturdy materials as bamboo, stainless steel or recycled razor blades won’t snap under pressure. (Butter knives are okay with TSA ). In addition to providing a more civilized dining experience, the reusable utensils are eco-friendly. Some cities and countries, such as England, have banned single-use plastic items.

At the airport

8. save up podcasts and audiobooks.

The episode recaps of your favorite show have been piling up. That latest best-selling thriller is burning a hole in your AirPods. Don’t waste them on your daily commute. For road trips , it’s even better to stock up on pods or books that you and your traveling party all enjoy.

9. Buy a baller snack

If the Toblerone bar as long as your arm is calling, it’s your duty to answer. Even if the price of Chex Mix is high, grab a few bags of your favorites off the snack wall at Hudson News. Scout out local bakery outposts if an airport has one, such as Ladurée at Charles de Gaulle in Paris. Vending machines have evolved, with cupcakes and edible cookie dough in Las Vegas and hot ramen at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.

10. Or splurge on an airport meal

Yes, airport food is overpriced . Yes, you could meal prep instead. But it’s ultimately a gift to yourself to let someone else serve and prepare your supper — not a sad Starbucks wrap but an actual sit-down situation where you can relax near-ish your gate. Is it going to be the best Caesar salad of your life? Probably not. But you can increase your odds of making it worth your while if you pick a trusted local brand .

11. Shower in between flights

Found in almost every major international airport lounge, the airport shower offers a sudsy sanctuary from other people.

12. Moisturize at Duty Free

The best part of Duty Free isn’t shopping without tax — it’s the access to free samples of high-end products. Hydrate your skin with the latest moisturizer of the moment, or try on a new personality with a spritz of spicy cologne.

On the plane

13. carry your favorite pillow.

Sleeping on a plane can be a disaster for your neck, but a good pillow can help. Some turn to travel options that fit in your bag, like our beloved Trtl or the Cushion Lab Ergonomic Travel Neck Pillow. Others shun minimalism in favor of maximum comfort and bring a full-sized pillow (sorry, neighbor).

14. Brew your own tea

Stash a variety of fancy tea bags in your wallet or in a travel mug, which a flight attendant or food service employee can fill with hot water. Some airports (see: Istanbul) also provide hot water dispensers. Throw in a few honey sticks or straws for a touch of sweetness.

15. Ditto, for coffee

For various gross reasons , we have been warned against drinking coffee on planes. If you desire a good, clean and immediate cup of coffee, there are lots of caffeinators to choose from: frozen capsules by Commeter , gourmet instant coffee from Verve Coffee Roasters or the self-sufficient AeroPress Go , which comes with its own mug and menu of coffee drinks. Prep your coffee in the airport, to avoid the dubious hot water onboard.

16. Carry a cocktail kit

A commercial flight could never stand in for your favorite cocktail bar, but an in-flight cocktail kit can bring you a step closer. There are just-add-booze iterations for many tastes, whether you’re looking for a dirty martini or a Mai Tai .

17. Put on noise-canceling headphones

One of our staff got Sennheiser over-ear headphones for a birthday this year and he wore them on a flight to Florida. Afterward, they learned from their spouse that the 8-year-old sitting behind them had been loudly arguing with his brother the whole flight. They didn’t hear a thing.

18. Rest your feet in a sling

For less than $30, you can turn your ho-hum seat into something more akin to a hammock. The “ Airplane Footrest ” connects to your tray table to create a sling to rest your feet. It helps eliminate the rumbling of the plane floor vibrations, relieving back tension and soothing your entire body — a win-win-win for a long haul.

19. Wear compression socks

Compression socks are a lifesaver on a long-distance flight. One of Amazon’s top-sellers, a moisture-wicking pair from “Physix Gear Sport” ($16), helps reduce swelling and improve blood circulation during sedentary stretches at high altitude.

20. Spritz your face with mist

Face mists — like these travel-size tins from Evian , or this antibacterial one from Tower 28 — are a flight attendant favorite that deliver an instant dose of freshness. Just make sure not to dampen your neighbors.

At the hotel

21. step into your own slippers.

If you have space in your luggage, bring your plush house pair. For a more portable option, consider spa-style slip-ons or thick socks with antiskid soles, like the ones made by Bombas . Your feet will feel toasty and hermetically sealed.

22. Order room service

You could go out, but you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re feeling a little lazy — and a lot hungry. Now is the time to indulge in the convenient luxury of a cheeseburger clad in a cloche.

23. Pay for a hotel movie

Room service and a movie are a perfect duo. There’s an underappreciated comfort in watching a movie from a bed that isn’t your own. Perhaps best enjoyed on a premium channel, while wearing a robe and basking on a bed with extra-fluffy pillows.

24. Or stream your own shows

To keep up with your binge watches, bring your Roku, Fire TV Stick or other streaming device along. Then there’s no need to re-log into apps on another device in an Airbnb or hotel.

25. Give yourself a mini massage

If a full-on massage isn’t in your budget for every trip, you can still work out the knots with a portable massage gun like a Hyperice Hypersphere ($149), the Hypervolt Go 2 ($129) or a Theragun mini ($169).

26. Turn on a white noise machine

Annoying hotel noises are right up there with annoying little lights. The icemaker down the hall, the kids thwarting bedtime next-door and the industrial air conditioner can all keep good sleep at bay. Combat them all with a mini white noise machine. This one is small enough to fit in your pocket but powerful enough to tune out toddlers and traffic.

27. Aromatize your pillow

Signal to your body that it’s time to snooze by applying aromatherapy to your pillow. There are endless options out there, from the budget-friendly Dr. Teal’s lavender sleep spray ($8) to higher-end ones like Jo Malone’s Moonlit Camomile Pillow Mist ($50).

Four Great Drives You Should Take In The UK And The Cars You Should Make The Trip In

Y ou don't need to devise a trip to Germany's autobahn for a turn in a supercar, nor do you have to be made of money to get your thrills. The UK is stacked top-to-toe with exceptional motoring routes for experiencing views as well as torque, plus for enthusiasts, the birth of a variety of temporary hire services specialising in luxury cars has given rise to better and better road trips. So grab a girlfriend, pack a capsule wardrobe, and get out into the hills.

Premium on-demand rental services like THE OUT and Starr Luxury are here to make sure you're humming through the rolling hills in style as well as comfort. If you're quick off the draw, you'll be able to take advantage of THE OUT's limited edition Individual Collection - a curated fleet of bespoke cars from Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, including the Jaguar F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition with a 1960s-inspired SV Bespoke specification and the super high-tech Range Rover Sport SVR. Starr Luxury, meanwhile, will service you with performance cars like Aston Martin's Vantage and DB11, a Lamborghini Aventador or a Mercedes AMG.

Now that you have your car sorted, here are four fantastic UK routes to attempt for your next adventure:

Yorkshire Dales

This route includes the famous Buttertubs Pass , described by Jeremy Clarkson as 'England's only truly spectacular road.'

Begin your adventure at Wensleydale Creamery for a spot of its famed cheese, before joining the A684 towards Buttertubs Pass, stopping off to enjoy the breath-taking view of Hardraw Force; the highest waterfall in England at 100ft.

After admiring the falls, continue on to the pass itself to and marvel at the rolling greenery of the Yorkshire countryside.

Complete your descent and follow the B6270 towards Reeth, turning onto Arkengarthdale Road and driving alongside the tranquil Arkle Beck stream towards the Charles Bathurst Inn.

Here, the 'mirror menu' is changed regularly to reflect the seasons, and offers well-deserved hearty local dishes, such as a delicious beef and ale casserole featuring beef from the nearby Cogden Hall and the locally-brewed Black Sheep ale.

Alternatively, you could head towards the former 18th Century shooting Lodge and similarly Michelin starred dining house, The Yorke Arms , in the charming Nidderdale Valley, where pioneering Head Chef Frances Atkins, who uses locally grown produce to craft her seasonal menu, will have you sampling all sorts of British delights with a continental twist.

The Cotswolds

Extravagant stone manor houses, winding country roads and enchanting rolling hills – there's nowhere quite like the Cotswolds to experience a quintessentially English drive.

Start your adventure in Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, where you can explore the beautifully preserved tea rooms of yesteryear and peaceful river scenery.

From here you can take the B4632, past green pastures, ancient market towns and breath-taking landmarks such as the 65ft Broadway Tower, as you make your way towards Cheltenham.

National Trust property Snowshill Manor and Gardens is well worth a brief detour. Home of infamous treasure-hoarder Charles Wade, you can discover his fascinating story and take a moment to enjoy the the pretty gardens.

A half-hour drive from Cheltenham, the Lords of the Manor hotel is situated in the picture-perfect village of Upper Slaughter. As well as welcoming rooms to rest in, the restaurant has enjoyed Michelin star status for 8 consecutive years. Head Chef, Charles Smith, has a CV that boasts stints working Marcus Wareing, Alyn Williams and Gordon Ramsay. Try the acclaimed Ravioli of Norfolk quail breast, one of many highlights on the seasonally inspired menu.

Just a stones-throw from London, this is the perfect drive for that 'escape' feeling. So if you and your squad are in need of a bit of mindfulness, this is the drive to choose.

Leave behind the traffic and congestion of the M25 and exit at junction 13 near Staines, passing traditional country pubs and ancient landmarks as you follow signs for Old Windsor.

Keep to the A308 and make sure you take time to stop and admire the scenery. Stop at Runnymede Meadow to discover where the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215, take a moment to admire the beautiful banks of the Old Windsor Lock, or pop into the Royal Farms Windsor Shop, near Datchet.

Finish your journey at the nearby Michelin-starred Tudor Room and admire the bright collection of hand-painted artworks and antique sculptures as you enjoy the grill menu or seasonal lunch menu, both made using the freshest ingredients foraged from the kitchen garden.

Wales – Betwsy-y-Coed & Llanrwst

Start at the beautiful Llyn Clywedog reservoir, for a moment of quiet reflection next to the soothing, shimmering waters, before taking the B4518 North towards the A470 – your passage for this magnificent and mountainous driving experience.

As the road bends towards the market town of Dolgellau, you'll see the imposing Cadair Idris. Almost 3,000 feet tall and one of the most popular mountains in Wales, it also acts as a marker point for a stop in the neighbouring village of Llanelltyd, where you can enjoy a for meal at Michelin-starred Bwyty Mawddach .

Here, locally born-and-bred Head Chef, Ifan Dunn – former Welsh Young Chef of the year - expertly combines locally sourced food with the finest Italian methods, all served in a gorgeous sun-soaked barn conversion, rightfully earning its place in the 2018 Michelin Guide.

This break will serve you well for the travels ahead, as you rejoin the A470 and enter the winding, mountain-side roads that Snowdonia is known for. Enjoy the awe-inspiring drops around you – and keep an eye out for over-confident sheep straying into the road.

Keep flowing along this beautiful stretch of road before gently descending down past the tranquil, welcoming town of Betws-y-Coed and on into the peaceful market town Llanrwst.

Disney World trips are magical in their own right, but why not make it the absolute BEST it can be?

make trip in

There are some items we bring to Disney World that make life easier and therefore your trip can be SO much better. We’ve rounded up some of these life-changing items below, and the best part is that you can order them now on Amazon!

Since all of these items are available on Amazon, we highly recommend signing up for Amazon Prime. If you don’t have it yet, get a free trial below!

make trip in

First up, for any trip to the Disney parks, you’re going to need a solid park bag. There are many brands we like, but  Disney Loungefly Backpacks   are one of our favorites!

make trip in

Specifically, this sticker design is so fun and represents so many different characters. However, Loungefly has a ton of options to choose from so find the one that screams YOU!

Shop on Amazon

Now that you have your Loungefly bag, let us introduce you to this gamechanger — the  Mini Backpack Organizer!

make trip in

We tested this out ourselves and it truly made using our Loungefly so much easier. No more digging for what you need — it all stays put in the spot you placed it in!

View on Amazon

Disney World is hot…basically all the time. That’s why  Cooling Towels   like these have become a necessity for so many parkgoers!

make trip in

The set we’ve linked here comes with four towels in different colors so each person in your group can pick their favorite. This can help regulate your body temperature in the intense Florida heat — it’s a must, especially in the summer!

Speaking of keeping cool, do you have a  Neck Fan   yet? If not, you’re missing out!

make trip in

It comes in a variety of colors and can be hands-free, unlike other mini fans. It’s not always ideal if you have long hair that could get caught in the fan, but that’s an easy fix with a hair tie. This thing can run for 16 hours when fully charged!

Spending the entire day in a Disney World park means you’ll probably need to recharge your phone via a portable charger. However, this  Multicharger Extension   makes it even easier to charge multiple devices at once!

make trip in

No more fighting over the portable charger after using Genie+ or placing Mobile Orders all day. This item has spots to plug in four things at a time including phones, MagicBand+, and more.

With an accessory like that, you’re going to need a solid portable charger. We highly recommend ordering a  FuelRod Charger!

make trip in

These have come in handy for us many times in Disney World, and the biggest reason we love it is because of the swap stations. That’s right — at various spots around Disney World, you can swap your juice-less FuelRod for a fully charged one! And the best part is that it’s FREE.

Paper straws. They are great for the environment, but they are NOT everyone’s favorite when it comes to drinking your Disney World beverage. That’s mostly what you’ll find in the parks nowadays, but don’t worry — you can bring your own  Reusable Straws!

make trip in

This set comes with 12 straws, four carrying cases, and two cleaning brushes so this one purchase can cover quite a few people. They are compact so it’s an easy addition to your park bag. No more soggy straws for you!

Riding that same wave, we’ve also brought  Reusable Utensils   to the parks!

make trip in

Sometimes the plastic ones just aren’t ideal and these are nice because you know you are using your own utensils. This order comes with four sets of utensils, each with a carrying case, a spoon, a knife, and a fork. After your meal in the parks, you can wash them in the bathroom real quick and pop them back in your bag. It’s that easy!

Try these items out on your next Disney World trip and let us know what you think. Keep following AllEars for more, and in the meantime, check out more of our favorite Disney essentials at the link below!

Wall Street Analysts Think MakeMyTrip Is a Good Investment: Is It?

make trip in

When deciding whether to buy, sell, or hold a stock, investors often rely on analyst recommendations. Media reports about rating changes by these brokerage-firm-employed (or sell-side) analysts often influence a stock's price, but are they really important?

Let's take a look at what these Wall Street heavyweights have to say about MakeMyTrip (NASDAQ:MMYT) before we discuss the reliability of brokerage recommendations and how to use them to your advantage.

MakeMyTrip currently has an average brokerage recommendation of 1.36, on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by seven brokerage firms. An ABR of 1.36 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy.

Of the seven recommendations that derive the current ABR, five are Strong Buy and one is Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 71.4% and 14.3% of all recommendations.

Brokerage Recommendation Trends for MMYT

Broker Rating Breakdown Chart for MMYT

Do you wonder why? As a result of the vested interest of brokerage firms in a stock they cover, their analysts tend to rate it with a strong positive bias. According to our research, brokerage firms assign five "Strong Buy" recommendations for every "Strong Sell" recommendation.

In other words, their interests aren't always aligned with retail investors, rarely indicating where the price of a stock could actually be heading. Therefore, the best use of this information could be validating your own research or an indicator that has proven to be highly successful in predicting a stock's price movement.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, which classifies stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), is a reliable indicator of a stock's near -term price performance. So, validating the Zacks Rank with ABR could go a long way in making a profitable investment decision.

Zacks Rank Should Not Be Confused With ABR

Although both Zacks Rank and ABR are displayed in a range of 1-5, they are different measures altogether.

Broker recommendations are the sole basis for calculating the ABR, which is typically displayed in decimals (such as 1.28). The Zacks Rank, on the other hand, is a quantitative model designed to harness the power of earnings estimate revisions. It is displayed in whole numbers -- 1 to 5.

Analysts employed by brokerage firms have been and continue to be overly optimistic with their recommendations. Since the ratings issued by these analysts are more favorable than their research would support because of the vested interest of their employers, they mislead investors far more often than they guide.

On the other hand, earnings estimate revisions are at the core of the Zacks Rank. And empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.

In addition, the different Zacks Rank grades are applied proportionately to all stocks for which brokerage analysts provide current-year earnings estimates. In other words, this tool always maintains a balance among its five ranks.

There is also a key difference between the ABR and Zacks Rank when it comes to freshness. When you look at the ABR, it may not be up-to-date. Nonetheless, since brokerage analysts constantly revise their earnings estimates to reflect changing business trends, and their actions get reflected in the Zacks Rank quickly enough, it is always timely in predicting future stock prices.

Is MMYT a Good Investment?

Looking at the earnings estimate revisions for MakeMyTrip, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has increased 0.4% over the past month to $1.62.

Analysts' growing optimism over the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by strong agreement among them in revising EPS estimates higher, could be a legitimate reason for the stock to soar in the near term.

The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) for MakeMyTrip.

Therefore, the Buy-equivalent ABR for MakeMyTrip may serve as a useful guide for investors.

When drivers make that wonderful final payment on a car loan, that milestone is celebrated when they get the title in the mail.

But it’s not always a seamless process and a glitch can mean problems and multiple visits to a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission center to straighten it out.

A new program announced Thursday makes most of that process between the bank, the MVC and vehicle owner take place online, reducing the chance of problems and fraud, commission officials said.

It also sets the stage for allowing titling and registration of privately sold used vehicles to be done online in the future instead of in-person, officials said.

Why go digital?

The new Electronic Lien and Title (ELT) system allows institutions financing vehicles in the state to exchange lien and title information electronically with the motor vehicle commission and eliminate the need for manual processing and maintenance of paper titles.

“ELT now allows the lien to be released electronically without the lending institution or customer needing to resolve the lien status via mailed paperwork, manual transit, or an in-person visit,” said William Connolly, a spokesperson.

Once a driver pays off their vehicle and the lien holder release the lien, a new paper title will be automatically printed and mailed by the commission to the titled owner of the vehicle, he said.

That title also can be mailed to a specified third party by the owner, if the vehicle is being used for a trade-in, he said.

How does it work?

For drivers who’ve paid off their vehicle, the system streamlines the process of getting them a title that shows there is no longer a lien. It was started as a pilot program in January.

The system also reduces possibilities of fraud by handling lien transactions between financial institutions and the MVC in a secure, digital manner that reduces the handling, printing, storage, and mailing costs associated with paper titles, officials said.

Lenders can use the system to confirm lien transactions, make any corrections, or release liens at the conclusion of loan. This speeds up the lien release process, making it easier for customers and retailers to obtain a lien-free title, officials said.

“We’re excited to announce the availability of ELT in New Jersey,” Latrecia Littles-Floyd, the commission’s acting chief administrator, said in a statement. “The system has huge advantages when it comes to processing liens and titles. It’s a win all around and a big step forward in our continued efforts to modernize and improve the Commission.”

Skip the trip to title used cars?

It also sets the stage for future plans to change registering and titling a vehicle purchased from a private owner from an in-person transaction at an agency to a digital one

“The new ELT system will serve as a base platform for the future digitization of the NJMVC’s titling and registration systems,” Connolly said. “Registering and transferring the title of a vehicle purchased during a private sale are currently transactions that must be completed at an agency appointment.”

That answers a major issue and criticism made during the pandemic when motor vehicle agencies were closed and afterward when appointments were in short supply. Drivers who bought used cars from a private seller had difficulty registering and titling them quickly so they could drive them.

The motor vehicle commission’s centers reopened in July 2020 after being closed during the height of coronavirus pandemic to long lines and the MVC transitioned to an appointment system to catch up on a backlog of transactions.

It wasn’t until October 2020 that appointments could be made to register and title privately-purchased used vehicles. Drivers who need to title and register used vehicles said they encountered difficulties registering and titling them in a reasonable period of time, especially if it replaced a non-working vehicle

New car dealers usually handle the titling process and get people on the road immediately by issuing temporary tags. Some used car dealers also issue temporary tags.
